This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopped
by a J.Crew store this past weekend
to see what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS
{sigh!} in person, maybe you
might be willing to
share that with us in this post. In
particular, if you could share
with us a few of the noteworthy items
that are available, at what
prices, and potential sizes the
store is carrying (as well as the
store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also, please
let us know if your local store
was/ is carrying an additional
percent off sale. Thanks in
advance!!! :)
Did do some returns but nothing at J Crew is catching my eye lately. I go into Madewell and was able to pick up the Skinny Skinny Crop in Tempest Wash for $34.99 and the Coated Roadtrip Jacket for $68.95.
ReplyDeleteI have those jeans and LOVE them! I paid way more for them though :( that's a great price!!!
DeleteSale section was and extra 40% off in the store. The store honoured the website promo, so I got the Asymmetrica ip Pencil skirt in ivory.
ReplyDeleteSome reviews here.
Did not visit the store, but I do have a question. Has anyone successfully washed their Pixie pants? I'm hesitant about the dry clean thing but if I wear them a lot they will need to be cleaned eventually... I'm hoping that delicate wash/hang dry works.

All the time. I regularly wash mine. They do just great!
Deletemaqsad - what cycle do you use? I have two pairs of Gigis from Factory I have worn a few times but not washed yet & I didn't really want to have to take them to the cleaners! TIA.
DeleteI washed mine too in the delicate cyle.
DeleteThank you so much! :)
DeleteI washed my Factory Gigi pants and the waistband unraveled from the pant to make a big hole, yuck! Had washed my Pixies with no problems, so it may have just been a bad pair or wash.
DeleteTaylor, just saw your comment, sorry! Delicate cycle. HTH!
DeleteI made a return. The sale leopard scarf was way too rough. Reviewed here along w/the Chelsea leopard rainboots.
ReplyDeleteI went to the clearance store in Lynchburg on Friday. They were running a great promo - 20% off everything, 30% off 4 or 5 items, and 40% off 6 or more. I ended up getting a pair of black Minnies in Tall (which is what I had specifically been looking for as I prefer the extra inches for winter) & a pair of navy Campbell Capris for $14 each. I also got the merino swing sweater in honey glaze (I had been waiting for it to pop back in my size but never did!) & the merino v-neck cardigan in navy, both sweaters for $21 a piece. They had recently rearranged the entire store again - if you're looking for boots & are in the area I HIGHLY recommend stopping by; they had more boots than I had ever seen before! Incredible selection.
ReplyDeleteI also went to return stuff. While I was there, I picked up a pair of black distressed toothpicks (additional 40% off). I really like them, but the sizing is a little inconsistent and runs large. I'm usually a size 25 or sometimes even 26 in jeans at Madewell. For these I tried on all of the size 24s and 25s and ended up taking home a "large" size 24.
ReplyDeleteEngineer L - Thx for pointing those out. :) I recently decided I need a pair of black jeans like that. Pinterest & Instagram are to blame.
DeleteSame here! If you need more styling inspiration, check out Crystalin Marie's blog. I like her style aesthetic, and she wears black distressed jeans pretty frequently.

DeleteEngineer L, did you feel the rise on these jeans are pretty low or a little higher like some of the other toothpicks this year? I am really loving the slightly higher rise! Thanks in advance!
DeleteI found these to be solidly mid-rise, despite having a long torso. I don't have much experience with other toothpicks so I'm not sure how they compare, but I took some measurements. The size 24 I have is 8.5" in the front and 11.5" in the back. Hope that helps!
DeleteDistressed jeans are so cute, on some people, but I just can't get past the actual holes. I've bought these and the regular blue denims from JC, but ended up keeping these from GAP instead.
ReplyDeleteInteresting rip-and-repair Gap jeans. I was willing to gamble on the J.Crew toothpicks since they fit so well and only cost $35 + tax (with my student discount). This is my first pair of distressed jeans, so we'll see how they wear.
DeleteI needed new pants so I decided to road trip out to the Clearance store in Lynchburg. I was able to take advantage of some great deals and got 5 pairs of pants (including the Campbell capris and Turner pants both still regular price online), a pair of black distressed toothpicks priced at $9 (all black denim was on sale for that price), 2 of the cap-sleeve shirttail blouse, 3 pairs of shoes and a tote bag all for about $250. Overall, I say I got what I needed and I can't wait to wear everything.
ReplyDeleteGreat haul. It sounds like you got the same pair of black jeans as me, but for only $9! What a steal!
