J.Crew Email: New styles added to final sale

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Marietta, Jaden, & truLuxe, who let us know the following news.

The Final Sale section (click here) updated this morning with quite a number of additions and markdowns. As usual, items are quickly selling out. :)

Like so many of you, I had a whole cart full of goodies this morning but couldn't go through with the purchase without a free shipping code. So I passed instead. :( Dear J.Crew, now is a really good time to offer one of your free shipping code promotions! :)

The additional 20% off promotion may have ended online, but an additional 30% percent off is still going on in J.Crew's brick & mortar (B&M) stores. (Although, sale inventory may be low and limited.)

Will you be checking out the sale section? Did you score some items from the sale section this morning? If so, please share! :)

  1. I'm waiting for a free shipping code! Can't quite pull the trigger without it!

  2. 0 for 3 today. Lost two jewelry popbacks while rushing to check out, and then waited on the pixies while I looked for FS code. Lost those too. Sigh. Guess I'll try again tomorrow....

  3. I didn't see that many new items added. Also, a lot of items that have been sitting in the sale section for weeks/months now still have not had additional markdowns. For the first time in a while, there's nothing at all I'm interested in buying (at least at the current prices).

OT, for any of the ladies taking advantage of the Ann Taylor sale bargains, here's a code for 20% off any $100 order: 108020486. It works on top of the extra 25% off sale. I used it yesterday and got 2 of the cashmere cardigans for $18 each! They're also having free ship on $150, no code needed.

  4. Was at the store just now... 30% off still going on... but didn't really see any new items added to the sale section. I just returned the Metropolitan suede booties in size 7 1/2 @ the Madison 45St store in NYC. If anyone is looking for it, give the store a call... it's $149.99 plus 30% off.

  5. Wanted the cashmere shawl popover in cinnamon spice, but couldn't do it without free shipping (or something). Instead got a pair of 3" shorts in dark ochre and forked over $6 for shipping.

  6. Ha! Forbes Magazine called us a "cult." Guess I'd buy into that. I also have more than 50 J.Crew sweaters, just like the woaman they interviewed. Speaking of which, who is this woman they interviewed? She should definitely e a JCA if she isn't already! We must recruit! :)

"while most retailers have been suffering through this millennium's version of the Great Depression, J.Crew is having its golden era."

  7. Can anyone comment on the Odessa tunic? I was tempted when it was an add'l 20% but couldn't pull the trigger on final sale. Thanks!

  8. Can anybody comment on the wool twill club pant? I'm super interested, especially now that the heather stone color is back in my size.

  9. Hi Heidi, really? 40% off? The store I went to is 30% off... I checked with the SA as well. Does anyone see 40% off in store as well?

  10. Has anyone seen the Stone Garden clutches in person? I like both of the colors, but am worried that the satin might look kind of chintzy in person. I'm also surprised to see it in Final Sale already.

  11. RatsOnParade: Interesting article. They actually contacted me but I would only be interviewed by email (as to not reveal myself). I never heard back from them. Oh well! ;)

  12. I didn't see anything of interest added today, and I'm even less interested without a free ship code at the very least. With the screwups I've experienced lately and the disparity of pricing instore vs. online I'm thinking a JC ban may be a nice palate cleanser for spring.

Oh, I did notice that the feather pin/barrette hybrid popped back this morning, I think someone was looking for them on the exchange earlier this week. If you didn't catch one today, I'd keep an eye out since they seem to come and go often. They really are cute in person, I didn't get one solely because it would become a cat toy in my house.

  13. Ashley,

I've seen both colors of the Stone Garden clutch and they are gorgeous in person! I have the brown one...I figured I could use it with more items in my closet. The satin looks very nice, not cheap. Beautiful item to own, especially at the sale price...just wish there was a free shipping or 20% off to go with it!

  14. RatsOnParade, thanks for the links to the Forbes article! My fave line: "J.Crew's biggest fans wax poetic about J.Crew's reliable sizes, which allow them to shop easily online." Was this a quote from '07?

  15. Thanks for the feedback! I'm hoping there will be a new code before they sell out.

  16. It seems that outerwear always gets fully restocked after a % off code expires. 20% or 25% off a tee or sweater is probably worth it to move the stock, but I guess they don't wanna take such a hit on items that are $200+ even on sale.

  17. Cass,
Wish I would have had that code yesterday:( How do you get them?

  18. Kristin: I got the Odessa Tunic in white but it's going back... I just can't pull off a tunic style since this is not that flattering and doesn't seem to be very versatile. I need to have to style an item few different ways to keep it. HTH!

  19. Also had a cart full of stuff I've been waiting for, but couldn't pull the trigger without free shipping.

Even a flat rate shipping wouldn't have been bad. But $18.50 is hard to swallow these days.

  20. Thank you jcrewphd. I was drinking the crewlade with the great price reduction on that piece. I should know better by now to not buy stuff online final sale that I have not tried on first! I think I will pass and hopefully find something in the upcoming rollout instead! Thank you so much for responding!!

  21. Monica, I have a pair of those pants.

The Good: they're comfortable, not itchy, and look good.

The Bad: they pill, starting after one wearing. I have pilling at the inner thighs and pockets. That said, I'd buy another pair of these at the $39 price. Yes, the pilling stinks but it hasn't been horrible in my case, and it's mostly in places that people don't generally see.

  22. co-signing all the comments about having a cart full of stuff but i can't pull the trigger on final sale items that may get sent to me defective. i also shy away from online shopping because of the ridiculous shipping costs for featherweight items.

  23. I fighting the urge to place an order. I, too, cannot justify paying such high shipping costs when other retailers are providing free or discounted s&h. Now, a % off code and FS will make me toast!

  24. Summer, sorry I wanted to post the code yesterday but lost the coupon in the mass of papers on my desk! I am on AT's snail mail list and I get these postcards in the mail with coupons good for both online and in-store. I got this one that way too.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Cass,

I noticed AT marked the same cashmere sweaters back up to $49 that were MUCH less at $29yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Summer, AT marked the sweaters up yesterday, while I was in the process of checking out! I was furious and, no surprise, I didn't complete my order. I was so mad that I e-mailed their cs to complain and some smartass responded with a link to their cheapest synthetic clearance sweater, which annoyed me even more. It's just as well. As I've said before, I never buy from AT because their clothes don't fit me properly. I was willing to give them another try, but the price increase and rude cs quickly squashed that crazy idea.

  27. A couple of the items in my cart were marked down, but I won't get them without a percent off (and hopefully, a free shipping code). I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that the items don't sell out. :)

  28. I was finally able to snag the Eden blazer in the olive color-yay!

I am a complete polyvore spaz, so I'm having trouble finding sets with this jacket to give me outfit ideas...does anyone have or know or some sets they can direct me to? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Summer, I think it's the petite sweaters that are still at 59, and the regular size ones sold out at 29. I noticed yesterday that the petite size ones were more expensive than the regular ones. Maybe they think women who need petites are willing to pay more b/c their sizes are harder to find.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Also, the regular cardi that was 29 was final sale, whereas the petite cardi at 59 is not final sale.

    ReplyDelete
  31. AppGal: I don't know of many Olive Eden Blazer polyvores, but maybe you can find some Olive Ecole blazer sets to help you out??? Good luck!!! I love olive with copper and cream colors...almost textural in look...

  32. I refuse to buy without an extra percent off code. The items I want are only like 15% lower than FP so... not really worth it without.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wool duffle coat in my size gone again :(( I was all ready to go to the store and try to order it on the red phone for the additional percent off, but at least it sold out before I went. This whole waiting for popbacks process is craziness!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Cass,
No,it was the regular ones that went back up in price as well. There was a large and XL today and I called customer service to see about another color that was not available/sold out yesterday but was now in stock today.

  35. Ack, I succumbed to the crewlade. Bought 2 perfect long sleeve crewneck tees @ $12.99 because I have come to the conclusion that these are my "go to" tees as a base layer for so many outfits. And in comparison to my 2008 fitted tees, these perfect tees actually hold their shape! I figure with 2-4 of my older tees getting stretched out, I can donate those and keep the new ones...even with the $8+ shipping :(

Interestingly, while ordering online, these - in particular - don't show up as final sale. I know it says so in the teeny-tiny print on the sale page, but the notation didn't follow through on any part of my order...strange...

  36. Kristin - I got the Odessa tunic & it's a keeper. It said relaxed fit in the description, so I went with a 2 without calling CS first for measurements. I'll try to photograph it today and get it up tonite or tomorrow. I'm a 34C and 5'2"

  38. Gigi - thank you so much! I was at Old Navy today and tried on a tunic but the print was just too loud for me. It did get me thinking about the JC one again. I saw the words "relaxed fit" in the description and figured that was code for me to size down. I'll be watching your blog for pictures! Thanks again!! I just love this JCA group!!

  39. Kristin - The irl pics are up on the Odessa in this post.
