J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including JustVisiting (in this post), shopwithm (in this post), as well as Irina, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website today (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, as did the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The latest catalog (click here to view) is finally available to view. As we already know, the new catalog is a destination catalog. There are several gorgeous on-location images of Bali. Yey!

My top pick from this latest roll out... the Perfect Shirt in Chambray Polka Dot (Item 89276; $88.00). (The shirt shown on the homepage of J.Crew and in the first image of this post too.) After doing the math [Chambray + Polka Dots = Perfection], I need to get this shirt ASAP!

Random!
There is no new promotion being offered at J.Crew currently. The last one was for men's swim. Hopefully we will see a really good one being offered soon!

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. Hi everyone, not something *new*, but I just uploaded the April 2008 catalog to The J. Crew Archives. (Sorry for the double post.) Enjoy!

  2. I tried on the printed linen tunic yesterday at my store. The print is gorgeous, runs a little large, I loved it. I just wish it was a tag longer so I could wear it more comfortably with my Minnies. I might splurge, but I really shouldn't since long-sleeves and a Memphis summer don't mix well.

Also love the color block linen sweater, the gold linen sparkle sweater, the mint blythe, & new colors of Valentinas.

I'm not buying anything though, the recent sales have me shopped out!

    1. AllisonFay, I agree the printed linen tunic is lovely but definitely a size down item. But not an item that would work for me but would love great on you taller ladies.

  3. I love the new cabochon fan earrings and necklaces.

    1. I think they are gorgeous too.

    2. It will be so hard to choose between the two colors.

  4. Loooooove the new color in the Silk Blythe Blouse, Shallow Sea. (For some reason the swatch still isn't showing up for Regular sizes??) Hopefully this isn't one of those items where the IRL color is completely different from the website color! I just received my second Blythe (in Sand Dune) and I think I'm going to be a collector now! Lol. Excited that there is a new, dreamy color out; I haven't much liked the bright blues, purples, and yellows of late.

I also like that they seem to be bringing crystal back to the jewelry. The Flower Lattice Necklace isn't me per se, but I like its flurry of delightful activity. I kind of like the Cabochon Fan Necklace in the green color; not sure if it'll be a necessity for me though.

I know many people don't like the the crazy layering and multiple necklaces that J. Crew did around 2010, but I'm actually rather fond of it and rather like the looks on the homepage feature. A little worried that the Tiki Shorts are getting so much exposure though - I liked those before and hope they aren't going to sell out before getting to sale!

    1. Didn't some swim come in s hallow sea? It looked like a pale mint in the catalog

    2. I just posted in the "Love" post about the Shallow Sea color in a merino cardigan. If the Blythe is the same color, it should be amazing!

      Delete
    3. Ah, good point! Thanks. I don't usually pay attention to the swim. Looks like a few other items come in the Shallow Sea too. Mint has been pretty trendy recently.

    4. life as a cat, I missed the crazy layering too! That's the first thing that I thought when I saw the new arrivals page this morning, glad it's back!

    1. Ahahaha. I almost understand where it's going, but don't think I could wear it. I can imagine some haute hippie wearing it though. It has a bit of a Marc by Marc Jacobs vibe.

    2. That's probably why I love the broken-stripe cardigan and tee, haha. Crazy cat lady through and through! :)

    3. "Haute hippie"! LOL This is the expression of the day.

      Delete
    4. There is actually a fashion line called Haute Hippie.

  6. I wish they would have made capris or a pencil skirt out of the tike fabric that those shorts on the ad are made of! That is so rude! Besides that I like the dotted chambray shirt. Need to see and try on the new things to make any decisions.

  7. CREPE KNIT SUNDRESS item 83767

Anyone see this dress in stores? Any chance it cones in a different color? The dress looks like it'll work for some summer weddings and parties I need to go to, but "modern red" (AKA orange) is just the worst color for my skin tone.

    1. I would love for it to come in other colors as well. It looks like it is a beautiful shape. Odd that there is only one color offering online!

  8. LOVE the polka dot Chambray shirt! That is my "pick" too, Alexis :)
I have a similar shirt from Land's End Canvas from last year, but the dots are bigger and the material is pretty thick. It is impossible to wear that shirt in warm weather and not sweat to death. I'm hoping this perfect shirt will be a nice, lightweight material!

  9. I don't need any summer clothes so not much caught my eye. I love the two tone leather belt in portobello mushroom. If there was a free ship promo, I would have ordered that straight away.

  10. Lots of jewelry I love. Love those big, clunky necklaces.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I love the new green Valentina pumps! Gorgeous.
Some of the jewelry is beautiful.

  12. I reviewed the perfect shirt in chambray polka dots HERE.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The new necklaces are gorgeous. I love big 1950's-inspired costume jewelry.

FYI: New arrivals at Madewell too, plus a big update to their sale section. Lots of things are final sale, though.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I have a couple of reviews here.

I loved all the items I tried for the blog, including the linen scoopneck sweater.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I also really like the Chambray polka-dot shirt. A lot of the new jewelry is very pretty, too.

I was surprised that the polka-dot shirt from the Spring 2012 Lookbook that is now available on Net-a-Porter (details here) wasn't included in the new arrivals today. Perhaps the stores will get it before the website does? I'd love to hear a review if anyone happens to see it in their B&M, or if they ordered it from Net-a-Porter.

Also, along with the new arrivals there was a switch up on the Promo-priced items again. I've updated both the Women's and Men's list this morning. :)

    *Women's list here.
    *Men's list here.

  16. The jewelry is fun, but overpriced (as always), and I love the new printed cafe capris... not seeing much of anything else though.

  17. The fan shaped cabochon necklace is gorgeous in person! I may use rewards to purchase that. And the biennial hobo in red is right up my alley. Those psychadelic oxfords or whatever they are are scary. Psychadelic in a "bad trip" kind of way, lol!

  18. I purchased the Chambray Polka dot shirt yesterday and it is lovely, substantial material and great fit as noted by other JCAs. Definitely a shirt you can wear all year round.

  19. I'm getting ready to place an order for a few things, including the Chambray polka dot perfect shirt...can anyone tell me how these run? I am a 34B in the chest and usually wear a size XS or S in J.Crew sweaters and shirts....I can't figure out if I should get a 2 or a 4....THANKS!

    ReplyDelete

    1. nicole, see my review by clicking on link above. I would say go with a 2 for a closer fit.

      Delete
    2. Nicole, for some reason I always take a 6 in J Crew shirts (34C), but I did try on the 4 and it was ok but a bit gappy in the front which I hate, so you maybe ok with a 2.

      Delete
    3. Interesting on the size and I'm at 34 b and I were either 8 or 10 in the perfect shirt maybe it's because I'm 5 foot 10

      Delete
    4. I'm a 34B and a solid small in JCrew, and I'm always a 4 in the perfect shirt. If I were you I'd get a 2 since sometimes you take an xsmall.

  21. If that double serge pencil skirt in golden burgundy was wool it would be mine in a second...just don't see as much use out of cotton. Here's hoping for fall!

Nothing much else catching my eye, although some of the gold chunky bracelets are cute.

    1. Yes, that skirt also has me hopeful for a similar wool version. Last year, I think the wool double serge skirts started to trickle out in July. I'm crossing my fingers since I can wear them year round in my cool PacNW climate.

  22. The Telegram Suede Hobo in Byzantine Blue (item 77597) is gorgeous!

  23. I totally agree that the new jewelry looks great! And, I had to grab the chambray polka dot top earlier this week. It's super, super cute!

  24. I received the June catalog a long time ago and was just thinking that I'd like to get July soon. Personally, I didn't love the June issue. I thought that the location overshadowed the clothes. I also don't like a lot of the pairings like a baggy top with an unfitted skirt...I would never wear that. But as separates, I liked- and bought- a few things this month. Selma Sunglasses, seersucker blazer, etc. The thing I'll be returning is the confetti dot sundress. I just don't love it for $88. A lot of the items are overpriced-- I'm waiting for a good promo!

    1. I have the July catalog. I don't have a blog or anything, so do you guys have any tips on how to upload pix to here?

    2. Sabrina - I'm going to try to get the catalog scanned today or tomorrow and upload it to The J. Crew Archives. If you plan on scanning images, you could email them to me (my email is on The J. Crew Archives) and I can credit you on the blog.

    3. That works great! It's okay no need to credit me! I have no access to a scanner or even anything greater than an iphone camera for a few days so I won't be able to do anything from my end after all. Thanks for doing this though and getting back to me!

  25. Love the Légion d'honneur jacket.

  26. Hi FFW, considered that telegram hobo too except it says "import" and the last JC item I bought with that label was made in China and very cheap.

    ReplyDelete
  27. HI FFM, that polk-dot bow blouse came out on Net-a-Porter quite a while back but sold out almost immediately. It is now back in a few sizes. I thought I read on here that they were not selling it on the web through JC. That was a long time ago that it was discussed.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks Shekster! I didn't see it on Net-a-Porter the first time around, but do remember someone mentioning that it wasn't going to be produced. I had just assumed that meant not produced at all, so that's why I was pleasantly surprised to see it on Net-a-Porter last week. Hopefully someone who ordered it from there will give a review. :)

  29. I thought the receipt pouch in dot (13132) looked cute, but it's already marked down to $24.99 - 30% in stores. I can't bring myself to pay FP (or even first markdown in most cases) at JC anymore!

    1. I haven't bought anything full price at jcrew in the least 3 years I agree it's ridiculous I'll take a chance n it selling out. The quality is just not there

  30. The chambray polka dot shirt is just so cute! I went on today and looked for the featherweight cashmere stripe boatneck tee in neon azalea/melon that I've been eyeing for a while now, and they took it off the site! I live chatted with a J crew representative and they said it's available for pre-order, weird since it has been on the site for a little while now I think. Did anyone purchase this before they took it off the site? How's the sizing and are the colors as pretty in real life? Also wondering about the promenade skirt which I think is fairly new, would love to hear if anyone has tried it on...

    2. Not sure you saw my answer, but the colours are as pretty, if not nicer IRL. I am certain if you called the PS service they will get it for you. It is item 75636. You will need to size down in it.

    3. Oh, thanks so much I just saw it! It looks like it fit quite large on you; I'm normally a medium would you recommend sizing down one or two sizes? Thanks again!

  31. I stopped in at The Mothership today to return a few things and picked up the Havana clutch in red for $34.99, the Linen cable knit cardigan in the seafoam color for $24.49, a vintage cotton tee for $6.99, a featherweight cardi in casablana blue for $20.99 and a cab/crystal bracelet in orange for $13.99. Also I mentioned that the blue bauble anchor necklace is on sale on the website for $39.99 (it was still full price in the store) and they sold it too me for the sale price plus 30% off....$27.99! Also sold me the cute ladybug earrings at the sale price of $19.99 less 30%...$13.99. My J. Crew stores ROCK! I'm pretty sure if I asked about anything on the site that was sale priced, my store would have matched it plus 30$ off. You may want to try this at your stores. I don't know if it's a managerial decision per store or what. I also picked up the jacquard dot pullover. It kept disappearing from my cart and my stores never had my size. Well today it was finally there. I also bought the new sailor boatneck tee in the white with red stripes. It runs a tad small. I wear a XS in tee shirts but bought a medium in this sailor top. It is mostly in the sleeves...I don't have skinny arms. I briefly looked at the new polka dot chambray shirt and may go back this weekend and try it on.

  32. forgot to mention...I tried on the kaleidoscope capris. If you thought the foulard print capris were too much for you, stay clear of these new pants! Of course, they will be mine because the more print, color texture and jewelry I can pile on my body, the happier I am!

  33. I posted links to reviews of several new arrivals HERE.

  34. I just noticed that the polka dot chambray shirt I bought in store today was $78 vs. $88 online!

    1. Correct, it was $78 in store. Not cool.

      Delete
    2. My thoughts exactly. They did a similar thing when the jacquard polka dot popover was re-released after being backordered for months. My store had the price changed to $108 vs. $88 originally in-store and online. Fortunately, my sa honored the original price of $88. I would not have bought it otherwise!

    3. Wow that's unbelievable never heard of a company charging a 10 dollar difference verses on line on a new item I will not be buying that shirt on principle alone

  35. I'm very excited about the Linen Printed tunic

  36. Have prices gone up again? The cashmere tee is $148. I don't recall it being that much.

  37. Hi everyone, just added some IRL pics and reviews of new items, including the Silk Dervish Paisley Tunic, the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Golden Burgundy, the Filigree-Embroidered Jacket and Dress, and the Perfect Shirt in Chambray Polka Dot here. There will be a Part 2 coming in a day or a few with the Tiki shorts, the Printed Linen Tunic, the Pleated Mini in Awning Stripe, and a few other items, so check back soon!

  38. oh gosh, you guys are right about the pricing on the jacquard polka dot popover. The last time I looked at it in the store (like a week ago) it was $108.00 and I thought that was too much. Today I bought it at $88.00. Weird.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I noticed that too... I bought it online for $88.00 and saw the price of $108 in the store and the best part was in the Palo Alto, CA in the same pile they have some at both the prices ... ha ha .

  39. Hey everyone, I'm working on the July catalog right now and should have it up on The J. Crew Archives over the course of the day (Friday). I'll post the Women's section first, which will probably be up in the morning or afternoon. I've got all the images scanned right now and am in the process of editing them.

  40. Ok! It's been uploaded! I've just finished putting the women's section (as well as the back cover) of the July 2012 catalog on The J. Crew Archives. The kids' and men's sections will be added throughout the day. Please also consider supporting the Archives! :)

  41. Oops, I think I posted in the wrong thread before, so sorry for the triple post, but the kids' and men's sections of the July catalog are up on The J. Crew Archives. Remarks coming soon.

  42. I was expecting a new rollout today, fall preview I had hoped, because it is the third Thursday of the month. Are they off that schedule now? Or will there be a big rollout next Thursday?

I know summer just started but I'm already fantasizing about cashmere sweater colors!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The new rollouts aren't fixed to a certain week of the month, but rather, to the time since the last rollout. There's a new rollout every two Thursdays, and every other rollout (i.e., every four Thursdays) is a big monthly rollout, which is always accompanied by the new monthly catalog. Last Thursday was the July rollout. The rollouts in-between the monthly ones are smaller.

Because this rollout period of four weeks (28 days) is shorter than the number of days in most months, the dates of the Thursdays rollouts shift earlier every month, which is why we had July's rollout come before June was halfway over. As such, there's a "reset" sometime in the year (I can't remember exactly when; I think it's either before the Fall rollout or sometime during the holidays - we had a discussion last year about it) where there's an extra week between two of the rollouts, so as to shift the Thursday rollout date later again.
