Thank goodness this higher additional percent off sale is back! Because looking at the sale section was a little sad without it.

Of course, I did purchase a few items that I am now wondering if I should get a price adjustment on... Oh the games we play with my wallet and heart!

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are excited to get? Please share!

  1. Has anyone tried the Quilted Chevron Sweatshirt? No reviews and it's been sitting in the sale section for a while. I live in sweatshirts but of course leary of final sale.

  2. Nothing like 50% off slim shirts and 40% off a cardigan to lure me in. Had there been free shipping it would have been even sweeter! But merino cardigan from $118 to $29 and a shirt from $74 to $23 works.

  3. oh, the games we play indeed! I decided to stop torturing myself over a price adjustment of a grand total of $5 and change. Of course I still have a day or two to reconsider.

    1. Currently getting the run around from CS for Sorel boots that popped back in my size on Monday. Only noticed them a few weeks ago and with winter practically over, strongly considering returning them once they arrive.

    2. What size are they? I'm looking to get another pair of Sorels. I'd buy them off of you.

    3. Size 8. Going to keep them for now. They were further discounted this morning and CS eventually honored the price adjustment.

    4. My size! If you change your mind, pls lmk! I checked online before and there were none. I'll have to keep an eye out for pop backs. I'd been looking but not consistently enough.

    5. If you love Sorels, check out Sierra Trading Post, they have the best deals in Sorels and other brands. IMHO. My ones from J Crew did not make it through a season but mine from STP still going strong 2 years later and I wear them a lot. If you sign up for their emails you get amazing deals.

    6. Thx for the heads up! I have a pair that are probably 5 years old and going strong, but they're the beige ones and I'd like to get a pair of the black ones. I have problems w/my feet getting cold, and these boots are the best.

    7. Well you know after I posted that about STP, I checked and their size selection was low. Not normal for them but maybe because of all the snow in so many regions of the country this winter. But they do carry all the major brands.

    8. Hope you do find them, they are at a great price right now. Will keep you in mind :)

  5. Super excited to see the slouchy merino is included in the 40% off, have been eyeing it for sometime. Picked up a black in xs, debating the olive and gray. Anybody with reviews? Thanks.

    1. I have the slouchy merino in grey - just ordered it in pink...I would describe it to be a relaxed Tippi with full length sleeves. The drop shoulders don't bother me on this one. I sized down, it's still relaxed but not "slouchy" - my guess is if I'd stuck with my regular size I'd get more of the slouchy look but the banded bottom helps it from looking too sloppy. The fit on the merino/cotton tunic is similar minus the banded bottom and I took my regular size in that.

    2. @Anne - would you take your Tippi size in the Slouchy Merino or size down? TIA!

    3. @Dmitri I sized down and still have a bit of room in it. I think my regular size would have been too relaxed

  6. I ordered the slouchy merino sweater in pink aluminum and against my better final sale judgement the Collection wool perforated skirt in warm ivory, so I really hope it works out. At the rate we're going, I figure I have a few more months to wear wool in the Northeast.

    1. Thanks so much for your review ( relaxed Tippi with full length sleeved is a great description). I will definitely pick up the other two colors.

  7. Ordered some Tilly sweaters and cardigans in multiple colors to try out late last night before it was excluded from the new sale promotion. Also the ankle-zip cargo pants and the harlow pants in rustic mint. I'm hoping that the "rustic mint" is close to the color I see online - a very muted, light, grayish-green (on my screen) and not a bright green.

  8. I ordered a swimsuit for my little Crewcut that popped up in her size Tuesday, and CS was able to honor the 40% today. It runs small that I had to reorder a size up.

  9. I see a few cute bathing suits that are marked down. Help on the fit, please! Do they run small?

    1. I have a bunch of j crew suits! I usually go up one size in bikini separates ( usually wear medium, get large) for the one pieces I take my smaller of two dress sizes

      Delete
    2. Are you looking at one piece or two piece suits?

      Delete
    3. @cate I think two pieces...but the one pieces are cute too!! I haven't decided yet.
@alex moller- do you go up in one size in both tops and bottoms? that's what i figured, but just want to make sure. I think I am a M in tops and S in bottoms for VS swim.

    4. Sara Lee, I haven't had much luck with either, but the tankini tops and one-pieces with the molded underwire cups are the hardest for me to find the right fit. I've tried them many times, in various sizes, and they were all a fail. To get the bottom part of the cup to fit right, there isn't much coverage above it. I feel like the suit is sitting way too low on my chest, and it doesn't look right either.

The bandeau suits are nice but aren't that supportive and not great if you're in waves. Nice if you are sitting around or not very active, though. The twisted bandeau tankini top is similar - looks cute, nice fabric, but don't move too much! The bottoms were always easy to fit. I size down in them.

Aside from maybe bikini tops, I think J. Crew suits are hard to wear if you have a chest. I want mine to stay put in swimwear and J. Crew's swimwear makes me feel nervous. It's a shame, too, because their swimwear is really, really cute. I love all the stripes. I've learned not to buy it any more, it's just not a good lifestyle fit for me.

    5. Sara Lee, I have quite a few JC bathing suits - waaaaayyyyy too many if the truth be told - but I love them all. I normally take a size 2 or xs in JC tops, and take an xs in bikini tops. I'm usually a 4 in JC pants and take a small in bikini bottoms. For one pieces, I take a 4 or small. So, I guess my experience is that they're TTS.

    6. Also... my experience with the molded underwire cups is exactly the same as cate's.

    7. Cate's reply is spot on.

My experience is that the bandeau suits are useless if you are doing any sort of water activity. Not only do they slip down, they have removable straps that fall off unless they are sewn on.

I don't wear bikinis so I can't speak to them, but the molded cups definitely do not provide much coverage unless maybe if you are an A cup.

That said, I actually like JC swimwear a lot. I swim almost daily in summer and I really like the one pieces with attached straps: halters, scoop backs, ruched, I have them all and love them all. JC colors and prints are great, and the material is good. The one pieces may run slightly short -- I am 5'2" with a short torso and always wear a size 4, the 2 is too short.

  11. Does anyone know how the Bristol trouser in Italian wool fit. I take size 2 for Maddies and Campbell.... Thanks all

  12. Has anyone tried the Anna eyelet dress?? I've had my eye on this since it was released and now it is already on sale for less than half price ($250 down to $120). Kind of bizarre as it is clearly a spring/summer dress and I haven't seen it at my local stores. Colors are already getting low in stock in my sizes so I ordered in apricot and sand. The sea glass looks beautiful online but I know I just look sickly in that color...
