J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, but not the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The February catalog (click here to view) is up. However, the latest March catalog is not. As mentioned by several JCAs, J.Crew posted several images of the newest catalog over at Pinterest (click here to view).

As for the new arrivals... I am excited! Yes, I said it: EXCITED!!!

Another gingham shirt? Yes. What can I say. The Boy shirt in crinkle gingham (item C4781; $78.00) is a classic for a reason. A good reason. ;)

The Collection Thomas Mason® for J.Crew stacked floral sequins dress (item B9433; $550.00) is stunning. I love both the solid and stripe version. If it was not for the price tag, these beauties would be mine already!

Do mine eyes deceive me? Is that a longer length skirt I see at J.Crew, and not Madewell?!? Why yes, yes it is! The  Pleated midi skirt in stripe (item C0777; $110.00) looks amazing. Love the whole look.

J.Crew is offering an additional 20% off select items and 50% off select sale items with code SHOPPINGTIME. Cardmembers can get an additional 25% off with code CARDSHOP (and using your J.Crew Card). This offer expires February 24, 2015.

There's more! J.Crew is offering free shipping on all orders for today only!

And there's even more! As some of you have noticed, J.Crew added new items to the sale section. So definitely worth checking out to see if the item you were stalking finally got reduced in price.

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. Can't wait to check out the new arrivals! As far as the current promo, I'm wondering if I should go ahead and bite in the merino cotton tunic in the Atlantic blue. I have a rewards card to use, and I'm not sure if there will be a better promo by the time my rewards card expires (or if the price will drop). I've heard good things and it's received great reviews online.

    1. All right, I ordered it, along with the relaxed merino sweater in lemon, as my size only had a few left in stock (other sizes already backordered for March). Love this yellow! Color is finally back!

    2. I didn't like the drape of the merino cotton tunic that much and found the arms to be too tight and awkward (especially with the extended ribbing on the sleeves). I'm hoping the relaxed merino or even the Tilly work out better. I'm in love with the lemon this season too!

  2. I know this is not brand new, but can anyone ID this skirt from Drunk J.Crew? It's not the Collection snake maxi skirt -- this one is pleated. Thanks. http://36.media.tumblr.com/20dcd9c9f048550a71b03f8d3300f1dd/tumblr_nj3rakWYDc1u1vp1qo1_1280.jpg

    1. Might not be a J.Crew piece as it says it's model's own piece here :/

  3. I ordered the Gizeh Birks since I've bern wanting them for awhile and thought it was unusual (but great!) that they're eligible for the promo!

I'm in love with that yellow swing trench too but it's been excluded :(

    1. Hi Dmitri - Hard for me to accept that it's priced at $200...are all leather Gizeh priced like that? It's my favorite style, too!

      Delete
    2. JSR, it looks like the Gizeh Birks are $94 on Zappos? Maybe they are a slightly different style?

      Delete
    3. JSR - They're usually pretty pricey but Cate found a good deal! I like the J. Crew version though because it's all white. Or maybe I should order from Zappos and cancel the JC order since it won't ship until April anyway :P

    4. I bought a pair of Gizehs from ASOS over the weekend (they were included on the 20% promo!!!) and they're only costing me $70-something, but I noticed that the J.Crew ones are labeled "exquisite Gizeh". I'm not sure what the "exquisite" part means exactly, but apparently they can charge more for those?

      Delete
    5. Dmitri, I also ordered these, and I hope I love them. I have an old pair of Gizeh sandals, and they're great. My only hesitation is the name of the colour - I'm unsure of what "pearl white" will be - I hope it's a pure white - fingers crossed.

Re. pricing, there are several different price points for Birkenstocks. For "regular retail", usually those under $100 are "Flor" uppers - which is their synthetic-leather. $130 is the usual price for leather uppers (suede too, I believe), and the Exquisite line is usually in the $200+ range. My understanding with regard to the Exquisite line is that difference is a smoother leather upper and a leather lined footbed (the others have the unlined cork), but my knowledge is limited.

I also recommend the James Perse LE Birks which were temporarily marked down over the holidays, and I snagged a pair. They're the Arizona style, colour blocked in black-grey, and I love them!!

    6. @R - thanks for the info! I figured $157 wasn't *that* bad for these Gizehs. Hopefully they'll work out well for the both of us :)

  4. The Ryder pant in reg sizes is excluded from promo, but in tall sizes it is not. annoying.

    1. very frustrating about the Ryders! I tried them in store and they're a full length pant on me (I'm 5'8") so the talls aren't even an option. I think that was the case with the Marties too.

    2. Julie, I just placed an order for the Ryder pant in petite and got the 25% off,.

  5. I stopped in the store yesterday as they were putting the new rollout on the floor. This is the first time in months I've had a dressing room full of try ons and found more than one thing that I liked. The store was in a bit of disarray, so I'll definitely need to go for another round.

I posted photos of my try-ons, including the eyelet panel sweater, sequin sleeve sweater, stripe and metallic voile midi (love the stripe!), stripe tweed drop waist dress (love!) and chiffon t shirt dress on my blog here

I'm excited to see a promo today, I will be ordering the stripe tweed dress and I think the midi skirt as well...even though it may be sitting in my closet for a few months! I saw and really liked the swing trench in navy with the red hood lining. I also want to try a few of the suiting dresses (love the new pinot noir color but...not for spring) as well as the double faced eyelet suiting dress. The shoes are a bit of a snooze fest and I'm not immediately loving any jewelry but I'll have to look a little closer. I would have liked to see a few more prints as the blown out florals really don't count as "prints" to me, but for a first look at spring, overall I'm pleased.

    1. Liked the try-ons on your blog! So glad to finally see a midi skirt from JC. How was the material on the Ryder pant? It is more dressy or is it a pant you could wear with casual flat or sneakers?

      Delete
    2. Thank you for the great reviews! I love the Sequin Floral Sweater you tried on but boo on all the poly skirts. Overall I think the pastels, yellows, and florals in this rollout put me in the mood for spring :)

      Delete
    3. @Julie Taylor thank you!! The Ryder material is similar to the twill Minnies but I'd say less cotton and more stretch (I think they're a cotton/viscose blend) I liked the weave on them better than the Minnies - a little more forgiving I think. So while I could wear them to work, they're not suiting pants by any means but you could definitely pair them casually for the weekend as well like you can the Minnies. HTH! Hoping I can get better pics once I have them at home :)

    4. @Dmitri thanks for checking it out! I want to see the grey/lavender sequin sweater in person. I admit, the polyester is disappointing but I am loving all of the pastel hues!

    5. The tweed drop waist dress looks fantastic on you! How would you describe the fabric - is it pretty heavyweight or on the lighter side?

  6. OT: Big thanks to Gigi, again, for posting the style guide. I'm stuck inside, again, and who knows when I'll get my paper copy. I really like the styling on quite a few of the pages. Very tempted by today's promo.

    1. Hi Cate...I'm not girly-girl in my choices as well....I can't wait to see the clothes in person. It's hard to see online...

    2. I'm getting pretty good at telling online whether something is going to work for me. If the shoulders are set at a normal spot, that's always a good sign for me, and I saw some like that. There are a couple of wide/cropped tops that I wouldn't bother with (cute, but not on me). I guess I'm thinking mostly about the tops and dresses with my comment. I have no interest in the pants. The Martie pants, although I haven't tried them on, will definitely be a disaster on me. I don't want poly pants either, so I've ruled out some for that reason. The jewelry is very feminine this time, candy colors, spring-y, flowery. Not my style, but I like its cheerfulness.

  8. I adore the colors of this rollout! I ordered the midi skirt in rustic mint and the hello tee with my cardmember discount. I couldn't resist. I'm SO excited about the skirt—I've been looking for a good midi skirt for quite some time.

  9. Placed an order this am with the promo. I don't have time to visit the stores this week and free shipping today is good. Flounce Tank Top, Lace Applique Tank Top, Boy Shirt in Jet-Set Geo, Downing Bucket Bag in Rustic Mint and the Ryder Pant (fingers crossed they work) in Petite.

  10. Just a note on the Mixed Stitch sweater, I was planning on ordering in Warm Boulder based on the color in the style guide on page 25 but online it is much darker and I already have a J Crew cotton sweater in that color from many years ago. A disappointment.

    ReplyDelete
  11. As Gigi pointed out in her post yesterday, still an awful lot of poly. I just cannot buy it. I do like a few things in this rollout. Some of them are wish list because I honestly don't need them. That's one of the problems i have with J. Crew, a lot is repeated every season and unless I need to replace something worn out, I don't need to buy it again.

I may have to bite on the pleated a-line suiting dress though. I think that will be great on its own in the summer, and I could layer a shirt or turtleneck under it in cooler weather. I really hope it has pockets. That would make it perfect.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I can't do poly, either. The Collection Lace Circle Skirt is so pretty, but at $250 for polyester, it doesn't even make it onto my wishlist, let alone my cart or my closet. I like the Punched Out Eyelet Midi skirt, but the pleats look like they could be problematic (say that 10 times fast).

      Not really wowed by anything.

  12. Thought I'd order the Overblown Floral Indigo Shirt, so got some measurements, but I don't understand the sizing.
    Size 0: chest - 41.25", shoulder - 13.5"
For comparison The Gingham Boy Shirt
    Size 0: chest - 37", shoulder - 14.25"
Anyone know why the shoulders would be so narrow and the chest so voluminous?
Seems like it would be an odd fit. I got measurements for a few other sizes, and it was the same issue.

    1. I like the color and print on this shirt but if you look at the side view online it looks huge through the body. I guess you'll just have to try it on and see...

    2. Oh, you're right. It does look huge. Thanks for pointing that out.

  13. Sneaky JC took off the Harlow pant and broken in chino pant. I had in my shopping cart, less than an hour later they are both "sold out," even though not low stock in any size or color prior. Harlow was $69.99 before discount! Anyone else have this happen? Lots to love in this rollout though. Enjoying the snow day shopping.

    Replies
    1. I would take a screen shot of the "sold out" and then when they inevitably pop back in ever size and color as soon as the promotion is over, I would send the screen shot to CS and ask (demand) that they honor the promotion.

      Delete
    2. Great advice, blakemdjohns! I am going to do that. I've been wanting to try these Harlow pants. Anyone have a good review for when they inevitably come back to the website?

    3. This has happened to me a few times before and it's so annoying! I bet if you look tonight after midnight they will be back in stock. I called one time and talked to CS about an item and she said it was because of their "dynamic" inventory. The item was available in every size and then an hour later it's completely sold out? Doesn't make sense...

    4. I reviewed them and have pics on my IG @inawonderland5.
You just have to go down a few posts(maybe for the last two weeks) and then you find it and also some outfit combos with them.
      HTH

      Delete
    5. Thank you, Ina Mack! They look great on you. I follow your reviews, and can gauge fit for me from your size choices. I will definitely try a size down from my regular pant size.

    6. I just heard from a VPS. Said they were sorry, Harlow sold out and couldn't locate my size in stores. Really? I emailed this morning when they disappeared. How interesting.....

    7. Bridgetabcs, did you see that the Harlow pants are back in all sizes again? Hurry and get them before they "sell out" ;)

  15. Well, this rollout is a mix of good and bad IMO.

    The good:

    swing trench
    adire shorts
    Thomas Mason sequin dress
    cuffed chambray pants
    the bright yellow throughout collection

    The bad:

    Collins loafers (atrocious and frumpy)
    all the poly
    all the zippers
    floppy maxi dresses
    tiger lily print

This shoe rollout is truly grim. Perhaps their design muse was an assistant manager of the Skechers in some exurban mall?

    1. Cousy...so true about the shoes. I am not impressed with the shoe offerings. Something must've changed in that department (former shoe designers leaving??)

      Delete
    2. Love the Cuffed Chambray pants too. It's too bad it's not offered in Tall. As for the tiger lily print, why so expensive? The cotton sateen shorts, with a 2.5" inseam, are $188 and the silk top is $425. Yikes! Come on now, J.Crew silk is not worth $425.

  16. I was SO excited about the Fall '15 collection yesterday ... color, tailoring, specialness, flattering styling! - that today's rollout didn't quite hit that high of a bar for me, but I do like some things!

Already ordered a couple items in Rustic Mint - it's a gorgeous color and looks very fresh, especially paired with grays and tans. I tried on the Swing Trench, and it will be fabulous on some JCAs but adds a little too much volume for me. There is an overabundance of poly but I'm getting used to it, as it doesn't seem to be going away in the places I shop, even at higher price points :(

    1. aye- I just went back and got the geo dress (I think that will sell fast....normally I'd gamble...but not sure if I should...) the gingham shirt in blue (since mine ripped a hole and I sewed it amateur style..) the hello t- (cause it's cute...but I probably could have gambled that one too) and the oversize boy shirt in polka dot to wear with an old 'crew pencil skirt in yellow and another one in white ;)

      Delete
    2. FAF, I will be curious what you think of the boy shirt in Polka Dot. I bought it a couple of weeks ago, they had it in my store. I liked the fit, I took my normal size in boy shirts, so not sure why they say oversized. But what I am still on the fence about is, it is pretty see thru and I don't like the wearing a camisole under look on me.

      Delete
    3. I loved that shirt but passed because of the transparency. I don't want to be bothered w a cami.

      Delete
  18. OT, but have any JCAs visiting the stores seen the opulent rose necklace anywhere? It just came to my attention and would love to get my hands on one! I see it available on ebay, but I would prefer to not support resellers there... TIA!

  19. I excitedly clicked on the maxi skirts only to find they have elastic waists. UGH! That just says cheap and lazy on the Crew's part.

  20. I would bet my local Goodwill has a fine selection of Lacoste shirts for less that $100...Are these supposed to be different in some way?

  23. I did return the Polka Dot Boy Shirt and exchanged for the Geo Print. Love this shirt, it seemed like a more slimmer fit to me. This one did not have the see-thru issue and I think the print is stunning. I noticed that in the copy they say "Now with a center-back seam (so it'll fit you better)" and I saw that the Gingham ones had that but this one does not. It was a quick exchange but did see some of the other items I had ordered online not sure how they will work out but since that order has not shipped yet I won't know for a while.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I did reach out to CS since the Polka Dot shirt had the same back seam copy. Here is what they said...

"I've confirmed that there isn't a back seam, except for the one that goes across the shoulders. The shirt you purchased is correct. Thank you for letting me know about this - I'll have the Web Team informed so that this can be corrected as soon as possible. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with."

  24. I haven't been this excited in a roll out in over a year - maybe two! I got $600 with of merchandise today and order a lot of items on line. Whoops! I'll need to sell some of my older stuff to justify!

My husband was iffy on the mid-skirt. He's all about that pencil skirt - which are absent.

  26. I stopped by a store yesterday on a whim and bought the striped midi skirt. I love the longer length for work. I saw the pink gingham shirt online today and will be ordering that, the pretty feminine color will contrast nicely with my navy and olive bottoms. I also like the crafter drop earrings, neon yellow is still going strong this year and is a color I love. Looking forward to wearing these and my other purchases from elsewhere as soon as it warms up enough.
