How sad - the Final Sale is Back...
ReplyDeleteuuuuu, final sale is back. I was about to place an order, but now I will hold...
ReplyDeleteBut it's so absolutely lame that they tout the final sale as if it's some great event considering they have not changed a thing from the previous sale, haven't added new styles nor dropped any prices. All that's changed is that now you can't return the merch. Seriously!!
ReplyDeleteAlexis,
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like fun! Please let us know if what you find. Take pics if you can. :)
That should be "...let us know what you find."
ReplyDeletei'm definitely checking this out! hopefully i'll be able to restrain myself and not go too overboard since my new years resolution is to cut down on shopping for clothes that i don't necessarily need;)
ReplyDeleteAnyone going January 21 (aka the first day of the sample sale)? I don't have class that day and an $80 round-trip train ticket doesn't seem all that ludicrous with the temptation of 70% off...
ReplyDeleteI'm actually a bit afraid to go there. The mobs . . .
ReplyDeleteAnd Alexis, you're making a trip all the way here just to visit the sample sale? Dedication . . . Lol
Oh, you New Yorkers get everything good. *stomps foot*
ReplyDeleteI agree- Final Sale is lame. I'm bummed J. Crew seems to think it's so freaking fabulously fantastic...when it's not. Ugh.
This sounds like so much fun, and I can't wait to hear reports from those who actually get to go! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's only a $25 round trip train ticket from CT, I'll be there the first day!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going the first day! I can't wait to see what they'll have.
ReplyDeleteI plan on "having a doctors appointment" at about 11 a.m. (perfect time to shop and then have lunch!) on the first day and my boyfriend will be cutting class as will my two best friends... we will all be there!!!! And then they can take my stuff home for me when I go back to the office.
ReplyDeleteClothingling doesnt get that crowded... I think this is the one where they only let a certain amount of people in at one time though so going after work means lines outside! Prepare for all weather conditions!
I wonder what the size selection will be since it says "samples only."
ReplyDeleteI plan on going to this ... so excited! We go to visit family in NY every January, so I finally convinced DH to schedule our trip around this sale!!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone been to one of these before? Is it important to go the first day and right when it opens, or do they hold back merch for all the days? I just have no idea what to expect!
I've been to sample sales at this location. They seem to have a lot of stuff the first day. I'm under the impression they don't restock. But that could have only been for that one sample sale. I would think it depends. Should be a great sale!
ReplyDeleteI am very excited as I live in Manhattan and am about 40 city blocks away. I am going to rack up just for the heck of it! OOOOO I hope they have shoes. And if the prices are just that great I'll get a lot and spread the wealth...and deals, among those unable to go.
ReplyDeleteAny ideas what else to do in NYC on the 21st of January? I am taking a vacation day to go to the sample sale and need something to do afterwards. I'm leaving from Boston early in the morning. Any takers? (as long as we wear a different size!)
ReplyDeleteI can not wait, I am so excited. Although I intend to stay within a budget, If need be, I hope to come out of there with someone.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone,
ReplyDeleteI just came back from the first day of the J.Crew sample sale. I waited on line for about an hour. Once I arrived it did not take long before I checked my coat in and headed off to shop. I am a sample sale newbie, so I was excited. I have mixed reviews. The sale was no big deal, besides individuals on line telling me to leave, you definitely patient was a need. I purchase a peachy orange colored silk dress, a skirt and a pink shirt. I am a size 2,there was a very limited selection of those sizes. Overall, It was a good experience. It was worth waiting in the cold.
