J.Crew Factory Stores: Holiday Sale... Up To 60% Off
A big "thanks!" to starla729 who shared with us J.Crew's latest email. J.Crew Factory stores are now having a Holiday Sale with up to 60% off original prices. This sale ends 12/23/08.
I seriously can never shop again. Just got two orders in today, but most of it doesn't fit :-( Including the Maggie jacket and taffeta skirt in pink. Oh well, guess they can't all work out!
I bought a herringbone bella at the outlet (Wrentham, MA) around Thanksgiving. It was originally 178 (a lot for the outlet, IMO), but I got it 40% off, so it ended up being about 80 I think.
starla- I saw on the other thread that you were interested in the dream tie cardi. I have it in snow and LOVE it. Find it TTS, warm, soft. Ive had it for almost a month, and it's pilling a bit around the sleeves, but a pill remover would do the trick. Im very happy with it and considering ordering one in spearming if it goes on sale further. The tie can be left hanging or tied, either way it's cute! : )
kendra, im in the MA area too. which mall are you by? have you seen any deals. im gonna check out the cambridge one tomorrow to do some returns. i wonder if they'll have anything good.
and im glad you like the dream tie cardi b/c i just ordered that last night! :)
OT, but I have recvd two online orders now that have been perfect & JC is really shipping things out quickly; both orders included card from Mickey, but would have preferred a coupon.
I still have not been to either of the J.Crew Factory Stores that opened locally this year. The parking is really horrible even when it's not Holiday season, so I can only imagine how bad it would be now. I don't plan to make my first visit until after the New Year.
Not in love with the outlet stores. The one I go to never has great prices and the quality is not there. I can get better prices and quality from the Jcrew website and stores. In the past I purchased and nothing held up well. The tanks stretched out immediately and the tee shirts look cheap and thin. Not worth the time to go there. Just my two cents.
I'm going to the outlet mall in sevierville, TN (i think that's how you spell it!) today. The really nice SA at the asheville JCrew told me that the JCrew outlet there is actually pretty good, and they have a ton of stuff. They recently moved into this new mall so hopefully, it's good!
Also, this is totally OT, but...
I have a grosgrain bow city tee in dark cloud, size small, that I bought without trying on a few weeks ago, just tried it on now, and the sleeves are too short for my long monkey like arms. Before I return thought I'd offer it up here! It is different from the lighter ivory color, in that instead of having the two pockets at the front, it has a small grograin bow at the left collar instead, and really pretty buttons down the front.
Item #97645
$25 shipped.
I'll be going to the post office tomorrow so it'll get there pretty fast if you get in touch with me today. I'll be away from my computer til this evening but will respond to emails as soon as I get home!
The quality of factory store items are less than normal J Crew stuff, but sometimes they have cute styles that are not available in regular stores. For example, they have longer cotton slub cardigans which I never saw in stores, for $25. A cheaper version (read: thinner cotton) of the Jackie cardigans were on sale this month for $19 plus extra discounts, not too bad.
Just don't expect a store full of regular merchandise for cheap, for the most part this is not the case.
Anon at 9:19, they have herringbone bellas. The gray, and pink colors were $178, plus 60% off, plus 20% off... the black was $159.99, plus the same discounts as above.
Just made my first trip to factory store, meh. I did manage to spend $100 though...got 3 slub tees, very cute. 1 white with orange circle, one yellow, and one navy with sequins '8' on front.
Also got blackwatch plaid Phoebe dress for Christmas Eve, adorable!!!! My best buy was a charcoal dream shawl collar sweater for only $23!!!!
Lots of cheap lookie Jackie cardi knock offs, lots of yoga wear, FActory Bellas, FActory Winter Coats, none too appealing.
I am a big Jcrew outlet shopper. You do have to watch the quality of the clothing but you can find some really good buys. I have found in the past they do carry alot of the year before's merchandise. I have gotten some great deals on those items. I was at the outlets last weekend and I got a pair of jeans for $30.00, 2 sweater vests for $20.00 a piece and a striped agnes coat that was $248.00 for $57.00. They also carry crewcuts. I got my son 2 button up shirts $7.00 for each, a critter pocket tee for $3.00 and 2 sweaters each $9.58. I am heading back the day after xmas to see what I can get.
I agree... I found two collection pieces at the outlet today, from last fall, and I got them each for like 90% off the original price. Also, I got a herringbone bella for $51, not too shabby. But yeah, alot of the stuff at the outlets is crappy you just have to know what to look for!
i was just at the outlet in leesburg, va today and they had a pretty good selection of items. the only problem is, i'm an associate and i couldn't bring myself to buy some of the factory versions of clothes that i've seen in my own B&M! the "bella" is so thin, the jackie's are more like summerweight cotton...i guess if you're just looking for bargains, stop into a factory. but personally, i would recommend waiting for one million promos that will be coming up this winter and buying it from the regular jcrew. it will pay off in the end, when the garments hold better.
Incidentally, the blackwatch plaid Phoebe dress went back today....once I tried it on, the combination of the plaid plus the big ruffly collar was too much, and somewhat juvenile looking. So I swapped it out for blackwatch plaid pants, LOVE them!!!!!

great news! does anyone know if the outlet stores still have herringbone bellas in stock, and if so, how much they are? thanks!

I plan to visit the Clinton & Westbrook, CT stores right after XMas. Hopefully they won't be too picked over and crowded, but it'll be fun anyway!
