J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. A review of some new arrivals that I like:
1.The Super 120s merino wool popover, like this in both colors. This could be a very versatile option once fall arrives.
2.I also like the new prints and yeah for silk! Not a fan of pajama tops, but like the choice of a perfect shirt, in particular the birds of paradise. Would love to hear from someone that's actually seen this print and top in person. Midnight unicorn also looks pretty too & the pants might work.
3.Always a fan of leopard & silk cuff sleeved top looks cute; could look great with a red pencil skirt.
4.Happy overall to see natural fabrics i.e. Silk & wool. Would like to see long wool pants.

Not going to order anything even though I have rewards and a $25 off $100 purchase that also includes free monogramming. I ordered early for spring/summer & absolutely everything made it to sale & even sold out items, like collection striped sweater dress, popped back on sale in my size. Same was true of winter items I wanted like collection cashmere blend fair isle pencil skirt. Plus, I'm still on vacay in Kenya, so hard to think about fall/wtr.

Happy shopping everyone! There's some good stuff to like & love! Can't wait to hear what others love & decide to buy.

  2. I see lots to like in this rollout! Mostly, I am in love with the Rhodes blazer and pants in pink flamingo though! But they are already sold out in my size! How does that happen?

    1. Rhodes suit is stunning! Call a VPS to try to find your size.

    2. IslandGirl, I too love the Rhodes blazer and pants especially in that Flamingo! I'm perusing the Style book, and I'm putting post-its on those items I must have. Doesn't look good to my budget, but I'm happy! I called the CSA downtown, and she's going to "do something" to get it for me.

    3. Thank you for the idea, Milljcrew! I managed to have a CSA find it in store for me here in Canada, and I'm having the blazer shipped from one store and the pants from another! I'm with you, bully4kate, it doesn't look good for my budget either, but I'm very happy :-)

    4. IslandGirl, thanks for the response, I was just going to give up. I'm just in love with the catalog, I'm going to spend lots of time going through it.

    2. You're welcome! I found a treasure also (or three lol)

    3. Me too! When I saw 2800 items, I did the happy dance. Able to score a few items I'd been wanting - St. Barth palm tree tee in light blue (saw on Ina @inawonderland5 & used her review to decide on sizing) & Collection embroidered summer top in white. Great prices on both. Fingers crossed on fit & look.

    4. Lucky you for scoring the collection embroidered top! I've been stalking that for a few weeks but haven't seen any popbacks, and still didn't see one this morning. I did snag a gingham tippi popback though, looking forward to wearing it when weather cools off next month.

    5. @shopgrrrl, yeah on the Tippi find! Not sure what size you are, but navy was available this am in size 2. I'm on the other side of the world right now, so it's been easy to see the early morning sale updates. Good luck on your hunt!

  4. I received the sailor ponte skirt and I love it! It's long enough for my 5'10 frame and nice and stretchy for my curvy figure. I'll wear it 4 seasons! A fantastic buy!

Also I noticed the eyelet lace up flat has popped back in stock in pink in most sizes. I can't recommend these enough. I purchased very early in the season then returned them and bought final sale a few weeks ago. I have gotten a ton of compliments! They go with everything and are super comfortable. I'm now stalking the navy.!!

  5. I finally got the collins glitter loafers. I've been eyeing them since Ina showed them on her IG last winter. So much more sparkly and fun than you can see online, and with the extra % off. Not a bad price. Ive been wearing more 8.5 than 9 these days and that's what I got. A little wide for me but I don't think too loose.

From Madewell ordered the Sol Sana Anna slide in black and white, which i noticed a few weeks ago and waited for extra % off. They are whole sizes only so I got the 9. A little long but SO CUTE. most likely the 8 would be too short.

  6. I received the lucite heel shoe in the grey velvet. They are gorgeous. The color is really pretty and I love the chunky lucite heel. I really love the combination of the grey with the amber heel. I ordered half a size up and it was the right decision. I think these will look great with jeans and skirts for fall and through the holidays.

That's the only thing I'm interested in ordering from this roll out. I'm not a bright pink person and everything else feels like it's been done before, or I have something similar.
