Love it or Leave it: Sale Items Review

I was lucky enough to get some really fantastic suggestions in the "me, the Crew,... and you!" post. One of the great ideas (and I plan on using all of the them!) came from Fabulousfloridamommy who suggested listing current items in the sale section for others to review. I think that this is a great idea (especially with the current "additional 20% off" sale) and so I have listed a few items here that I hope those who have (or are thinking about owning) will share their views and questions.

  1. I love the katie jacket. I have worn my twice out, and both times I received numerous compliments on it. I think it looks nice with dark, dressier jeans and cute flats, but it could be dressed up more, too. I definitely recommend it, especially at the sale price!

  2. I have tried on the Solid Katie sweater jacket in both the navy and the geranium (aka: bright pink/red) at the store (and ended up ordering the navy online yesterday!)

I have to say the geranium did not look good on me at all. It was surprisingly brighter than the picture. It is a very vivid color that works well for some people, unfortunately not for me. (I will say the color in person is beautiful.) Not only was the color too bright for me, it also made the sweater look more "boxier" on me (I know this sounds weird, but the navy seemed to be more slimming on me than the geranium version- even in the same size!)

The navy was actually quite nice. The ruffles didn't stick out or overwhelm the jacket.

The jacket itself is quite thick and lovely. I am really looking forward to receiving it next week! :)

  3. I'm wondering how see through/sheer the Frances blouse is?

Lately a lot of their new blouses have been really cute, but very sheer. You can't tell from the catalog, but in real life it's impossible to wear them without another shirt underneath.

Anyway, just wondering if Frances is very sheer. Thanks!

  4. Kellyanne311: I am glad to hear you like the Katie sweater too! I can't wait to get mine now. :)

PixelGirl: I have to agree with you that the Frances Blouse looks sheer, but you can't tell 100% for sure. I hope someone else can let us know.

On a side note: I hate how expensive the sheer shirts/blouses are. They cost as much as a regular blouse. For those prices, the sheer versions should include the tank top that has to be worn underneath! :)

  5. I have ordered the ruffle pique dress in both a small in a medium. I normally wear a size 6 in J.Crew dresses and am curvy, so I wasn't sure which size to go with (I don't want it to be a clingy fit). I will post later on the fit when I receive them!

  6. I've been wondering about the Frances blouse, since it is available in tall. I have the Emily blouse (wish I had more) and love it! Also sheer (an appropriately colored undergarment could alleviate the need for another shirt underneath) but so lightweight and comfy for summer temps.
I've noticed this season that a lot of the colors are bright! bright! bright! and don't show up that way in the catalog or online, just in person.
Speaking of which the most recent catalog seems to have a color enhanced swim seperate section. It looks as though they just tweaked the colors on existing swim photos from early in the spring. Unfortunately I think the color correcting messed with the coloring on the model too.
One more note, I placed an order on Monday for Kingston suede mocs (thanks to this blog) and some other items from the sale section. They are honoring the additional 20% off on everything, including the mocs!

  7. I just bought the Katie in geranium and can't wait for it to arrive. I was bummed that the sour lemon stripe sold out at $29.99 but was equally happy to get the solid for $31.99 with the extra 20% off.

  8. K: please let us know about the ruffle dress. I am a pear shape, so I was worried about how my curves might look in a dress like that too! :)

Marisa: LOVE the Emily blouse. I have 5 of them (3 solids, 2 prints). I didn't know about the color/catalog situation. Makes me worried a bit about the acqua blue blouse I bought yesterday (maybe it will be too bright for me).

Also, let me know if you love or LOVE the Kingston suede mocs (which I own a pair!) Which color did you get? :)

  9. I have purchased 3 of the 4 items in this post. Katie Jacket - purchased it in Geranium. I really like it. Not as much as I love my Camilla jacket but enough to keep it. I paid $47.99 for it on the last sale. Love the weight of the fabric. The color is bright but I have dark hair and fair skin and the color does wonders for me. I have a size 36B chest and got the size small and it fits perfectly.

I also purchased the Frances Blouse in True Aqua. They were sold out of the regular 6 so I got it in a Petite 8 and it too fits beautifully. Please keep in mind that I'm short - I'm only 5 feet 3 and 1/2 inches tall. Have to get that half inch. lol! I love the tie at the neck and the ruffles around the bodice. I also love the fact that the waist is tapered in and there's not a whole lot of fabric flopping around. It is somewhat sheer. I find that if I were to wear a skin-toned bra underneath, I can get away without having to wear a cami. I would need a cami with all other bra colors though.

I also purchased but returned the Twill Boatneck Blouse. I was one of the lucky ones who purchased it in the Marigold colorway. I just LOVE that print and had to have it. But the blouse did nothing for me. The 4 was too loose around the waist and made me look chunky. The 2 was better around the waist but so tight across the chest that I had to get my husband to help me get out of it. Although I loved the print, the blouse did nothing for me.

Hope this helps others who are looking at buying these items.

  10. I have Katie in geranium and have received many compliements on both the color and style. I agree with Alexis that the color is not for everyone, it is quite bright. Has anyone purchased the dress??? Wondering if I would like it.....

I know that I mentioned it in another blog, but not sure if anyone responded... Has anyone seen the Owen Bag in person????

    ReplyDelete
  11. I have the frances blouse in blue. While it is rather sheer (would require either a nude bra or a slip underneath), it's really adorable with the ruffled collar and sleeves. It fit runs small...I normally wear a size 0p, yet the size 2P fits well. Do note--due to the rather open neckline, this becomes far more risque on "bustier" girls than it looks on the model.

I also ordered (and returned) the Katie sweater jacket. I had the striped yellow version. The boxy cut doesn't work well with curves. It hangs off of my shoulders and bust, and becomes tent-like over my waist. The horizontal stripes probably did not help either.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Alexis - how do you wear the emily shirts?

I think they are so cute, but bought the white and found it to be really sheer, even with a nude bar.

Because it's so thin and flitty, I didn't think it would look right to wear a cami underneath.

I'd love to hear how you wear yours!

  13. If an item is on backorder and goes on sale prior to shipment, will customer service adjust the price if requested by the customer?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Auryanne, thank you for your comment about the striped Katie Sweater. I've been beating myself up for not getting it sooner and now it's sold out. I desperately needed a small but could not get one. However, your comments about it having horizontal stripes is making me think twice about purchasing it. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I tried on the yellow striped Katie sweater in the store and it looked too boxy. :( Like Auryane said, I think the stripes contributed to this effect. I didn't like how it looked unbuttoned either. Too bad, because I -love- the color! The geranium color is like fuschia bordering on red... very lovely! I saw it in the store, but none in my size. :(

Something I'd like some opinions on is the Candace jacket, because I LOVE the bright blue and orange colors! I'm just afraid it'll be too boxy on me. I have bag luck when it comes to those "swing" cut jackets.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I have the Printed silk twill boatneck top in Sand and love it with dark skinny jeans (OK I love pretty much everything with dark skinny jeans...long and cropped) :) I just ordered the Katie sweater in geranium partly because I love the style and partly because I needed to make the $100 min. before the SEASHELL coupon expired...what a steal at 31.99! I am worried about the color though. I have a pair of wool gloves from this past winter in geranium and they are sort of blinding! It seems like one of those love it or hate it colors depending on what the garment is! We'll see how it is when I get it...

    ReplyDelete
  17. to anonymous about the backordered price adj....I have the same question. I have a sweater that is "expected to ship" on the 16th but is on sale now plus %20 off. I plan on calling jcrew about it before the sale ends tomorrow to try and see if they'll adjust it now...it's my understanding that they will charge you whatever the price is at the time of shipping.

  18. Yogichicki: The solid for $32 is a great buy! :)

Anonymous at 3:41PM: Thank you so much for your review! Especially the Twill Boatneck- I was thinking about getting it and your account of sizing with that item is especially useful! :)

Nicole R: You are so lucky you can pull of the geranium Kate sweater. When I saw it on the hanger in the store, I thought it was so pretty that I just had to try it on! Unfortunately, I have not seen the Owen Bag in person. Come to think of it, I have never seen the really expensive purses at a J.Crew store.

Auryane: I can totally see how the Katie sweater could be boxy. Thanks for the sizing on the Frances blouse. I ordered a size 0 in the blouse, but maybe I will need a size 2. It is so hard to tell with some of these items. :)

PixelGirl: I always wear a nude or white cami top underneath the emily shirts. The length of my cami tops fall slightly above the length of the Emily shirt so it looks okay. But I totally understand how difficult it is to pair something with a sheer blouse! :)

Anonymous at 4:15PM: If your item is on backorder and goes on sale, customer service should give you the price adjustment. You can claim a price adjustment up to the moment the item is shipped. You should call them right now to get your rightful credit! :) Good luck!

P.S. I have called about credits on further reduced sale items all the time and the customer reps at J.Crew have always been accomodating. I am sure you will have no issues as well.

    ReplyDelete
  19. ccbmum: You are so lucky you can pull of skinny jeans! :) (I wish I could wear skinny jeans, but they just don't look good on me.)

I swear the "geranium" is the type of color that either looks fantastic on someone or not good at all. unfortunately, I was in the group that it didn't look good on.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Printed silk twill boatneck top: I should add that this blouse is hard to get out of as anonymous said! The blouse works on me because I am very small in the chest area though...but it is hard to move in even for me! But I just love the Sand print...

thanks alexis for the info on the price adj. for backordered items...

    ReplyDelete
  21. alexis: Yes, I got jipped in the bust area but being able to wear skinny jeans makes up for it ;).

I am still worried about geranium but yet hopeful. I'm just glad that I got one before they ran out so I can see how it works on me...

    ReplyDelete
  22. ccbmum- you too have trouble getting in and out of the boatneck! If both you and "Anonymous at 3:41PM" have difficulty getting the top off than it makes me think that I should probably hold off purchasing it.

By the way, I think the "sand" version is so very pretty. I love the scarf I have in that print and thought the top would be just as lovely.

  23. I just went to my local j.crew and I think I tried on just about everything I found on sale in my size. It was great fun! I ended up with a bunch of things and would love the chance to share:

Frances Blouse: I got this in both cherry blossom and aqua. Love them both. The aqua is a little sheer but I would have to wear a cami underneath anyway because it's a little low cut on me. (I'm super petite).

Katie sweater: I got this in the navy, and ivory stripe and lemon stripe. At those prices, I couldn't resist. I love the way the jackets look and fit. Very cute.

Waverly jacket: I got this in ivory. The fit and fabric is great. Love this.

San Telmo jacket: Black twill. This is a great jacket too. Boxy and cute.

Carmen tank: I got this in white and the coral. Cute. Boxy.

Embroidered linen tunic: I have this in navy. I'm actually wearing it as a dress since I'm petite, the length is perfect.

Corinne sweater jacket: I got both in yellow and navy. The jacket is really cute, nice fabric. But beware: the yellow is bright, in case you're concerned.

Printed beach tunic in fuschia: love, love this shirt. I was surprised by how much I like this shirt. I'm going to wear this one alot. The print is very bohemian chic.

Slub-cotton knot cami in orange and teal: loose and very cute. Colors are very vibrant and pretty.

Wellies in navy w/dalmations: these are so cute and comfortable. I regret not getting it in every other color, too!

Cashmere lila cardigan: beautiful! love this!

Cashmere shawl shrunken cardigan: love this, too! fabric is soft, fits great.

There were lots of other things I tried on and/or bought but I don't want to go on too long. If anyone has any questions about anything they've seen online, chances are, I've seen it, tried it on, or bought it, so feel free to ask! I'd be more than happy to give any insights!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I have the Emily blouse in white, navy, yellow bunny, and a dusty pink print. The white is sheer so I have to wear a cami underneath. But the others look ok alone.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Does the Katie Sweater Jacket run true to size?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous at 5:39PM: all I can say about your entire purcahse & review- AWESOME! :)

FabulousFloridaMommy: When I tried on the Katie sweater, it felt like it was true to size. I normally buy an XS in tops and the XS sweater was the one that looked best. Although I should say that the Katie sweater isn't tight fitting (or at least I don't think it is suppose to be). :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have an XS in the navy and both stripes, and I've noticed that the ivory stripe is the most fitted, while the other two are looser. I can't say for certain whether this holds true for all of them though-maybe it was just mine.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I hope they have some more Emily blouses tomorrow morning! As far as having the white version, if you think a nude bra or cami looks kooky I would try a brightly colored one instead. A nice hot pink or vivid blue would look good under a sheer white blouse. Very summery!

    ReplyDelete
  29. BTW, I got the Bright Azalea mocs (love pink & red shoes) and they are on backorder. Those are the shoes that they gave me the 20% off on and I was not expecting it at all.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have the katie jacket in navy stripe and it's definitely worth the reduced sale price -- I got it when it was on sale for much more than that but I can't complain! I have it in xs and it is a good fit. love the weight, the ruffles, the buttons, everything.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have the Katie jacket in both navy stripe and geranium. I ordered the stripe after seeing it on the Today show and the geranium a few weeks ago. I really love the style, and the geranium color works well for me. Not too bright for my coloring & great with dark jeans. Yesterday morning I ordered the Candace jacket in orange - which I am hoping is not neon! Anyone know about the "sweet orange" color?? Among some other things, I also ordered the jeweled posy capri sandals in "sweet marmalade". Those don't appear to have sold that well but they look adorable! Does anyone have them? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I have a fashioning question. My mom sent me some Overdyed Matchstick Capris today in Poppy (I think, it's the bright pinky-orangey color), item #92142. They fit perfectly but I'm trying to figure out what to wear with them. Does anyone have these? Love or hate them? I can't decide.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I recently ordered and received the ruffled pique dress in black and absolutely love it. I'm normally a size 2 and I ordered an XS and it fits great. It looks pretty short on me so I probably won't feel comfortable wearing it with heels but it will be fine with flip-flops. It doesn't seem to be flying off the shelves so it might be a good idea to wait a bit and see if it gets marked down even more. I'm not sure that it's worth the price plus shipping. Overall, it's a cute summertime dress.

    ReplyDelete
  34. shoppinginseattle-- I'd like to know how that Candace jacket works for you! I am eyeing that in orange or the brilliant blue, but want to hear some feedback first. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anonymous at 6:59PM: I think the fitting of the Katie Sweater jacket is so bizarre. I found the geranium fitted me worse than the navy. So when I read your comment, it only confirmed what I thought. Weird sizing.

Marisa: I think you will definitely see more Emily blouses (which I love) tomorrow morning! :) Also, great find with Azalea mocs. I loved the color and think shoes & accessories are great places for a pop of color. As for the capris, a white t-shirt or cami would look fantastic with it. :)

Shoppinginseattle: Please let me know about the jeweled posy capri sandals in "sweet marmalade" once you get them. I have been eyeing those for awhile myself! :)

Anonymous at 9:48 PM: Thanks for the review on the dress and suggesting to wait (to see if the price lowers.) It looks like a really nice dress, and if I can get it for less then even better! :)

  36. As of now, the NJN-160 still works for free shipping for ordres over $100

    ReplyDelete
  37. ShoppinginSeattle:

I've seen the Candace jacket in jacket and it's definitely not a neon orange. It's very pretty, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

What is really neon orange is the embroidered linen tunic! It looks nice on the model in the catalog but not nearly as good in person or on!

  38. Without having to figure out who had asked the question about getting a 20% discount on wait-listed item, I just called J Crew to find out if I could get a 20% discount on the Candance jacket in Blue - it ships mid July, and was told by the "guy" on the other end that I would not get the discount. I asked him if he would make and exception and he essentially said no. He would give me the discount on the colors currently in stock but not the waitlisted item. That said, I know that a couple of days ago, the very nice lady I spoke with at J Crew offered me the discount on a few waitlisted items. I guess it all depends on who you get on the phone. You'd think that they would just go ahead and honor it. Afterall, if they don't, they'd lose the sale. Needless to say, I did not buy the jacket. :(

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi Alexis! I tried the NJN-160 this morning (without actually purchasing) and it still worked (6/13/08).

Anonymous: you should call back regarding the waitlisted item...speak to a manager if you have to...there is no reason you should not get the sale price since it is there fault you are on waitlist to begin with. You would be purchasing it now if it was available, and that is the price you should be paying, regardless of when they choose to ship it out.

Thanks to all who gave sizing info on the Katie Sweater Jacket! :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hi Stephanie & FabulousFloridaMommy: Thank you so much for letting us know that NJN-160 still works! (It is the best code out there right now, so with the sale, this is great!) :)

Anonymous at 1:04AM: I have to agree with FabulousFloridamommy in that you should call back and try again to get the credit you deserve. Perhaps the person you spoke to didn't know that they can make a price adjustment for waitlisted items. Good luck! :)

  41. Good morning everyone! I got up early to try for one of the small amagansett totes in Luau - it has been appearing on the sale page but I have yet to successfully get one in my cart! I keep calling J. Crew too but have been unable to find one. If anyone sees one in a store in this color please let me know - I'm Martha in Virginia. I would call my local store but it has been closed for the past 6 weeks for remoldeling :(.

I have also tried the registration process for this blog and still can't log on!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi Martha in Virginia! I will keep an eye out for that tote when I visit my local stores.

Have you tried FabulousFloridaMommy's tip of putting the item number with a letter in the alphabet (or ST) in J.Crew's item search? Sometimes you can find a product that way when it isn't listed in their regular links. :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Martha in Virginia: I wanted to let you know that you are not the only one with difficulty signing on to Blogger. Blogger can be a real pain about registering/ logging on. That is why I enabled visitors to quickly comment as "anonymous", so they don't have to deal with the hassle of signing up. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hi Alexis! I used the item number from an old cataglogue and did an item search and could not find it. The item number does end with a letter - is that what you're talking about?
    Martha

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi Martha! The item search works best when you have either a letter of the alphabet or "ST" included with the item number (e.g. 90304A, or 90304ST). I suggest running through the alphabet to see if what comes up as available.

    Right now, I have found that R, S, and ST are the best to attach behind the item numbers. { I think knowing this qualifies me as a dork, because I went through the alphabet to figure it out! :O) }

I hope this works for you and you can get the tote. :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Alexis,
I had tried the letter u b/c that is the letter they used in the March Catalogue where it appeared -but I tried the ones you suggested and st works - just not the color I wanted. I wonder if it really is sold out . .. I hate it when I fall in love with something that is already gone! Thanks for the info.
    :)Martha

    ReplyDelete
  47. Martha: Sorry to hear that it wasn't available right now. I totally know the feeling of wanting something from J.Crew and just not finding it in your size/color. :(

But on a bright note, I have notice J.Crew brings back a lot of items into their sale (even things from a year ago that I thought I wouldn't see again.) So I am almost 100% sure you will find your tote! :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. In case anyone is still wondering about the Chessy jacket, I tried it on yesterday and it is very, very boxy! Still, it is cute and I liked it but didn't love it, at least not at the current price tag. I'll probably feel differently once it gets marked a bit more!

    ReplyDelete
  49. A couple of years ago, I read a newspaper article about retailers tailoring their online websites to the click histories of the users. I think it would be an interesting subject to discuss. We all seem to love a good deal, and I can remember a specific incident where Alexis was discussing the Kingston driving moc and I was sitting there, thinking "What is she talking about?" When she linked to it, I clicked on it and suddenly had two different inventory catalogs - one with many more items that stemmed from Alexis' link and one with a much smaller one that I had initiated myself! It definitely really makes you think.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hi Melanie! I know about the click tailoring situation you described. Amazon is known for doing that (offering lower prices to users with no browsing history at their website).

I am under the impression that J.Crew doesn't have dynamic pricing for its customers like Amazon does.

I just find those links through my google searches. :)

However, I have found (and commented on another post) that J.Crew has some weird links to the same item that pull different information from its database. For clarification, the same item will have some links that will show more sizes/color in-stock than others. That I don't understand at all. :)

  51. This is sort of random but I'm wondering if anyone has tried the Cafe Dot Dylan tank and what the fit is like. It reappears now and then in the sale section always for 69.99. I recently got the Joelle cami in 2 and found it rather loose (and thin, though pretty style, not sure it warrants 59.99!), I wonder if the Cafe Dot tank is similar in fit. Many thanks!

PS for folks who are wondering, I was so happy to get the joelle cami in warm citron but the color is more 'blah' than the gorgeous photograph which looks all buttery and pale golden. In person it almost has a 'green' tinge it seems. I was disappointed. Don't let this put you off though, it could just be my skin tone, yellow in general is a tough one! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Alexis and Melanie, speaking of different information, I was always wondering how you find items on the site. The mocs, for example, I couldn't find on the site in a normal browsing search, but I could when I typed in the item number or when I clicked on the link. Is there a special place you go on the site to find some of the special feature items? (I even tried the "features" link but still no mocs that way.)

  53. I ordered the black ruffle dress in a medium, normally I wear a size 4 and was afraid the small would be to clingy. I wish I had ordered the small, the medium is to big especially underneath the arms. Also I thought the ruffle along the buttons was gong to stand up more.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have the jeweled posy capri sandals in all 3 colors. The marmalade ones (which I wear the most) go perfectly with any fuchsia (or hot pink) tops you may have and I always get tons of compliments on them. Very feminine and summery.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous at 9:49AM: Unfortunately, I haven't tried the top on. But they look very pretty. :)

Marisa: I do either an item search through J.Crew's item search or a google search. I hope this helps a bit. :)

Thanks anonymous at 10:43am for the black ruffle dress review. It is good to know that the dress is true to size.

Anonymous at 11:12AM: I totally buy multiples of shoes I like too! I think it is great that you do too! :O)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I have the pique ruffled dress and I too have found it very frustrating that the ruffle does not stand up along the buttons. Otherwise it is a wonderful summer dress. Very casual. I got it in black and wear it with my black posy capri sandals!! :)

Also, I am glad to know that others have not been able to post under their user name. I am thrilled that we are at least able to post as anonymous...many, many thanks!!

  58. I finally got to try on the Katie Sweater Jacket...LOVED IT, and the Geranium actually looked really good on me(surprised me, too). Like Alexis said, the color was very beautiful in person, but I didn't end up getting it, as I live in Florida, and it is just too heavy to wear here...too bad because it was marked down an extra 25% in the store. :( If the Navy had been available in my size I would have gotten it to wear next Winter, but the Geranium just seems like more of a Spring color to me...not Fall or Winter.

    ReplyDelete
  59. FabulousFloridaMommy: I am sure you can get the Katie jacket in Navy. There seemed to be a lot left in the sale section (and they will probably get more in the future when stores return their stock).

You are so lucky the geranium looked nice on you. It is such a pretty shade. :)

  60. Thank you to fabulousfloridamommy for talking me into calling J Crew back to get the Candace Jacket. I got a lady this time who was very kind to give me the 20% off the waitlisted item. As a result of her generousity, I also got the Candance in the Orange, the Embroidered Linen Tunic top and the Slub Cotton Wrap tank. I'm very excited and cannot wait to get my things. Thank you again for encouraging me to go back and ask for the discount.

I found the Cafe Dylan tank to run on the small side. I thought it was very snug right under the bust. I wear 4's in their camisoles and 6's with anything that has sleeves. I ended up selling mine on Ebay since it was a final sale and just ended up getting the swiss dot versions. I have read in a different blog that they wouldn't recommend this top if you have bigger than a B-cup, which I do not :( Hope that helps!

Alexis, I love this blog and do check it everyday now. Thanks for providing it!

  63. I have a larger chest (38DD) and normally wear a Large top from J.Crew. BUT, I wonder if a medium Katie Jacket will work since it's a looser cut? What do you think?

  64. Nevermind my sizing question....the Katie jacket is already sold out :(

  66. I received the ruffled pique dress yesterday. I normally wear a small in j.crew dresses, but this dress was like a tent on me- especially with my larger chest. It emphasized my hips too much, so I had to return it.

  67. I didn't like the ruffled pique dress. I tried it in black, size small-- I am usually a 6 or an 8. The size small was plenty big for me, but too boxy and short. It falls too far above the knee even though I'm only 5' 4". The neckline also is really closed. I didn't think it was very cute on.

Also on the sale site--I ordered the Lilah dress which was also too shapeless and short for my 5'4" frame. It looks much cuter on the model in the catalog.

  68. I got the silk twill boatneck in yellow print (size 2), and I love it. It's definitely for a specific build, however. I usually wear a 0 on bottom and 2 on top. My shoulders are broader, and my bust is 34A/B. I tried on the 0 in store once, and almost died trying to get out of it. The 2 is a much easier fit. It's not too loose around the waist, so it doesn't look like a tent. Definitely not for bigger busts (C and above). I love wearing mine with the white matchstick jeans in 26S.
