"Thanks!" to many of you, including Silver Lining (in this
post), JSR (in this
post), as well as Natalie (in this
post), who let us know that there are several images from the December 2014 catalog on Pinterest. (Click here
for J.Crew on Pinterest.)
First and foremost, there are more images that will be showing up on the Pinterest account. For whatever reason, J.Crew likes the make the process slow and painful. Blah.
The Crewcuts and Men's section look amazing... beautiful is the word that comes to mind.
As for the women... While I was cautiously optimistic with the November rollout (and pleasantly surprised in person!), I am "meh" with December's new arrivals. I am hoping the rest of the images will show more promise. I will add, that J.Crew stores are already switching over to Holiday and it looks amazing. I am just hoping the catalog gets more festive-cute too.
Word among several JCAs is that the next roll out of new arrivals
(online) is next week. Brick & mortar stores might have some items on the floor.
What are your thoughts on the
upcoming collection? Are there any pieces you are super excited about?
Does your local store carry any of the new arrivals yet? If so, please
share!
I went to the SF B&M today. I didn't notice any holiday merchandise, yet. I did see the Nike high tops in embossed snake skin. It came in an oxblood color and a dusty rose color. These are the shoes that was on Maison KMV's blog; when she took pictures of the holiday merchandise from a store in NJ?
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see the rest of the style guide....
Damn, that guy Frank nailed it again. The baseball sweater in Donegal is killer. I see more damages to my bank account courtesy of J.Crew.
ReplyDeleteruffled hem sweatshirt......please stop the sweatshirt thing and those seamed military pants ....in the dead of winter (not in my world)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the stand up collar stadium cloth coat is a version of the regent blazer in a coat.

ReplyDeleteI received a few pipcs from my VPS, which I am sharing here.
So far, I get no sense that these are holiday offerings. Crossing fingers for something festive, clothes-wise and photo-wise!
ReplyDeleteI got a style guide yesterday. There are about 6 things I want. The red plaid boy shirt and the red tartan scarf are 2 definites. There are some cute things, I also like the gold elephant Sophie shoe.
ReplyDeleteIf possible could you tell us the price of the collection tuxedo blazer, the staduim stand up collar coat and matalesse maddie pants......thank you. Carolyn from Vancouver
Deletewhat colors are available for the staduim stand up collat coat ? thanks
Delete@Unknown,
DeleteYou can always call 1-800-261-7422 to ask about product info. I call but never order since I just want info only. The CS are always SUPER nice and helpful.
The collection tux blazer is $248.00 and I don't see the pants. Also, see below about the coat.
DeleteFound the pants, $120.00 and come in black metallic and silver metallic.
DeleteJust saw a jeweled dolman top pop up on my Pinterest feed that I swear came out last year...
ReplyDeleteObviously there is no holiday for us. Not very festive at all. Only coal in our stockings.
ReplyDeleteReview of the tassel-trim top from the last rollout. And an ever so small vent about the current merchandise.
ReplyDeleteI saw it in the store and thought the material looked and felt so cheap that I didn't even try it on even though I like that style. It does look cute on you, though.
DeleteJruby18 - I'm so used to everything in retail being silk that I forget I'm touching poly when I'm in the store. I think the factory poly feels cheap, for the most part. This feels better than that. Individual sentiments vary, of course. ;) Thx for checking out the review!
DeleteRemember, there are two different Holiday catalogs - the December one that's being uploaded to Pinterest now, and then the bigger Holiday one that comes out around Thanksgiving. Here is the link to the December 2013 catalog for comparison - they don't have the "Gift Guide" on the Pinterest page but it's the thicker one that's more holiday-ish. So we may have to wait a few weeks for more holiday pieces...just some thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAs for what's uploaded so far, guys and Crewcuts, I'm jealous. Women's....
The side stripe sequin shirt looks fun, but then I remembered that I have a similar sequin + casual menswear shirt from Free People from 3-4 years ago. J. Crew just isn't doing anything fresh and new. And everything is painfully grey on this Pinterest board. Where are the beautiful colors? -- that's what J. Crew used to do best. It's what set them apart. Colors, patterns, and luxe fabric. I'm not seeing any of that.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I was in the Oakbrook, Ill., J Crew store yesterday and was itching to buy something -- anything. I didn't though. Nothing appealed to me at all. I read a comment somewhere the other day, and the writer suggested that there seemed to be two very different J Crews these days: the online store and the actual store. I agree. I see things I like online, just not in the store. And that is a drag, particularly when I wanted to buy something right then and go home with it, instead of ordering and waiting.
DeleteAgreed! I can't find anything when I make the (now) rare trip to the store. I do not like the remodeled Michigan Avenue store AT ALL. J Crew seems to be courting a different customer now. It is sad because the store used to be busy, with a wide range of ages shopping. Now it is not busy at all and I don't see the varied range of consumers either. So glad final sale is over for now because I can order and try on at home. Have no desire to go into the store anymore; only go to make returns.
DeleteI wrote about the colorblock sweater on another thread. I bought it in the gray/black combination and love it. However, it's cut very long, especially in the back. I'm 5'10" and it works for me, but I made a friend of mine who's 5'6" or 5'7" try it on the other day and it was way too long and looked sloppy, which was a shame.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, the J. Crew Drunk Tumblr looks like the real winner in all of this.
ReplyDelete+1
DeleteStanding collar stadium coat is $368.00 and comes in golden sun, black, dusty ginger and dark forest.
ReplyDeletethank you....I bet the dusty ginger is pretty .
Deletedo you have the $ of the collection tuxedo blazer or the maddie pants in Matalasse....thank you
DeleteLook at the post above.
Deletethanks....you are the best !!!!!
DeleteI've been watching the slooowww loading and I'm reminded (women's) of the clothing assigned to a service class in a YA post-apocalyptic series. J.Crew - the dystopian years. Is the slooowwwww loading a form of workers' protest? Or are they just embarrassed?
ReplyDeleteLiving in Norway, I was excited to see the location! I just hope there are more location shots for the women.
ReplyDeleteThere are quite a few things to look forward to actually. My store is a concept store, so we get stuff WAY early. I've posted about a few items on my blog, including a plaid excursion vest that's adorable! There's a blanket scarf coming for the ladies.

DeleteHi, I posted a week or two ago about the plaid flannel popover shirt. I think you might need to look through the archives. I have a few pictures on my IG of pictures of new items. Which post were you looking for? Sorry, I blog as a hobby, so I'm not sure which posts I got around to yet.
Deletewas looking for the posts or IG you mentioned about the new arrrivals (plaid excursion vest)
