Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

It is time for another coupon code and this time the "thank you!" goes to Anonymous (June 4) at 11:56 AM from the post "Product Review: Capri Sandals" who let us all know about it.

J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $100+ with promo code NJN-160. This offer expires 6/7/08.

This code's minimum of $100+ is better than the $150/175+ minimums. Now if we can only get J.Crew to lower it some more, to like $50... that would be great!

  2. Auryane: Thanks for the really nice comment! I do like the bargains. :)

I am also really happy we have all been sharing coupon codes- especially after the recent fallout with Retailmenot and others.

  4. I just tried the coupon code and I got this message. "We're sorry, we are unable to apply that coupon to your order. " My order was for over $100. I'm confused. Has anyone else tried the code? HELP!

  5. Anonymous at 5:51 PM: That is awful. Unfortunately I have not used the code yet. :(

  6. Anonymous at 5:51 PM: I looked up another coupon site that I refer to for coupons and the users there said they experienced the same issue you did. One user mentioned that the NJN-160 code didn't work the first time when they copied & pasted the code. But it worked the second time when the user typed it in directly. So maybe if you type it in, it will work for you too!

  7. I tested it out both ways (typing and copying/pasting) by putting a $119 dress in my shopping bag and it worked each time...now I'm emptying my cart. :)

  8. Hi Alexis, I had tried both typing and pasting the first time and both times didn't work. But I just tried it again and it worked for me! Yipee!!! I don't know what happened and why it didn't work before. I'm just glad that it's working for me now. Thank you!!!

  9. Hi Anonymous at 6:33 PM: I am glad the coupon worked for you after a couple of tries. :) {Especially considering that code has the lowest minimum amount.}

  10. Thankyou!

I love your blog. I just discovered it from the Jcrew fatwallet thread a few days ago and have visited it daily since. I really wish that Jcrew would give us back the free shipping codes with no minimum purchase. I placed many more orders when I had a free shipping code. I can always rationalize a buy with a FS code!

I'm such a Jcrew addict. My son is only 1, but he already has a fully outfitted Jcrew wardrobe waiting for when he hits 2 and can fit into them.

  11. Anonymous at 7:28 PM: Couldn't agree more about bringing back the no min free shipping codes. I also spent more when I had those coupon codes.

Your son must be supercute with all those J.Crew outfits of his- He is so Lucky! :)

  12. Hi Alexis...think I might have found a way for you to get notified when someone posts on your blog...if you go into your Settings and then into the Comments section...at the bottom is "Comment Notification Email", and if you put your email address, you are supposed to be notified when someone adds a comment. Not sure if you've done this...just know we had talked briefly about it the other night...

  15. Thanks so much for the code! Just added a 3.99 headband to my order of $98, and saved a bundle on shipping!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Anonymous at 11:17 AM: happy to hear you got free shipping! It totally made the cost of the headband worth the purchase. :)

  17. whatever happened to their free shipping codes that had an additional % off? haven't seen those in AGES!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sue.bee: free shipping AND a % off? I don't remember those, (probably because I didn't hit the minimum) but they sound marvelous! I would love to see those come back. :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah, I wish they'd bring them back!

I think there was a minimum purchase required (more often than not) but you'd get 25% off the entire purchase and free shipping!

    I miss them.

  20. Thank you so much for sharing the coupon codes- I was able to get free shipping on my favorite City-fit prima stretch wool pants and my other wardrobe staple: the solid kelly three quarter sleeve blouse. Thanks again and happy shopping!!!! : )

  21. Sue.bee: well maybe they will bring those back since they are losing sales (refer: stock price decline). :)

Anonymous at 10:32PM: Your welcome! This blog is all about sharing. :) And you bought some great deals!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ahh! My total was like $97.98 and that was after adding a few things I didn't really want so I let it go.........free shipping I miss you!

Then I looked at paying for shipping for only the items I really wanted and it was a few cents over the $50 mark which was the next higher level for paying shipping.....I couldln't win......

  23. Thank You! Love saving money. :)

  24. Jagjag2: To state your situation simply: that sucks. I too had something in my cart for $49.99 and decided the $9 shipping fee wasn't worth the purchase. I miss those codes too! {sniffle}

Anonymous at 9:02: I love to save money too! Thanks for the thanks! :)

  25. Hi! Glad I found your site today. I order on-line from J.Crew very frequently, and this year my husband enrolled me in the "J. Crew Collection Shoe of the Month Club", so I get a pair of shoes sent to me around the end of each month for the 2008 calendar year. J.Crew generally sends me coupon codes via e-mail so I will post them on here when I receive them. Here is the latest one I have: Free Shipping on $100 or more of merchandise - AJ-160

  26. THANK YOU Anonymous at 10:38AM! That code is super fantastic! DO you know when it expires?

Also, how is the shoe of the month club?

    ReplyDelete
  27. @ anonymous 10:38

Ooooh, I remember getting an email about the shoe-of-the-month club. I thought about signing up for it, but since I've never bought shoes from JCrew before (other than flip-flops) I decided against it.

What shoes have you received so far and what do you think of the club?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think the code expires on June 7, 2008, so not much time left -- if only I found your site sooner!

The shoe of the month club....I have mixed reviews. I think (not exactly sure since it was a gift) that it was about $2,000 or so to join, so I was expecting some great shoes. You have the option of choosing between either flats or heels or alternating your selection. I chose heels only. Here is a list of what I have received:

1st shoe - Linen peep-toe Maryjanes in yellow

2nd shoe - Martine satin heel in Royal Purple

3rd shoe - Patent leather Maryjane in black*

4th shoe - Liza peeptoe heel in Cherry Blossom

    5th shoe - Lucia heel in yellow/purple

*I returned this heel because I think Patent Leather Maryjanes are ugly, and I was disappointed that I had received 2 of the same style shoe within 3 months of each other. This was very problematic because you are not allowed to return any shoes from the shoe-of-the-month club. Luckily, I was finally able to cajole them into allowing it, and I ended up getting the GORGEOUS Becky jewelled heel in its place.

Overall, the shoe club has been fun...it's nice to receive a surprise box of shoes every month, but the membership was definitely marketed as a more exclusive club, i.e., members would be getting shoes that may not be available to regular customers, or designer selected shoes, etc. That is not really the case. It seems that the most popular shoe, chosen by the marketing team in NY, and priced around $150 is sent. When my husband bought my membership, they told him that he was 1 of only about 150 people who had signed up. I don't know if that is still the case but I would figure that if the membership was a small number, then the shoes would be mainly from the J.Crew Collection line, rather than the everyday ones.

I will let you know what I receive for June!

  29. Would you mind sharing your opinion of the Linen peep-toe Maryjanes? I think they are very cute, but I have a hard time buying shoes online and J.Crew doesn't have an opinion/comments section like other website (i.e. zappos).

    Thanks!

PS Alexis - I really love this site! You do a wonderful job!!

  30. Anonymous at 11:07 AM: thank you so much for sharing with us your experience about the shoe of the month club! If you don't mind, I would like to copy & Paste what you wrote into its own post. I think others are just as curious as I was about it.

Franko: Thanks for the nice comment!
