J Crew Regional Sample Sale {more info}

In the July 8th "J Crew Regional Sample Sale {coming soon!}" post, Em was kind to share about a "Regional Sample Sale" in Winston-Salem, North Carolina taking place July 16-25.

"Thanks!" to Mary who shared some additional news about this event:
There was a half page ad in the Winston-Salem Journal this morning for the J.Crew Regional Warehouse Sale, with 25% off your entire purchase with the ad.

To quote from ad: "Friday, July 16th-Sunday, July 25th 10 am-6 pm. Don't miss the excitement... $30 cashmere sweaters, $40 Italian leather shoes, $50 wedding gowns. Featuring current and past season sample-quality clothing, shoes and accessories for women, men and kids."

Address is 1606 A Stratford Road. It's sort of funny that they refer to this as the J. Crew regional warehouse, like this is some established building that everyone knows about. Stratford Road is one of our long commercial strips and I'm guessing the "J. Crew warehouse" is one of our recently closed furniture stores or something.
"Thanks!" also to Denver (in this post) who shared with us the following coupon for an additional 25% off your purchase. Click on the image itself (or here) to print it out.

The location for the store is:
1606 A Stratford Road
Across from Hanes Mall
Winston-Salem, NC 2710

Those prices for those items sound great! Ugh... if only I lived near by. I would so be there! :)

Congrats to all those in the area!!! :)

  1. I still can't decide if I should make the drive to check it out. I think it' like 2.5 hours from me. It's not like I actually *need* anything...due to extra20/extra30, I've spent a lot more this season than I'd anticipated! Also, now I'm steamed that there's a 25% off coupon floating around out there and I have no way of getting one. Grrr. Decisions, decisions....

  2. Elaine -

If you go to the Winston-Salem Journal website you can print off the ad. Go to the website - click on the shopping link on the right - enter j. Crew where it says search ads - then click on the link to the ad - print it off and there you go. Hope this helps.

  3. Wish I could go, but 4 hours one way is too far. If anyone goes and sees the pom pom flats in silver in a size 7 and is willing to pick them up for me, I would be so grateful! I'll gladly pay for shipping (plus a little extra for time). TIA (They went on sale while I was at Disney and I didn't have computer access; by the time I got home, they were gone in my size b/c they also offered 30% off while I was gone.)

  5. Went early this morning! After entering you get a price sheet and a trash bag, then it's basically up to you to comb through boxes (loosely organized). The space is big, but not so huge it's not manageable. I found the best deals on shoes and cardigans, although if you're looking for winter coats and dressier dresses you're in luck as well. Cashmere is in especially good shape. Be careful as always, much of the merchandise is stained or has holes.

    Here are prices: Tops (non-sweaters) $15. Bottoms: $20. Jackets: $30. Coats: $50. Sweaters: $20. Cashmere: $30. Dresses: $30. Special Occasion: $40. Wedding: $50. Shoes: $40. Wellies/Sandals/Espadrilles: $25. Flip-flops: $10. Accessories: $8. Jewlery: $10. Handbags: $20. Leather bags: $30 Swimwear: $3/piece Onepiece: $8. Men's Swim: $10. Coverups: $15. Men's Chinos: $15.

Also, a variety of sleepwear/loungewear; Crewcuts; other discounts

There was a HUGE line as I was leaving (hours long); while the sale was AWESOME and I managed to find some great deals, I'm not sure it would be worth waiting that long for--I would recommend going back throughout the week (the employees said they would be getting shipments in every few days).

    GOOD LUCK!

  6. hi all,

i checked it out today. got there at 9, the ad said it started at 10 but apparently they actually opened at 8. got in no probem but there was a huge line when i left around 11:30. seems like the majority of the pieces are damaged-snags, stains, missing buttons/belts, etc. but i did get some cute pieces and there was a lot of stuff that is still on the website (some even full price!)

also, i was eavesdropping on one of the employees talking to another customer and he said that they do a sale like this pretty much every month at the asheville outlet. anyone know about this?

  7. and there was a disappointing lack of skirts so don't go if you are hoping to find some cute skirts. it is mostly tops and sweaters (s/s10) didn't check out the men's or kids much, mens was mostly size mediums it looked like. there was a lot of madewell denim, if anyone's interested in that.

  9. Yup, the clearance store in Arden (near Asheville) has big warehouse clearance sales like this- varies from monthly to every few months. However, those sales have no organization- a big free for all! Lots of stuff has SAMPLE written all over it in sharpie, but you can find something pretty good if you search hard enough! :)

  10. Went to the sale this morning! 1 hour long line outside for most of the morning till it started to downpour! Still lots of dresses, sandals, madewell denim, cardis, lots of shirts, and some outerwear. Workers kept bringing in more boxes. Definitely had to pick through- lots of sweaters with holes, stuff with stains. Overall, spent like 2 hours there and left with a few good things. The only thing the workers said they were out of were swimsuits!

  11. I went this morning as well, and I was pleased with what I left with - which included a pair of Cleo Platform Sandals. I've been eyeing them since they premiered, but with all the naysaying, I passed. However, I love them (I did have to go up a full size for them to fit, however).

That being said, I think the shoe selection is pretty great. Mostly neutral and metallic colors, lots of Cleo Platforms, Caden cork wedges, and quite a few pairs of the Ares platform and sandal.

Also, don't be duped by the factory store items that are mixed in! Check your tags for those 2 diamonds.

  12. Hi, does anyone know how to tell what comes from the factory outlet? I see another comment that mentioned stars. Any tricks to get the Sharpie mark off? Did anyone find a leather handbag at the sale? Lastly, does anyone know what time the sale opens on Tuesday?

  13. I went today ... the people working said they bring in new boxes every day. It's total chaos and requires a ton of digging, but there are some great finds! Picked up a few shirts, pants, blazers ... but definitely be careful about tears and stains - they are on a lot of the pieces!

Math teacher - they definitely had the pom pom flats in gold in a 7, not sure about 8. I'm going back tomorrow with the coupon ... email me at thehappydash@gmail.com if interested in me looking for you!
