This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
anyone get their rewards card yet? I know it's probably still two weeks early ... hope springs eternal.
ReplyDeletestripedsocks, not yet, saw a prompt while checking out of the final sale a week ago, but blew right past it. darn.
DeleteI had high hopes for the Sammy chinos but they were a fail on me. They were quite tight in the hips/thigh but loose in the waist - as others have noted these are high waisted. Also, they were surprisingly stretchy.
ReplyDeletePSA for Schoolboy fans: I tried the new BR Factory Academy Blazer yesterday and found the style/fit comparable except that I sized up one size from my typical Schoolboy size - due to needing a little more room in the shoulders and arms. The tweed version was pretty nice. It is also available in a couple of solid colors but the fabric is a poly/rayon blend.
Oh no - that's always a bummer when that happens. I'm surprised though because the Sammy chinos fit perfect for me - and I'm thick in the thigh. I don't recall them being too high wasted but perhaps that's me aging and changing preferences - I was thinking more city fit just at/just below the waist, right? Please call me back out on that though. Yikes on stretchy - I only had them on for a minute but I've been mired the past several years with stretched-out Crew bottoms, not good.

Deletesaw the new arrival charm bracelet IRL...its a pass for me.
ReplyDeleteI tried it on at the store and it was heavy! Pass for me as well.
DeleteI posted a pic and a mini review today on my Instagram @shoppingcelle f of the slingback flat in punchy floral. Item F1290. I found these in the store even though they are supposed to be online only. Leather upper and foot bed and a fun glitter trim. around that foot bed. I bought these in size 6 1/2. For reference I most often wear a size 7 in non-J.Crew styles. A 6 1/2 in Sloan's and a 7 in Gemmas.
ReplyDelete"life is short...buy the shoes" has lots of reviews, Carolyn
ReplyDeleteCheck your emails JCAs! I got an email from J.Crew yesterday with the subject line "roxy, how can we help?" and at the bottom was a code for $25 of $100+, online or in-store.
ReplyDeleteHey Roxy. Good to see you. I have a feeling this is for shoppers who haven't purchased in awhile. But I'll be looking at my email closely anyway ;)
Delete@Roxy, as soon as I saw your post, I double-checked to make sure the J Crew emails I've been deleting after a quick glance didn't contain this code. Nothing to see here, but in a funny twist of shopping karma, today I received a similar 'TM93, we miss you!' email from Loft. (Guess this is a common strategy among retailers.)
DeleteIt's funny because if JC did send such an email, I would give in and buy that pretty silk polka-dot dress that I don't need!
TM93: but you do need that dress, lol. I love it! -lep33shops
Delete@Lauren, I think you're just the little nudge i need to at least order it in the Petite size (previously tried the Regular), what harm could that bring?! I've been wanting this pattern and color for a long time and this version may be too good to pass up. (I noticed that the silk felt nicer than other JC silks of late, another plus!) Thanks for the confirmation! :-D
Delete@TM93 emmeltwins (on IG) told me to buy it and I always listen to her. It does feel nicer than other JC silks. Thumbs up. Glad I could "help" lol.
DeleteI just got the email "Jenna Picks her Favorite New Arrivals" No code that I can see.
DeleteIts funny how much nicer JC clothing looks on all you lovely ladies on insta than their models! I have bought things many a time after "seeing" it on one of you:)
DeleteI got the code also a couple of days ago and I purchase from them multiple times a month- so, I don't think it's just for infrequent shoppers
DeleteSame here. I often give items that I've overlooked a try, based on JCA's reviews. Really appreciate all the blog posts, pics and detailed comments on instagram.
DeleteI got the email but without a code. Can someone share the code??
DeleteI got it too, Roxy. I've been taking a break from JC for a while so Gigi is probably right about the intended target.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice promo and I will definitely use it for new arrivals this month. Fall has been my favorite season at JC for decades!
Hi, well dressed women: anyone here in the "small-size" range? I bought another pair of Crewcuts jeans for boys in 16, different cut this time, and they're great. I usually wear a 4 in human size, and bought a complete navy blue tux for boys (only J. Crew!) at the clearance store here. Great fit for me! Anyone else?
ReplyDeleteGot the e-mail, no promo :( Too bad as there is so much I like but not enough incentive to buy!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ordered the chambray romper in the sale section?
ReplyDeleteI picked up the Rome Destination tee in store since it's been sold out online for Canada for awhile now. I thought I'd take my usual small but the store only had one XS left and it was fine when I tried it. It fit slim but I wanted it like that. I thought it was really cute and I like the navy the best. The store said they were selling out quickly. If you have a larger chest I think your usual size or sizing up would be needed.
