  2. Since sale items don't have 40 or 50% off and are still final sale and I like way too much in the coming March style guide, I will be passing on this promo.

  4. Was super excited to see the promo because I was going to get the new Martie pant in two colors but the pants are excluded… I tried the Martie pant on and found them to be pretty high wasted but thought the fit was overall similar to my old favorite the Minnie.

  5. Took advantage of this promo and reordered the endless shirt in black stripe in petite along with a swimsuit for my daughter.

Lame how the Regent blazer is excluded. I would've purchased it using my rewards.

  6. Should I order the Downtown Field Jacket in olive? I've been wanting one forever and never pulled the trigger. It seems like it never goes on promo or markdown. Thoughts?

    1. I bought that color in the fall and really like it. I felt like I was the last person on earth without the jacket! I was able to get it with a 30% promo, so it does happen. It's fairly lightweight, so if you're in a cold area, you could wait another month or two and see whether there's a promo.

    2. I have this jacket in the olive as well and love it.

    3. Jruby18 - The downtown field wasn't selling back in 2009 or so and got marked down. It's never been marked down since. Of course now they added navy as an option. I bought the navy and black and neither worked for me. The mossy brown is enough.

I've worn mine so many times. It layers over the excursion quilted vest and it will layer under some coats. Depends on how much room you have in the coat sleeves. The downtown field is TTS for me. I wear S.

      Review of the black (2014)
Review of mossy brown (2009) when it first reminded me of Elmer Fudd.

    4. Greetings Jruby18 - Actually, it does! I purchased the Deep Navy and Mossy Brown last year when they were marked down to $128 and qualified for an additional 40% off promotion on sale merchandise. I purchased the Black with that same promotion in store, plus an additional coupon I got in the mail. I guess I really liked this jacket enough to stalk a good promotion! I think it fits TTS, which for me means it is comfortable over t-shirts, blouses, and relatively thick sweaters, but _not_ an Excursion Vest. For that I would have to size up and end up with a jacket that was really a size too big. I do not wear it under other coats. It's a good lighter-weight jacket that cuts the wind due to the substantial fabric that is somewhat stiff. This makes it _not_ slouchy or sloppy looking and I think that is part of the appeal. It is _not_ lined was a decision point for me. Hope this helps in your decision process! Jennifer

    5. JenniferD is right. The downtown field has gone to promo price + promo code. I bought the black for $89.60 in June 2014. It was on promo for $128 for at least a few weeks last summer. It only got *marked down* once and that was in 2009 or 2010. I bought it for about a net $60. They bumped it back up to full price shortly ater that. Hope the addtl details about price help make your decision whether to wait or buy.

    6. Thanks guys! I may try to wait it out to see if I can catch it on promo + 30 or 40%. I really appreciate the info!

    7. Greetings JRuby18 - It's up to you, but if it is something you really want and that you can wear pretty soon, you may want to take advantage of this one. The 30% sitewide tends to occur around the holidays, and maybe some other times during the year where J.Crew cardholders can get 30% off sitewide. I think when this item gets marked down (not FS) or gets on the 40% off list, it's kind of a rare occurrence. Good luck! Jennifer

  9. I needed a new suit so this promo came at a great time. I wish they made a more casual pant in machine-washable fabric in the same cut as the Paley, those are some fabulous pants on me.

    1. I wash my paley pants on the gentle cycle of my front load washer. I hang to dry. Work well..no shrinkage or wrinkling.

    2. Have you tried the Campbell Capri (I order them in the fall length and they are more like a straight pant than a capri pant). They wash well and I think they are more flattering and work appropriate than the Minnie.

  11. Really bummed that I can't use this promo; I have no money to spend! I really want to pick up a new swimsuit piece (or two...I'm hoping they'll restock the striped rash guards). Fingers crossed this promo returns when I can afford to spend some money!
