Madewell added some new arrivals online yesterday, including new sleepwear and scarves. I've shared what I'm loving in this post.
ReplyDeleteLands' End Friends & Family Event is taking place until 11.11.14. Save 30% Off your entire order with code FRIENDS pin 115911714 at checkout. LE also added some new arrivals with lots to love yet again. I've shared my Lands' End personal picks in this post.
I've also shared my Winter Boots Wishlist (part one) in this post, and would love to hear reviews/thoughts from anyone who might own or has tried on any of the boots on my list. :)

DeleteThe link to my Lands' End post above is incorrect. The actual link to it is here.
DeleteI've had some pretty good luck with the denim offerings from Loft lately (shoutout to Gigi for turning me on to Loft jeans!!!), and recently picked up a pair of their denim leggings. I've posted a few outfits with them here.
ReplyDeleteYay, fivesouth! Thx for sharing that.
DeleteDolce Vita fringe booties reviewed here.
ReplyDeleteI went into Madewell today and tried on some tops. The flyaway tank is enormous. As is the cotton/linen? turtleneck top. Just weird looking, at least to me. I loved the wool sweater that's slightly A-line w/a zipper down the back that when it's unzipped gives a little swing to the sweater in the back. So cute!! TTS, but a little short in front, so you really need something underneath it. They had it styled w/a flannel shirt underneath. I think it'd probably look and feel a little bulky on me, but maybe a slim fitting tank would look good. If I can catch it on markdown, I'll grab it.
ReplyDeleteHave recently rediscovered MANGO, which used to be ubiquitous in malls but since the recession is largely on-line. Ordered a few things and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. They have some great sweaters and tops right now, simple and classic - very reminiscent of Club Monaco but at more reasonable prices. I know JCP carries the MNG by MANGO line, but the 'real' line is much nicer imo. Generally their clothing runs smaller than JC, LOFT, etc. as it is European sizing, so you need to order a size up from your usual. They run sales regularly, too!
ReplyDeletePurchased from Everlane, their Chunky Knit Raglan sweater. Love it!!! Great quality, 100% wool, not scratchy and very soft. The fit is great, it has a slightly lower back with small slit on sides which hit me below waist but I am only 5' 1". It is a heavy weave sweater but I can see wearing it alone or with a tee or shirt underneath. I got a Small and Extra Small since I am not too familiar with their sizing. I am keeping the XS but I am not a fan of the oversized look. For reference I purchased the J Crew Pointelle sweater (B5916) in XXS. In comparison, the J Crew sweater is not soft, much thinner. I am planning on now returning the Pointelle sweater and will maybe purchase at a steep discount if available later in the year. Everlane does not have tons of colors and styles, does not run discounts but I will be looking more to them for quality. Best part I ordered on Monday and received the shipment today. Sorry but with J Crew I would still be waiting for the shipment notice, and another 2 days for a tracking number with any real information. Don't mind paying $5 for return since shipping to me was free.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Everlane. I ordered the cashmere tunic a few weeks ago. Fits great, nice weight & soft. And a great price also. Very happy with it. I have one from last year as well. The only difference is that they didn't send the one I ordered this year in that nice cloth bag they used to send out their items in.
DeleteThanks for this review! I'll be waiting for mine for weeks, since shipping to Canada from Everlane is extremely slow (but I love how fast they ship within the US!). I was going to order the J Crew pointelle, but was holding out until I had a chance to try on the Everlane crew. I was disappointed it didn't come in ivory (white), but I ordered the grey and black, as well as the cardigan in grey. I hope I like their grey, but have had great luck with their greys in the past.
DeleteI agree, R, white would have been lovely, I ordered the black since I felt it would be a good place to start and I have enough grey and navy sweaters. Hopefully if it is popular they will introduce more colors.
DeleteMore love for everlane here! Over the past year I have purchased the short sleeved sweatshirt, sleeveless button down in cotton/poplin, the loafers (size up at least a half size to avoid the stretching headache I had), a duffle bag, and the zip hoody for my husband. All excellent quality. I just purchased the sleeveless chunky knit in grey, and can't wait for it to arrive!
DeleteI've been wanting to try their silk shirts. If anyone has a link or pic they'd be willing to share of them wearing Everlane that would be truly appreciated! I like their radical transparency on pricing and I actually enjoyed reading about their factories. The head designer used to be at J Crew- from that article that a JCA posted few weeks ago. But I do think they can control quality better since they are a small online company right now.
DeleteHas everyone checked out amazon's boot selection (and veteran's day promo code floating around)? I just scored a pair of loeffler Randall Felix boots for $147 (retail $395). Haven't received them yet and am worried they will be defective or something - too good to be true!
ReplyDeletercb.shops: I order shoes and boots from Amazon on a regular basis (with 6 of us in the family there is always someone in need of a new pair), and have never had a problem with them being defective or having any other issues. They really do have some amazing prices right now...congrats on getting such a fabulous deal! :)
DeleteMadewell is offering 25% off select sweaters and boots until 11.7.14 with code YESPLEASE at checkout. I've shared my picks and more details in this post. They also added a lot of new items to the sale section, too.
ReplyDeleteWe love a SmAaaaacDoWN. Madewell's leather-sleeve coat vs.....
ReplyDeleteAnother cute purchase I made was at Gap last weekend. Fur-trim colorblock down puffer #988974. It says online purchase only but I got it in store with 40% off and actually it was only marked $168 not $198 as online. I love that the fur on the hood is removable and the hood is lined with fleece. The sleeves have velcro to tighten and loosen and don't have that nasty wool like cuff which I personally dislike. The fit was pretty TTS, I did take an XS since with a down coat, I really don't need heavy clothes underneath. I liked that it came mid thigh not too long or short and liked the grey/black combination. I did actually write an online review which I verified but it never got posted. Maybe because I mentioned I got it in store and it is listed as on-line only. I have 60 days to return so will wait to see if I actually wear it, the weather in Colorado has been lovely and warm this Fall but sure winter is on its way.
