J.Crew Spotted in Oprah Magazine

A big "thanks!" to Desert Flower, who not only let us know about a J.Crew item being spotted in the August issue of Oprah Magazine, but also scanned the images for us to view! (Click on the image to see it larger.)

The page features the Glimmer Cardigan (Item 28147; $178.00). As I mentioned in an earlier post, I really like this cardigan. I know its a bit over the top with the shimmering paillettes, but that is what makes it so special.

What are your thoughts on the cardigan featured? Do you like the style with all its shimmering paillettes? If so, please share! :)

  2. OT: got the dreaded news about your JCrew order...no sweater coming for my daughter's birthday. And she was so excited about it too!

It seemed as if there were plenty in stock when I ordered but item got cancelled.

  3. I like the cardigan too, Alexis. I think it's adorable, and much more wearable because of the dark color.

By the way, the Norma Kamali for Walmart trench also pictured is really great.

  4. Desert Flower,

I got a cute colorful trench at Wal-mart a few years ago. I get compliments on it all the time!

  5. I like the cardigan, too...just not the price. Lauren Conrad offered a similar one that I blogged about here back in May. (Her cardigan is also very similar to one from the Marc by Marc Jacobs line.)

Here's the link for the cardigan on the Kohl's website: LC Lauren Conrad Sequin Cardigan

  6. I do like the sequin cardi. Very pretty for going out. I also like that LOFT top and the AT skirt. I was hoping AT would start making some of the jacquard skirts, b/c JC refuses to make them in my size.

  7. Genny: The same thing happened to me last month, there were plenty left in stock and my order got cancelled. I have not ordered from them since.

  10. casual-crew,

Thanks for your post. I have had this happend before many times from JCrew but has been a while and NEVER with a Crewcuts item. I thought maybe their website was better on inventory checking now. Guess not. It seems to happen at JCrew only for me. And I shop online a TON from many places.

  11. Genny: I was told by CS there is a lag time (in hrs) inventory updates between the website and call-in orders. I agree with you this does not happen with any other retailers but J Crew.

  12. I got the dreaded phone call to tell me that my order would be minus one item. I placed the order Sunday evening PST and it has taken them a solid 3 days to realize they don't have the item.

To make me feel better about it, the associate informed me I would be able to return the bottom to the swimsuit since the top wouldn't be shipping. Not much of a benefit since the item was not FS.

This is the second order in a row with issues...I think I'll be taking a break.

  13. Caroline,

Yes, the lag time is really an issue when an item is out of stock.

Still waiting the same 3 days and my order has not shipped b/c one item was not available. At least my daughter will be getting her necklace.

    I think I need a break too!

  14. I had the dreaded call from J Crew once and I will never forget it. It was the Starlight ballet flats in multi and I still think about them. However I have experience this with other retailers such as Coach, so it does happen elsewhere :(
