Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'm going to a Crewlet to make a return. That will be about it. I did try on a few things the other day at a retail store. I left with nothing and I didn't put anything on my mental wishlist or on my online wishlist. I enjoyed seeing my vps, though.

    1. Here's a guest review of the metallic pleated midi skirt. Thanks again, Flower Power :)

    2. Gigi, if you see the Factory Hooded Nylon Jacket, I'd love a quick instagram pic or review! Wondering if it is a good spring rain jacket or flimsy and plasticky. And how neon the pink version is.

    3. Alyssa - Hi. I didn't notice the factory nylon hooded jacket. I'll look for it next time I go to the store.

  3. I went yesterday and made a return. Tried on the Drawstring Foulard pant and the Midi skirt in stripe. Happy with the quality and construction of these, and will purchase it in petite and on sale!
I did see a dress that's not on the latest roll-out. Sleeveless laser cut dress with scallop detailing on the neck and arm holes. In color navy..

  4. Yes. Doing some returns from New Arrivals. The Flounce tank and Lace appliqué tank top all ran large, so may try on a smaller size or just return.

    1. i had to size down in the lace applique tank too.

    2. Thanks Ina. I did not try on the smaller size, decided I would wait to see if it gets further reduced and then try. Did you find the armholes rather large? I really hate that look and had the same issue with the Flounce Tank. Did pick up the Cotton Cable Sweater in Navy from the sale section, was XXS which I felt was a good fit for me. Definitely ran large which is what the reviews are saying online.

    3. @JRSconifer I had the same problem with the armholes in my regular xs. Sizing down to a xxs fixed the problems with the armholes. HTH

  6. Stopped by Sherway to try on a couple of things. Not much in the sale room (extra 40%) other than puffer coats and vests (it's just too cold here for vests), a few t-shirts, the grosgrain ribbon tops, and an assortment of one-off skirts and dresses. Did pick up the metallic floral sailor tee, only $24 after discounts. Tried the metallic voile midi and the laser-cut skirt, both surprising likes along with the jet-set geo dress, but not enough to pay fp. Pretty quiet in there, until our weather finally breaks and we get a hint of spring I think everyone is just done with shopping. The SAs were glad to chat though.

  7. No, but I did pick up a pair of the navy blue curator pants since they're finally on sale with 40% off. Fingers crossed about these since they're final sale -- do any of you have them and like them? I love the look but as always am nervous about the execution.

  8. I scored the Collection Metropolitan calf hair leopard booties for $120 with my teacher discount (originally $450) a few days ago. They're really pretty! Totally not a piece I'd wear every day, but I think they're fun for a night out.

  9. This goes in Reviews, but since that's scrolled down a ways I'll put it here.

Cropped Patio Trouser (#c6222). I almost loved these, if they'd only had belt loops they'd have worked. I tried on my usual J. Crew pants size and the fit wasn't quite right at the waist. I didn't have a size down to try, but I think that would have been too tight - they would have fit, but would have shown bumps and lumps. The length was good on me (I'm 5'4") so I am not sure how these will work for taller ladies. Maybe they are supposed to be shorter than they were on me, but I liked the length as it was on me. I forgot to check the fabric content, but it is stretchy and substantial (not thin, but not heavy or thick). This style is a nice departure from the pants styles we've seen over and over at J. Crew the last year or two. I might try them again in the next size down, since I really liked them, but I think the lack of belt loops will still be a problem.

Printed V-neck Band Sleeve Shell (#C3517) in pale pink multi. This was a surprise love. It is silk, unlike the solid colors in this style which are not. The print is small and subtle.

More love for the Callista Gladiator sandals (#B7892). The pink sand is almost a nude color, not very pink. These are so soft, made in Italy, and the back buckle entry is kind of a pain to do.

    1. Thanks for the reviews?
How is the sizing on the Printed V-neck shell? Any armhole issues? V-neck too low? TIA

    2. I thought the arm openings were just right on me in my usual J. Crew sleeveless top size. The v-neck wasn't too low either.

  10. Thanks for the patio trouser review! I've been waiting for some comments about these. We are same height and might have similar fit issues with JC pants. A can see these being versatile in my wardrobe, so will likely try two sizes after your review.

  13. No JC visits for me this weekend. I tried on the new arrivals I was interested in last week in preparation for future promos and I'm shopping my closet this weekend. I've bought quite a bit this season that is stil NWT and I'm going to work on some outfits for these transitional months.

  14. I used to work at J.Crew and selling a ton of my J.Crew jewelry (and other items) which I've accrued over the years - I hope that some of my pieces go to a new home which appreciate them the way I do, and connect with other J.Crew devotees! Thank you :)

  15. Got the cap sleeve shirt tail blouse in Capri blue online vs in store yesterday. The toronto stores have that top at a whopping 108$ plus tax (another 13%) while online with the sale code it came to about 83 canadian including taxes and shipping and the horrible exchange rate. They would not honour the online price in-store so I went home and purchased it. The stores are dead here in Ontario. Nothing of interest in the sale section and I felt (like the above example) that I was getting ripped of with no deal in store on most items. Jewelry was 25% in store - fyi.

    1. I have not purchased anything at the Vancouver J Crew store unless it was on 50% off sale price. With our dollar and the reg. increase of price Canadian store have it is a wonder they have not done a "Target" yet. I would not be surprised if part of the large lost last year was from Canada and the UK stores opening and doing poorly.

    2. I agree. While I still go to the stores, I won;' buy at full price. They should be willing to honour the online deals in Canada for the odd savvy (read loyal) shopper who is able to dig one up to show them at the register.
I think everyone inCanada has sticker shock. I'm also tired of the product line-up being so pared down here vs the US and online. I'm blown away sometimes by blog reviews of dresses, skirts, shoes, etc that never ever make it to canada. IF they do it will be one out of 4 colours..We are a large enough market with a pretty good economy, Jcrew just isn't playing to that here. The stores are boring with too casual a selection to build up a work or dress wardrobe. It's pretty much weekend wear ,with a few blazers thrown in.

  17. I tried a bunch of stuff: The Harper mules look pretty, but i didnt like them on me. I am short and they really emphasized my shortness.
There was also a new tee in a boyfriend shape that is cotton in the front and a silk-like back (its poly though). i loved it on in the navy, but they also had in blush. It came home with me.
I tried the jumpsuit from the february catalog. it didnt really fit me well in the 0. It was too long and to much fabric. If it would have fit right,i think i might have bought it.Also tried another jumpsuit with spagetti straps in the xxs and i had the same problem that i had with the other jumpsuit.
Also tried the mint and pink pants(not sure of the name). They are TTS and my regular 26 fit fine.
The store had the wedges in the faded adire print and i didnt like them at all. They were too busy in the print and the shape of the wedges is boring.

  18. I did go by the store and they gave me an April style guide. They were shocked they had it so early. I don't have any way to share but I can say that the dry spell continues in my opinion.

    1. Wow - that is really early! Sorry to hear that the next rollout isn't very exciting. I haven't been to a store in so long that I can't remember my last visit. It's been too cold and frankly, not really interested in what I am seeing online. By the time it is warm enough to wear anything new, I'm pretty sure it will be in the final sale clearance section.
