Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the WINTER & HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new RESORT arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

P.S.S. Happy New Year J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados!

  1. Happy New Year for you too!!!
I wore Collection; the Tricolor Fantine Dress plus the metallic mary janes , you can see it on my last blog post.
    Have a great day!

  2. Happy New Year Alexis. Thanks for another great year of this blog. You put a lot of effort in and it truly is appreciated!!

  3. Happy New Year right back! Thanks for all the fun and help in the last year, here's to many to come.

Just scored the silver metallic Joleys, a cord pencil skirt, and a couple other goodies online. Only a CC tee was marked with the FS red ink, so yea! I'm headed to the Somerset Collection later today, I've got my fingers crossed for more sweet deals.

  4. Happy new year, fellow JCAs! after the damage I did during final sale this week, I'm cut off. Like, cut OFF cut off. I hope to be able to resist buying anything else at least until March. I have a $57 credit that will be burning a hole in my pocket until then, but I've got so much stuff I'm just going to fight the urge for as long as I can. :-) This week brought me 3 LBDs -- the wool ravine dress, the Madeline dress ($99 on eBay, which is more than I'd normally spend but I'd been wanting it for a while) and another wool gab dress I got yesterday, the one with the deep V neck and the cowl-y drape in front of the V....I need to cool it now. :-)

  5. I stopped by the B&M yesterday and got the beaded collier top at an extra 20% off, and the new canvas tote that just came out with the resort rollout. The tote is very sturdy, and came in white, tan, and dusty lavender/pink.

  6. Hi Elaine, are you the one who's looking for the collier top in ivory? I saw the size 0 yesterday at the store.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'll be going in to the B&M tomorrow to see what new releases have hit the store. I'd like to try on the scalloped petals top, I think that will be a nice piece for me for summer. I'll visit the sale rack, of course. I'm also going to hit Anthropologie. They just released new items this week as well and a few skirts are calling my name.

Can anyone comment on the superfine cotton and crosshatch cotton suiting? I'm wondering how it holds up wrinkle-wise.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Somerset last week didn't have much :( but maybe they have added more to their sale! I did much better at the Partridge Creek JCrew.

Last week I got the perfect pencil skirt in cinnamon stick for about $56, that was nice. I want one of the short sherpa lined puffers but only the icky color is on sale and the only store who had it in my size was only running 20% off sale instead of 30% off. So lame!

I might run over to the outlet today to return a couple things... I'll report back if there is anything good.

  9. Hi Jean, I am seeking the Collier top, but I need an 8 or a 10. I think tomorrow I'm going to call CS back (assuming they're closed today; does anyone know for sure?) and have them do a we will find it for any of the colors in an 8 and then move on to any of the colors in a 10 ... and if I get all 3, that's fine by me. Should have just done that in the first place, grrrrr......

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hi Desert Flower! I saw that you asked me about the superfine suiting a couple of posts back, it got lost in my holiday shuffle. :)

I found it to be thick and have a very slight sheen - not like sateen, but just enough to make it look nice and dressy, like a suit should be. I have the jacket, skirt, and pants and found them to be quite wrinkle-resistant as I wore them. By contrast, the sateen pencil skirt I felt wrinkled up significantly. I will likely give the beechwood pieces a try this year! My only fear is that JC found a way to 'cheap out' on the quality while keeping the price points the same. :\ I think that the crosshatch is probably their '10 name for the birch-cloth but haven't tried it so I can't speak to how it looks/holds up.

Happy New Year, JCAs! This place has been a fantastic resource and a great place for camraderie.

  11. Stopped by the Georgetown DC store 2 days ago and they have the Frances Cami in the rose color which is no longer available online. I picked up one and a pearl bracelet for $12. Lots of jewelry, earrings and necklaces with the large stones on sale. Black schoolboy jackets for $79.

Not a lot out in the way of new arrivals.

    ReplyDelete
  12. FYI: the website updated around 4:30 Eastern time today.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Thank you, Silver Lining! I think I will give the pieces a try. I live in the southwest so I'm always looking for lighter yet professional pencil skirts to wear during the hot months. I appreciate the input. I also hope the quality is the same as what you experienced last year!

I have a birch cloth skirt from last year by the way, and it stays looking fairly nice all day. I caught it on sale last year.

As an aside, I am sure this isn't going to happen, but if anyone sees Maya cardis on sale in their store in XS, pretty much any color, please put on hold and post here! I'm looking for a friend in Canada who is desperate.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Frances Cami though was regular priced but worth it!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ooh, I reached my limit with final sale lately. Phew! Got the floral fan placket perfect shirt and a couple purses, among other things. I don't plan on shopping JC for at least a month (but hopefully more). That should be easy because I didn't see anything in the latest roll out.

  16. Happy New Year Everyone! Alexis, thank you for a great year with the blog. As the J Crew website says, my closet thanks you too!

Am definitely heading to my B&M this week-end. I want to see the resort wear, especially the gingham perfect shirt.

  17. I went to the Pacific place seattle store last night. They have quite a lot in the sale section with an extra 20% off, mostly basics though.
    Aqua cashmere tees for $64
Other colors of cashmere tees for $80
Dolce sweaters for $40, I think.
A black professor blazer size 0 for $80.
I almost bought the blazer but then they reminded me that it was final sale and I said forget it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. If anyone sees the boyfriend blazer in size 10 in a B&M, please let me know. It's on sale in stores, but not online. Definitely not paying full price!

    Thanks!

  19. OT - does anyone have the Charlie Mary Janes? Are they TTS?

    Thanks!

  20. Happy New Year's, ladies! (And gentlemen.)

5th Ave J. Crew was so calm today and the back of the store (minus where that shoe section is) was basically all on sale, extra 20% off, final sale. Pretty well stocked: I noticed a lot of the red/black peacoats and short coats as well as a few Crosbys.

Got a pair of Sally pearlized flats for $39.99 (they have about 4 size 9s left, great deal!) and a pair of boxers for the BF for $5.

  21. Happy New Year All!!!!

Searching for the beaded ribbon top in a 6. If ayone sees one can you put on hold for Debra and email me at Itsmelealee@gmail.com Thanks so much.

  22. Wow, I went to the "big mall" (Somerset) and returned way more than I bought. The sale room was an echo chamber, a table with a few ten dollar chinos, some very familiar to the sale section tees, and some twenty dollar cords. For once, the instore prices seemed to match online except for the suede ballet flats, which were $49.99 before the percent off. Not many sizes left, though. (Anthro was sad too, ornaments were 75% off original prices so I got some for next year, but nothing else.)

The cutest thing from resort that I hadn't seen online was a sleeveless cotton/modal empire dress, with a crew/jewel neck and a ruffled bib. Looked to be knee-ish length and I saw black and grey. I think it was $68 or so, so I'll keep tabs on it until it gets in the $30 range. It was cute, but certainly not full price cute. The new tees are on the meh side for me, more of the same old. The new rosette is quite cute though, I wish I'd held out for the Vneck.
Oh! And that stained glass cardi is SHARP in person! Very cute, nice color palette. I loved the comment the other day about the resemblance to the Partridge Family, great reference!

  23. OK, I know where all the sale stuff is hiding out! Just came from Columbus Circle B&M and literally half of the entire first floor (which is women's) is sale. It looks like they shipped all the sale stuff from other stores over there. Multiple sizes and colors in many different items, including collection pieces. They also had a wall filled with jewelry on sale. They had a lot of the pastiche bracelets and necklaces, but I wouldn't recommend them because a lot of them had broken chains hanging off. They also had a lot of the shadow facet necklaces, 99.99 - 20%; but beware it is HUGE IRL. I snagged the last garland bracelet on sale. Also had a lot of bangle bracelets on sale and bunch of cute headbands for $6.99.

  24. Happy New Year, Alexis! Thanks for keeping up this blog since it has definitely been a joy for me to read daily! Wishing you the best in the new year!

My B&M didn't have much sale section left so nothing to note there.... I wish they'd carry shoes since online is much expensive...

  25. Happy New Year everyone! May I echo jcma in a special thanks to you, Alexis, for being the Keeper of All Crewknowledge, as well as keeping us current on all those shipping codes. May the New Year bring happiness, peace , prosperity and beautiful(and great fitting- hear that J. Crew?) shoes to all!

  26. Happy New Year, JCAs!

I received my petite annalise ruffle cami in cinnamon spice and it's gorgeous! DH even commented on it and that's a rarity! :) Wore it last night with denim and felt nicely dressed up without being overdressed. This sounds so pathetic, but I never paid attention to those little bra strap snaps in the camis (please tell me that they are not in all of them, because then I will feel like a real idiot! ;D), but it just made the fit perfect -- I highly recommend trying both regular and petite in-store for this top because I found that the petite does make a difference in terms of look/fit.

I pre-ordered the skimmer pant in black in petite after trying the regular on in store...had to size down in-store, so ordered accordingly (my regular petite size and one size down), just in case. I will comment on fit when I receive them.

FYI, the silk bouquet sash is lovely IRL...Although I ended up not wearing it last night, I can see a number of styling possibilities with this. A nice deal with the 20% off, even though final sale.

And just wanted to quickly take this opportunity to thank you, Alexis, for your fantastic blog...it's a fun and valuable resource for so many of us! :)

  27. I found the NEW Victoria ruffle tissue cami ($39.50) at the Kittery, Maine outlet a few days ago for $25. They were almost all size Small and X-Small but I managed to get one in my size. It's a cotton/poly knit.

BTW, does anyone know what skirt this is? It's on the website with the Herringbone Frances Cami (the skirt is a straight, plain white, looks like wool).

  28. truLuxe, it looks like the felted wool bistro mini. On-seam side pockets and the wide hem piece that you can just see the top of in the side view of the Frances cami. It's a great skirt.

  30. I looooooooove the Columbus Circle store. I discovered it when staying right on the same block in Jan. of last year (at the Hudson Hotel)...it's such a beautifl store. And I think they do ship clearance stuff there, they usually ship it to underperforming stores -- and of course the Crews elsewhere in the city have hardly any sale stuff at all. ahhhhhhh. I miss NY!

  31. Just popping in to wish you all a Happy New Year! Hope 2010 is the year that JCrew comes to Canada (a longshot, but a girl can dream!) :)

  34. Oh happy day, CS found the ivory collier top for me as a consolation prize for my screwed up order...! So I quickly called CS once I got the notification and deftly convinced the CS rep to do a find it for the same top in the amethyst and wild blackberry colors. Hehehehehe. He was all, 'we're really not supposed to do this...' but then he hooked me up anyway. I tried pushing my luck to have him help me find a long sherpa hoodie but no dice. :-/ If anyone spots one in the brown color (not sure what the same is but it's light brown) in a Med or Lg please snatch it up and I'll Paypal you the $$ :-D

  36. My B&M(Barton Creek Square is Austin is closest) has very little in the Sale section. One of the SAs told me that returns are quickly snatched up by the SAs. However, I got a Sherpa hoodie and two pairs of pj pants that had been in their window during the holiday season....marked down and then 20% off. I also got a v neck cashmere ruffle vest
( a holiday return) in navy for 19.99 less 20 %.....You just have to be in the right place at the right time!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi Marymoo, I remembered seeing many of the annalise cami in the cinnamon spice color @ the Madison Ave 45th St & Prince St store in NYC. I didn't check the sizes... they're on sale for $49.99 with extra 20%.

Did anyone realize that JC adjusted the prices as well in stores? I thought the schoolboy blazer in carbon color was on sale for $69.99... but I went to 2 stores and they have been ringing it up @ regular price yet they placed the blazer at the sale section! Did any of you see that this blazer is currently marked with sale price at your local b&m?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jean, I tried to purchase the annalise cami in cinnamon spice the other day. I thought I recalled others who had purchased it for $19.99 but it was ringing up full price for me. It was also in the sale section too so I was pretty confused.

  40. Happy New Year Alexis and all Aficionadas & Aficionados! :)

Alexis: Thank you so much for your wonderful blog and the time you put into it...you ROCK!

I won't be going to my J.Crew this weekend since the sale section rarely has anything in my size in it and there isn't anything I *have* to try from the new rollout, either. I do appreciate hearing all the reports from everyone who does go...thank you!
Also, congratulations to all of you who have found great deals! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yea, I went to another store trying to get the annalise cami in cinnamon spice for my cousin and the manager said it was at full price and that was before the final sale began. I told him I was able to get it @ $19.99 from the Madison 45 St store... he double checked the system and assured me that the Madison store had made a mistake and told me that I got a great deal! Then I went back to the Madison store the next day, the cami was back @ full price. I guess they did make a mistake... the same thing happened to the Metropolitan suede booties in birch color. I was told (by a SA in store) that this color was on sale for $149.99 then when the final sale started, it's back on full price. So weird...

  42. does anyone's store still have the stretch olive flannel tops? i'm so sad i missed this. i went on vacation and dropped off the jcrew planet. i went to my store yesterday--they had one, a size 6. i need a size 4. booooo

    ReplyDelete
  43. I just back from the J Crew Santa Monica store. The whole back section is sale, with an extra 20 percent off. Everything was pretty picked over, but some good deals could be found in the basics like tees and cords. I didn't find anything really unique.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Krissie, my store had some of those stretch flannel Olive tops the other day but I'm not sure what sizes they had. You can try giving them a call -- it's the Raleigh, NC store at Crabtree Valley Mall. HTHs!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm looking for the Kelsey top in Cinnamon Spice in a size 6. Has anyone seen it at their B&M? I am weary of paying the promotional price and it being FS.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Krissie - I have a size 4 and size 6 Olive top in the darker color, Heather Carbon. Both are NWT and still unworn in plastic on hangers. I did not get them at the lowest sale price. If interested, contact me at justvisiting01@hotmail.com.

  47. Krissie - Elaines right but they have 1 less b/c I bought it. Love it!!

They had 3 as of Thursday in a size 6.

  49. Cass - HUGE thanks for the tip on the Columbus Circle store. I stopped by today and got the Ruffles & Roses Tissue Tank and the Floral fan placket perfect shirt for $60. They have plenty of sweaters, including the Chevalier cardigan (black only) if anyone is looking for it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Has anyone run across a "driving cap" in any of the B&M's? ...all they have online is crewcuts.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I just got back from the B&M at Polaris in Columbus, Ohio, where I scored the flannel banquette dress for $60. The dress fits beautifully (slim, but magically conceals lumps and bumps) and is still full price at $178 online. There is one black in a size 8 if anyone is looking for it.

Otherwise, the store was pretty empty - a bunch of skinny cords for $30 and a handful of tops and sweaters. And no sale jewelry, which was disappointing. My friend commented that the whole back room was a big waste of space.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Just left the Rockefeller store and got a pair of matchstick cords for $24!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Lauren PhD did they have any of the graphite banquette dress? I've been hoping for an on-line price drop on that one forever!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Just got back from Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio. The store was practically empty. No much in the sale section - a few cashmere turtlenecks and v necks. Mostly extra smalls. They had a big table of Jackie's and the new tee's out. The tee's arent' that new - I saw them before Christmas. The ruffled Carly dress was available in gray and there were 2 stained glass cardis. I will second what others have said - it is much pretties in person. The pink in it is really pretty and doesn't stand out online. They had the new popover blouses and canvas bags but that was about it. Not exciting at all. Oh well, my bank account needs a break.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Has anyone seen the Colleen rose flats in a b&m? I'd like to get them for cheaper than the online price if possible. I know that the store prices are often lower... I need them in an 8.5, maybe could do a size 9. TIA!

  56. Visited the Huntington Station, NY (Walt Whitman Mall) B&M today and while the sale section was fairly stripped down, I did see some notable pieces (prices are before 20% discount):
--a rack full of black perfect pencil skirts, mostly in 0s and 2s, for $89.99 (?)
--one black beaded snowflake tee in XL, $29.99
--two black hooded duffle coats, one in size 0 and the other in a size I can't recall, $189.99

    Hope this helps someone. :)

  57. Happy New Years and Good Luck Shopping. Got back from the Gilroy Outlets J.Crew just a couple days ago. The store seemed like it was getting wiped out of the old stuff, and reloaded with new stuff from the Spring 2009 season. A bunch of giraffe print, the safari shirts, and boyfriend military jackets. Good deals on the scarves, cardis, and sweaters too!

There were some grey banquette dresses at the Beachwood OH store - I snagged one for $56! That was on 12/30, but there might be some left.

  59. Lauren S.: No, there weren't any grey banquette dresses at Polaris. Sorry! Good luck with the Beechwood store!

Crewcrazy: Thanks for the update on Easton. I wonder why both JC b&m's in Columbus are so empty right now. Maybe JC has given up on the whole city?

  60. Went to King of Prussia PA store last night. Some new items are out. Especially cute was a shawl collar cardigan sweater in cream with hidden button front 100% cotton $118. There is also another cardigan with open weave at cuffs and hem. very lightweight in nice colors can't remember price. The skipper pants are cute IRL. I really like the popover tops they are a great price. In the sale section (20% off final sale ugh)there are 2 Lady Day coats in sz 12, one black one dusty blossom. The Pretty Poplin Chemise is only $14.99 in all colors. The rest is picked over.

Hoping cashmere goes on markdown soon!

  64. Ran to the waterloo, NY outlet to return something. Came out with a retail HO '07 cambridge cable turtleneck in a pretty pine green for $17 and change. The store was really bare compared to when I went in November. Everything was really cheap. I tried on the outlet version of the golden roses skirt which was marked down to $34.97. It was so ill fitting; I was disappointed. Clearance was an additional 30% off and they also honored my student discount on top of that.

I'm heading to the Jcrew store at Tyson's Corner mall to return the Jack Purcell distressed blue canvas sneakers in a 7.5 (which are men's sizes hence why i am returning them because i need a 6 in these...anyway) So if anyone wants them they will be at the store tomorrow i believe that it is a womens size 9 once again in navy and i bought them online for $65.00 box and receipt will all be there. Hope someone wants this so good luck and if i find some goodies will post asap!
