Last Day for Extra 30% Off Final Sale {& free shipping}

Today is the last day to take 30% off any purchase from Final Sale {no minimum} and get free shipping {on $150+} with promo code EXTRA30.

Let me start off by saying, "bravo J.Crew!" This is an excellent promotion that I have been taking advantage of for the past several days. And from the {decreasing} levels of merchandise in the Final Sale section (click here), I am not the only one! A win-win for me & J.Crew (...well, maybe not so much my wallet). ;)

I hate to see this promotion go. Especially since I have a sneaky feeling that tomorrow there will be a surge in Final Sale merchandise. (Isn't that always the case— when sale merchandise levels increase on the day *after* one of these {amazing} promos end). ;)

On a bright note, several JCAs have mentioned new arrivals will be available online this week. I have another sneaky feeling that it will happen tomorrow. :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion today? Are there any sale items you are interested in getting?

  1. Nope, I think I am done. I don't think I'll be using this promotion today. Everything I wanted sold out on the first or well before that. I'll be looking forward to seeing new arrivals online.

  2. The script coat went down to 159 in all colors - woot!

  3. So far I've resisted- on a severe budget and trying to be my own CFO who approves purchases. So far, the "Denied!" stamp has applied to every pending purchase as I can easily refer to other items I have in my closet that are similar or items I just don't see wearing long term. This is not fun but I look forward to lifting the "ban" this Spring!

If I had a windfall, I'd get the Small Georgie satchel in pale gold, the Dream Shawl Cardi and the Bryant Suede Platform Heels...

  4. No, not taking advantage of this promo. After day one there really has been nothing good left!

  5. After thinking about it for days, I ordered the Lady Day with Thinsulate in Sea Salt. I hope sizing up one will be enough, sometimes lined coats just add the lining to the regular size, rather than have the lining be the correct size and make the shell to fit around it. Fingers crossed!

Actually, I've been thinking about about a light color coat for a few years now, but kept putting it off. I finally realized that, especially with the 30% off, I could buy several items I may only wear a few times or for the same amount of money I could get a nice investment piece. If the coat works, and even if it doesn't, I'm going to return some of the unnecessary but fun stuff I ordered this time around. I broke my rule of not ordering if there's a package in transit BIG TIME and I've got major shopper's remorse!

  6. After practically buying nothing from JC since the SP '09 roll out, I did bite on this promotion and picked up a couple of basics that I'd been eying for awhile-- the perfect pencil in black and the schoolboy blazer in light gray. IF the blazer actually ships (it's supposedly on back order until early March), it only cost something like $35 after the additional 30% off. Whoa.

Anyone else decide to take a chance on that blazer?

I used to shop JC practically exclusively but just haven't been able to get with all the super muted colors during the past year. Also, it seems to me that quality has gone awry, at least in some areas. (e.g., Sweaters not as good as they used to be, but outerwear is still fine.) Like many JCAs, I loved the quality and look of the perf pencil but was never able to find it in my size at a B&M. The blazer is a classic and looks like it's well-made, even if the fit is a little wonky (for $35, that's ok).

I'm really hoping JC offers more that I'm interested in this year! I've missed them, lol.

Shout out to all the DC-area JCAs!

  7. I just received my plaza cost in ivory and I have to say I'm impressed! I had heard some complaints about the lower cashmere count but it's so soft! I'm probably committing sacrilege by saying this but I am not a big fan of the double cloth. It's not soft at all and feels too nylon-y. I really don't know what the big fuss is all about. I do like the styles of the double cloth coats but the fabric is a no-go for me.

I'm thinking about getting the griffin coat. I need a more "practical" coat. The ivory plaza is beautiful but very formal. It would look great with my suits but I can't see me wearing it every day. Besides, ivory gets dirty so fast. The griffin is such a steal with the promotion. Does anyone have any opinion about the coat?

  8. Done with sales! I've bought a few tank tops and ruffle henley from the new season. It was refreshing to see new stuff. Time to move on!!

  9. I got a few things at the beginning of the promo and was hoping for a restock but there's really very little left available and nothing I like. I'm sure there will be a lot more available in the sale section tomorrow, once the promo ends.

  10. I try to stay as far away from final sale as I can....Unless the item is $20 or less....or I can try on in store which is rare.

  11. I've managed to stick to my ban through this sale, though I did fill a cart! I resisted the urge to submit! It is a great promo.
The coats especially are great deals right now!

  12. I got my rewards card yesterday, so I got the perfect pencil skirt in plum, the bling button in breeze, two perfect l/s v-neck tees, and a ruffle henley. I saw some cute spring things in my B&M, but I have to admit, when it comes to Spring/Summer I tend to gravitate more towards Anthro and other stores. J Crew is definitely my "go to" Fall/Winter site, though, so I'm happy this sale allowed me to get some deals on stuff I've been coveting since October.

  13. Charlotte: I caved and ordered the Griffin coat, in black. It arrived today and I LOVE IT--so happy with this purchase. The style looks elegant and the quality is great for the 30%-off price.

  14. DaniP,
I did the same. Filled the cart and didn't order....it felt pretty good to stay strong! Plus, too worried about final sale/no returns.

  15. I managed to get the perfect pencil skirt as well in black and another cashmere cardi due to the 30% off. I had been stalking the black perfect pencil forever and once the cashmere cardi's were replenished, picked up one I wanted in sweet guava.

  16. Wow. What an amazing sale! Too bad jcrew fails to reload any new inventory for us to purchase. They just keep putting up the same garbage no one wants.

  17. Charlotte, I got the Griffin coat in charcoal and really like it. Nice quality and it looks good w/ jeans but is also good with nicer clothes, too. I normally wear and XS or 0 in JC clothing but I ordered a 2 in the coat as I wanted to make sure I could wear it over sweaters or other layers and it fits perfectly. The sleeves are slim!

  18. FYI..I just preordered the tie-dye skirt from the lookbook.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Does anyone have a pic of this tie-dye skirt? I would love to see it.

I didn't get the look book.

  20. I dropped by the store to check out some new arrivals just now... there are many beautiful spring dresses and gorgeous ballet flats. I got a $10.00 reusable canvas bag! There's graphic of a chic lady carrying a bag... then printed with J.CREW on the right. I LOVE this bag; especially for its price!

  21. Cheesy Goodness, I have an ivory Lady Day, (non thinsulate) and I love it. I did try on the thinsulate version, and did feel that it was more snug, although that was last year. I am a bit self-conscious in it....worrying about it getting dirty, but so far so good. It's very elegant-you will love it!

  22. Does anyone have comments on the fit/sizing of the stretch wool suiting collection, particularly the city fit pant and 2 button blazer? I am in between sizes in the pants, and not sure how much they stretch. TIA!

  23. Can anyone comment on the Ombre Horizon Coat (collection item)??? Like/don't like, TTS, soft??? TIA!!

  24. Has anyone scanned the new Look Book by chance? I'd love to see the pics.

  26. So has anyone seen the new ballet flats for spring? I'm completely on the fence for the Colleen Rose flats and feel like I could order and then wish I had waited because the spring ones were better.

I ordered several cashmere sweaters the first night, minutes after the promo showed up and glad I did, several of the colors were gone the following morning.

  27. Thanks Ann and Txmom. I finally caved and bought the griffin in black. I also "caved" and bought the camel version of the plaza in thinsulate. Winters are cold here and I'm planning on moving to NY so I figured I need some nice warm coats. The hubby thinks I should be happy with the ivory plaza but that coat is not that practical. I wish I could wear ivory everyday but dirty ivory is just not a great look. I've always wanted a nice camel coat and I was extremely impressed with the softness of the wool/cashmere. It's not itchy at all. It feels like heaven. :) I don't think you can do better for the price you get. I'm sure after JC updates the sale tomorrow I may think differently but I'm looking at these pieces as investments. So, I think I have to say goodbye to JC for now. I believe I'm maxed out at 3 coats!

  28. anyone know how the wool ribbon script coat runs?? thanks

  29. Elizabeth-

The Colleen rose flats are gorgeous IRL! I bought them on the promo and love them. I think they would carry well into the spring.

  30. Making a mental note to self: Next time I need a coat to wait until end of January to purchase it...

    ReplyDelete
  31. I was really off my game and left items in my cart 'til the things I really wanted were gone.

Oh well. It's not a bad thing that the universe curbs my spending.

I did end up with a few perfect-fit t's and a featherweight cardi. Not bad, even under enforced restraint.

  32. Zoelicious: Would you be willing to forward that email to me as well? I'd really appreciate it!

  33. Does anyone know if I can still return an item bought with the EXTRA30 from the Final Sale items but with the receipt not showing Final Sale? I bought a cashmere sweater but didn't realize that the color that I ordered is very similar to a sweater that I already have.

    ReplyDelete
  34. LynnQ,

You can return anything if it doesn't have "final sale" written next to it. I've been returned plenty of items I bought from final sale...no problems.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I fell for the 30% off promotion, as well as the recent 20% off promotion. I also got the perfect pencil skirt in black! I only ordered items I already had but in different colors- hopefully that is "safe" for final sale!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I bought the long boyfriend blazer for 122. Hoping to get a lot of wear out of it. Also the yellow belted cardigan.

  37. Does anyone own the ribbon script coat? Can you comment on the fit? Boxy? TTS? Runs large? TIA!

  39. I do remember someone doing a review of the ribbon script coat on this blog even I think when it first came out. There were some quality issues with the ribbon and the person thought the quality overall was poor. Maybe it was just the one she got but I wouldn't want to chance it myself...

    ReplyDelete
  40. New arrivals will be online tomorrow for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I have the ribbon script coat in antique stone, its pretty nice, get a lot of compliments. I really like the color its unique and goes well with light colors. The fit is tailored, I got a P0, I could have been fine with a P2 though. Ema got the same color coat in the sample sale and has positive reviews of it on her blog.

  42. looks like the page is being updated now with new arrivals? how exciting :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. 30% off Final Sale and free shipping over $150 is extended until Sunday. And New Arrivals are online now too!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don't really see anything new...

    ReplyDelete
  45. OK, I know I saw both the extended promo message and new arrivals but now neither is there... Must have caught it mid-update.

  46. Good Lord...when all is said and done, 4 long sleeved cashmere crews, 1 short sleeved, perfect pencil skirt, 3 pairs matchstick cords, juliet tortie pumps (4am pop back that I would have sold my soul for) and satin ballet flats. Some of these were in the B&M for what seemed like pennies on the dollar, a total of about $540. Love the 30% off, even if my checkbook doesn't!

New stuff in the store tonight, great khaki skirt with black tuxedo stripes down the sides (and hot pink lining!) that I hadn't seen in any of the previews. Not sure what they look like IRL, but am craving the wingtips shown in the lookbook. Anyone seen them?

Woohoo! Just saw the post about new arrivals!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Cool the 30% off is extended. I was so on the fence about certain items that I didn't order them. Now I may after all!

Oh and spring arrivals are up!

    ReplyDelete
  48. And New Arrivals are now showing. So I wasn't losing my mind. ;)
