How was your holiday? I'm heading back to Paris in December, my excitement is starting to build.
ReplyDeleteYes, I ordered the toothpick cords in champagne, I lived in J Crew cords last winter.I also plumped for the goldenrod brocade top after seeing it on Gigi today.
Can anyone speak to the fit of the Elan trousers? TTS? Differences between the linen-cotten vs. the Super 120s? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteElan pants are great fitting. I bought them in the Super 120's during the last 30% off sale... Beware now - They are $30.00 more expensive. The pants sale says 20% off but that is what they were a week ago in the sale section ($98.00). I got 30% of the $98.00 - NOT NICE J. CREW.
ReplyDeleteThanks Milljcrew, I didn't realize that. Now J. Crew pants go up and down like the stock market.
ReplyDeleteJust a reminder, best not to post about extra discounts you may have gotten, before big brother takes them away.
ReplyDeleteSo, did anybody receive the new "Mickey card" besides the one JCA over the weekend? I have to admit, I'm suspicious!
ReplyDeleteI haven't received the Mickey card nor have I received the last two catalogs - first time ever! If I don't receive the next catalog I'll be fretting over the possibility of having been moved to or removed from the 'list'. boo hoo I haven't changed my shopping habits either. :(
ReplyDeleteCan anyone offer a review or sizing information on the Downtown Skinny Jean? The description implies a slightly slimmer (slouchier) fit than the toothpick jeans. Would love to know if I'm reading it right and how the fabric itself measures up.
ReplyDeleteTIA
Elizabeth - I love the Elan. I have the stretch wool and also the Super 120s. You can see the stretch wool here and here. I will later post a photo of the Super 120s elan. They're not $30 more expensive. The 20% is off regular retail. They just didn't take 10% off $98. They're holding at the same $98 price they've been for at least a month.
ReplyDeleteCass - I hear you. delete delete
silver_lining - I haven't recvd a card, but I'm on the West Coast and we're usually a few days behind for bananas and luggage and other things they send. Can't remember what fruit that was... Haven't heard about the card either, so I'll look here on the blog, unless someone wants to drop the link.
Maybe someone is thinking of the quality card from Mickey that arrives with our online purchases as of late? Referred to in this post.
ReplyDeleteI received the 25% off card in the mail today! Good on all purchases in store until October 11. All I can say is, "I'M GOIN' SHOPPING!!!"
ReplyDeleteI live in NYC, so maybe others will receive this week?
:)
Thanks Gigi, I did order the 120s and linen cotton - the stretch wool is now only available in a black size 6 which could fit but since it's FS, I'm afraid to chance it.
ReplyDeleteI might have to take advantage of this since I tried on a pair of wool "sweatpants" last week and thought they would be perfect for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm not taking advantage of this. Yes, price jacking is so Mr. Dexler who so loves his profit margins and no discounts. Never thought a big mall brand would play such dirty tricks on customers.
ReplyDeleteHowever you want to look at the price... I paid $68.00 for the Super 120 Elan's a few weeks ago. They are now $98.00 (with the 20% off of pants offer) - I just called to see if they were $98.00 with an additional 20%. So, to me, they are $30.00 more than I paid a few weeks ago. To me, that is J. Crew playing around.
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain why that post would alert anyone to anything? I am feeling so clueless right now-LOL!
ReplyDeletesweetsy, I would like to explain why I wrote that about not posting such things, but if I spell it out I am also spelling it out to "big brother" so I prefer not to.
ReplyDeleteNo red card for me.
ReplyDeleteAre the dress pants lined? I'm looking and looking at the descriptions of the dress pants (even with discount, they're $100+) for the words "lined"...can't see them.
ReplyDeleteI guess knowing they raise and lower the prices all the time, this didn't seem so secretive. I watch things go on promo price, then back to regular, then to sale, and sometimes back to regular price with a percent off promo (like these pants). If someone doesn't mind risking their size is gone but wants a better price, they might feel it's worth waiting until they go back to sale price with percent off. I see this often. Recently, I watched something that was over $200 regular price, go to sale, then they offered 30% off sale and I bought it. Now it is back to full price. They are always doing this based on inventory and how things are selling. Though it can feel deceptive and irritating..it's how they roll;)
ReplyDeleteCloset crisis - some of them are. I ordered the herringbone 1035 trousers, and they specify a lining. If it doesn't specify, you could call cs, but I would guess not.
ReplyDeleteAre Favorite Fit chinos ever coming back? Anyone know?
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny, aren't Everyday Chinos the same as Favorite Fit chinos?
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed when there is a two day sale like the sweaters last week and the current pants...they never put signs up or mention anything about it in the b/m's...if you don't ask, they don't honor the discount
ReplyDeleteHas anyone purchased or tried on the black leggings? What is the sizing like? Are they comfortable?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone purchased or tried on the black leggings? What is the sizing like? Are they comfortable?
ReplyDeletemilljcrew will you please email me gigiofca at gmail :-)
ReplyDeleteNothing for me with this promo. I was hoping to see the 20% off of jackets, blazers, and outerwear...then I would definitely be purchasing! :)
ReplyDeletemissnlove, at my B&M there was a tiny sign (postcard size) on a couple of tables indicating the 20% off sweater promotion, but it was very easy to miss.
ReplyDelete@kris, thanks! My bottom half is "finicky" so will probably pass on this promo. Still kicking myself for missing out on the sweater promo (could have bought a Jackie twin set or 2) but hopeful there is a promo on outerwear soon. BTW the Thandie is on promo right now. It's totally grown on me. Have put it on my "watch list" hehe.
ReplyDeletesweetsy and milljcrew feel free to email me at femme55@hotmail.com as well for explanation. :)
