It's that time again, to take a look at an image of J.Crew pieces from seasons past! As caribbelle (in this post) so beautifully termed, "ye olde j crew of yore".
This post features the Polka-Dot Bow Skirt (Item 90966; $95.00) from 2008. (Honestly, this skirt could easily fit in with J.Crew's current offerings.) The cotton poplin skirt is on trend with its polka dot design. The self belt that ties in a bow at the front waist is a nice touch.
What are your thoughts on the look(s)/item(s) from the past? Do you find the look(s)/item(s) classic or do you think they are dated?
This whole look is pretty cute, and fits in with today's print mash-up trend.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy these blasts from "ye olde" past, Alexis, thanks!
I actually still have that exact sweater and wear it a lot. It's got a very classic nautical theme that keeps popping back up every summer, and yellow never goes out of style. Seeing this pic just makes me want to hunt for the other pieces of the outfit, lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the whole outfit!
ReplyDeletethis skirt pops up a lot on ebay; i wonder if a factory version was made too?
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw a factory version of it last night on eBay. It was going for $25 and it is a size 12.
DeleteI own the bow skirt and absolutely love it. Dots, pockets and a bow -- what could be better?! I love to pair it with the Keeper Chambray shirt and bright linen/perfect shirts.
ReplyDeleteLove the dots and stripes combination. It takes skill to mix patterns so well.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit looks totally this-season.
I brought this skirt out of the archives for this summer! Love wearing it with stripes.
ReplyDeleteI love the whole outfit but would not feel comfortable wearing so many patterns myself. I have the sweater in the color in the photo and a solid red similar to J Crew's "modern red"as well. They both get a lot of wear each year. Great quality and weight to the cotton.
ReplyDeleteHi. If anyone has a size 0 navy and white skirt they are willing to sell, I would be interested! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI have this skirt and this sweater, not sure if I'd wear it with a striped shirt as well but I think with a solid navy or white tee I'd be on board! And I love the look in the catalog, the preppy-nautical-classic style is my favorite version of J Crew.
ReplyDeleteI have this skirt in the pink polka dot color and I bring it into my rotation to this day. In addition to being very cute, it's quite flattering!
ReplyDeleteThe model looks adorable, but I'm afraid I'd look like a crazy cat lady in that outfit...
