ReplyDeleteI thought it was odd that the black icon trench was in FS ($199.99, only sizes 12 and 14). I just figured that was a piece that would never go on sale!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the Bettina's will finally start to move now that they're down to $19.99. There are two items that I've previously tried on that I might bite on, but only if there is an additional % offered.
I was up for a 4am telecon and noticed there were a lot of items added to FS but nothing I added to my cart. I managed to snag the ripstop field jacket and gingham Olivia shift when they popped back in my size on Monday so I am happy about that.
ReplyDeleteI usually have a mock cart in IE fully loaded as my wishlist (and I shop from Firefox), but there is only one thing in there now and it is not FS so I'm waiting for the pants promo to end and see if a new promo applies. If not I'll likely succumb and buy it at full price.
silver_lining, I was surprised to see the Icon in FS as well. I thought it was one of their staple pieces and would never go on sale. It's a great trench, I highly recommend it to any JCAs who may be considering it. One of their well-made classics and a good buy at that price.

ReplyDeletesilver_lining - I saw the Bettina camis at the B&M and decided to try it on. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. The colors are perfect for fall and some may even work for next spring. When I saw that they were $19.99 this morning I couldn't resist and picked another one up in dried rose. I would really recommend these. They fit TTS. I'm btw a 2 and a 4 and I got these in a 4.

I had the b&m place the chiffon cecilia cami on hold for me, I'm going to use my 25% off card on that one. I, too, am surprised that this has gone on sale so quickly. ReplyDeleteMichelle - I know, it feels irritating. I am not surprised that the peekaboo is not lower in-store. However, that would not stop me from taking it up to the register to check if I didn't already own it. Sometimes the stores miss items and I've hit that retail lottery a number of times.

Also, for those of you looking at the Stretch double-serge pencil skirts, size down! I got both the mink and black, in sizes 2 and 4, respectively, since I wasn't sure which size I'd wear. The sz 2 is a much better fit. I can still wear the 4, but it's significantly looser (if anyone wants my size 4 black, let me know :) )

This is OT: does anyone own the Tessa sweater jacket from 2008? I'm looking at it on eBay but am trying to get a fix on the real color: Honey glaze? Bright Citron? Spicy Mustard? Any comments on color and texture would be most welcome. TIA.

I am usually a small in the perfect fit cami, and am worried about getting too big b/c I don't like the super scoop necks, especially as they stretch as you wear them and I constantly have to pull them up. ReplyDeletejcrewphd: I just bought the pippy top in dark rosewood and I love it--especially the detailing on the sleeves. It is a boxier fit but the armholes aren't generously cut so that may be compromised if you size down.

ReplyDeleteBeth, I would take your normal size for the Microspun tank. I just got one today and tried on both the XS (the tank size I've been buying all summer) and the S. The XS fit but was definitely snug, so I went for the S because I wanted something slightly drapey. I don't think it's cut super generously like some of the other tanks we've seen recently. HTH!

ReplyDeleteopheliasmom: I would describe it as a dark, mushroomy brown. It's not "chocolatey" really...it's a perfect neutral, I think. It's really hard to describe, but I was very pleased with it. I was wanting a brown pencil skirt...not light khaki and not chocolate brown, and this falls perfectly in between. HTH!

I ordered it Sunday, emailed J Crew for a price adjustment since it was already on sale, and they emailed back this morning saying it wasn't on sale. Sure enough, when I went to look, it's back up to full price.

Chloe - it was definitely on sale for $79.99 online and in the b&m's yesterday. I tracked my size down and picked it up yesterday in the b&m, used the 25% card, which came out to a steal at $59.99. I can't believe it's back to FP online! Have them search for your size in store, and pick it up for the sale price. I would return the FP one, just on principal alone....
