J.Crew Email: ENDS TOMORROW. Extra 20% off final sale & FREE SHIPPING.

J.Crew sent an email this morning reminding us about the offer to take 20% off any Final Sale purchase {no minimum} and free shipping {on $150+, *after*any discount is applied} with promo code EXTRA20. This offer is good through Sunday, 1/3/10.

During the past few days, the Final Sale section (click here to shop online) was updated a few times too! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion before it ends this Sunday? Are there any sale items you are interested in getting?

  1. Small update this morning and none of the popbacks I'm looking for. As I recall there is never much of an update on Sundays so I think I have missed the boat on this deal. I considered the Charlie ruffled mary janes but without any JCA advice on fit I won't take the chance on FS. There are some other great deals out there that are calling my name. As much as I love J.Crew we are not exclusive. ;-)

  2. I'm curious if they'll do a big sale update tomorrow with some new additions. I did get a lot with this latest promotions--definitely some good deals and fun popbacks. But I'm hoping a few more of the cashmere colors and the perfect pencils will go on sale.

  3. I've gotten some great items with this promotion but I have to say my credit card is going to thank me when the promotion ends!

  4. Other then the cashmere cardigan in navy (gosh darn it, where are the markdowns! These were ~$120 at this point last year!), I'm done with JC's winter offerings. I'm ready for the next big rollout.

  5. Nothing for me, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, if anyone sees a long sherpa hoodie in the light brown color, M or L, can you pleeeeease pick it up for me & I'll pay you for it? Same goes for a Collier top in light amethyst, 8 or 10. Gracias!!! :-)

I also wanted to mention I have a few JC auctions running on eBay right now, my username is mmehamill. I don't usually post much for sale at any one time but I'm trying to clear out a lot in the next few weeks. Mostly 6s, 8s, 10s and Ms. If you buy or win something, identify yourself as a JCA and you get free shipping. Thanks! :-D

  6. Are you kidding...the big update will come after the promo ends. *lol*

  7. Gigi--oops, yes, I meant Monday, when the promo ends. I keep thinking today is Sunday :)

Even without the promo, if the new sale prices are good, I'll probably go for a few things. This is my favorite time of year for JCrew sales.

  8. I have a JCrew gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket, but I've purchased so many new things lately (most of which are still unworn) that I can't get excited about shopping right now.

  9. I did order early this morning for a dress and some crewcut tees for my girl. I would like to see more items on sale but then I'm sure it will be there once this promo ends.

O/T: I'm in search of Flannel Ruffle Cascade jacket in heather carbon sz 2. I have a 4 but I need a smaller size. If you see one at a store could you hold it for me? TIA!

  10. jcmama -- I have the flannel cascade in size 2. It's in my return bag. Email me gigiofca at gmail

  11. The update was really in the wee hours! I got up at 3:30 a.m. to let my dog out and it had already hit. (I know, obsessive to look at your computer as the puppy is peeing!) If the popbacks I want hit tomorrow, which is unlikely, I'll bite. Otherwise I'm done for now.

  12. I too am waiting for a price drop on the cashmere cardigan.

    ReplyDelete
  13. If anyone sees the dapple dot cardigan 19804 in XS or S could you please tell me which store it is? I have been searching for it for a week and still now result~~~

    ReplyDelete
  14. There have definitely been some really great popbacks during this promotion. I was able to get the Metallic Tweed Charmed Mini Bag a couple days ago and I'm really excited since I've been stalking it for awhile now.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I agree with Gigiofca and Lauren, the big sale update will be Monday or Tuesday after the 20% ends. I picked up a few things but not much and nothing really exciting - just a few basics. I too am waiting for the rest of the cashmere to be reduced.

  16. jcmamma,
I am interested in the flannel cascade in a size 4

  17. Hi Elaine, I did see the Collier top in light amethyst both in size 8 & 10 in the Columbus Circle store this afternoon. You should give them a call. The store also has many other styles like the Kelsey ruffle cami in cinnamon spice, Gypsy rose cami, Evie ruffle top, dotted jacquard pencil skirt, annalise cami, wool ribbon script coat, ruffle front coat, crinkle cascade dress, shirred wool skirt, double cloth carlin coat & the pearl gray schoolboy blazer in many sizes... didn't really check through each of them but you might have better luck calling this store if you're looking for any items that are currently on sale.

  18. Jean, thank you soooooooo much! I will call Columbus Circle in the morning and see if they still have it, wheeeeeeeeee! I hope they do. :-D

  19. OT - Does anyone know when rewards are headed our way???

    ReplyDelete
  20. We should get our rewards cards end of January and then good for about six weeks. Rewards will expire around March 15.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Susan and Genny and others that have J. Crew credit cards: I'm getting my first rewards card this cycle. Do you mind explaining what happens to your rewards card if you want to return the item(s) you bought with it? Do you get credit back or do your rewards just disappear? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Michelle - I used my $50 rewards card recently on something about $65... when I returned it, the entire purchase price went back on my JC credit card. Had to help!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lindsey,
That is not the norm or the rule. Somehow you got "lucky". If you make a return with your rewards card...the amount of the rewards only goes onto a gift card. The rest of the money over that amount goes back in the form of your original payment. Just check with store reps or CS phone reps- that is how it should be....

  24. I've been stalking the Stripe Dolce sweater in S in blossom and/or pewter to no avail. I won't be surprised if they restock it after the sale:(

    ReplyDelete
  25. They'll restock a lot of stuff after the sale. They're trying to get rid of unpopular or extra merchandise. I'm sure there'll be a huge update tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Does anyone own one of the wool Griffin coats? I am thinking of ordering it in black or carbon in a 2. I am 5'4" and fairly petite and usually wear XS/S/0/2 in most JCrew clothes. Just wondering about sizing on this one. I understand it is not a super thick coat, but we are in TX and I don't need a heavy, heavy coat. It's sitting in my shopping basket along with the totoise watercolor pencil skirt and the white Odessa tunic!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Michelle, I'm not sure because I only use my rewards cards on items I know that I really really really want. Having a B&M nearby is super helpful since I can try one. I normally have one return everytime I order online.

As a sidenote - I returned an item I bought earliers this fall at BR. I had used a $10 reward. I totally didn't get that back in any way, shape or form. It was only 10 bucks, so no biggie, but I will be sure to not use rewards for impulse buys ever again. LOL.

  28. Good morning JCAs, ITA that there will be bigger update after EXTRA20, so typical of JC. OT on new arrivals, can anyone comment on the Beacon bags? I'm shopping for a new Spring bag, but I'm on the fence on these ... I wish the NON-metallic Beacon purse had the studded strap, it needs a little jazzing up. Also it's difficult to judge size ... are they HUGE? Any help appreciated.

  29. Whoever was looking for the terra paisley perfect shirt, there is one on eBay that is a size 2. Seller's name is fancythistoo. HTHs someone....

    ReplyDelete
  30. As many of you predicted, there was no update today. Well, I take that back. Somewhere around 1:00 a.m. I saw about 10 things pop up. Nothing substantial. I'm sure there will be a huge restock tomorrow when 20% is over! On the other hand, the things I want to popback are already marked down and I won't really mind picking them up even without the 20% off. Good luck to all of you stalking tomorrow!

  31. Susan- I bet you did get the BR rewards back you just didn't notice. With BR/GAP when you return something you bought with rewards the points for that rewards card go back on your account, so the next billing cycle, if you have enough points for another rewards then you get it back. Sometimes, if you return something that was BR/Gap after the rewards were issued you may have a negative rewards balance, so you might not get the rewards card back immediately. But you most certainly do get back the 1000 points or whatever it takes to get the BR rewards.

With Jcrew I got the rewards back on a gift card once and another time I just exchanged the unwanted item that I paid for with rewards for another.

  32. Just to confirm about rewards cards--it is supposed to be JC policy that refunds on purchases made w/rewards cards are refunded in the form of a gift card first, up to the amount of the rewards card. I called recently to check on this. It's very annoying if you use a rewards card to contribute to a purchase of several items (as the free shipping policies force us to do) and then have to return one of them. I won't do that again.

  33. Hello! I am a newbie here and would really appreciate your help. Can anyone please identify the shirt underneath the Textured Jersey bouquet t-shirt. I don't need the T but would love that shirt! TIA and thanks to Alexis for this wonderful site!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hi Contessa - I think it's the strada fan placket perfect shirt (item #20212), which is currently sold out.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks Silver Lining! It will now be an official EBAY search shirt...I love it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Susan - I'm with Din Din. You probably did get credit for the BR Reward. I returned something a couple weeks ago and haven't bought anything. I just got the reward again in the mail yesterday, as a matter of fact. If had returned a bunch of stuff, I would have lost the credit, I believe.

Contessa - That black & white shirt is a perfect fit buttondown. I think it's from Oct or Nov. I looked for a pic on my blog, but I can't find it to get the style number for you. It's been sold out for awhile and I don't recall it going to a sale price.

  37. silver_lining - You rock! JCAs are awesome :-)

Contessa - Now that silver_lining provided the style number, you can see a full pic on my blog.

  38. JCAs, has anyone tried the Jardin jacquard pencil skirt? The pattern looks gorgeous, but I'm not sure I'm ready to pull the trigger as it's FS. TIA for any words of wisdom!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I missed most of the updates on this one so I'll have to be happy with my Winnie jacket, which should be arriving tomorrow. I have a whole whack of returns to ship off as it is. After reading Wardrobe Review blog my NY resolution is to shop with more of a strategy and less impulse. Especially now that final sale is back.

  40. I wish they had model pictures on all the cashmere sweaters. Wonder why so many are missing? I need to know how far down some of these sweaters go since I'm short-waisted. Has anyone seen the length on the cashmere scooped v-neck sweater? The popover is way too long.

  41. Emily, I have jardin jaquard skirt and it fits me like all other JC pencil skirts so i'd say TTS. I love it and it looks like flower prints are going to be big spring 2010. It is great price now too imo. this is a special skirt that will get noticed so don't buy if you afraid of flower prints, just my .02

    ReplyDelete
  42. Emily, I have tried the Jardin pencil skirt and like the pattern, which looks more spring like to me than winter. If you're interested, i would advise calling JC for the measurements. It's a bit narrower (and less forgiving because of the fabric) than the Blush Tweed or Rosebud skirts, and being in between sizes, i sized up in the Jardin.

  43. Check this out ..http://apparelanatomy.blogspot.com/

    Love J.Crew!

  44. I rec'd the jardin pencil skirt for Christmas ... Like Cleo stated, I also had to go up in size ... it's a beautiful piece & so worth the current price!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Contessa - I have seen that shirt on sale in stores. It's been a few days, but try calling Bellevue Square, WA for starters. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I managed to get quite a few good deals from this offer. Toothpick ankle cords, matchstick cords, Boulevard trench, Lexi clutch and vintage cord pencil skirt. I could have definitely bought more if the right popbacks had shown up but I guess we will see them next week.

Appreciate all the advice and information on this site. Thank you Alexis and all JCAs! Here's to much more of the same in 2010. Cheers!

  47. Ok I am back (had to go to the gym to workout the holidays!)
Gigi--Loved the photo of the shirt! Makes me sad that I may not find it but I am off for a search thanks to..

Kristin--I am on the horn with bellevue right now!

Again...thanks to all you JCA's. Truly awesome bunch and wish me luck!

  48. I am debating between the Wool-cashmere Station Coat in Camel and the Double-cloth Lady day coat with Thinsulate in Black. I like the length and Thinsulate option of Lady day, but I like the double-breastedness of Station for warmth. I am also unsure of size. I am 5'7", 135lbs pear shaped. I wear a 6 in the Francie skirt, and am most comfortable in medium size sweaters and tops. Do these run true to size-charts? Should I order a 6 or 8?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Katherine, I can't comment on the Station coat but IMO the Lady Day runs small in the shoulders and I would err on the side of larger rather than smaller.

    ReplyDelete
  50. With a coat I would order the larger size as well esp. for layering in colder climates.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Katherine, I have the Lady Day coat from a couple years ago and there is no room to spare in the shoulders or bust. I took my usual size, although I have a larger bust and shoulders and I can wear it easily enough but definitely no layering underneath. If in doubt or planning to layer, SU in the Lady Day. Also, the double-cloth is a lovely fabric, very refined, but not as warm as the wool-cashmere, IMO. Still, you can't go wrong with the classic style of the Lady Day. It's so feminine and flattering.

Would love to hear a review if you purchase the Station Coat.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Katherine, I just realized you are considering the Lady Day with Thinsulate and the one I have is without. Not sure how it fits with Thinsulate. I found my Plaza coat with Thinsulate to be a little snugger than other coats in the same size, without the extra lining. Hopefully someone here can comment on the Thinsulate model.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I have a Lady Day with THinsulate and you definitely need to size up one size.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Katherine, i ordered the station coat in camel specifically for a trip i was taking to Indiana (it was snowing and i didn't own a proper warm coat since i am from southern california). Anyway, i am petite 5'2, usually a size 0-2 and so i ordered a P0. I would say it fits TTS, if not for the sleeves being a bit tad short. I was able to layer (simple long sleeve shirt & sweater) and it kept me very warm on said trip, snow and all. I loved the gold buttons and the camel color goes with everything, very stylish IMO. I was so happy with how it looks that i also ordered it in navy.

    Hope this helps!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I have a Lady Day Coat with thinsulate in a size 6, and it is rather snug on top. I am 5' 5" 125lbs, and I usually wear JCrew tops in size small. I even have a couple of blouses size 0 and 2.

I wish I had gotten the size 8.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I agree with the others about sizing up with the Lady Day coat, especially with thinsulate. I ordered my regular size and if I wear anything more than a tee underneath, it feels tight. That really limits it's usefulness.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I was at Towson b&m last evening and 20% off final sale items was still in effect.

There was one Wool herringbone professor blazer in the color carbon, size 4 (must have been an internet return) in the 20% sale section, if anyone is seeking this blazer. I would've tried it on but the size 4 looked tiny.

    ReplyDelete
  58. ladies,

I need your help with deciding what item to return. I purchased the matchstick cords toothpick in black which I love. However, I also purchased the vintage matchstick skinny leg cords in faded black(off black) and shadow(dark grey). Should I keep the faded black or shadow? I don't 3 pair of cords!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thanks gigiofca!

I think I like the grey(shadow) cords better.
