off topic: I don't understand how JCrew decides when/if they mailed an item to someone. I think FFM may have touched on this but I didn't quite get it. I ordered a top the day...within minutes...that it went on sale and I was short shipped it b/c it took forever and ever to mail. It showed in inventory online for about a week after that too in my size and then went down another $30 from what I paid and my size was still showing! Now it is sold out by the time they tried to ship it to me last week....over 21 days later...I just don't get it??? I watched that top all summer for many many weeks...maybe even over a month! and never got it and am so MAD!

The good thing is that some stuff appears to have been added to the sale, so I'm going to go over to my local store to see if I can score any of those items for 40% off. I just don't trust the website yet. It's fun browsing the new fall clothes, though!

ReplyDeleteBE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE SALE SECTION! I spoke with a CS rep because my Kelly Jacket showed up as available again (even though they just short shipped me on it), and she said they have 1, but it probably really isn't even there. She went on to say that the new system is not displaying inventory correctly, and just because it shows up online, does NOT mean it is actually in the warehouse available for purchase...I find this to be EXTREMELY deceptive on their part! They are taking money for items they aren't even sure they have, and then take forever to give it back...please be careful! She asked if I wanted her to place a new order for that 1 jacket that "might" be there, and I said no...I just cannot go through another 2 weeks of hell with another order...it's absurd, and takes too much of my time.

I am past the point of even wanting the Kelly in Bright Flame, the Joelle Blouse in Regal Purple, or the Fiona now...the more I have to deal with all the issues that have gone along with them, the less I even desire to have them...

FFM, I totally don't blame you - I have open orders for 2 Joelle camis and a Joelle blouse (been open for 2-3 weeks now) - I'm so wary of ordering anything else off of the website, and my store doesn't always have the best selection - the smaller sizes always sell out right away. On hold for CS right now (wait time: 23 minutes!).

ReplyDeleteAs I posted 4 days ago...just b/c you see it on the sale section, put it in your basket and buy it does not mean they have the item available.....even when I called the CS though it was there....Joelle blouse and it was not. It still showed as in stock for about 7 hours...but she couldn't ever get the order to go through......don't think you have a sale item when you likely don't. Had this happen 7 times now.

ReplyDelete...and the Joelle cami was short-shipped! SO not surprised. The rep is going to call me back with a supposed tracking number on the Joelle blouse, which I bet has been short-shipped as well. I have never had anything like this happen before the "upgrade" - if the item became unavailable, it was either plucked out of your cart immediately, or if it went out of stock after the order went through (which didn't happen to me too frequently), I'd get an e-mail from Support Services in a day or two. I never had to call CS to find out where my stuff was (not like they know, either)! This is super-annoying, but unsurprising. I hope that any aficionadas that order fall merch don't encounter these kind of problems.

anon @3:26: I was saying that J.Crew needs to prioritize when it comes to fulfilling orders...basically...FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. When I placed my orders for the Joelle Blouse and Kelly Jacket back on 6/27, there were a TON of them in stock, however...when they went to ship them out on 7/17 they were both OUT OF STOCK...BIG SURPRISE ON THAT ONE! Not to mention that the items "supposedly" sat in my package IN the warehouse the first week of July, waiting to get loaded on the truck...it's just all a bunch of BS. So, I placed a new order for the same 2 items on 7/18, as they were AVAILABLE and IN STOCK again (placed the order around 6 am, BEFORE the many other orders were placed) and once they decided to actually package it up for shipping 5 days later on the 23rd...the items ARE NOT AVAILABLE AGAIN!!! My suggestion and point is this: whoever places the order first, gets first priority on the inventory, whether there is alot of inventory or a little inventory on the item...I should have been one of the first in line to get those items, and not short shipped because they ran out of stock by the time they came to my order. The orders should be put in order by date and time, and then filled accordingly...not picked at random, as it seems they are doing...it's not professional or right to do it that way and continue to short ship customers who ordered first.

Exactly, FFM and anon 3:26! When I placed my order for the Joelle cami it had been in stock all day (which is about how long it took me to place the order) - now it's been sitting in an Open status for about 3 weeks now. If the stuff I want shows up on the site again, I'm going to scream!

ReplyDeleteBy the way....so you home school....I wanted to do that with my daughter but her personality is so outgoing and people oriented that she would have hated not being around other kids constantly. My husband and I were not the most popular kids in school but we always had a group of friends around....she is in fact an example of what I always believed but didn't know for sure...the popular kids are just born that way....ever since kindergarten she has been the most popular girl in her class! I taught first grade for 10 years before staying home....

Anon @8:01: Yes, we do homeschool and love it! We are fortunate to know many other homeschooling families and my boys have many friends that also homeschool, who they see on a regular basis. We are involved in a Homeschooling Co-op and Support Group which keeps us from becoming isolated and allows us the opportunity to interact, attend classes, and go on field trips with friends and families that also homeschool. I know it's not for everyone, but it really works for our family. :)

ReplyDeleteI did get the extra 20% off and since I called CS while the FREESHIP code was showing, she gave me that as well. So 23.99 plus tax for even the chance is better than the ones on ebay for a lot more money. My fingers are crossed.
The CS checked the stock and said that it appeared that they will ship out tonight. We'll see. She was able to see that my Katie jacket is not coming so I can hope it is correct about the Fionas. Sigh. Trying to stay positive :o)
Also, they never charged me for the Katie jacket that did not ship. They charged me for the other item in the order that did ship. I am trying to take this as a good sign.....

ReplyDeleteNow if I could win this sweepstakes, I would be *really* excited. I have two kids and could see them in some cute stuff from crewcuts. My oldest likes some of their stuff but we love the basics for boys. I was never a gymbo fan. Crewcuts, vineyard vines and some gap kids are really our only boy options for everyday clothes.
I wouldn't take the chance and order sales items online either. I was playing with it, just to see how much inventory they might have of some of those items, and realized that you are unable to order two of the san telmo jackets, for example. However, for regular priced items, it's not a problem to add two of the same items at the same time. I think it might be another glitch or they are just trying to lure customers into ordering. However, they might end up canceling it, like they've done in the past.
