Nathan et al (aka Spammers for Gap, Inc.)... STOP!

Dear Spammers for Gap, Inc.:

Includes:
"Nathan" (aka: blogger.com/profile/18239164224069786006)
"Kara" (aka: blogger.com/profile/09226067205183159681)
"Brad" (aka: blogger.com/profile/06403829607220611449)

Please stop posting comments on this blog (about J.Crew!) for another company that Gap, Inc. owns. Seriously, stop it. Your advertisement links are not insightful, they are annoying as you post nothing to the conversation except a link to the other e-commerce site. (By the way, I will never shop there now.)

If you have not noticed, I deleted all of your comments. I will continue to delete your comments. I am also forwarding this information to your company's executives.

Thank you.

  1. Yay Alexis! I'll also think twice before I shop at The Gap.

  2. Himmiefan: Thanks! :) It was really crazy how many "comments" were left by those spammers for a company owned by Gap, Inc. It makes me think twice about the Gap (which I love).

  3. @ Heidi - YES, they are!

How is it possible that GAP is even more boring since Patrick Robinson took the helm?

  4. I obviously missed something? What happened? Did the Gap sanction it?

  5. Creepy, Gap Inc. Stop harassing the JCA blog!

  6. Heidi, DrDrama, Lindsey B., WellFedFred, Raina, GemTwin, JCrew Love, & Pansy: Thanks everyone for the support! :)

Essentially the Spammers would write one sentence as a comment (e.g. "That is a terrible tank!") and include a link for the clothing item (e.g. tank) back to category being sold by one of Gap, Inc's company. The thing that was weird, the link was straight to the category page. There was no referral or identifying link. Just a clean link back (e.g. GapInc.com/clothing/tanks). The first few times I ignored it, but it was becoming a regular thing as of late which really bothered me. :(

  7. Raina Cox, I wholeheartedly agree! The Gap and BR are so boring. I used to love them both but haven't found anything I like at either in ages.

Alexis, I also get these comments on my blog. I also get ones from a Talbots person who links to the Talbots blog, but those are only on Talbots posts, so I don't mind so much. But the Gap/BR ones drive me bonkers when they do pop up. I know Roxy over at Effortless Anthropologie had been getting them, too.

  8. Those comments really are the pits!! They get me so riled up and are lame, lame, lame. Maybe if Gap Inc stopped paying people to spam blogs and started focusing on quality designs and materials they'd be doing better.

  10. OK, I have been liking BR and Gap lately (good quality fabrics, some nice designs and good promos), but yes, paying people to spam blogs is really lame and just backfires by making you look super desperate!

Dear J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados: Please feel free (and encouraged) to share your thoughts and opinions. :) However, please note that this is still a personal blog. So comments that are considered inappropriate (e.g. obscene, racist, homophobic, personal attacks, rude, and just plain mean) will be removed.

And now back to J.Crew! :)
