Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I didn't go this weekend but did receive my back-ordered Ceces in burnt sienna. I have been wanting this color. They did come in a jcrew factory box though. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Also, I saw that jcrew is offering free shipping today for the last day of the promo.

    1. Greetings Lauren - Happens all the time to me. Not the Factory box, but I frequently receive J.Crew shoes in what is not the original box for that item, color, or size. Often it's okay as the boxes are in good shape and are appropriate to the size of the shoe. This is important to me as I store my shoes in the boxes which keeps them dust-free and allows me to organize them in my close. But sometimes little flats rattle around in a large box, and I received a pair of boots earlier this Fall in what must have been a men's shoe box. I've never had this happen with other online retailers (e.g., DSW, 9 West, Zappos), and I have no idea why it happens so frequently with J.Crew.

  2. I didn't go this weekend either, but I'm thinking about placing a Factory order. Does anyone have experience with the Factory wool skimmers? I need advice on sizing. On the retail side, I usually wear 24-25 for jeans and 00 for skirts. Should I get the skimmers in 00 or 0? Thanks!

    1. Hi Engineer L! I wear the same size in JC skirts (retail or Factory) as I do in the Factory Skimmers - wool or cotton. I have several pairs from seasons past & I love them. They're fully lined which is a major plus. I'm hoping they have some new prints with the roll-out later this week! HTH.

    2. Thanks, Taylor! Trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on the current promo or wait for the next one since Black Friday is right around the corner. Have you seen the wool skimmers for less than $35?

    3. Engineer L - I wear 6 in retail & factory. I took 6 in the skimmers. Reviews of aqua and heather evergreen.

    4. Engineer L - I have not seen them for less than that. I've been lucky enough to score some on Poshmark & ThredUp new with tags for dirt cheap but the only other time I have found them for less is when they go to clearance.

    5. @Gigi, thanks for the link! I knew you reviewed them recently but couldn't find the post for some reason.

@Taylor, I decided to pull the trigger on the black wool skimmers. If the price goes down in the next few days, I can always get a PA. Thanks again!

  3. I made a quick trip to the warehouse store in Arden. I bought a pair of the collection dutch floral pants but now I need ideas of what to wear with them. I want to make them more casual than dressy. I paid about $40.00 for them so I don't have a big investment in them. I also got a pair of leopard calf hair harpers for $60.00. They had 40% off of 6 items or more, so almost the same as warehouse sale prices without the hassle. I got a pair of the parker boots from last year for $60.00 as well. Wearing them today! I picked up a couple of sweaters, one was the cashmere varsity stripe sweater for about $40.00 and I really like it. Would have never considered if I hadn't seen it hanging there at that low price. I plan to wear it tomorrow with the navy drapey wool sweatpant that I got over there sometime back for $15.00. Looking like a million bucks for a $55.00! If anyone has ideas on the dutch floral pant, please let me know.

    3. Asheville is an awesome town and I recommend the Grand Bohemian! Just let me know when and sign me up as well! We can all go over and camp out for the warehouse sale and have a big time!!!!

  5. J Crew is sending me more and more emails - I've gotten at least one daily for the last couple of weeks. The last one said "okay, we admit it, we miss you". But there was no extra incentive to buy (so they couldn't miss me that much). And isn't it a little odd that they "admit" to missing a previously regular customer (I've bought a few in-store items recently but that's it)? Believe me JC, when you've got stuff I want to buy, you won't have to call me - I'll call you!

    1. I totally agree about the emails. Sometimes I get multiple emails in one day! Lol at "I'll call you".

    2. Yeah, it seems like JC is testing out a "booty call" strategy. Rather than contacting me constantly, they should concentrate on making better clothes.

    3. I agree with all of you. I did actually stop by on the weekend but was so underwhelmed with most of the new arrivals. I actually felt quite sad, pretty much my entire wardrobe is J Crew and I have loved the brand for a very, very long time But this year has been very light for me with regard to purchases. The sale section was huge and at 40% off some low, low prices they can't seem to move their merchandise. I look at some of the designs, colors and lack of patterns and remember the great stuff I have from them already hanging in my closet and walk away.

    4. I think this is the case with just about all online retailers, not just J.Crew. You only need to purchase something once, or not purchase something and sign up for e-mails to receive them daily - looking at you Gap, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic, BR Outlet, Bauble Bar, Michael Kors, Piperlime, Macy's, Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdales, etc. You get more e-mails if you have a credit card with them. I've unsubscribed to several over the past year.

    5. Funny, they quit sending me emails. I spend a lot at Jcrew and I have asked them to add me *back* on the email list that they took me off of and I can't get back on! I give up......

  6. I went but was disappointed my store didn't have the elephant parade shoes, and they're already sold out online! To all those who have visited your store, if you have seen the Heart Dot Sleeveless silk shirt in a 00, please drop me a line!
All my store had was sweats, loafers and coats. My VPS said she didn't even bother to call because she knew I wouldn't like anything. Gotta love her for her honesty!

  7. I did not, and haven't bought anything for a while now. BUT! I got an offer for $50 for $150+ and free shipping in my email today! I'm wondering if it's because I haven't shopped for a while - the subject line was "you there?" Did anyone else get this?

    1. Lucky you! I have received a couple of these in the past, but I had been shopping, so I'm not sure why I got it. Regardless, I used it! You should note that J.Crew doesn't combine promotions, so chances are you will need to take advantage of your $50.00 on full-price/non-promotion items. Good news is that if you use it online, and the $50.00 takes you below the usual $150.00 shipping minimum, you should still get free shipping. Cheers-Jennifer

  8. No visit to the store for me, but I did order the wool plaid scarf in grey earlier today with the free shipping/no minimum. Today is the last day of the current promo, so it will be interesting to see what they offer up tomorrow.

  9. Hi ladies, totally off topic but would you know how jcrew sizing runs for kid/toddler stuff? I want to buy my 2.5 yo one of the puffer jackets but unsure whether to get a 2T or size up to 3. She is on the smaller side for her age and on the chart she is borderline 2-3. I know for women's stuff sometimes I have to size up or down esp for outerwear if I want to layer so wondering if anyone has thoughts. TIA!!

    1. Mamakoh, I would say definitely size up to a 3. If it's a little big, then you get a bonus season next Fall. My experience based on 2 boys, 1 girl is that crewcuts tops run small, esp. in comparison to GAP, and pants run fairly TTS in length, running towards slim.

    2. I agree with Audrey. Size up. Crewcuts tends to run very slim. My daughter is 3.5 and wears 4 or 4/5 crewcuts, except her skirts (3 to fit her waist). She is very tall and slender for her age - 41" tall and 33lbs - so crewcuts is a good fit for her. I find it tts when I buy her clothes from the boys section (dress shirts to match her daddy!).
