    3. Same here! I too wish they had enough! I'm tired of seeing that phrase in my inbox!

    4. I guess I can understand why it happens -- it happens with other retailers too, it's just that I place so many more orders with JC that it naturally happens more often. Specifically, it's happened to me with Nordstrom, Anthro, and Gap/BR. Nordstrom and Anthro handle it the same way JC does, but Gap/BR/ON/Piperlime/etc. sends a 10% off everything code for any future online purchase, no exclusions, and stackable. That makes it a lot easier to not to be too disappointed...

  3. Just received the February catalog in the mailbox yesterday. We didn't get mail on Monday due to heavy snow. IMO, you are not missing much. ;)

  4. After being a loyal J Crew customer for 20+ years and spending $1000s of dollars there, I somehow just got dropped from their email list. I even went to the website and signed up again and still no emails. I checked my junk mail and even added them to my safe list. I got dropped from Factory too including Factory First. I need to call CS. Has anyone had this happen before? This is a first for me.

    1. Hi, 312JCgirl. I NEVER get J Crew (or Factory) promotional emails sent to the email address I give them EVERY TIME I make a purchase in store and EVERY TIME I place an online order. They will send the order confirmation to my email address but no matter how many times I sign up for email, I do not get any promo emails. I opened a separate email account (Gmail) and that seems to work. I get Factory and J Crew promotional emails at that address. It is very perplexing, to say the least.

    2. Me neither, never, ever get the e-mails. I had to use another account to get my J Crew promo e-mails.

    3. Not just J.Crew - same thing happens to me with Anthropologie - using two emails in order to get promo mail.

    4. Hi 312JCgirl. The exact same thing happened to me. I have been receiving their emails for a long time and then suddenly I stopped receiving all retail and Factory emails. I also tried signing up again but still no emails from either site. I do receive my order confirmation/shipping info. when I place an order but no promos or regular emails.

    5. Thanks, everyone! Makes me feel better that it's not just me:) I'll have to sign up with another email account:(

    6. Me Too!!! It has been driving me crazy! I have went back and signed up 3 times now on their website! I cannot get back on! I too have been a loyal customer for years.

    7. HA, I can't get OFF their emails! I just want ONE EMAIL and I have unsubscribed so many times....and it won't take...

    8. I still get emails but for some reason they stopped sending me a catalog in the mail. I don't know if it's worth trying to get back on the distribution list since lately I just look through the catalog and pretty much put it in the recycle bin.

  5. more of a whine than a vent - I'm guessing from the price that the "gold charm ring" isn't 14 karat, but is it 10 karat, gold-filled, gold plated? Why not specify? And yet people seem to be buying it. Me, I wouldn't drop $100 for something without knowing what it is.

Also, I don't get the point of the gold ring pendant necklace. The ring is blank.

Showed it to my aunt (via Skype), who even in high school had an active social life, she thought it would look like the wearer was "going steady" with a guy who didn't want anyone to know who he was. And aren't signet rings supposed to have a crest? or Greek letters? or initials? Because who would spend money to get a brass ring engraved?

My thoughts on "fine jewelry" - buy less and buy better. And if the local jeweler is strictly retail, spend some time on Ebay.

  6. OT but for those of you with the elephant parade tee do you think it would look too oversized/sloppy one size up from your normal size?

    1. Greetings - I do. I have this tee and I think it fits TTS. Good luck - Jennifer

    2. I also have the tee - I found I took the larger of my JC sizes in this one as I don't like things too clingy. Going up a size from normal will definitely make it loose, but it depends how you like to wear it. This is not a big boxy tee at all so going larger may not be a huge problem (pun intended).

    3. i also went wit the larger of my jcrew sizes,as i like a slouchy fit.

    4. matt bain - I went with my regular size S, review here. I wouldn't size up, personally, because I know it would look sloppy on me with the regular crewneck. I'm 5'0". If you're taller, you'd probably fill it out more based on height and sizing up might look fine. Hth

  7. Where are the rewards cards for crying out loud.

    1. You know I have the same issue with Pottery Barn rewards it takes over a month and half or longer to receive them, also managed by Comenity Bank. I got so frustrated and called their Billing Dept. I was told by a rep from PB, that if I have not received my physical rewards and I want to place an order either online or in store, that CSR should be able to call and get the reward certificate number information and apply to my order. He was able to see the actual certificate information when I was speaking to him but not allowed to give it to me directly. If you view your J Crew account online you can see when and how much was deducted, so you can at least know how much you should have available. Now I have never tried this since I just found out but if there is something that you really want you should not in theory have to wait. Interested to know if anyone has tried this?

    2. Never underestimate this power of this blog, I say. This morning I got an email with my spring rewards code.

    3. ha, I was thinking the same thing JRS! Got my email this morning and thought it was funny it arrived the day after there had been grumblings here. :)

    4. J.Crew is so awful and stingy with their rewards. Gap gives them out all the time, and from their online site, you have access to the reward codes, so when you are shopping you can use it by redeeming it through your mobile phone.

      Delete
    5. But what is crappy about the Gap rewards / Old Navy bucks is that you can't use them with any other promo code. So that is one way that the J Crew rewards are way better.

      Delete
    6. The gap/old navy rewards and the "bucks" are two different things. The rewards can be used with anything... the "bucks" do have limits (you can't use them with promos)

      Delete
    7. I can always redeem my gap rewards and use a promo code at the same time. They have one box at checkout for promo code and one for rewards. And I like that I can use my gap rewards at their other brands. I just looked up their rewards..I thought it was $10 for every $100 you spend, but now it says $10 for every $200??? That's no better than JC, right? ($25 for every $500). I do like how they link your accounts and it's easy to apply rewards at checkout.

      Delete
    8. Ohhh my bad, I forgot that they do rewards! Ha, I use my card way more for Old Navy (kids) than Gap. The bucks are useless.

  8. There seem to be a lot of new arrivals in the sale section this morning, which was at 2000+ in women's, I guess they are on promo?

  10. annoyed with the pricing inconsistencies. Saw that the laine boots were marked down to $140ish plus the additional 40% off last week, so I located a pair in my local B&M store and went there the next day to try them on for size. Of course the shoes are $190 instore but the SA luckily says she will price match. But lo and behold when she pulls up the website the shoes are back to being full price!!! She wouldn't honor the 40% off in store becuase it was a "promotion" price not a "sale" price. I walked away from those shoes because as cute and comfy as they are, they are not worth almost $200 to me. WTF their pricing strategies are so confusing and ridiculous!
