Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

Yes, it is that wonderful time again! :) A big "thanks!" goes to Mandy in the "Thanks for the Email J.Crew!" post who let us know that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code AGR-100. This offer expires 8/9/08.

  1. I'm surprised they are even offering another shipping code when they cannot seem to ship what has already been ordered, and if it does ship, it takes forever, anyways. The website is just so "hit or miss" right now when it comes to actually getting the item you purchased. I really wish J.Crew would stop taking money for inventory they don't have, as it takes way too long to get it back from them. Support Services is so overwhelmed and behind, I doubt they see any end in site...so sad...one month and counting. :(

  2. I second that FFM. I'm incredibly sick of calling customer service over three unfilled orders!!

    ReplyDelete
  3. This is one code I won't be using. I have several free express shipping ones they have given me over the wait for two items ordered July 1. With still no shipping to Canada on the radar I guess it will be some time till I get my J.crew fix.

    When will Mickey fix this?

    ReplyDelete
  4. thanks for sharing the code! I'm glad there are so many out there so if any of the new stuff starts to go on backorder, I can order without paying shipping, as that is the deal I made myself - I could ONLY order from the wonky site if things were running out!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Too bad the website is still running way too slow. Forget about it.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Too bad thats way more than I can spend right now! Why cant they do a $75 or $50 dollar code? I spend lots there in a year or month but each order is small... I never spend that much at one time online... If I spend that much its always in a store. Don't ask me why... I dont know.

  7. hey alexis-- have you heard of gilt.com? you should check it out...i think you might enjoy it

    www.gilt.com

this is not spam!! i just thought you might be the type to shop there

    p.s.
oh i forgot you need to be invited first by a current member...so just tell me if you're interested..AGAIN THIS IS NOT SPAM..

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hi Everyone! I have been reading everyone's comments and will definitely comment when I get a chance (right now I am in major "crunch time" with my dissertation as I have a deadline tonight).

Jon- thanks for the Gilt invite. At first, I thought it was SPAM, but I found an interesting article in Forbes about it:
By Invitation Only. I would definitely like to know more about it. Thanks! :)

  9. hi everyone - I have an off topic question. Has anyone gotten a tracking number that has worked since the fiasco of an upgrade? I know I haven't, and I'm just wondering if any one has been able to successfully track things.

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  10. kater: I notice that things are getting better. My orders over the past 1-2 weeks have working tracking orders and I'm receiving my packages close to the turnaround time pre-upgrade. Out of 6 orders, only one showed an invalid tracking number (already delivered to another state)

    ReplyDelete
  11. thanks vivian! The first one I had no tracking number, and it came, and now this one has an invalid one (delivered to chatanooga in 2007). I'm driving myself crazy trying to track it, hoping it will magically turn into a working number!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I placed an order for all new fall stuff Friday morning, and have yet to see any sign it's been shipped.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Kater,
Does this "no tracking #" ordeal by any chance apply to your coveted polka-dot san telmo?" ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  14. la belle helene: I'm that transparent huh? :) yeah, it does. I got a notice saying it shipped, but also received a recycled tracking number. I guess it's time to start stalking my doorman. They are going to get REALLY tired of me this week :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. kater: Although the tracking number was invalid (delivered to Seattle Jan 2008), I did get my package on time. What a pleasant surprise! I placed the order on 7/19, Sat, and received it on Friday, 7/25.

Even orders for Fall stuff placed last Thursday and Friday have shipped, and the tracking numbers are working!

    Good luck with your package!

    ReplyDelete
  16. la belle helene: Good one! If I were Kater, I'd be as transparent. It IS after all, the polka dot san telmo!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I do notice this: The chances of being shortshipped are much higher if the icon for the item is broken or missing from your order.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Vivian: CRAPOLA! the image is broken when I first open the order history page, but if you click on the order, it shows up. And if I just check with the number and my zip code (and don't go into my account) it shows up.

I'm so in limbo with this thing! I should have never tried and ordered, because I just can't be all zen and accept that if it comes it comes, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. Instead, I'm psycho-stalking the order!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Here is my 5 cents:

placed 3 orders last Monday was assured that it is "safe" to do so. All orders are in "released" status but no tracking number: called Friday - were ready to be shipped, called Sunday - were ready to be shipped Monday, called today - none of the items are in stock!!!!
I'm done with them for now, it has been going on for a month - lost orders, incorrect credit card charges, an hour to get someone on the phone. Terrible!

Someone should get this message to the upper management!

Sorry for venting, just so FRUSTRATING!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. kater: Maybe it just means the item is sold out NOW. No surprise there.

I'm referring to items that had broken icons when/right after I placed my order. When you first ordered the jacket, the icon showed under your order, right?

    ReplyDelete
  21. kater and vivian: I tried to go in to check my recent orders 7/18 that I still have NOT received, but the website is down again...is it for you?

    ReplyDelete
  22. FFM: The website is working OK for me. Let me retry it again by relogging in.

    ReplyDelete
  23. vivian: oh - when you order? there was definitely a pic when I placed the order. Thanks for the info!

I went down and told my doorman I was going to bug him all week because of this package...:) Nothing today, but hopefully tomorrow (crosses fingers).

FFM: the website is working for me, but it's going really really really slow...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Working OK. I logged out and logged in, and could access my order history as well as put things in my shopping cart. Maybe it's working now for you too.

    ReplyDelete
  25. kater: I had 4 short-shipped orders dating as far back as 6/29 (Via Vittoria jacket) and as recent as 2 weeks ago (chambray oxford wide leg trousers).

FFM: The website seems pretty fast over here.

    ReplyDelete
  26. vivian and kater: I can see the homepage when I type Jcrew.com in the toolbar, but when I actually click on a section, it immediately switches to the Be Back Soon screen...can they allow some to see it and others not, sort of like rationing and taking turns, in order to not completely bog the website down?

    ReplyDelete
  27. vivian: yikes that is so many! I'm going to be freaking out that my san telmo will go the same way until I actually see it with my own eyes. Time to practice meditation or something...;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. kater: Don't worry. Sounds like the jacket was available when you ordered it! It may just land at your doorstep tomorrow!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. ffm: I have NO idea if they can do that. But I can see things FINE. What browser are you using? I know that at one point a few weeks back, I could view the site on explorer but not on firefox. Right now I'm using firefox and it's working for me.

There is something really wonky still going on though. Remember last friday when la belle helene could put a 12 of the san telmo in her cart, but the rest of us couldn't see that size at all. WEIRD.

it's like the twilight zone of websites

    ReplyDelete
  30. sorry about all the caps...I'm still calming down after my high anxiety trip downstairs to check about packages...:)

    ReplyDelete
  31. FFM: Whoa, that may be it. The website is working great over here. I use Explorer - nothing fancy. It's crazy - if they have to ration website access, then they shouldn't be in business at all.

This reminds me of an order. I was called to order the cha-cha pencil skirt with CS, and she just can't see the item at all. I refreshed and refreshed and it's staring at me (and I could put it in my cart but just couldn't checkout)but CS says there's no such item.

How could there be two versions of the website? It was like an online shopping nightmare...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sorry for the typos and grammatical errors - I got all excited recounting the online shopping nightmare.

CS kept telling me there's no such item. I even went to the Women's scetion and found it under skirts, and yet CS couldn't see the item at all. No skirt, no order - end of story.

    ReplyDelete
  33. kater: I was worried my husband might have put a "parental block" on the J.Crew site so that I CAN'T shop there...GRIN...don't know if that can be done, either. Anyways, I am on Explorer and I can intermittently get on, look at something, and then get kicked off again...completely frustrating and weird.

vivian: where is the icon you were talking about? Both of my orders have UPS recycled numbers and absolutely no way to track them...one is my Navy Kelly Jacket, and the other is my Joelle Blouse in Sweet Papaya...my CC HAS been charged, too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. FFM: The icon I'm referring too is actually the thumbnail pix of each item. It's the second column, right next to the "item #". Can you see the thumbnails for your Kelly jacket and Joelle blouse? I suspect not now, because these items have already sold out. But if you could see them earlier when you placed your order, then that's good news.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Did you call CS? Each time I get shortshipped (i.e., got a shipping confirmation, invalid tracking numbers, CC charged), CS could tell me right away that it was a shortship when I called when the packages didn't arrive after 1 week or so.

If they can't tell you it's shortshipped, then it probably isn't.

Parental block on J.Crew website indeed. Funny!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. ffm: I am cracking up about the "parental block" of jcrew!!!!! My fiance would totally do that to me in a heartbeat!

I really hope your Kelly and Joelle show up! I just don't understand this recycled tracking number thing. Does UPS even have them? Because I don't think they would be ok with something not having a working number. Or is it a completely different carrier?

    ReplyDelete
  37. kater: I called UPS several times about the "recycled" tracking orders because J.Crew's CS would always tell me it's UPS's fault. And guess what - UPS said it's J.Crew's system misaligning with UPS.

    ReplyDelete
  38. vivian: I can and have been able to see the pics on all of my orders...even the one from 6/27...two orders have been shortshipped, but the icons are still there...the latest order that is short shipped actually says Partial Shipped on the two items that AREN'T coming: my Kelly Jacket in Bright Flame, and Joelle Blouse in Regal Purple...second time I ordered them IN STOCK, and second time they didn't ship because they were OUT OF STOCK...SO ridiculous!

    ReplyDelete
  39. so I guess there is absolutely no method to this madness huh? argh. I am not good at playing wait and see...

    ReplyDelete
  40. FFM: Were these orders placed before the upgrade?

I get that "partial ship" and "partially shipped" note for orders that were shortshipped post-upgrade. My pre-upgrade orders that were shortshipped would say "pre-returned" - as if I returned them when I never even received them.

Heck - wish I know how these work. I still don't understand it after four shortshipped orders.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I personally think J.Crew chooses to use recycled numbers because it's cheaper...they already purchased the number, so now they are reusing it...my packages were delivered to Centreville, GA in June of 2007, and are showing no update with my information at all. There is no need to use recycled numbers...numbers are infinite and never need to be repeated...it is done to save a buck or two.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My Mary Janes shortshipped one day and the next day it's in stock again. Go figure! I did receive the second order.

Hope you receive these missing orders soon. I too was frantic and was spending hours on the phone with CS each day. It puts a big dent on the shopping experience.

    ReplyDelete
  43. vivian: the one placed pre-upgrade still shows my Kelly in Bright Flame as OPEN, and the one I placed post-upgrade shows the Kelly and Joelle as Partial Shipped. They also owe me $26 on a return of a defective jackie shell and it is statused as pre-returned...the CS rep says they will "eventually" send me a Gift Card for it...we'll see...I'm watching it. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Personally I've never heard of recyled tracking numbers. I've been shopping online for years and this is the first time I've encountered them - with J.Crew, who else?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I've only ever experienced recycled tracking numbers with J.Crew, and noone else...imagine that...they charge the HIGHEST shipping, but "REUSE" the tracking numbers, which also saves them money. They are making a true fortune with their shipping practices.

    ReplyDelete
  46. FFM: It's too ridiculous for words. I'm sorry you had to go through this. And why can't they issue you a CC refund on the defective blouse? I'm not sure they'll ever send out my $20 gift card.

    ReplyDelete
  47. ffm & vivian: that is so raunchy! I've had the recycled tracking number once before - a long time ago - but now it seems to be running rampant post-upgrade. What a crock. I don't think it's ok to make money off of shipping!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. anon @ 6:05: Feel free to vent! You are definitely NOT alone in your situation...the exact thing has happened to me, and just last week, too. It is definitely poor business practice on their part...I just don't understand why they can't seem to fix this problem.

    ReplyDelete
  49. vivian: off the recent topic, but have you looked at the Polyvore site? There is a group called J.Crew Aficionadas where we are posting the outfits we create...you can see it Here . You should join us...it's fun, theraputic, and highly addictive. :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Anonymous at 6:05PM: No need to apologize about venting, you can always vent here. Your situation sounds awful- to find out your items are out of stock when they were ready to ship is terrible. :(

FabulousFloridaMommy: I can't believe you still have not received your items. :(

    ReplyDelete
  51. FFM: Whoa, that is one fab site! Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely look to it for sartorial tips on how to wear my J.Crew pieces (instead of bugging you continously for them on this blog). I have to figure out how to use it though - hope it's not too difficult.

    ReplyDelete
  52. FFM: Ohhh, it's addictive alright. Now I want to run out and buy more pieces so that I can put together outfits like these for real.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I got an email yesterday that said my item had shipped. I received it over a week ago!

    ReplyDelete
  54. vivian: Polyvore isn't difficult at all...it just takes a little practice to get the hang of it. :) It is so fun to see all the different creations from other members on here. FYI: If you scroll to the bottom of the Group homepage, you can click on each of our icon pics to see each individual members sets. :) Also, if you read the post from yesterday about Polyvore you can see more discussions about it. :) Click Here .

    ReplyDelete
  55. I ordered something the other day from the sale and already got an email that it has been shipped and also received a tracking # that works. Just an FYI.

    ReplyDelete
  56. FFM: I'm now officially member #11 of the polyvore's J.Crew Aficionadas!

    ReplyDelete
  57. YAY VIVIAN!!! Can't wait to see some of your creations! :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Dear J. Crew,
I refuse to buy anything from you until fabulousfloridamommy receives her missing items. Hasn't she been through enough?
    Sincerely,
    laura1, a J Crew Aficionada in solidarity.

    ReplyDelete
  59. laura1: You are so sweet! Thank you for your letter to J.Crew...I really wish they would ship my missing items, too! A month is more than enough time to get them to me, too! It's not like the UPS man doesn't know where my house is, so I know it's not their fault. ;)

    Dear J.Crew:

Please release my Solid Kelly Sweater Jacket in Bright Flame, Size Small and my Joelle Blouse in Regal Purple, Size 2 from the captivity of your warehouse...they have been paid for on two seperate occasions, and have every right to be set free...please let them on the truck! They long for the company of the numerous other J.Crew items that hang in my closet, which have already made the long voyage to my home, and are very happy, since they get worn on a regular day to day basis. You now have a whole new Fall Collection and don't have any further need for them so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE set them free.

Btw...I may have to seriously consider suing you due to the fact that my quality of life has been greatly affected by your website fiasco, I mean upgrade, this past month, and for all the hours I have spent on the phone listening to Erica and then a CS rep who cannot give me any information on their whereabouts, for the daily check of my CC account to see if you have given me my money back, and for instilling in me the fear of ordering from your website...I may be truly traumitized for life by all of this. You are so lucky that I love you as much as I do, or I might not be so forgiving. However, since I am forgiving I am merely putting you in Time Out, and will not be ordering anything online until you can fix what you have broken.

    Yours Truly,
    FabulousFloridaMommy

P.S. Tell Mickey that I'm waiting for him to call me back...I'm home most days, or else he can reach me at the cell phone number I gave you.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Maybe we should all meet in Lynchburg, VA and organize a peaceful rally outside their doors. We can all make placards: "Free our Kelly sweater jackets!!!" "Polka Dot San Telmos for all" "Release My Buttery Twill Trousers"

    ReplyDelete
  61. Laura1, FabulousFloridaMommy, & JCrewbug: Your comments made me smile! I loved the comradeship on this blog!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. jcrewbug: I am there! We need to think up some catchy chants: one two three four, you've made us shop at b&m stores!

Just tell me a date and time. If people would like to fly into dc, we can carpool to lynchburg. My car fits three (plus me)...;)

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think that I have been successful with my negotiations for the release of my striped tie cardigan sweater hostage situation. Still in captivity are my Kelly sweater jacket in navy, a pair of nubuck suede flipflops, favorite fit chinos in british khaki - all from three different orders. Completely MIA are a pair of gray buttery twill trousers, an emily shirt in blue, and favorite fit cropped chinos in navy.

Don't know really why I'm sharing all that. I was just sitting here thinking about it and I can't believe all this mess with our orders. I wish I did live in Lynchburg and could organize a sit-down or something!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Alexis or Jon - My name is Jennifer, and I just started visiting J Crew Aficionada last week. I feel like I have found a support group for my addiction. I have been wanting to join Gilt but not known any members. I could invite you to join Ideeli in exchange. It is the same concept, thought I think smaller in scope.

Also, in response to a coupon code. I think they are way past coupon codes. Drastic steps need to be taken. Like a fall preview sale.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I haven't been around much. We threw a big party this weekend and this is my last week at my current job.

I am right with Kater regarding the Friday orders. I check for a sign of shipment on my fionas constantly. I call everyday. They put me on hold for a long time this morning and talked to someone in the warehouse. I should still expect them to ship out.

Fingers crossed and I hope so......They haven't charged my card yet.

This code is just pointless. I want something better for the headaches.....

    ReplyDelete
  66. Jenn: Do you like Idilli? I am not a huge fan of it. Nothing I want is ever on there. Does anyone else use it successfully?

Alexis: I e-mailed you my take on PSs and feel free to use any or all of it on the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to let anyone interested know that I received my Andrea Jacket in Honey Glaze today and LOVE it!

I sized down and the sleeves are perfect. The shape is adorable and the details make it so special. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to wear it everyday with my "soccer-mom, living in the burbs" life style, but I think it will work out great.

It's not too structured like a typical jacket so it doesn't look too stiff. And at the same time it is drapey and soft enough to look more everyday (but still pulled together).

Thanks to you ladies who made me feel more sure about my purchase after I started having second thoughts!

Also, I did like the Wool Tuesday trench in Navy but it just didn't lay right on me. I would definitely need to do a Petite and didn't want to chance it with the red phone.

Instead, I was able to get the Dream Ruffle Herringbone cardi in charcoal/camel, the hammered silk tank in peacock, some great T's and the Watson pants.

Let me just say, the Watsons are so flattering! I am 5'2 and they even elongate me! I was instantly sold on those as soon as I tried them on!

Sorry for the long post, just excited to share. :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. blumre: I am so interested in the PS info you have to share. I was always aware of the one at my store. He's helped me when I go into the b&m but I am not familiar with how it works through calling in to the CS side.

Alexis: I can't wait to read the post on this info. It may help us all get around the nightmarish web ordering experience.

P.S. good luck on your dissertation!

    ReplyDelete
  69. yeah so if anybody is interested in joining Gilt, send me your e-mail address at my e-mail address which is jon_not_john@yahoo.com

(ok i have an ulterior motive: i get $25 if the person i refer to signs up and buys something from the site. :p)

    ReplyDelete
  70. by the way, right now Gilt is having a sale on J. Mendel, John Varvatos, Ralph Lauren Women's Accessories, Cynthia Steffe, Michael Kors, Jack Spade and they also occasionally have sales for childrenswear as well as home decor

    ReplyDelete
  71. Some prices have been reduced (Joelle camis down to $29, Piper tanks at $39) on the imaginary, not-really-in-stock merchandise!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Blumre - I love the concept of Ideeli, but have only been on for about a month. So far, there have been sunglasses and two handbags in which I was interested. However, I have not upgraded, so the handbags were gone by the time I got on and I was just to nervous about buying sunglasses without trying them on first. However, it is free, and something I love is bound to come up eventually!

Do you go to bagsnob.com? It is a purse blog, much like this one, however they have monthly giveaways on truly amazing bags. Sorry to digress from J. Crew

    ReplyDelete
  73. sally: Congratulations on the Andrea, as well as all of your other fabulous purchases! I would personally love to own all of them (they are on my wish list)...thanks for the info on the Watson pants...I'm not big on cuffed pants, but I will give them a try (if they are available in my store) after reading your comment about them. :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. hey!
anyone order this morning?? I did and the code EXTRA20 still worked...hopefully they wont "fix" that on my order later...
also, I had problems using my JCrew Credit card. anyone else have problems??

    ReplyDelete
  75. it sucks everyone has had such bad experiences lately with jcrew. i have definitely seen a serious decline in ease of ordering online and email response times. on the bright side, i recently sent in 2 huge returns (like $600+ each), and so far have gotten credited for all of it! it did take longer than usual, but i think it's all accurate. they even took back a few final sale items i snuck in there.
i also ordered a few things yesterday, including a flowy jersey dress and silk cami from the sale. i got an email acknowlegding the order about 2 hours later (it used to be immediately), but overall the experience was ok. just wanted to give some hope that it will all work out!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I just checked email and found 3 msgs from JCrew about missing items from 3 different orders. Basically they are telling me that those items are no longer available. After waiting two months and numerous followup calls, the last of which was yesterday where I held out and was on the phone for 43 mins with CS...this is their final response.

What a way to start the day....

On a separate point, I would love the Andrea in a more conservative color.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Got my fall catalog yesterday. Anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  78. molly.porter: Yes, I got my Fall Catalog yesterday, too...however, I had already been able to pick it up at my store last Wednesday, so I was able to get a "sneak peek". ;) I'm glad I got one yesterday, too, as it's always nice to have an extra. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  79. On a seperate topic. Any thoughts on the Jamie bag? I love the colors and the polished leather look. However, this price point seems really high for a J Crew bag. Also, I bought the Owen hobo earlier, in the lighter color to carry for spring/summer. However,it is more putty and will carry me through the fall.

    ReplyDelete
  80. jenn_brak: The Jamie bag looks very similar to a Marc Jacobs bag seen Here and also seen Here . The price point for the Marc Jacobs bag is not that much higher, and was even on sale for less at Neiman Marcus, as shown in the first link. I would personally opt for the Marc Jacobs bag, if it were me. I also used it in one of my Polyvore sets seen Here . Just my 2 cents... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  81. FFM - This will make you laugh, but I literally can not buy Marc Jacobs bags for one simple reason. My husband knows how much they cost! We have friends that we go to Vegas with. One year she bought a MJ bag while we were there. My husband was horrified by the price. Luckily, he does not consider J. Crew a designer brand, so doesn't believe things could be too expensive. I know, boggles the mind.

    ReplyDelete
  82. FFM, I'm glad you liked my letter. I'm serious, too. I'm really not going to buy anything from J Crew until all Aficionadas' items have been set free! :) I admit it's partly because I'm terrified of what might happen, but I also have an affinity for you all and this situation is just not right!

    ReplyDelete
  83. tired memphian: at least we're stalking our orders together!

I just checked mine for the 1764th time, and the tracking number has been updated! I could hardly believe it. It has the right town, and says "out for delivery". I will seriously pee my pants if this thing actually comes!

I'll keep you all posted. I'm refreshing the tracking info every second so I can run down to get if it really does come!

    ReplyDelete
  84. jenn_brak: I can completely relate...guys just don't get it. One of my fave Coach bags that I have put in alot of my Polyvore sets costs $4800. It's the LEGACY OSTRICH MULTI-TURNLOCK SATCHEL
seen Here , Here , and also Here , as well. They actually had a larger one that was about $10,000 last season, but it isn't available on the website anymore. Anyways, when I showed it to my husband he was in shock, and exclaimed..."You've got to be kidding me. Who in the WORLD would pay that much for a handbag?" All the while I'm thinking...well, I would if you'd let me. ;) Bottom line...they just don't get it, and the Jamie Bag is pretty, so go for it if he doesn't mind you buying J.Crew bags. :) Are you considering the Dark Cloud?

    ReplyDelete
  85. OOOO tired memphian that is VERY VERY EXCITING

    ReplyDelete
  86. ooops that last message was for kater and not tired memphian.

So kater I am very excited for you. And I am crossing all of my fingers a for you.

  87. laura1: I'm not purchasing anything from the website for awhile, either...I have been burned too many times, and I am fearful it will happen again. It seems as if the new merchandise is being shipped out fine, but the sale items are still having major issues!

kater: I really, really hope your package does come today...I'm going to recheck my tracking number to see if it got corrected. I'll let you know. :) Keep us posted, btw... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  88. thanks blumre! I can use all the crossed fingers I can get!

today is going to be a day filled with nervous anticipation. A little pathetic that it's about a jacket but whatever...;) at least you guys understand!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Haha FFM: The bf actually has his eye on a coach briefcase or a brooks brother brief case. He actually asked me to take him to JPress (only the preppiest store on the planet) and get pants made for him for his birthday. I don't know what I would do if he objected to my shopping. I love hearing everyone's stories here, you guys are so creative!

Luckily for me (and my wallet) this season Coach bags are truly boring me.

    ReplyDelete
  90. ffm: definitely see if your number got updated! mine still has the old info at the bottom, but at the top is the normal stuff - recent dates and when it left each ups warehouse etc. I was in shock when I saw that!

Hopefully yours has been updated too, and is on its way!

    ReplyDelete
  91. blumre: I completely agree about the Coach bags being boring this season...good for me, too, as I have been spending way too much at J.Crew, and purchasing a Coach bag would put me over the top on my clothing budget. ;) You are indeed lucky to have MMiller...he is a rare breed, indeed. :)

kater: My tracking numbers have not been updated...I will just have to wait and see if UPS comes today...it is also day 7 of the 4-7 business day delivery time...UGH!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  92. blumre: I forgot to mention that we have two Coach Outlet stores here and they are FAB! The bags are Past Season merchandise from the actual Coach stores that get moved to the Outlets, and not "made" just for the outlets...the deals you can get on the authentic Coach bags are PHENOMENAL, too! :) I purchased one of my Large Ergos there last year during the after Thanksgiving Sale and saved $200 from the original Coach Store price...it was so exciting! :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. I know FFM: We have a Coach and tumi outlet store near my parent's weekend home. (its the same deal with tumi). I love both of them! For coach, the outlets are 100% the place to go. I agree with you!

    ReplyDelete
  94. blumre: I wish the J.Crew, BR, and GAP outlets were still the same way! I used to get great deals for my boys at the GAP outlet, but now they tend to make clothing specifically FOR the outlet, instead of transferring the past season stuff. We recently got a J.Crew Factory store, but I haven't gone yet, since most of the comments about the Factory stores were negative ones...I may go this week or next, just to see what they do have, but I haven't been in a big rush like I would have been if it was the Past Season merchandise there.

    ReplyDelete
  95. This is off topic, but is anyone else have trouble keeping items in their cart? I like to keep my cart full and then I can just check it to see if anything has gone on sale or is waitlisted. ugh! I'm tired of filling it up only to find it empty again.

    ReplyDelete
  96. FFM: I have found great deals at the factory store for JCrew. The pea coats tend to be good there... I got one three years ago and the winters up here can be rough. I wear it to work all the time (those are on days when I actually wear a coat, my rule for that is it has to actually be below freezing for me to wear a coat or it must be raining or snowing... we a had a lot of those days this winter).

Some of the cotton sweaters int he outlet pretty much blow. The beach dress fabrics seem to be the same and I actually find the suiting to be a decent quality. ALL and I mean ALL the pants from the outlet SHRINK! So dont buy pants there. For me its a good place to stock up on tee-shirts and other basic stuff. I still maintain the I love the suit I bought there and the pea coat... thinking about another trip this fall to do it again!

    ReplyDelete
  97. math teacher: are the items new stuff or sale? The sale items get removed when they aren't available anymore...

    ReplyDelete
  98. Thanks Blumre! I will definitely go to check it out...especially since I have my Gift Cards, though I am really trying to save them to use on the new merchandise...it's a hard thing to do! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  99. EXTRA20 still works as of 10am on July 29th.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I know FFM I have 219 dollars of free jcrew. I already spent 70 of free jcrew money but 35 of that is being returned (its pretty but too big). But I am going to get the domino skirt for 79.99 +40% +15% off. THATS IN SANE! And I think it could be great for work in the fall with a black sweater or blazer. Great for committee meetings or parent cocktail parties and other more casual fundraising events.

    ReplyDelete
  101. ffm and blumre: I agree with you blumre about the outlets, and think it depends a lot on which one you go to. the one by dc is always cleared out, and only has the shady stuff left. But the one by my parents house in MI can be fantastic. They sometimes have the stuff from last season there, not just the merch made for the outlets, and two falls ago I got a brown tie-front chiffon blouse (remember those?!?), a super cute brown herringbone suit, and a navy blue hacking jacket with gold buttons for a steal. it was one of the best j crew days ever! I also like the outlet's version of the tissue tees, which I pretty much live in.

in short, I think it's hit or miss depending on the store, so ffm, you'll definitely have to see what yours is like!

    ReplyDelete
  102. ffm: most of the items are new, although the few sale items are still in stock when I put them in the cart again. I realize that just because they show as in stock doesn't mean they are, but all the new items???

    ReplyDelete
  103. FFM - Actually - I was going to go with the honey glaze for fun. Love the dark cloud, but just purchased a platinum colored bag from Cole Haan. Two gray bags might be one too many. I stopped buying Coach bags a few years ago as I prefer things slightly below the radar.

Men are funny. They will spend $60 bucks on a cigar or $100 for a bottle of scotch, but those handbags...way too much. I keep explaining the theory of cost per wear to him, but it hasn't sunk in yet.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Kater,
If you do get the polka dot san telmo today - and I am so rooting for you - you should take a picture of you wearing it and post it with your name :-) Can't wait for the update!!

BTW, I placed an order for all new fall merchandise last Friday morning, and it still just shows the order is "open" .... nothing about it being shipped. I guess it's only been about two business days, though, so I'm trying to be patient. Plus, honestly, it's not like I'll be wearing any of the items for a couple of months ...

    ReplyDelete
  105. Also, while the site is working, it is very slow and the front page is green/gray and says "We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try a little later" So I don't know what the problem is.

    ReplyDelete
  106. la belle helene: my order from Sunday is also still showing as open. Of course, it could actually be on its way and this is another site problem. I also haven't received an email about the order, which concerns me.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Also - Don't you all think that the outlets will have a lot more merchandise this fall because of the web-switch fiasco? Their inventory problems will force them to put merchandise in outlet that they would previously have sold online to all of us.

    ReplyDelete
  108. math teacher: that's definitely strange, and I haven't personally had that happen, although yesterday I kept getting "kicked" off the website while Vivian and Kater were able to stay on...it was so strange...the website is definitely still having major issues.

    ReplyDelete
  109. math teacher: I am now having site difficulties. my cart is still there, but everything else gives me that "we are unable to process your request" green screen.

la belle: that is a fab idea about the san telmo if it comes!

    ReplyDelete
  110. blumre: I made a Polyvore set the other day with your skirt in it...it's the pencil skirt, right? My creation is Here . I love that skirt, and you got an awesome deal! :)

    ReplyDelete
  111. OH FFM, I love it! ;) well done. THANKS FOR THE IDEAS

    ReplyDelete
  112. Hey Guys, I need your opinions:

So I would love to get the City Fit Florentine Capris. But they are $98. I think that is too much for them. My PS said they were flying off the shelf! I think this is an item I let go if they don't go on sale right. I mean the other capris are now 29... I could do $50 or $60 for them... but I think nearly $100 is too much, right?

    ReplyDelete
  113. blumre: that is tough...they definitely weren't in my store either when I was there last week. But there seems to be a lot online right? I tend not to allow myself to get things non-sale unless they start to get waitlisted online...

and with your new personal shopper, if they did run out in your size in the store and online when they went on sale (which has to be soon right?), you could always put them on the case...:)

    ReplyDelete
  114. I am still stalking my fionas. I did notice an influx of extra Fionas on EBay last night and this morning. Grrr....I hope the resellers don't get my fionas.

I got an email from J Crew this am and the rep told me that my orders still seem on track. Here's hoping.

I keep seeing the navy Katie online but that appears to be unattainable. Let me see one fiona order ship and I will order the katie.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Hooray, Abby 120s jacket finally went on sale! But, it's not listed on the regular pricce or sale section; I had to do a search by name.

And--EXTRA20 still worked for me this morning! (Tues 7:30 a.m. Pacific)

    ReplyDelete
  116. wow, those florentine capris are tres belle. I think I want those. They look really versatile, like one could wear them with black, white, red, grey...

    ReplyDelete
  117. Good morning Hexicon!
So glad your jacket is finally on sale :-) What color(s) are you getting?

    ReplyDelete
  118. blumre: that is a tough one...I guess it really depends on how bad you really want the capris. Haven't they been non-sale for awhile now? It seems as if they should go on sale soon, especially since capris aren't really shown in the Fall catalog...maybe give it another week or two, since they should be doing another large sale once all the returns come in? Just a thought. ;)

Tired Memphian: Are you looking for the Katie or the Kelly? The Kelly definitely isn't really available...if you try to put more than one in the shopping bag and go to checkout, then only one remains, which means they really don't exist in inventory. The website allows one to stay as available online, but there really isn't any...am I making sense? I have been trying this everyday for the past few, since it showed up again. It's the same with other items as well...if you put two or three of the same in your shopping bag and then try to checkout it will either remove all but one, which means it isn't really there, or else it will leave all of them, which means the odds are in your favor of getting them...at least that's what I perceive to be happening.

    ReplyDelete
  119. FFM, I think if it reduces the stock in your cart back to one, that means they have one available.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Not sure if this has already been talked about in a previous post - I just received my $25 rewards card (and Fall Look Book) in the mail today. Not sure why Ohioans would be a few weeks behind everyone else in actually getting the Look Books, but still glad it arrived. Anyone else getting their rewards cards? If (and when) they finally repost their sale merchandise I'll probably be saving it for that....

    ReplyDelete
  121. anon@10:41: Several of the CS reps I have spoken with have said that when the stock is reduced to one, then the odds are high that it doesn't actually exist in inventory...this happened to me numerous times last week, where they physically checked and even though the website said one available, it really wasn't. I would suggest not ordering if it is down to one.

    ReplyDelete
  122. So, I just checked and my credit finally came through. The strange thing is that I think it's more than it should be. Now what do I do? I have no idea where the amount came from... I hate the thought of being dishonest, but... I also hate the thought of spending more time on hold. ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  123. FFM: I have been trying to order the Katie. I have the perfect BR pants to wear with the navy one. I have the geranium already. It keeps showing up on a search. I think I will wait until I get paid Thursday when I can afford to have some money held up for a little while. Then, I will order it.

I am obsessive over my fiona orders. I check constantly. Yesterday, my husband had a package at the door. I almost fainted while trying to get close enough to see the box and if it had J Crew on the side. Nope. No such luck....

    ReplyDelete
  124. math teacher: How much more? Is it significant or just a little? Maybe they calculated for more percentage off because of recent sales?

    ReplyDelete
  125. tired memphian: The medium navy Katie right? I would definitely wait, as I don't think it's really there. I added 3 to my shopping bag and tried to checkout...2 of them say unavailable and removed, leaving the "ever illusive" one, which in other words means...they don't really exist in inventory. It's the same situation with my Kelly...sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  126. FFM- Not sure that it's always the case. I ordered the paper poplin raincoat in bright azalea, and it showed there was only one available. The tracking says it's out for delivery today :-)

    ReplyDelete
  127. Lynn: my situation may be the exception and not the rule...I hope so, as I would hate others to order assuming that an item is there when it really isn't...I am just going on what the CS reps have told me and also by what I have observed from days of stalking my Kelly in Bright Flame. ;) Good Luck! :)

    ReplyDelete
  128. ffm: it's more than the item originally cost!

    ReplyDelete
  129. blumre: while I try to be a mature adult in control of my obsession, I will tell you that you should wait for them to go on sale. I think the print is beautiful but it's so bold that they aren't something you can wear everyday without anyone realizing it.

At the same time, if it were me and I REALLY wanted it, I know I would cave for fear of it not being available. (I think they will be though.)

FFM: I'm having them take the cuff out as I'm not big on them either. :)

kater: I think you have everyone on this blog routing for you! Let us know as soon as it arrives. I have confidence that it will!

jenn_brak: I too think the Jamie bag is so pretty. However, I wouldn't pay that much for a J crew bag. I would watch for it to go on sale.

Btw, remember the big fall roll out happens in September so we should see alot of the items we are coveting go on sale around then.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Sally: I agree with you. I wanted another pair of cafe capris this year but in the solid colors the 2 looked horrendously tight and the 4 was baggy. The 2 in these actually fit me and looked great. But you are right about the print and the season for is ending quickly. So if they don't go on sale I think I will pass.

    Thanks for the advice ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  131. It looks like those of us who ordered Polka Dot San Telmos on Friday might just be in luck. Initially the tracking number they sent me was invalid on the UPS site, but now it's working and showing that it's scheduled to be delivered today. The funny thing, though, is that it says the package weighs 7 POUNDS! Maybe I have everyone else's missing items too.

    ReplyDelete
  132. math teacher: Are you sure they didn't owe you for anything else? Did they ever charge you double for an item? If it took this long to even get your credit...imagine how long it will take them to fix this screw up, and then what if they still don't do it right? Seems to me that if the amount is that significant then they should realize it and fix it without you having to waste even more of your time to do it...just keep an eye on your CC for them to adjust, and make sure you still get the credit you are due.

    ReplyDelete
  133. math teacher: You could always email them about the situation so you don't have to be on hold forever...just make sure to keep an eye on your Credit Card so that you still get the amount you are due, if they do take back the credit you already received.

    ReplyDelete
  134. code "extra20" worked just now..I went ahead and got the baird linen jacket in navy.

since they screwed up my past orders and have only casually informed me that the items are not available...I wanted a bit of my Jcrew fix this morning...in hindsight..maybe not a good idea given that the website is still not 100%

oh...they promised me a giftcard to make up for the screwups..but I doubt if I will ever see it.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Hey all I lost my polyvore virginity!

http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=2662231 (I am buying the skirt)
http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=2662219 (I would love the vineyard vines bag if i ever goes on sale)

FFM when you post links they always read "here" rather than the full on http://..... How do you get it to do that?

    ReplyDelete
  136. ffm: I had been thinking of emailing them. They've been pretty good about replying to my emails about the credit. They only owe me the one (price adjustment), so I have no idea where the amount came from. I'll give it a couple of days to see if anything else shows up on my cc, and then I'll email.

    ReplyDelete
  137. blumre: Welcome to the Polyvore Obsessed...your sets are super cute! Be sure to join our group seen Here ...that way we can keep checking on each other's combinations without constantly having to post links. :)

Here is the info on how to make the links: Click Here . It's really easy once you get the hang of it. :)

  138. math teacher: I think that sounds like a great plan! :)

  139. I got my sweet Papaya Fiona today. It's really pretty. I ordered it early Friday morning.

    ReplyDelete
  140. congrats mekiki! what a great find and deal! I'm jealous!

    ReplyDelete
  141. mekiki: Congrats...that was quick! I placed my orders the Friday BEFORE last, and STILL have not received them...this sucks! :(

    ReplyDelete
  142. mekiki...WHAT?!!!! Did you have a shipping confirmation or anything?! Did they charge your card ahead of time?

I am so envious that you got your fiona.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I know it's just some jackets, but I really want them :o(

    ReplyDelete
  144. I got a email on Saturday saying it had been shipped. The tracking number didn't work. The J.Crew site said it had been shipped, but the delivery date had passed. I called last night and I think they said it would ship today. It arrived today.

Part II is the Kate dress and Crewcuts kissing critter tee (seahorses, so cute!). They were still showing as open, which was the main reason I called J.Crew last night. The first CS woman I spoke to said the order was pending canceled. She was nice but I asked for a supervisor. Supervisor offered me one of the current (non-sale) colors at 1/2 price, I said no. She spoke to her supervisor, then came back and said they could give it to me at the sale price but not with the 20%discount. I said okay. Then she checked and said she didn't see my order as pending canceled, so she is supposed to call me back today with an answer. I wanted to wear the dress to a party on Saturday. I'm trying to decide if I should call to check the status. I didn't write down the CS woman's name.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I'm glad you got your jacket mekiki but hate it for me that I still don't have a shipping confirmation.

I keep getting told that they don't ship out for Tennessee orders until later because it doesn't take as long. If that is true and I have heard it several times, this is why other people who ordered at the same time are getting their orders and I don't have anything :o(

Fionas are showing up on EBay in both the white and papaya since Monday. I think the EBayers are getting their orders. Frustrating. Where's the karma?

Oh well. I knew it was a big possibility that I wouldn't get any of them, but I wanted to at least try.

    ReplyDelete
  146. TM: what sizes and colors did you order? Mine was 4 in the Papaya. And yes, I live in NJ. That is crazily strange that they would ship yours later because you are closer. The gift card is nice though (you said they would send you one, yes?)

    ReplyDelete
  147. I ordered a 6 in white, a 6 in papaya, and an 8 in almond. All three were separate orders because I didn't want to have them run out before I could hit submit.

I think I am just really disenchanted with JC right now after the CS was so proud of the updates. I went into BR over the weekend and some of their fall stuff is cute. I typically go to JC first when I want to shop but BR is slowly getting away from some of the trendy stuff.

I am very lucky in that I have a local store in a suburb of Memphis. However, it really is small and we don't have as many options in store. The SA's are great and super nice. I just really hate shopping in stores because I have a 13 month old and a 9 year old and I work a lot. Online shopping is perfect.

My hope can be restored if I receive just one fiona (three would be better.........).

    Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  148. tired memphian: I literally sighed out loud for you as I read your post about your hope being restored if at least one fiona makes it to you...:( Keep the faith! I'm so pulling for you!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Thanks kater! I got so many cute shirts and skirts lately for my fionas. And no fionas... I just can't justify spending so much money on EBay for the fionas when they probably ordered them after I did last Friday and have them in their hands and are selling them for so much..... I am bitter but hopeful.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Tired, here's an idea:
Call and tell them (J.Crew customer service) how upset you are, let them know how much you want that Fiona jacket. Cry if you have to. When they ask what they can do for you, tell them you want the fancier Fiona (the white one that IS currently online in a size 6, but for a lot more dough) for the same price. They'll probably say no, but might offer it to you at 1/2 price (like they did with the Kate dress for me). It's a beautiful jacket.

I want you to get a Fiona jacket!

    ReplyDelete
  151. I wonder if/when we will get one of those love 20% off emails for some of the new fall items?

    ReplyDelete
  152. La Belle Helene,
I got the Abby in black to go with the sleeveless dress, so between the jacket for $127 and the dress for $37 I'm pleased. I liked the Azul and almost bought the dress on eBay (after it was sold out online) but I like a really bright royal blue and it sounded like this was more of a subdued blue, closer to cadet than royal. Now I can't buy anything for another month!

    ReplyDelete
  153. Hexicon, have you tried on the abby jacket in person? I'm considering picking it up as well to go with my super 120s sleeveless dress.

Also the bright azul is really pretty in person, its a deep rich turquoise colour. The ebay pics really don't do it justice (make it look more baby blue). Would you wear that to work? I'm asking b/c I work at an accounting firm so I think my dress code is similar to yours (I believe you work at a law firm, right)? Also would you, or anybody else have any ideas for wearing these dresses to work where you would like to cover up a bit but not neccessarily buy the Abby jacket?

    Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  154. oooh also Hexicon, would you wear the abby jacket with the suiting trousers? I think i will end up ordering it as well but just wondering if I can get some other use out of it than just on the dress

Btw this is a, for some reason I posted under hubby's account...guess he was still logged into gmail!

    ReplyDelete
  155. What does "open" mean for an order? I've seen it used in this blog and on my J Crew order status page and I don't understand the term. I ordered two ruffle cardigans on sale and they are no longer available in the colours I ordered (grey and root) so I really hope I get them!

Good luck to everyone else who is waiting!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Tired Memphian: Don't give up on the Fionas yet. Mine (in the pale almond that I had coveted for months) arrived after more than 3.5 weeks - when I had given up and was contemplating paying $250 for it on ebay. It was a 2-item order. The other item arrived but not the Fiona, so I thought it's lost for good.

    ReplyDelete
  157. A, I would wear the Abby jacket with a pencil skirt or trousers . . . maybe I need to investigate the 120s trouser because I read here that the stores had them marked down quite low. Of course, after the struggle to get the dress adjusted to the store sale price I don't really feel like I' up to the battle. Funny how they did it right away for some folks and not others.

I will also wear my 120s dress with my Candace and Alice sweater jackets and my tie-waist cashmere wrap cardigan from a couple of years ago.

But I need to quit shopping--I've bought so much on sale that I am dreading this month's bill!

    ReplyDelete
  158. Hexicon, thanks for that. The favorite fit Ludlow trousers were $49.99 with an additional % off in stores, what I would do is call in your order and ask them to price match to the stores (and right now I think it is 40% off so you will be getting a much better deal than I did!). They really are very nice...unlined but very flattering and well cut.

What colour Candace jacket did you get Hexicon? and what colour dress would you be pairing it with? And what colour alice? I'm sorry but for some reason my brain isn't functioning today and i'm open to any and all ideas!

    ReplyDelete
  159. Vivian, thanks! A little bit of hope is always good :o)

    Enjoy your fiona!
