Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the WINTER sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Yes, I walked in ready to buy (with rewards in hand) and didn't see a thing that I wanted.

  2. I'm new to JCA and now sure where to post this.

I am wondering if anyone knows how the Factory Pencil Skirt fits (specifically the regular one, not the long). I'm 5'2" so I usually need a petite size but at 21.5" this the regular Factory Pencil Skirt is a petite size.

    Has anyone tried it?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Hey! I'm the same height as you and usually buy a size 2 double serge pencil skirt in the retail store and need to hem it an inch and a half. In the factory store the size 2 fits perfectly without needing to hem. However, the wool in the factory skirt is a bit itchier, even though it's lined.

    2. Madeline - Audreybella reviewed 3 or 4 Factory skirts in this post. I'm 5'2". The Factory skirt lengths are usually shorter and fit like the retail petite length on me.

    4. I'm about the same as you (5'3") and I LOVE factory pencil skirts. I find that regular J Crew skirts are too long, and petites are sometimes too short (like work-inappropriate short) and too tight at the hips for me.

      Factory skirts are just perfect.

No more 50% sale items as of today.

  4. I didn't visit a J. Crew this past weekend but I did visit a Janie and Jack and found a lookalike of the Piazza Sweater Jacket! Even though it was in the boy's section, it had all the same details as the J. Crew version: double breasted, 3/4 length sleeves, Peter Pan collar. It even had the little buttoned tabs on the sleeves and a "tie" at the back (a little strip of fabric, it didn't actually tie). So cute! It was even on sale so of course, I had to get one for my little girl. :)

  6. Has anyone tried on the midrise toothpick jeans? Does it come to just under the bellybutton?

All of my jeans are low rise, but I love the wash on the midrise toothpick jean in distressed indigo. And I can't find another pair of jeans by any brand that has such a perfect-looking light wash.

I'm just afraid I'll hate the midrise.

    1. I have the midrise toothpick cords, and they hit right under my belly button -- if I pull them up, they could hit me right AT my belly button.
Personally, I really like them because they cover my lower belly/pregnancy pooch and the cut fits really nicely. I don't find them too constricting at all if that's what you're worried about. I think a lot of ther JCAs like the midrise cords, so maybe they can chime in!

I just ordered the midrise toothpick in carbon wash -- I think I will get it tomorrow! Hopefully it'll be the same great fit as the cords!

    2. I also have a pooch (but not from pregnancy...just because that's where I gain weight first, unfortunately, haha), and I've tried midrise jeans (not J.Crew) in the past. And it's fine when I'm standing up, but when I'm sitting, it seems to be uncomfortable.

I guess I'll try them out if there's a discount ever on non-sale items.
