J.Crew Online: Have you been getting your packages?

It looks like the new website finished its "upgrade." Well it kind of did. The main screen no longer has that message that tells us that they are upgrading their site and offering free shipping. (Will code FREESHIP still work, or has that expired?) However, there are still items in the sale section that aren't available (like the Fiona Jacket for $29.99!)

But this post isn't just to gripe about the imperfect new website (although I am slightly annoyed that its still not working close to 100% after all this time). In fact, this is more about what packages (if any) have you been receiving (some of you mentioned that you have been getting some of your packages.)

If you ordered during the website upgrade, have you received your items yet? Have you gotten any email/ tracking confirmations (and if so, do they work)? And more importantly, if you did receive any items- what were they and how do you like them?

  1. I had placed an order on 6/27...a few days before the big website change. It took a week before the items began to ship out; and then out of the 10 items in my order, each has been shipped separately by UPS...which seems a huge waste of money by J Crew. 2 of the items I ordered haven't even shipped yet and I have no idea if they were lost or just taking a long time. I placed another full price order on July 1 for some chino shorts I really needed for a trip and used the FREESHIP code for that order. I just notice last night that it would ship today, but I have no idea if it's coming UPS, USPS, etc. Hopefully the shorts will make it here by the time I leave for my trip next week! Honestly, I just wish J. Crew could get their act together and things would get back to the familiar and predictable way they used to be handled! Maybe with a little more time....

  2. I just tried a check-out 'test run'to see if the free shipping was still being offered and the site wouldn't let me check out, I got some sort of error message.

  3. I had a waitlisted order for the coppelle bandeau tank that was placed back in the beginning of June. When they switched to the new system, the order got lost. I replaced the order over the phone with a rep. on Mon. 6/30 (luckily for me the item was "suddenly" available- hmm...I wonder if it was my LOST one???) The order showed up immediately online, and showed that it shipped on 7/2 by UPS. The UPS info never got updated past "billing info rec'd". I ended up rec'ing the item on Mon 7/7 (and I love it too). Turns out the UPS # that was on my package was totally diff. from the one in JC's system.

BUT I specifically asked when I replaced the order to note that it was NOT final sale (B/c when I originally placed it in the beginning of June it was not) and the rep said she'd note on the order, and it was not noted. It would have been very annoying for me if I had to return it.

I find it kind of funny that the new site says, " no need to wait by the mailbox"...actually, yeah, DON'T wait by the mailbox b/;c who knows how long you'll be standing there!!!!!!

  4. I have two waitlisted items that are supposed to be shipped by July 4th. Of course, they were not. And because of the system upgrade, I can't track their status anymore (they are orders placed before the upgrade). Now the problem is I am going to close the credit card that I use to pay for the two items, I'm worried that even if the items become available later, and I am lucky enough to stay on the waitlist, they won't sell it to me because they cannot charge to that credit card anymore.

  5. I placed my order July 1st, received a shipping notice with a tracking number July 4th. The tracking number didn't work until the afternoon of July 7th, the day I received the package. Out of curiosity I checked the tracking number yesterday, and it just said "billing information received". I checked this morning and it still says the same thing! I enjoyed the free shipping.

Off topic slightly but has anyone ordered the favorite-fit Keaton pants? They have them on sale in petite and I was thinking about buying them in dark slate or maybe khaki...any input here?

  6. Haven't placed any orders online, just been going to the b&m stores, and I've been pretty luck finding some sale items in stock (i.e the Frances Blouse, Short Sleeve Washed Shirt and the Camilla Sweater Jacket). Plus, it's an additional 25% off, which makes my trip worthwhile.

Another reason why I haven't ordered with them is an issue of security. With all their tinkering, how vulnerable are they to a hacker coming in and crashing their site? It's just a thought..

  7. Didn't order before the upgrade, still not going to - just noticing that the site is still full of typos, broken links to photos, and most of the items that are on sale are showing in the regular section as well. So weird! For example, the Stretch Sateen Pencil Skirt is in the regular "Skirts" section at $88.00, then when you click on it you get the "Select Colors Now $39.99", plus the Final Sale blurb. So weird! If they're in the final sale, just put them there and take them off the regular sections - it's just weird and cluttered. This "upgrade" has just been SAD!

  8. Hey guys,
I am a little frustrated. I ordered my stuff on 6/29 and I still havent received any items yet. According to Jcrew, they were shipped Sunday. The last order I received shipped out of Jersey and came the next day. So I don't understand why I havent received this order. To make matters worse the tracking number doesn't work. I called UPS, they said the package hasn't left the warehouse yet. Then I called Jcrew and they said UPS changed the tracking number, so it can't be tracked. Ugh... any ideas on how to handle this? Thanks

  9. Question: Are people finding their orders from before the upgrade that had a backordered item in them are now cancelled and/or lost? That is my question..guess I need to find out......if that is the case...that is REALLY POOR on JCrew's part.

I was looking through the July catalog just now and thinking "I am just not that excited anymore"....started when the free shipping codes disappeared and now the website upgrade......

I haven't received any packages yet that I placed prior to upgrade....

  10. All this talk of UPS, USPS, and inaccuarte tracking numbers is just crazy! How can a company work this way? I just don't get it? Make me not want to order until I am 100% positive that things are running smoothing/normal.

  12. I am still waiting on two orders. I did get a shipment confirmation for one of them. However when I try to track it on UPS' website it says my tracking # is invaild. I'm going to give it until mail time Friday and then call.

I love J Crew and want this to all work out. But I have to say I am beyond disappointed at this point. I am definitely not a tech person but I think I would have worked out the kinks before I launched a new website.

  13. I got an email yesterday saying my package shipped out on 7/7 that was ordered 6/26. However, when I look at the order details right below the shipping email it says the item won't ship until Aug. 12. I am so confused. I don't think I am even going to bother calling...wait and see at this point....really feeling frustrated beyond belief.

  14. I placed an order from the store red phone on Friday 6/27 and recieved it on Monday 7/7. So it was definitely took about a week longer than usual. They were the critter capri sandals in sweet orange and they were definitely worth the wait. They are adorable!

  15. The website is still completely dysfunctional! The "my account" and "J. Crew Card" hotlinks return JSP_EXECUTION_FAILED errors. This is very frustrating, as they seem to have allowed us to shop but taken away all the customer service!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I placed an order 7/8 and just got my shipping notice this morning. I wasn't sure if it would even ship this week based on others comments and calls to jcrew cs, so hopefully it will get here soon!

  19. I received an order yesterday for which I'm still getting "billing information received" as the tracking status...seems like a problem for UPS, not JCrew.

This order was the third one I placed after the website went down...no clue where the first two are; #1 is listed as being delivered in 2007. :(

    ReplyDelete
  20. Placed two orders on 6/30. I got an email with a (non-existent) UPS tracking number, saying a partial shipment was delivered yesterday (I won't be home to check til today). This is getting exhausting.

  21. I posted this in the other topic...FREESHIP worked on a "mock" checkout this morning, 7/9/08...hope this helps! :)

  24. Once again, I tried to check the status of my order, and I got the JSP_ERROR page!

I ordered on Sunday, and as of yesterday it was still "Open". Very slow!

  25. Morning All,

I did get my boots last night. I never got a shipping confirmation for this package and the website status never changed from submitted. So your packages may be on their way.

This is also a package I ordered after their system went down. I think I ordered it on the 30th (?).

I am still waiting for my mini-patchwork madras jacket, I got a shipping e-mail for that but the tracking number doesn't work. So we shall see when that arrives.

Good luck to everyone who is still missing packages.

    ReplyDelete
  26. freeship still works!!! (as of 8:50), thanks for the tip on the Keaton pant!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Am considering the mini madras jacket as it's so cheap now. Any comments? Does it run true to size?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Just bought the Fiona jacket last nite at my local b&m J. Crew.... I even got an additional 25% off all women's sale-- so it was $22! My J.Crew also had all men's sale an additional 40% off!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Susan: So hard to tell on the true to size. I used to be a 6 in all JC jackets and now I am 4 in almost all of them. I tried it on in the store after I ordered it. I am a 4 in the jacket btw.

Some people have said it looks frumpy (note it is only partially lined). But I rather like the casual look of it. I dont need another dressy jacket. I want something i can wear to a casual bar or out for an evening/day that is more like a sweater.

I think the pattern is fun and its interesting. Though I have never had that much going on in a jacket before. So I am a little nervous about that.

I do love that the jacket is really figure flattering! It actually nips in at my waist, I normally have to have jackets altered in order to have them do that! (32DD plus tiny waist plus some hips does not make me fit into normal jackets... YES my tailor has become my best friend!)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Does anyone have an opinion on item #91716, the Trastevere paisley dress? If I have a larger chest, will it make me look fat because it doesn't have any structure at the waist, so it hangs straight down from the chest?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks, Blume! I don't have a b&m store closer than 100 miles so everything I buy is online. I love j. crew but hate this update (!)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I ordered the argyle sweater vest in Newport blue and shorts in natural check. Not to worry ladies, I promise not to wear them together, but maybe they will match.

Both were ordered on the 1st using the freeship code. The status bar lists them as released and it also tells me they should take nine days to arrive. Maybe this week I'll get them?

I also did a test on the freeship code, it's working, maybe I'll find something else to buy?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I got a delivery confirmation from a phone order made last Monday (Liana with an extra 25% off and free shipping $24.26). The email came Friday. The UPS number showed even yesterday that UPS had only received the billing info. It showed up at my door yesterday.

My internet order from Sunday just shipped today according to the email. UPS has no record of the shipment period. So it will likely just show up soon.

  34. Just tried to order something with the free ship code and it didn't work:(

  35. I am dying for a Fiona. I want a size 4 or 6. Anyone seen one at a store? I just need to know which store so I can call!!
    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anon: on the Trastevere dress. I think if you normally wear sweater dresses go for it. I have a larger chest (32DD) and I do own a few but not the silk ones like Trastevere because the knits show your curves more. The silk might just kind of hang there. I haven't tried it on so I dont really know.

I also think it might be shorter than it actually looks on the website. But agian I cant promise or swear by that.

I know for me I dont buy a sweater dress unless I try it on... some look like bags and others look cute. Its completely a case by case basis.

I would try the polynesian print dress. I own it and it does show that i have a waist while not "hugging" my curves. Its nice for summer and i can get away with it at work. You might call and see if they have any left. I would go for the black though and not the orange.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I got the free ship code to work! Sorry for the false alarm;)

  38. nicole r: Where is your store located? I would love a Fiona jacket and my store doesn't have any left.

  39. Did everyone see that the Madras Plaid Dress and Jacket are $29.99 now? Also, that the Ochos Rios cardi is $29.99 down from $59.99--sweet orange only xs, s, m

I need a gift but am afraid it will take forever to get them!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Susan, for the price of the madras jacket I would go for it:) I just did!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Um yea Anon: I just saw that and boy am I POed I got it for $49.99 because I thought heck thats a good price. BLAH I thought it would sell out before it dropped further! I mean I did get free shipping and my educators discount but arg!!! I also thought about returning the jacket since I saw it in the store and could have also gotten 25% off (since i had gotten permission before i ordered the jacket to return it if I wanted to) but I thought that would be dishonest and wrong.

And now I am kicking myself for not waiting and being too gosh darn honest. BLAHHHHHH. Off to go beat my head against a wall.

    ReplyDelete
  42. yea susan do it, be smarter than I was!

Still beating myself up for that one!

  43. blumre, I have been in your shoes many a time...don't beat yourself up.....you did get a very good deal on it...with your ed. discount to boot...it's the game with JCrew....I have paid full price b/c I wanted something so bad and then it goes on sale...but most of the time I am so happy to get it at all:)

    ReplyDelete
  44. blumre, Hi, Enjoy all the extra days wear you will have with your jacket over us just ordering....:)and not getting it for a LONG time!

  45. I'm starting to get my packages now.... one came via USPS, and the other UPS. I had to call in an order on that first day of the upgrade (maybe we should refer to it as "Black Saturday" LOL) and the CSR must have placed the order twice, because I ended up with 2 separate packages with sour lemon cleo t-straps. She promised me I'd be able to return them when I placed the order because she wasn't sure if they were final sale. Sure enough, they were final sale, and I HATE the sour lemon color. It's more neon than I had expected. CS was really accomodating and said they'd send a label to send them back. I must say I do appreciate the JCrew CS. They are always very helpful.

On a side note, is anyone else just itching for FALL stuff to come out??? Maybe it's because I'm a teacher, maybe because I've always loved clothes and when I was younger buying "school clothes" in August was such a thrill, maybe there's just something about a wool beret, slouchy gray overcoat and boots that looks so NY and chic....
Whatever it is, Fall is my favorite season for fashion and I'm dying to see the collections (especially J Crew's of course!) :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. If you click on "contact us," that's where the info about FREESHIP is. I called my order in to get the educator's discount, and I asked about the free shipping and the CS said that they were definitely still offering it. I didn't think to ask for how long.
I ordered the Lisa dress. Does anyone else have this? Any comments about how it fits? I have the soft knit gallery dress from last season that I absolutely LOVE, so I'm hoping this will be my summer version of that dress.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anon: But I can't be happy yet, I dont have it yet :( When I have it I will probably be happy. And I should be happy that I was such a good, loyal and honest J Crew Customer.

I don't think Black Saturday really fits this fiasco. Black in retail/business means that is when you turn a profit. If you are in the red you haven't turned a profit. Therefore black Friday is the best day for retail stores because its the day on which most stores finally get into the black each year. But perhaps we could call it the worst day of the year??? then again my CC is probably thanking me as it is was given a nice breather.

  48. I ordered something this morning and was still able to use the 'FREESHIP' coupon code even though it's no longer advertised on the website. I also placed an order last week that is due to arrive today - I got a shipment email and tracking number via UPS. I live in VA and usually receive even regularly shipped packages in 2 days, max, so this is pretty slow compared to the norm.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I've placed two orders since the site went bonkers, one on July 1st and the other on July 6th. I knew it'd be wishful thinking to expect either of them to arrive by now, but, I have to admit - I *have* been "waiting by the mailbox." According to my order status on the website neither has shipped.

    ReplyDelete
  50. blumre: Regarding the madras jacket, I ordered it & the same madras style skirt for 49.99 each from the website. When I was in the store this week they were both 25% off the 49.99 price. The sales associate said to call/email JCrew & request the 25% off as in the store. I sent the email on Monday & received the email back stating they would credit the 25% back to my card. Hurrah! Do it, it will work!

    ReplyDelete
  51. P.S. It took longer than 24 hrs for them to respond to the 25% off request. Emailed Monday p.m. received response Wednesday a.m. (today).

  52. This is off topic but is anyone near the King of Prussia mall? We are going there this weekend and I was wondering what there selection has been like. I have a few things that I am considering ordering online but I want to wait to see if they are in store (some are final sale items) so I don't have to deal with the hassle of ordering online since so many of you seem to still have problems. The past few times I have been to the KOP mall during final sale things have been pretty disappointing.

    Thanks!!!

  53. I ordered a beach dress and top on 6/30 and got an email late last night that they had shipped but the tracking number was not functioning yet when I checked... both of these sold out shortly after I ordered so I am relieved they are actually shipping. I placed another order on July 6th but haven't heard anything yet except the standard confirmation email...

  54. I just spoke to a CS rep on the phone, and she said that they aren't doing FREESHIP as of yesterday. I told her that I already used it once this morning, so she let me use it again as a "one-time" courtesy. Sheesh. She also wouldn't let me have an extra 25% off, even though I checked for the item I wanted in the store first.

    ReplyDelete
  55. mathteacher - I just ordered the lisa dress after trying it on in the store a few weeks ago. I think it fits great! I am petite (5'2") and I felt like there was a little too much fabric in the skirt, so I might hem it so it's a few inches shorter. I am a b-cup and the top fit me perfectly.

I ordered it on Monday and it hasn't shipped yet. I do have a Kate dress on backorder (from when Cabana blue was $19.99) and it was supposed to come in July 4 but now the July 4 date has disappeared and I still don't have the dress. I have a feeling I won't ever get it, but we'll see.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This is ridiculous... they need to come up with a shipping program. Otherwise I will just go to the stores which means I will shop less, but oh well. I mean even banana is cheaper than they are these days. J Crew--- please get on the ball.

Someone suggested a while back that Jcrew adopt a program like amazon's, I WOULD TOTALLY BUY INTO THAT. Perhaps they would only offer the program in the first two weeks of January so only truly dedicated customers could get it each year and then they wouldn't hemorrhage money to the greater community.

  57. I just saw in the sale section that the Jackie Cardigan in select colors is 49.99 but when I went to click on the colors etc. it still showed up as 62.00. I called and they said that indeed it is still $62 for ALL colors. What a tease!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Is is my imagination but have a lot of items gone un-sale, to make up a word? Wasn't the Gayle ruffle trench in the sale section? I just saw it regular price. Same with several other items....hmmm. I've been staying away from the website for a few days because of all the problems (and because I don't buy into their final sale) and it seems they're still having issues.

That said, I can't wait to see what their fall collection will be. I just loved fall/winter 2007.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I got two brown bag packages this week via USPS containing one item each (Brushstroke Chessy jacket which is stunning and Brushstroke Metallic cardigan which is beautiful as well!) That being said, I have about 25 more items (from the same orders) that have never shown up yet! Additionally, and I posted this last night, all of my orders show that they shipped on 11/13/07. I wish!!! Unfortunately, these orders were placed on 6/17/08 and 6/27/08!!! Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Before I found this blog, I placed an order online on July 2nd. On the afternoon of monday July 7th, the order was still in open status so I called to cancel it. I talked to a very pleasant CS rep who "canceled" my order. Last night, July 8th, I got an email that 2 of the 3 items I ordered had shipped. The CS rep had only canceled one of my three items. Now I'll be receiving a bikini bottom and a dress, but no bikini top! That taught me a lesson - to make sure that all items are canceled!!

  61. I used FREESHIP this morning and it still worked. I would HOPE that they wouldn't remove it this quickly. Very bad for business IMHO. I did notice that some items were more expensive this AM, BUT I also noticed that some items were cheaper. For example, I have really wanted the Madras jacket which had been listed at $49.99. This morning it was listed at $29.99 so I went ahead and purchased it and got FREESHIP as well.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I received an item yesterday for which I have not yet received a shipping confirmation. There are items for which I received shipping confirmations some time last week that I have not yet received. It's sheer madness.

I was wondering about the Tierney capri sandal. I am usually a size 9 wide. I have heard that J.Crew's shoes tend to run narrow, but I am not sure if sizing up to a 10 would make the shoe too long. Any suggestions?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I just placed an order and the FREESHIP code still worked, saving me close to $20 in shipping. So... we'll see how this goes. I wrote down everything I ordered and my confirmation number in case there was an issue. I also received an e-mail, which is always a good sign.

One of the items I ordered, the bootcut cords in faded cement, is waitlisted until the 10th, so that will be interesting.

Checking out was a bit of an adventure, but I managed to get through without much of an issue. We'll see how it goes!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think the FREESHIP is officially over after talking with CS but with the website issues maybe they haven't figured out how to remove it!

  65. i ordered the school of fish dress during the website mayhem, and received my package from USPS, but the status of my order was never updated on the order status tracker, and I never received a shipment notification. I am glad to have it, and was actually surprised to receive it!

  66. I placed a phone order on 7/3 and never got a email confirmation. I can track it online with my order #, but it still says "open" and the order has not been charged to my credit card yet. It's a cashmere tee.

I also asked for a "find it for me" the same day for the polka dot san telmo. I've NEVER received any communication about that. Which is disappointing. I think I'm going to email them now.

la belle helene: I can't wait for fall either, even with all this website mess in mind. I LOVED fall 2007, and some of the other posters have said it is starting to come out in there stores. Jewel-colored velvet blazers were mentioned...:) No ruffle collar like bella though darn it!

    ReplyDelete
  67. The shipping situation is ridiculous. I have been a loyal online purchaser (at least two times per month)and my packages would always arrive within two to three days of my order...so, I ordered this weekend the Cleo T straps in sour lemon to wear to a wedding on saturday thinking 5 days was plenty! I talked to CS today and she says "released" means it has been packaged and possibly shipped, but no tracking number!! ugh! when i told her my story she said that if I don't get the shoes for the wedding to call and they will "accomodate" me -- wonder what that means??? Seems like from other posts that girls are receiving late but there may be some hope????

  68. Hey everyone:)

Does anyone own the Patchwork Madras Mia Dress? How does it fit? It's only 29.99 and I'm thinking either size 0 or 2. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Kater - you brought up my absolute favorite item of fall 2007: The
Bella jacket. I got the wool herringbone in heather azalea, heather carbon, and black. The Bella jacket was fab - the ruffle collar was such a great detail. I was going to get the velvet in purple, but it sold out before I could get one.

There was just so much great stuff in the fall 2007! I still have the catalogues, because I loved the collection so much, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  70. K, How do you like the print on your school of fish dress?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Okay I need help. I just spoke with the JCrew CS and here are the measurements for the Patchwork Madras Mia Dress:

    Size 0: 33.75" bust, 13" shoulders, 33.75" waist and 37.875" hip.

    Size 2: 37.75" bust, 13.25" shoulders, 34.75" waist and 37.875" hip.

The length of both dresses are 28.5".

I normally wear between 0 and 2, my bust is 31" and I am small chested. I wear a size 0 in City Fit bottoms.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oops! 34.75" bust for the size 2. Sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  73. webbysuzy: Seems like the 0 is the way to go. It would leave some extra room for comfort, whereas based on your bust measurement the 2 might be a little too roomy. Looking at the size charts, the dress has more room in the waist and hips than the pants (which makes sense), so you should also be ok in that respect too. If it were me, I would go with the 0. I hope that helps!

  74. For those interested in the Fiona jackets, the store in Omaha, Nebraska had some last weekend when I was there. I think that their number is (402) 289-2942. Hope you find what you are looking for!

    ReplyDelete
  75. la belle helene: I love bella! I have it in the wool herringbone in black, in velvet in purple, and I also bought the black wool bella coat I loved the collar so much! I'm still kicking myself for not getting the blue velvet one, but as a grad student, I wear most of my blazers with jeans, and just didn't think the blue looked that great with dark denim.

I just wrote CS an email about my unanswered search and made sure to mention how disappointed I am with this entire website fiasco. we'll see what they have to say!

  77. Kater - I'm so happy for you you got the Bella in purple! That was the color I wanted. I still keep an eye out for it on ebay...truth be told, if they still all the items from fall 2007, there's a bunch I'd order - I wanted to get the tulle skirt, but wasn't able to snag one in my size. Also was interested in trying out the library print, either in the skirt or dress.

I did get a bunch of the wool-cashmere bateau neck sweaters, and the violet cami. J.Crew really hit the nail on the head with me with fall 2007!

  78. la belle helene and kater: I have the Adelaide Chino Jacket in navy which I love the cabochon buttons. It's the very relaxed version of the Bella style. I also have the Velvet Bella in leaf (green) color. I haven't worn the velvet bella. I bought it late Winter, so it's still hanging in my closet under plastic bag.

  79. I just did a search for Fiona jackets on eBay and I would just like to say that I am appalled. They are listed for as high as $288! I don't want to be negative; I know they have the right to list them for whatever they want, but come on. That is robbery.

    ReplyDelete
  80. webbysuzy: You will fall in love with your bella jacket when you put it on. I remember that leaf color - it's beautiful. The only reason I opted for purple (or tried) is because I have so many green jackets already (does anyone remember the Academy jackets from J.Crew? I have that in green).

Be sure to post when you've worn it for the first time & let me know how you like it :-)

    ReplyDelete
  81. Michelle - let's hope no one pays that high a price! And if you find that shocking, I can tell you that a week ago, someone on ebay was listing velvet bella jackets for $1,999!! And no, that wasn't a typo by me - they really did try for that high a price!!!

  82. The Omaha store does not have any Fiona but the madras plaid :o( I really want the solid. Thanks for the help though! This is such a great blog!!

Anyone else who saw a fiona, PLEASE let us know.

  83. I placed 2 orders last Monday 6/30 by phone and checked their status yesterday online and both said that they were "open". I called CS to cancel the first order completely and she was able to cancel it no problem and when I checked online, it said that both items in that order were cancelled. My second order had 1 bikini top and 2 bottoms and the CS rep was able to cancel one of the bottoms for me. So this morning after reading this blog, I figured I should check to make sure that everything was correct. Um, no, it is not. The first order that was supposed to be completely cancelled has only one of the items cancelled and the other item supposedly shipped yesterday. The other order shows that the bikini top is on "open" status and 2 bikini bottoms shipped yesterday - 1 bottom was cancelled yesterday. What a mess! The rep I talked to yesterday was so nice and I feel bad that the system they are working with seems to have a mind of its own.

I also have 2 waitlisted items from last month that I can no longer find with the order #s and I did email the contactus@jcrew.com about them but who knows when they will get back to me... They are probably lost in cyberspace and I don't know that I will even bother trying to sort it out over phone at this point. Good luck to everyone else - hope you get what you ordered!

  84. oooh - the adelaide jacket and violet cami - both so pretty! I don't have either, but LOVE the vintage violet print.

the green bella is really pretty - all of them were awesome. there are a couple on ebay in blue for around 100 (I also saw that 1,000 one last week and almost passed out)...

speaking of fall 2007 - I also own about 4 suzannah ruffle shirts. Last year was so pretty and girly!

    ReplyDelete
  85. la belle helene: THAT is ridiculous. It really makes me bitter that there are all these great items out there in the hands of people who try to take advantage of our love for J.Crew. $1999? There are wedding dresses (at J.Crew no less) that cost less than that.

Tired Memphian: I just called Omaha too! The woman I spoke with said that someone else just called on the other line about the Fiona ... I'll bet we called at the same time, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  86. As of 9:00am Pacific, I am completely unable to check out. Also, an item in my cart went on sale, but still shows as full price on it's product info page. Arghhh!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Kater: I got the emilia blouse in the berry color - it looks so snazzy with the rufle collar peeking out under a sweater!

    ReplyDelete
  88. michelle, she was so nice on the phone. My phone battery died as I was waiting for her to check but she was super nice.

I always hate to hear about the rude store employees because my local store has really REALLY nice people. It sounds like Omaha is just as lucky :o)

  89. The only Bella I have is the purple velvet and I LOVE it. I had the black wool on backorder and JCrew cancelled it on me and never notified me at all...had to discover that one by myself...that was a long while back but, still...I was mad!

I normally don't like the velvet look, esp. in a blazer but it was the collar/design that made me get this one.

I bought more from JCrew last winter than I ever have in 7 years.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I have the Fiona in the madras plaid. I prefer it to the solid. I actually sold the solid to my sister 2 weeks ago....she wanted my plaid one but I said No way:)

    ReplyDelete
  91. I received 6 packages this morning, including my Fiona jacket in pale almond and the jersey bateau dress in slate. It's like Christmas X 6.

The tracking numbers still says "billing info received" despite delivery. What a mess.

I love the jacket and the dress! The Fiona jacket is well, the Fiona jacket. The jersey dress - I highly recommend it. It drapes so well, and is so elegant and easy to wear. I would suggest sizing down though. It's kinda large - or maybe just stretchy and the material rather heavy.

These are orders from late June. It took some time but at least half of my orders are here. DH gets back from his conference this weekend :)

    ReplyDelete
  92. anon at 12:09 - I know what you mean about buying more from J.Crew last fall than in the past seven years! I did the same thing - I don't know what it was about fall 2007, but I fell in love with look after look, item after item. Can't wait to wear them again, either (as I sit here in 85 degree weather, haha).

I am anxious to see fall 2008, but in many ways, I don't think it can possibly top 2007 for me - which wouldn't be all that bad for my wallet :-)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Anon@12.11: I have the fiona in madras plaid too. It's so pretty, and the material is less stiff than the solid, so it hangs well instead of billowing out like a tent! That said, I still love my Fiona in pale almond.

    ReplyDelete
  94. la belle helen, Yes, I was thinking the same thing..no way fall/winter2008 can top last years. And my wallet would thank me too:) I have plenty that I didn't get to wear that I bought on final sale (which I hate by the way:) so I likely won't be buying more than a piece or two this fall...esp. with the high shipping rates.

    ReplyDelete
  95. fall 2007 was really bad for me too (I also have the amelia blouse in berry la belle helene)! It carried into winter too - the merino cardigans with the ruffle on the placket, the phoebe ruffle collar - can you tell I have a thing for ruffles???

Another bad year for my cc, but good in terms of merchandise was fall 2005 - not the clothes so much as the SHOES. I have about every pair of those plaid wool heels they came out with, and other pairs with pretty jewels one them. I think that was the year of the kiltie shoe in suede too. It was PSYCHO how many pairs of shoes I bought.

    ReplyDelete
  96. tired.memphian: I saw two Fiona Jackets two days ago (monday) at the Columbus Circle store here in NYC. It's coral color, sizes 10 and 12. I posted this in another thread and it was on hold under my name and if anyone was interested to let me know. Of course that was monday and it was 49.99 + 25% at that time, so now it's 29.99. I don't know if they still have it, but doesn't hurt to ask them: 212.823.9302

  97. I'm so envious of all of you who can wear J.Crew's lovely shoes - I think they are so pretty and chic, but I have a really high arch, and the arch support in J.Crew's heels isn't enough for me - my toes end up sliding forward, and get badly squeezed. So I just look and lust!

    ReplyDelete
  98. kater: I love the Suzannah Ruffle blouses, the ones that were done using the Liberty fabrics. I was lucky to buy the roasted pepper and iris for 19.99 each (originally 128.00), and last month, there was the roasted olive re-listed in the J Crew sale section for 59.99. So I bought that as well. I'm planning on wearing the leaf velvet Bella jacket with the iris Suzannah blouse.

  99. my 6/26 order still has not arrived, though an email response from CS yesterday said my order had shipped, but items may arrive separately. They also offered a refund on shipping, which I thought was very nice and appropriate (especially since they've been offering free shipping for the last week, anyway). Still says "open" and "submitted" online, and no tracking numbers, so I have no clue when it will get here...

    ReplyDelete
  100. kater: i love ruffles but my silly DH says everything in my wardrobe has ruffles. I think he meant it as a criticism!!

    ReplyDelete
  101. I haven't been able to find the solid Fiona in a 4 or 6 OR the solid navy Katie sweater in a Small. Maybe this is nature's way of telling me to hold out for the fall merchandise.

Still, if anyone has any leads ... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  102. michelle & la belle helene: there was an eBay reseller who commented (advertised) earlier in another thread about having Fiona Jackets of all sizes and colors and then s/he posted their email address. The prices were at least three times more than the current selling price. We were very upset, so that's why Alexis did a thread on A Quick Note to Resellers of J Crew.

    ReplyDelete
  103. webbysuzy: I loved the liberty print suzannahs, but never managed to get one at a good price. I have the plaid ones, which I love. I wear them with sweater vests all the time.

vivian: I hear you about DH's and ruffles. My fiance says if there is a bow or a ruffle on a piece of clothing, I will buy it, no questions asked. And I don't think he's being nice!

    ReplyDelete
  104. For months, I debated buying the Fiona on ebay too. But just couldnt justify the inflated prices. The only style that was reasonably priced was the Jacquard Fiona considering it was originally $249. Still, I didn't like the print. And after holding out, I got lucky on j.crew.com. I think you will see some returns coming in when the website kinks get worked out.

  105. Hi all,

I had an order that I placed on late 6/26 and I now have 3 out of 4 of the items. Each arrived individually so far--one on Monday, 2 on Tuesday. Never received a shipping confirmation at all for these. I once called in to check and they let me know two things had shipped (one of which I have not received). Hopefully the last item is on its way.

So far I have received the Frances blouse in True Aqua--I love this! I got the Tall size and its nice and long and fitted. Also white everyday chinos (wearing these two today) and the Elizabeth Halter in Clover. I am not sure about anyone else, but I had to size way down for the Eliz halter--this is like the first Small I have ever ordered haha. Its really pretty--anyone have great ideas for how to wear it?

I also scored the Bright Flame tulip jacket at teh Palo Alto store last weekend--they had a few in the bright color--I need outfit suggestions for this too!

Now I am just waiting for the Sour Lemon Frances--and I need to be stopped!

Last thing--I mentioned this before, but I ordered these items non final sale, printed out my order, etc. But all have arrived Final Sale (except full price eliz halter). Should I take this up with CS, or just choose my battles?

Thanks all I love this blog!

  106. I placed an order on 6/27 and received one item; still no word on the rest. I don't think they've even shipped yet, even though they were in stock when I placed the order, and still show as being in stock.

Josie- I completely agree with you regarding fall clothes! :)

    ReplyDelete
  107. I placed an order for the seersucker bandeau after the website update and got it this past Monday! So I'm overall pretty pleased / satisfied with the service.

As for the item itself ... I remember seeing it in the catalog last year and wanting it. When I went to order it online, they were constantly out of my size. So when I saw it this year (for more than the ending price was last year), I still decided to snap it up. I'm not sure how I feel about some of the detail work (not as great as I've seen elsewhere) but it's in lemon yellow (my favorite color) and still looks pretty cute. :)

    ReplyDelete
  108. Jliz: Congrats on the lovely buys! The Frances blouse is just beautiful, isn't it -- someone here said: "Even an ogre will look pretty in it." I have four Frances blouses. You'll love the sour lemon too.

Tulip jacket in Flame - I'm waiting for mine to arrive. I hope it's not too overly striking on me...

  109. Melanie: Are you still looking for the san telmo in black?

    ReplyDelete
  110. jliz: I think if yoyu need to return something, call CS and tell them to correct the order.

A few of my Final Sale items arrived as non-final sale, complete with Part B: Returns Form.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Vivian: A San Telmo in black would be nice! I wish I could try it on though. :) Are they currently available online?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Melanie: They're completely out online. I received mine yesterday from a store search. Size 0 was the only one available, so I grabbed it anyway but it does feel a little tight on me. Trying is definitely necessary. I'm wearing different sizes in J.Crew jackets depending on the cut of the jacket.

  113. Just received an email with a shipping number (via UPS) for part of the order I placed on July 4. One item still waitlisted. Original waitlist date was July 7, but now it has no date. The item is the bottm of the bikini, the top of which is in the UPS package. Can't use one without the other (at least not the top alone. Bottom alone, maybe!) Anxious to see when it ships or updates.

  114. So I have an update these $29.99 Fiona Jackets...I have been on a quest to find one. I haven;t had any luck but I wanted to give someone else out there a chance to score one.

Alabama has a bunch in the color:sizes 8,10,12 available. Call them @ 205.970.6411.

Also Arizona has 3 in white: size 10. Call @ 520.529.0011

Hope you score one folks.Let us all know if you do!

    ReplyDelete
  115. jliz: Oops. I better clarify. I don't want my comment to be misconstrued. I don't mean that you look like an ogre!

Sorry if I offended anyone with that recycled quote about ogres and frances blouses.

  116. Fiona Jackets in Beige....size 10. Call 239.593.4079

    ReplyDelete
  117. Wow, the madras jacket is 29.99!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Jliz, I once had a problem with ordering things before the final sale that showed as final sale on the packing slip. I wanted to return some items at a store so I had customer service email a confirmation that they were not final sale and took that in with my emailed order confirmation and had absolutely no trouble making the return. If you don't want to return the items I wouldn't bother calling CS, but if you do want to make returns you should have no problems.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Vivian: Oh, okay, I see. :) Which store did you get it from, just out of curiosity?

    ReplyDelete
  120. Melanie: It came from the Denver store.

    ReplyDelete
  121. assata,
What color besides white did you see the jacket in?
    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  122. anonymous (re: school of fish dress)- I really like the print and the fit of the dress. It is pretty much a sack dress, which I normally avoid, but I really like the way this hangs. The panel around the bottom is clingier when I walk or lean when standing. The green is very vibrant and I have gotten many compliments on it today, my first time wearing it.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Assata: to clarify-- colors in the Alabama store:) Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  124. K,
Thanks for the info. on the dress:)

    ReplyDelete
  125. The pink coral shade is available in Alabama...I apologize for the typo.

    Good Luck!

    ReplyDelete
  126. blumre: DD boobs and a tiny waist. Curses on you woman! I have the opposite problem because my boobs are concave (I think that would be MINUS DD in my case..lol). My waist is OK (I only weigh around 100) but for some reason I seem to have moved UP in sizing on my tophalf...once only wearing a 0 and now sometimes I find that I need a 2 (jackets only). I did score the madras jacket this morning (which I plan to wear exactly as shown) and am very happy about that! :) :)

    ReplyDelete
  127. Melanie - The Omaha store also had some of the San Telmo jackets this weekend. I believe size in sizes 8-12.

    ReplyDelete
  128. jcrewjunkie: YAY for the madras jacket!!!!

And mine are not a blessing they are a curse! Think about it this way... I cant wear half of Jcrew's clothes because they a re cut too low or there is no room for a bra (halter beach dress and Caterina tops).

100 lbs? Don't make me hate you!!? :)

But yea don't worry about the sizes they got all screwy anyway! I used to be able to say "I know for sure I am a medium" and this spring I bought the merino ruffle blouse in an xs because the small was HUGE... and my weight has not changed at all. And I was a 4 in somethings that I then had to go buy in a 6 the very following year. So don't fret.

    ReplyDelete
  129. The order I placed on 7/! arrived today....with the tracking number I was emailed last night still showing invalid on the UPS website! However, I specifically order my shorts from the regular section and paid full price....bought the same shorts in 2 different sizes so I could send back the ones that didn't fit...and all shorts came as "final sale". They shorts are listed as final sale now, but they're still selling for full price! So, had to email CS and hopefully they can make the whole thing right.

    ReplyDelete
  130. jcrewjunkie: hahaha, i had to post...ok, i started with like a minus DD...and breastfeeding did not help my situation!!...lol...sounds like we're about the same size ;)

blumre: i'm still jealous! :) and yes, jcrew sizes have been wacky the past few years, especially with jackets...

    ReplyDelete
  131. I'm also interested in the San Telmo Jacket in size O!!!

    ReplyDelete
  132. A bit late here for the discussion on the bella jacket...I loooooved them too. Have them in brown, black, and green. Oh, would have bought all the colors, but that would have really killed my cc. Hee! Didn't know the prices on ebay were so inflated on the bella jackets!

    ReplyDelete
  133. It's funny... I tried so hard to get my San Telmo jacket and now I'm wondering if I should sell it. Size 0 is a little tight for me.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I have an order from early part of June, which had two wait-listed items. These items were to be available for shipping o/a 7/8. The dates have not been updated and it's not not clear when they will be available for shipping.

JCrew has really screwed up with this "upgrade". I hope they give us some real incentive to come back and spend like we used on the web. Maybe they will surprise us with a 40% off the final sale. Wishful thinking...right?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Vivian: What is your normal sizes in jackets? Would you say the San Telmo is cut slimmer than other jackets?

    ReplyDelete
  136. vivian...just replied to your other post regarding the tulip jacket...I would suggest returning one of them, since both citrus and flame are bright colors...I have it in navy and citrus. If one of them are of a more conservative color, then I would settle. :)

Since you have the tulip jacket, how's the fit of it compared to the san telmo? Is your tulip in a size O? Thanks! I'm sure this info would be helpful to Melanie as well!

    ReplyDelete
  137. Melanie: Mostly I'm 2. My polka dot san telmo fits great at 2. The black san telmo is cut exactly the same but unfortunately the only size available was a 0. I took the risk anyway - and it's a little tight for me. But it's so pretty!!!! Sniff.

    ReplyDelete
  138. newyork0311: Tks! My tulip in flame is a 0 but the citrus lime is a 2. I think the tulip has more leeway (only one button and more swingy) than the san telmo.

The citrus lime is not final sale, but the flame is (or so I think unless the receipt proves otherwise).

Color-wise, which do you think is more appealing: citrus or flame?

    ReplyDelete
  139. The material also makes a different. The san telmo is more structured because of the canvas, but the tulip is softer and may appear to have more give.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Looks like they've taken away FREESHIP. I just placed an order over the phone and was told that FREESHIP is no longer available. But the CS rep honored it anyway because an earlier order (10 minutes earlier) that I placed online managed to get FREESHIP.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Thanks for telling us all vivian

bummer I was going to have fun with the freeship! :(

I did notice the beach dresses are down to $29.99... but I will wait for a free ship coupon to go after those.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Maybe I missed this somewhere: can we call stores in other states and have them send us items??

    ReplyDelete
  143. Yes, I called the Columbus Circle store directly (thanks to the info here!) and ordered my Tulip jacket over the phone. Didn't go through CS.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Vivian: Tks for the info! So I guess what you're saying is that the san telmo is more true to size, right?

Regarding the two colors for the tulip jacket...I went against the popular belief on this blog and got the citrus lime.(The flame color made me look too mature!)

If you think you almost like both colors equally, I would go with the fit. If the fit is right, the item will look good when you put it on. :)

    ReplyDelete
  150. holy crap! I'm in the library but am seriously considering leaving to order one!

newyork0311 - I have the french stripe tie jacket and like it. it's definitely a boxy fit (kind of like the stripe pea-coat sweater jacket from last year) but it's really cute. It looks great with a white tee underneath (the sweater is short so you can see lots of the tee) and trouser jeans!

    ReplyDelete
  151. newyork0311: Yes, I would say that the San Telmo is more true to size.

I know exactly what you mean about the citrus lime color! I haven't had a chance to try out the flame yet but I love the citrus lime when I saw it and had actually paid full price (although I didnt know then about the flame). I did get a price adjustment for the citrus lime later but I don't know why: whenever I think of tulip, I think of that color. It's so refreshing. Gawd - maybe I should keep both jackets?

  154. I just tried to order the Tierney capri sandals I asked about earlier, because I figured that since the FREESHIP was expiring I should take advantage of it. When I went to check out, I got a jsp error. I think it's a sign ... I decided against purchasing them after all :P

    ReplyDelete
  155. ... aaaand now I'm reconsidering. My foot is wide, but I thought I might be ok in a sandal. Does anyone own the capri sandal? Do you think a wide foot would be ok in my regular size? Or should I size up? My only concern is that the sandal would be too long.

  156. So many comments... Really fantastic to hear from so many of you! :)

First, I am sorry to hear that the tracking numbers don't really seem to work (in general).

Although it sounds like some of you have been receiving your items- that is a good sign! :)

I have to say, if the FREESHIP code doesn't work anymore- then I am a bit dissappointed that J.Crew removed it. I mean, their website is still not functioning properly. The code is a good incentive to get people to purchase online. (Although to be honest, I haven't bought anything online with them since that "Saturday" they upgraded.)

    ReplyDelete
  157. so freeship code is not longer working, I assume?

Vivian: Think of it this way, will you be wearing them very often (considering both are bright colors?) If the answer is no, I would return one of them. See what you would wear the jackets with and the color in your wardrobe. Try them on, and have someone help you make a decision. :)

Kater: I know! That's exactly the look I was thinking of...But no more freeship code now...

    ReplyDelete
  158. As of 5 minutes ago FREESHIP still works online.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I have had interesting experiences with JCrew during this upgrade: Got a lot of different stories from CS and B&M managers as far as using my student discount with final sale items - sometimes I got it and sometimes I didn't. But what can you do? I guess it just shows that it never hurts to ask. Student discounts are a no go on final sale items in Nashville, TN but always work on final sale items in Cleveland, Ohio. They sometimes work with CS depending on who you get. Variables are whether you have a free shipping code and if the item is final sale.

I have not received one backordered item placed before the whole shenanigans with the website occurred, unfortunately I have no way to track if they will ever be shipping and/or charging my card. Guess I'll have to just keep looking at my cc account online.

For anyone looking to resell their driving mocs in a size 9 I'm your lady. I wish I purchased more when they were available so please post if you have some!!! :)

    Thanks,
Rachael - PS I'm an anonymous a lot cause I haven't figured out how to do the name/url - is that your email address?? help!

    ReplyDelete
  160. so I came home from the library, and I missed the fiona jackets! DARN IT. They don't have them anymore at Columbus circle (I could resist at 49.99, but at 29.99?!?) and my size is gone at the Alabama store.

    Thanks to everyone though!

  162. FFM and Anon@3:35: I just called Orlando - they have an 8 and a 12.

  163. Kater - sorry you didn't get a fiona jacket ... but maybe think of it this way: Now you can use that money on what will hopefully be a fabulous fall collection :-)

    ReplyDelete
  164. michelle: Thanks! I thought one was an 8, but I couldn't remember for sure.

The Orlando J.Crew has a TON of the Tulip Jackets in Citrus Lime. There were also alot of the Linen-Cotton Casa Rossa jackets, especially in the Citron color. There was a TON of the Madras jackets and also a TON of the Emily blouses in the different colors. Not sure on all of the prices, but everything is still an addt'l. 25% off. :)

I purchased the Leather Skinny Belt in Gold (like my Silver one) for $10...YAY!!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  165. Does anyone have any input on the width of the capri sandal? I have a wide foot, but I am afraid if I size up it will be too long. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  166. The Casa Rossa in White were also $49.99 plus 25% extra...online they are showing $79.99 for that color. :)

  167. FREESHIP just worked on another "mock checkout" as of 4:59pm EST. :)

  168. Don't forget to look me up on e-bay folks: talkingback.

    Lot's of J.Crew for sale!

    ReplyDelete
  169. FFM: Thanks for the report on the Orlando store! :)
The Emily blouses are button-ups, right?

    ReplyDelete
  170. I'm looking for the Fiona in the coral/pinkish color in a 10 if anyone sees it....Thanks so much:)

    Jules

    ReplyDelete
  171. Jules - did you try the AL store (see above)? when I called an hour ago they had the fiona in the coral/pink in a 10.

    ReplyDelete
  172. anon @5:17: Yes, the Emily blouses are the button-up ones with the ruffle at the collar. :)

  173. I am no longer shopping at JCrew. I have been patient and kind up until now. On June 26 I placed a phone order for the Tall Frances blouse in white. It was in stock. On July 7 I finally got a shipment confirmation. Now, today, I am told the item is on back order and I may or may not get it until Aug. 12. What kind of show are they running?

    ReplyDelete
  174. One of the final sale items I ordered last week arrived today, and it doesn't say "final sale" on the invoice or the plastic bag...plus they sent me a return label. Does that mean I can return it?? Has anyone else had this happen with a supposedly "final sale" item?

    ReplyDelete
  175. P. S. I also have to add that I ordered the regular white Frances blouse on June 23 online but then when I checked my order on the 26 found out that JCrew had cancelled it without letting me know. That's when I called and they said they had the tall 10 so I went with that instead.

  176. I just called about a back order item that I placed at the begining of june and was told not until september. Well they are performing a find it now for me and then I can cancel the order if need be. Also because they truly botched this order (the order in june was to replace an order I placed in february which never got filled) they are sending me a $25 gift card (I AM SO HAPPY AT THAT I COULD SCREAM... I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I WILL BUY... I might wait til fall and use it to help pay for a splurge). The CS rep I talked to was so sweet and kind and looked up another order for me and really out did her self. I actually sent an e-mail to the contactus email address complimenting her and her efforts! FABULOUS PERSON.

In that e-mail I also criticized the website and the lack of free shipping but kept the tone positive and I am hope it will make it up the chain of command.

The cs rep really made me feel like they are trying and its frustrating for them too... so everyone try to have patience. She also encouraged me to keep calling and checking after all its their job to get these orders to us.

  177. anon at 5:48 - I feel your pain. J.Crew is sloppy on this front - back at Christmas, I ordered the dream popover hoody in iris and was told it was on backorder with ship date in February. February rolls around, so does March, April...and then my order just got cancelled by J.Crew :-(

    ReplyDelete
  178. my original order was in feb for the featherweight merino to replace the one i accidentally put in the dryer (it now looks fabulous of my little niece). Anyway same thing with me march no, april no, end of april CANCELED. I called in and they said nope sorry not making any more, you cant have one!

Well imagine my surprise when it was there in June on their website as a new item so I called in... and low and behold it was back ordered already!!! So hopefully I will get it at some point cause this is NUTS. LOL

  179. Anyone seen or have the Portico wrap dress? Is it cute on?

    ReplyDelete
  180. blumre: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Now just to actually get the gift card mailed TO you! ;) I'm still waiting on mine... :) Once again, Congrats!

  181. Do the B&M stores ever have basics like chinos on sale with the extra 25% off? I know lots of people are looking for jackets, jewelry, etc....but was just wondering if the stores ever have basic pants/shorts on sale very often. I'm no where near a store and was thinking about calling some stores and seeing if they had any. Would they ship to me or just ship between stores?

    ReplyDelete
  182. What does everyone think of the Antonia printed linen dress? I love the flame print but it's not on sale yet and am thinking about the tangerine print instead, since that one is on sale.

  183. URGH! Need product help, please.

LISA DRESS: The website shows the GREEN dress as having ruching at the centre of the bust, but the Strawberry and Navy Dresses have a criss-cross bodice. What's the real scoop on the dress? Does it have a Criss Cross bodice or is it just ruched in the middle?

FRENCH STRIPED TIE SWEATER JACKET: What's it like in person? I know that someone else here responded but what about others? Do you like it? How does it fit? Does it look too Mature? What are your thoughts?

    Please Help! Thank you :)

  184. heather c, any of the stores will definitely ship anything you need/want. I have this done all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Do they charge the exorbitant website shipping charges to ship to me from a store? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  186. Math Teacher: You are absolutely right that the FREESHIP offer is tucked away in J.Crew's website. It is located here: Contact us

Hi Michelle! I own several of the capri sandals. My foot is relatively narrow so they work for me. I guess the best way for me to describe them is that If you find that J.Crew flats work for you, then the capri sandals will work fine for you as well. :) Also, there was a product review of the capris here, maybe some of the comments from other members can help: Product Review: Capri Sandals :)

  187. heather c: my store has had the basics on sale...a couple weeks ago I was able to pick up the Everyday Chinos for $13 ($19.99 +25% +15% educator). My store is the one in Orlando @ 407-226-9732...not sure what is left, but everything is still 25% off sale price. :)

The shipping charges are the same as online.

  188. I haven't bought the the french stripe jacket yet but I've seen in the store and really like it. I was excited to see that it was marked down today and thought about ordering it but have decided to wait it out until the next markdown! BTW, while I didn't try it on, it did look very boxy and the fabric is similar to the katie sweater jacket.

    ReplyDelete
  189. heather C.: I don't know for sure, but from what I have experienced the store charges the same shipping fee as the J.Crew website shipping fees.

Blumre: Congrats on the gift card! That is wonderful customer service!!! :)

  190. Lisa dress has ruching, I have the navy and love it! I did size down a bit too.

    ReplyDelete
  191. anon @6:21: The dresses I saw in the store today did not cross at the front...they were like the green one in the pic with the model. You can call CS to ask for sure...maybe they can look at one in their mock store. :)

  192. Michelle,

Like you, I have wide feet too and found that the capri sandals were much too narrow on my feet! I wear a six and didn't bother trying on a 7 because I didn't see it making much of a difference. Disappointing!

    ReplyDelete
  193. FFM - that's the kind of deal I need...$13 chinos is awesome! I'm in the process of losing weight so it seems ridiculous to pay $60 for a pair of khakis, wear them for a month, and then pay for another pair in a smaller size. I'll do some scouting around and see what I can find for cheap. Ebay isn't all that helpful right now for a size 12 and shrinking!

  194. I had an interesting experience with customer service this morning. After placing an order on 7/2 (after the "upgrade," but before FREESHIP :-() I received one item in my order twice on the same day! My card was only charged once, so I didn't really know what to think of the duplicate item. When I called to ask CS, the lady first found no record of the order at all, and then was able to pull it up, but showed no record of the duplicate. I also had never received a confirmation email about this order, so I wasn't even sure it went through. Apparently it did, but two of the items are on "We will find them" status, with no update. The website says they're both supposed to ship July 21st, but CS didn't have that date in their computer. I'm slightly nervous b/c one of the two things is a bridesmaid's dress for a wedding I'm in on August 2nd! So, if it doesn't go out VERY close to the 21st, I am SOL. Sigh. Also, maybe I was just in a bad mood, but I felt like the CS lady was not very nice to me. She seemed to think it was somehow my fault that the order got messed up and she threatened to charge me for the duplicate shirt if I didn't send it back. OK, I didn't want two of the same shirt anyway!! (BTW, it's the solid silk Elizabeth halter in navy - very cute). I too am frustrated with all these technical difficulties, and really, really hope my dress comes on time for the wedding!!

  195. I received my Mini-patchwork madras jacket today shipped 2nd day air UPS!! Wow, they are really trying to get the orders out now.

Also, my shipping invoice charges me for two items although only one is listed on the ticket. Apparently another change to their shipping invoices, according to CS.

Finally, the madras jacket was Final Sale and Final Sale is not indicated on the receipt. This is only a good-goof for me if the jacket goes lower in price than 49.99-25% off=37.49. (Actually it is lower now on the site but I'm not sure I'm going to go through the trouble for 7.49!)

By the way, the Mini-madras jacket is the Via Vittorio jacket in madras.

  196. I placed an order on 6/29 and am still awaiting it *sigh*. I emailed CS on 7/2 and received a response a few days later that my card was charged and it was shipped. I received a shipping notice on 7/6 and it still says "billing info rec'd" and my card still has not been charged. I know I'm on the west coast and it usually takes 5-7 to get my packages, but this is really slow.

  197. Does anyone own the
    Lilah Dress
? I'm wondering if the arm holes are too big on it. Would someone let me know how it fits. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  198. I just called J.Crew about an order I place on 6/29, so today makes it 7 business days. I never received a shipping confirmation for the package. The CSR said the item has been shipped however was unable to provide a tracking number and I was told to give it 3-4 more days to arrive. This is is ridiculous! And I had to ask, yes ASK, not offered a refund on the shipping fee. Probably the last time I order for awhile as the CSR said they are still working on glitches in the system, ya think?
