Hooray for FP promotions AND free shipping with no minimum! Thanks J. Crew.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to peruse Factory. I used to have a strong preference for Retail, but lately the Factory styling has been very appealing to me - fresh but simplified. I remember copying outfits straight out of old J. Crew catalogs circa 2008ish and I definitely don't do that anymore. But there are lots of Factory looks these days that have that J. Crew "something" but would work in my real life.
Happy President's Day shopping, everyone!
I bought the factory suiting sheath dress on super sale (<$30) just after the holidays and am now contemplating making an actual suit by buying the factory suiting cotton blazer but have been unable to find any reviews for it anywhere. Has anyone bought a factory suiting cotton blazer and if so, would you mind sharing what you think of it, how it fits, etc? I have not bought any blazer from JCrew or its outlet in at least 5 years so am slightly hesitant. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAlso contemplating the collection cashmere fair isle turtleneck after seeing it on shopping with M, and potentially the toothpick cord in ribbon bow print but I fear I would get sick of it.
Factory's got some currently hidden items like their versions of the Villa Stripe Sundress and Perfect Shirt in Chambray Polka Dot. Search terms like "stripe" and "dot" - there are probably more out there as well.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of dupes, my local Marshalls had their versions of the Naomi dot top, raindrop lace top (navy and a modern red/bright flame type color) and some Cynthia Rowley black twill pants that looked and felt just like Minnies/Winnies.
I saw those too! The "naomi" was only $16.99. Of course, it's polyester, but when you compare to J.Crew factory prices...
DeleteHas anyone tried the chambray tunic in white? Is it sheer and how does the sizing run? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI grabbed the draped shift dress in black/white polka dot (~$31 after discount). This colorway only appears if you actually type "dress" into the search function.
ReplyDeleteOMG. God bless you silver_lining! After hearing that Factory had the pin dot Chambray shirt, I kept waiting and waiting for it to show up--never occurred to me to do a search. And of course this morning I again missed the "regular" shirt on the JCrew site.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much--I've ordered one for myself and for my mother (who always wants what I have). Thank you thank you.
Wondering how the Factory asymmetric dress compares to the regular Origami sheathe dress. Thank you in advance.
ReplyDeleteI ordered this dress a long long time ago and ended up returning it. Even though the style is the same as the Origami dress, I didn't like the fabric (felt synthetic) and the way it sits on the body which to me wasn't flattering like the retail version. I bought the retail version and it is perfect. HTH.
DeleteNandy--Thank you so much! I wondered about that. Part of what makes the retail version so lovely is the way the fabric falls on the body. Thanks for taking the time to reply and to help me.
DeleteSeconded-- Thanks, Nandy. I've always wondered the same thing. The two versions do look slightly different in the online pictures. It's good to know they do, in fact, fit differently.
DeleteElizabethM- thank you! Snagged that dress (only $31) too!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't received the Cashmere Waffle cardi from the previous promo, so will sit this one. The knit looks identical to the Colorblock Sweater I blogged about here before. I got the 'heather graphite' and it looks like they still have it in S in that colour, as well as in 'emerald' (the colour of 2013) in all the other sizes.
ReplyDeleteAs an FYI --- my Factory store was passing out "extra 20 off"coupons at the door. All the items I bought with an instore promo were eligible for an extra 20 off. Everything in store was AT LEAST 25 off or higher, so it seems in store is the better deal, despite the free shipping.
ReplyDeleteGot the scalloped lace tee in apricot mist for 35.65 (w/ ebates cash back) Been hunting down the retail raindrop lace version forever. So happy!! Might have to order the two other colors :) They also have a version of last summer's retail Villa dress called Button Back sundress in both the stripe & solid colors.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried the factory shrunken tweed jacket? I've been looking for a jacket like that for a while now. I'm usually a size 4 in J.Crew liberty shirts and a S in jackie cardigans. Never bought anything from the factory store before so I"m wondering about the quality.
ReplyDeleteThe sale is on again today.
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda bummed because the shirt I ordered yesterday for my husband dropped in price today. In fact, I noticed a lot of the prices dropped overnight.
Thanks for posting about the price drops.I called and they did an adjustment for me as a 'one time' courtesy
DeleteDid anyone see the cotton-silk polka dot popover when it was in stock? Both days I've reached error pages :(
