Go J.Crew Website! Go!

Well it seems like J.Crew's website is starting to get it's act together. I noticed that it is running a lot smoother right now, although it's clearly not 100% kink-free. Unfortunately the sale section is still showing some items that are unavailable. Basically displaying items that are "out of stock" or not part of the sale. (For example, after you loaded the item page for 5 minutes you may see the status was "null" or that the sale applied to a different version/color of the item displayed- a complete retail tease!)

I have to say, I am starting to get "use to" the new site. I am sure, after a week of "no kinks" I will be comfortable with it. :)

I also want to say I am very sorry to hear about a few of my fellow J.Crew Aficionada's who lost part (if not all) of their orders from Friday (and around then) from the website upgrade. My order was lost too. :( I also want to say that I am impressed with the customer service reps at J.Crew who have maintained their fantastic level of customer service despite the system being down so much during this crazy website upgrading disaster. (Yes- let's face it- this upgrade was a disaster!)

What are your feelings about the new website now that it is running (a wee bit) smoother? Are you liking the new features (or missing some old ones)? Are you getting "use to" the new layout in the Sale section? Can you check out properly? Have you been able to take advantage of the FREESHIP offer?

  1. I used the FREESHIP offer this morning and it worked...However, I still see the sold out items for some reason which is just mean.

  2. Lenka- you are right! I just noticed one of the items displayed wasn't really for sale- what a complete tease!

  3. I tried to check out several times last night using FREESHIP to try and buy a pair of silver capri sandals that I need to complete an outfit....it timed out on me every time. Then this morning I go back to try again, and of course, the silver sandals are sold out. Guess I'll have to see if they get them back in stock....but I really wanted those sandals soon! (whine**) Anyway, the website is working much better this morning and seems to be running faster as well.

  4. I tried buying a swimsuit yesterday, but the server crashed during checkout. Today that item is no longer available and has been removed from my cart. I called customer service -- the color I wanted is now sold out.

I asked about the sizing for another suit, the halter tank dress. She didn't really have any advice on whether I should order up or down. I asked if I could order several sizes of the same suit/color and return the ones that didn't fit, and she said at this time there was no way to waive the return label fee. She also said that particular suit was final sale anyway, no returns. The website does not describe it as such. Confusion.

Anyway, no orders for me today. I'm much more cautious about sizing uncertainty after my last experience.

P.S. What size would you guys recommend for a one-piece suit if I usually order separates in XS (2) - top and M (6/8) - bottom?

  5. Heather C: Sorry to hear you weren't able to get those silver capri sandals- that's awful about what happened. Maybe J.Crew will perform a "We will find it search" for you?

Chini: Sorry to hear about your online shopping experience too! :( Also, you are pear shaped like me! :) We practically have the same measurements (I am size 0/2 on top, 6 on the bottom). I have to say, I have always been nervous about ordering a one piece suit because of my drastic pear shaped dimensions. I really wouldn't be good to help here as I have always ended up with a tankini on top and boy shorts (or board shorts) on the bottom.

  6. So far the site seems to be working more quickly...it might "bog down" again once more people in other time zones are awake and logging on, though. I still don't like the new site, but I know that I will have to just get used to it, as I doubt they will change it back to the way it used to be. I hate the fact that they list the regular priced merchandise along with the sale items, so that you "click" hoping to get a great deal, but all of the sale items are sold out, and only the regular priced items remain.

The CS rep told me they probably won't be adding any new sale merchandise until they figure out how to just "keep the site running", and that J.Crew is offering Free Gas Cards to it's employees who volunteer to work overtime...I think she is actually working a 12 hour shift today...

    ReplyDelete
  7. FabulousFloridaMommy: First, I know what you mean about seeing just the Regular Priced items in the sale section- complete tease!

Second, thanks for letting us know what the CS told you- especially how they won't be adding any new items. I actually think that is a good move- they should get the site up and running 100% problem free before adding any more items.

  8. I am thinking of buying a T-shirt while they offer freeship. Now I was wondering which color I should buy, bright tangerine or sour lemon. My computer doesn't diplay exact colors. Does anyone recommend which color I should try?

    ReplyDelete
  9. heather c.: I'm not sure what size of the sandals you need...but there are a bunch of them for sale on Ebay right now. :) Just type in J.Crew Capri Sandals or J Crew Capri Sandals in the Search box...then narrow it down to size and color...hope this helps! :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. It is driving me nuts that in the sale section, bathing suit tops and bottoms that go together are nowhere near each other on the page! Hopefully they will rearrange it at some point.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I really dislike the sale section layout -- having to scroll through multiple pages versus having all items in a given category on ONE page. I agree with a poster who in a different post said it looks "cheap." Boo J.Crew. This almost makes me give Gap and Banana Republic more credit -- I used to be so hard on them (lower quality of clothing) but at least their websites look nice and work well!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Anon @9:08 am: both of the colors are very vibrant in person, and hold true to their color names...I personally really like the Bright Tangerine (actually I like all of J.Crew's Orange Pallette of clothing), but alot of that has to do with being blonde, and the Sour Lemon/Yellow Pallette does not look good on me. I think you should probably base your decision on which color is most pleasing to your skin tone.

Anon@9:13 am: I am the one who commented that I think it looks "cheap and cheezy"...I also left that as a comment on my Feedback to J.Crew. The pictures before just seemed more "expensive" looking somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I wanted bright tangerine at the store but they were sold out of my size (perfect fit tshirt). It is bright but very pretty (& I don't usually wear orange). I've been wondering about sour lemon too.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The website is still making me a bit crazy. There are just too many kinks right now - non-sale items in the sale section, when you narrow down by size and then your size isn't listed, $null, etc. Although I do appreciate that the site is actually loading at a reasonable pace, I think I'm going to take a hiatus from the website and just read the blog! :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Changing the Display results to 90 & then sorting low to high has been the best method for me getting around the sale site.

When I use the search box, some womens items say their in the mens section on my browser tab. odd

    The site is faster today.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Rach: I agree...I have been searching that way, as well...I click on my size, then 90 items, then low to high...seems to make it go a little quicker. :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. heather c: not sure how much you are wanting to spend on your sandals, but this site Endless.com , has tons of shoes at decent prices PLUS they ship to you for FREE OVERNIGHT...yes, I said FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING!!! YAY! You will actually get your shoes tomorrow if you order by 7 or 7:30pm tonight, AND they let you return them for FREE if you don't like them. I have ordered from them many, many times and think they are just great. :)

  18. Just got an email from J Crew that the order I had placed on 6/27 has been cancelled. I had actually managed to check order status on their website late last night, and it stated my order would ship in 4-7 days. Guess that's not happening. I suspect that even an order placed today might be cancelled. Who really knows what's in stock and what isn't?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anonymous at 9:08 AM: Much like FabulousFloridaMommy, my vote for color choice is tangerine. Although, since you are getting free shipping, why not order both and then return the one you don't want to the store? ;)

J: That is an excellent point- matching bathing suits should be right next to each other!

Anonymous at 9:13AM: I agree that the sale section use to be better before- just everything "top" on one page.

If they wanted to borrow from the Gap and BR, I don't know why J.Crew didn't incorporate that hoover feature: where your mouse goes over the item and a pop-up box appears with availabel sizes and colors. This way you don't need to open another page (for the item) to see what's available.

It's a southern thing: I think taking a break while they fix it is a smart move. :)

Rach: I notice that some of the women's items get linked to men too. Hopefully this will all be fixed soon (although I have been saying that since Sunday!) ;)

    ReplyDelete
  20. FabulousFloridaMommy - Thanks for all the hints. I actually am watching 6 pairs of those sandals in my size on Ebay! Also, I, too love Endless...it's instant gratification for shoes! I'll check their site and see if they have anything comparable to the J Crew capri sandal.

    ReplyDelete
  21. ST: That is awful about your order!!! :( Is the item still available for re-purchase?

    ReplyDelete
  22. heather c: You are welcome! I hope you are able to get a pair soon! :)

st: had your CC already been charged?

    ReplyDelete
  23. sort of off the subject, but i got my linen yellow peep toe mary janes last night and they are phenomenal. they are just so cute that i thought i would share.

    ReplyDelete
  24. bodini88: you are so lucky! I have been watching for those shoes to be in my size in the Bright Flame or even the Ivory, but with no luck so far! :( Are they comfortable and true to size?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Does the "losing" of orders apply to orders phoned in as well? I phoned an order on 6/27 because the free shipping code wouldn't work online. I know, I should just call, but I'm afraid...!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anon @10:11 am: check to see if your Credit Card has been charged...mine was charged yesterday morning, which in the past has always meant that your order is being shipped...I am hopeful that mine has not been cancelled, and anxiously await my tracking # via email from CS...you could always send them an email if you don't want to call... :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. FFM, i was really worried that the shoes would be too big, i have that problem a lot with jcrew, but they fit perfect. and even though they look like the heel could be to high, they are actually a little lower in person. hopefully, you will find yours soon.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I had sent an email on Sunday inquiring about my order. I received an email on Monday saying the order was "In Process." Today the cancellation email arrived. The item, a white Via Vittoria jacket, is not on the website today, but maybe another day? I'll have to check if my credit card has been charged.

I've wanted a white jacket for summer for awhile so I ordered the white Casa Rosa jacket a week ago. I started to worry about the fit after reading this blog. Well, the jacket arrived and you were right. I called CS and complained and complained and complained about the boxy fit. They said I could return it even though I purchased it final sale. I returned it this Saturday to a J Crew store, but they told me they would have to hold off on the return because their computers were down. Hopefully, it will reappear on the website and I can grab it before somebody else does!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Actually, the via Vittoria jacket is still on the website but not in the Sale section. It says Men Sale at the top when you click on it. Unfortunately, they don't have my size. I'll keep checking.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I placed an order yesterday (s-l-o-w-l-y) and the FREESHIP code worked. I was also happy that I was able to get the shift beach dress in espresso in my size which jumped out of my cart when I tried to order last week! Also... I am wondering if the full price items in the sale section may be going on sale soon? That happened at the most recent Nordstrom half-yearly sale. There was a whole bunch of full price merchandise in the sale section... over the next few days they all had their prices reduced. The items were just moved over before the new prices were posted. (Just a thought - I really have no idea how J Crew works!) At any rate, I'll be checking back :o)

  31. FFM and bodoni88, I got my autumn berry (a.k.a. pink) peeptoe maryjanes this past weekend and am wearing them as I type! I've got so many compliments! Congrats, bodoni88 on your yellow ones, and FFM, they are truly comfy and cute (the two essential C's!). I hope you find the colors in your size soon! =)

    ReplyDelete
  32. ST: I have two white and two flame size 6 Via Vittoria's coming to me (confirmed with CS on phone this am). Would you like one? Let me know if this is your size. No up charges or anything like that -I just ordered them again Saturday after reading about the lost orders.

I will be checking in and out today but will definitely catch up on my reading later tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi, shopping in seattle! =)

From what I've observed with J.Crew, it's usually worth waiting for stuff to go on sale since their turnaround on the merchandise is quite fast, especially between seasons (or rather, about a month or two right before start of a new season). That being said, some of the items are so popular that they run out of inventory right away. Sometimes, it's just the luck of the draw!

But hang around this blog, it's a great resource for all things J.Crew! And not to mention, wonderful people who are more than willing to help a fellow J.Crew junkie out! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. eddie & stretch's momma: thanks for all the advice on the shoes...I was "on the fence" before when they actually had them in my size, as I didn't know the fit/comfortability factors, but now that you, bodoni88, and slastena have all purchased the same style/different colors and RAVED about them...I REALLY WANT A PAIR!!! I will definitely keep my eye on them...I bet there will be more once they are able to add new merchandise to the Sale section. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. FFM, don't tell anyone but I actually bought a yellow pair of those on ebay (for $50!!) and can't wait to get them!

I am so ready for the kinks to be ironed out...so much for the boycott. *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  36. eddie & stretch's momma: $50??? I am SO envious!!!! I actually already checked there to see if any were in my size and there aren't right now, unless I were to go down by 1/2 size, and I'm not sure that would work. Congrats!!! You really got a FABULOUS deal! :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks, FFM! I think I did too! =D

Given all the frustration with the site, I decided to go to ebay for my J.Crew fix (as so did many of you I'm sure!) and found those yellow peeptoes ending soon. You KNOW I had to get in the action! LOL!

I'm still a little wary of getting on the site, get my hopes up for something that I can't get because it's not really in stock...but I'm checking right now. I'm going to try what rach has suggested - changing the view to 90 results and going from low to high. We'll see how it goes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. FFM, what size are you looking for?

    ReplyDelete
  39. bodoni88: unfortunately I wear a size 10, but occasionally a 9.5, depending on the shoe style...that size seems to be one of the first to go online, but are rarely available on Ebay. :(

    ReplyDelete
  40. Alexis: In response to your question I used the Freeship code last night over the phone to order a pair of wellies. Since the ones i got were slightly too big (but I like them and I will just keep them at our weekend home). the CS was super sweet and also gave me my educator's discount! YAy

  41. Hi FFM. I saw a pair of emerald mary janes in size 10 in the store 2 days ago. The number is 847-619-8137.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anon @11:50 am: THANKS!!! I also managed to get on the website and they have some of the other colors in the patent in my size, too...I would really LOVE to be able to get the Linen Peep Toes in the Bright Flame if possible...did you happen to see any of them at your store?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm still confused. After spending some time on the site's sale section again (the retail section seems to be doing pretty well), some items are still showing up that are either not in their inventory anymore or are not really on sale.

I would love to see if the FREESHIP coupon works, if I could only get something I would like to purchase in my darned shopping cart!

    ReplyDelete
  44. FFM: I haven't seen the linen ones but I will keep my eyes open. I also wear size 10, sometimes 9.5 so it will be easy for me :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. THANKS AGAIN Anon @11:50...I really appreciate it! :) Btw...if you do get a chance to try on the 9.5's, let me know if they will work as well...I'm thinking because they are a peep toe, and not closed in, that the 9.5 just might do...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Of course I took advantage of the FREESHIP offer!! I do not like that I had to set up a whole new profile though - that is the major disappointment but this morning I called their customer service and as always received excellent help on order history so that I can return a few items. Love their CS department.

    ReplyDelete
  47. FFM, i just saw a pair of the ivory linen ones on ebay in size 9.5 and the price right now is only 39.99. maybe those would work.

    ReplyDelete
  48. bodoni88: thanks for the heads up! I'm going to keep watching them...that would be FANTASTIC to get them at that price! :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. yeah, they are pretty cute. let me know how it turns out FFM. Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I haven't looked at the JCrew website at all in 2 days. Just don't feel like dealing with it. I am in the process of breaking my daily checking and I am doing fine without it...plus, I am exploring other sites and am happy:)

    ReplyDelete
  51. FFM: I will try 9.5 if I see the linen shoes in the store. Different topic: I not only love the things J.Crew sells, I also love the the look of the models in the catalogs. Especially their delicate and natural makeup. I always wanted those natural lips :) and recently found a perfect gloss. It is by chanel so you may find it expensive but it looks great. It is aqualumiere gloss in bonbon #73. They also have this amazing sheer lip pencil for gloss in rose honey #48. I wear these all the time with my J.Crew clothes :)

  52. hi alexis & everyone:
been a while since i posted...this whole web fiasco is tiring. i'm waiting it out before i make any more online purchases...i plan on visiting the store tomorrow in hopes of some good deals...the associate told me last time that fall stuff will arrive early this year too...can't wait for that.

ANYWAY, i know this is off topic but since we talked about it earlier....
20% off on-sale items at cole haan online and in stores...code for online is: JULY4

    have a great day :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. FFM--thanks for posting the tip about calling my CC company. They say my card was charged on the 26th so things are looking good--yay! Someone wanted to know about one-piece suits--I am a 2-4 on top and a 32C or 34 B and a 4-6 on the bottom and I ordered a 6 in the one pieces. The one with the twist front and built in bra fit great and made me look like I had a bit more on top--the lower cut one with the piece of bamboo in the front had too much fabric under the bust and made me look saggy. I think this would be a great suit for someone a bit bustier!

  54. While I'm contemplating the free shipping, I have a question on the Zoey dress. I'm looking at the metallic one. Has anyone tried this on? Does it look really sack-like?

I think it is really cute, and I'd love to wear it to a friend's wedding this fall, but I'm not sure about a) the fit or b) wearing it again. It's not exactly the wear-around-town type of dress.

My other option is the cotton cady Juliette dress in espresso with a sweater of some kind/jacket to go with it to make it less bridesmaid-y (I wore this in my sister's wedding; apparently my friend's fiance is having her girls wear brown dresses too).

    ReplyDelete
  55. Rach - Thanks, but I need a size 10 in the via Vittoria jacket. Thanks again.

  56. i forgot to include the expiration date for the cole haan coupon code: JULY4 exp. july 6

  57. Checking Order Status:

Cust Svc sent me a cross reference list to new order numbers for the three orders I placed on Friday, 6/27. There are two places to check orders:

ORDER HISTORY page (located on the My Account page): My orders are NOT available on this page.

ORDER STATUS page (located at the top of the JCrew site page): My orders ARE retreivable on this page.

Sorry if this is duplicate information. I would think the Order History page would have the info. too but maybe it's not available until after the order has shipped from JCrew.

    ReplyDelete
  58. FFM: Just a warning about the peeptoes...I am a true size 10 too, and when I tried both the 9.5 and the 10, I definitely needed the extra half size. It has something to do with the way the toe is rounded. Just thought I would share a differing opinion!

I found the patent peeptoes in emerald green at the J.Crew Clearance store this weekend for only $50! And they were so comfy, but alas, I really want the black ones (for the $50 price tag)!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I just checked my order under "order status"... anyone have any idea what status OPEN means? I hope my items really are in stock! thanks :o)

    ReplyDelete
  60. I know status 'Released' means that the package has been processed and is ready to be shipped. (Per Cust Svc email about my shipments.)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm so happy that the website is somewhat working again. I've been stalking the sale items as much as I could the past couple of days. I was so excited to see that J Crew is having free shipping for all us frustrated customers. I just bought the Candace jacket in sweet orange and a slub-cotton twist-neck tee. I'm so excited yet a little nervous because everything is final sale. Does anyone know how the fit of the Candace jacket is? I'm a little afraid it might be too boxy and I'm a 2/4 on top. A small should fit right?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Haus-frau: my friend got the Zoey dressto wear for a wedding and returned it. She said she felt like a hanging clump or sea weed. She wished she had really read the sea weed comment in the description. Just an FYI...Take the comment as you want! Good luck finding a dress!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Chini, I'm also pear shaped (size 2/4 on top, size 4/6 on bottom) I'm a size 4 in J Crew's pants, but with traditional bathing suits I always buy a size 6 for my bottom half. I'm new to JCrew swimwear, but I have to say I'm hooked---they are fabulous! This year, I bought 2 Jcrew bikinis (size 4 on top---and size Mediums for the bottom. They worked out perfectly.) One piece suits are often a pain in the rear (no pun intended) but I did find 2 suits that worked from JCrew. Is it me, or are they cut bigger on the bottoms than traditional designer suits? I (and my bum) am LOVING that! The solid underwire glamour tank fit me great in a size 4. I couldn't believe it wasn't too small on the bottom, but it was perfect. The pinstripe seersucker shirred underwire tank also fit me in a 4, but because of the material I felt this one felt a bit smaller all-around. I could have easily done the size 6, but my girls couldn't quite fill up the top so I sized down. Hope that helps! :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. haus_frau,
I tried the Zoey dress on in the store yesterday, and I was not a fan. I found it to be quite sack like and felt like belting it would be too fussy with the patterned material. I just didn't feel like it was a flattering cut at all. I found the pique short sleeve dress to be similarly unflattering. I like shifts, but I'm really picky as far as the cut goes.

    ReplyDelete
  65. it's.a.southern.thing: Thanks for the information about the fit on the Peep-Toes! $50 at your store...amazing...too bad they didn't have the black...I Love those, too. :)

  66. anon @ 2:43,
I commented on the Candace jacket in the last post, here is the link. I'm a 0/2, so if you are a 2/4 a small is probably ok. the second button is across the bust.

    shopping in seattle,

my items say "submitted" and "open," plus i got a call yesterday saying my order had shipped (though no email and no tracking number posted online). no idea what any of it means!

  67. When I called CS this morning about my order I was told it was on their truck to go to UPS...NOW when I just called back, I was told it was STILL in the warehouse, and then of course she apologized. I asked if it had been Cancelled and she said "No, No...it's in the warehouse ready to go". So I asked her to PLEASE tell SOMEONE in the warehouse to THROW MY PACKAGE ON THE TRUCK, so that it can get to UPS, and then to me...how hard can it really be?

  68. FabulousFloridaMommy:

Love your posts!! They always make me smile, if not guffaw!

Hope you get your packages soon. I want mine NOW!! This morning (for the first time in 2 weeks), I woke up to NO packages on my front porch and felt strange.

  69. Hi all! Wanted to share an idea with you...I think it would be a really great idea for J.Crew to set our profiles for online checkout to automatically calculate our Educator and Student dicounts when we shop and checkout via computer, as opposed to always having to call the order in to get them applied...it would save everyone a whole lot of time! They supposedly now have ALL of our info stored in one profile, so why not also have our online profile set to remember that we get the discounts?

    ReplyDelete
  70. My order from Friday is not lost but some items shipped, some were cancelled and others say Open or Submitted by them. What the heck! I am furious. I am not buying anything else for a very LONG time. That is just the worst:( Free shipping is not going to ease my "pain".

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think some of us could do with a shopping break. Packages daily for weeks on end??? That is a unique way to go through life.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thanks Vivian...glad to know I make you smile! :)

I think the CS girl was a little surprised when I said it, but come ON now...their computer issues are one thing I am trying to be patient with them about, but physically throwing my package (already paid for none the less)on the truck (no computer involved, just actual physical human labor)is a completely different issue...give me a break!

    ReplyDelete
  73. vivian: regarding the "no packages" issue...I feel your pain...I think I am going through withdrawals right now...if we order something from Endless.com it will be delivered to us tomorrow...hmmm....

(JUST KIDDING...I need to really wait for the next extra % off sale and more merchandise to be added...I'm hoping it will be a good one to make up for all of this mess and hassle.)

  74. Thank you for the comments on the Zoey dress, crewobsessed and josie!

I think I'll pass on it...

  75. Hello everyone! I just came back from two J Crew stores in Manhattan (NY). They are still running their additional 25% off sale merchandise. My hear is set on the Slub Cotton Beach Weekend Dress in Navy XS. Unfortunately, they didn't have the color or size for me, but there are tons of other stuff on sale. I think J Crew is extending their sale because of their website glitch.

    ReplyDelete
  76. FYI: I actually worked at UPS a long time ago, so I really DO know what the whole shipping process entails, and that is why I said what I did to her. :)

    ReplyDelete
  77. it's a southern thing:

I just bought the patent peep toe in emerald in a size 6.5. I am usually a 7 but found the last 2 pairs of shoes I ordered to be too big (Liv ballet flats and Pepper Suede Peep Toe). I am just wondering if I should start putting my "wrangle-out-of-final-sale" thinking cap on! :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. I was under the impression that student/educator discounts are valid in-store only. That's what their emails and associates have always said.

    ReplyDelete
  79. lynn: You are also able to get the discount over the phone, as well.

  80. FFM- I didn't realize it was online orders as well!

I have placed an order on a Friday before... during a non-chaotic time :-) and J.Crew didn't ship the package until the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Stalking customer service probably may not speed things up ;-)

  81. Ah, yes Lynn...you are SO right...it's a fine line you know...between stalker and worried, frustrated, perplexed customer...guess all the stories of lost and cancelled orders combined with worry they will do the same to me...has caused the line to be blurred...

  82. Taking a step back and looking at this whole situation still shocks me. I can't believe such a well-seasoned company like J.Crew would have such an amateur new website launch!

  83. Copleycrew: I'm not really sure about the fit of their flats because I don't own any of them. (Even at 5'9", I'm just not much of a flats person...) But if you have found that you need a half a size smaller, I'm sure it will continue to hold true! :) You'll have to let us know what you think when you get them. Hopefully they'll fit perfectly! :)

  85. I managed to get a really cool CS rep, who said she's going to set my edu email into my profile so that I don't have to call each time to get the educator's discount ever again. Sounds too good to be true. She sounded really like she knows what she's doing.

  86. The educator discount - I managed to get it each time over the phone. I would place my order online and then call to get the 15% applied.

I think some of us could do with a shopping break. Packages daily for weeks on end??? That is a unique way to go through life.

Yeah, I know. I have been ordering lots of J.Crew. My baby is turning two, and I finally decided some of my Mommy weight is never going to go away. After holding off buying new clothes for so long, I need a new wardrobe. I used to be a P0/00 but I'm now a 2. So I lost an entire wardrobe - except for my collection of shoes. For two years, I laid off heels and bought only flats.

My frenzy has nothing to do with final sale. I started picking up items that I like even back in May :)
