J.Crew has a really nice update to their Final Sale section online (click here)
this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (1200+ for Women and 540+ for Men). Yey!
Plus there are a lot of new items that got markdown. For example, the Shoe-Sketch Scarf (Item 35067; $65.00) is now on sale for $49.99. (If I remember correctly, this just got released a few weeks ago. It is relatively a "new arrival" item.)
As you might expect, some of the pop-back items are selling out quickly due to low inventory. However, the sale section (as a whole) is not moving as quickly as it normally does. I think it might have to do with the lack of an additional percent off promo. (I know that is what is keeping me from pulling the trigger on a few items.)
It is also worth mentioning that several brick & mortar
(B&M) stores are still running an additional 30% off their Final Sale. Many stores will price match the online sale price (before additional discount). So it might be worth a stop to look around.
Did you check out the Final Sale section today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)
There are some things I certainly have my eye on, but after calculating how much I have spent at JCrew in the past 3 months I need to hold off. Plus, the $9 shipping on a $40 item is too much to handle. (Not to mention that a few days ago the $40 item was 40% off!).
ReplyDeleteI agree, Joy. There are quite a few things I would love to have, but not at these prices. While I know that they'll likely be long gone if (when) an additional promo rolls around, I simply refuse to buy anything today that cost 40% less a few days ago. If JC wants to heavily discount last season's sweaters, outerwear, etc., I'll be glad to take them off their hands--otherwise, I'll be saving my money for spring/summer items.
ReplyDeleteVery true. I agree also.
DeleteNothing for me unless there is a sufficient price drop and a promo. I think J Crew has been late to the game on reducing prices on outerwear, sweaters, etc. There is now a large supply of items that appeared to be sold out 3 weeks ago. It's the end of February most people are onto spring items.
ReplyDeleteFYI, the Shoe Sketch Scarf is $10 less in store, at $39.99. plus 30% off. It frustrates me so much when online and in-store prices are not aligned!
ReplyDeleteYes, I wanted that scarf but just knowing it is less in stores I won't buy it. Talbots has the same prices online as in stores. They have been getting my money and they have gorgeous silk scarves too:)
DeleteI did checkout the sale section this morning but haven't made a purchase, although there are a few things in my cart. I agree, Alexis, that the items aren't moving as quickly without an extra % off promotion. I would have been much more likely to buy if there was one going on right now.
ReplyDeleteAlso, for those interested, there were quite a few new Promo-priced items added this week, along with some markdowns. The updated list is here.
I saw the big update this morning but I avoid final sale like the plague, and also I don't want to put any more money towards fall/winter stuff - I'd much rather be putting it towards spring stuff.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree!
DeleteI would have gotten a few items, but i think the prices are still to high for items that are 1/2 year old or older:(
ReplyDeleteWhy cant they do real reductions on the prices of older things?
Yes, what is up with shearling at these "sale" prices? And all the Fair Isle = winter.... and the prices are not enough to move it obviously. And when I look on line, yes I just want to go to the store and see if it is better there!
ReplyDeleteWhy couldn't they have done this update during their sale last weekend!? So many items that were n/a in my size have been restocked and then some. Now I gotta wait it out for a new promo.
ReplyDeleteOf topic: did you see Michelle Obama's outfit on Jimmy Fallon? I love her cardigan and she has on the minnies I believe. This video was so cute and she was hilarious (history of Mom dance).
ReplyDeleteSorry, here's the link. She has on the collection cashmere window pane cardi, minnies and the cashmere shell:

Hi! Went by a store this morning and thought I'd share that they are still offering 30% final sale and are also now offering 25% off handbags!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if a percent off happened at the very end of February, when someone looks at the numbers. I have a feeling that percent offs are not strategic in the way they should be, but that the decision is made by someone who wants to "raise the numbers" at that particular moment, and makes the decision irrespective of stock (which would be the smart way to go).
ReplyDeleteI, too, see things I want, but just can't bring myself to buy at the current price. At this point I don't even mind final sale because I know the colorways and the sizing of the things I want.
Finally--this seems like a good time for cardholders to specially get a percent off store/sitewide for new things.
Forgot to add--I saw the new color block bag--the mint, jade and pink one (I can't keep the taxidermy of bags straight and don't remember it's name. It's a bag? It has two handles?). Anyway. It is *adorable*. Really hard not to pounce on it. And I am not a bag person.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the sale wasn't updated like this during the 40% off. There was NOTHING to buy then!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNothing for me this round. I visited the store yesterday and they still had 30% off the sale, items, including some MacAlister wedge booties, some ballet flats and Etta pumps.
ReplyDeleteNew arrivals were also in.
OT: Madewell 25% off $100
ReplyDeleteI have a 25% off a $100 purchase code for Madewell that expires today if anyone can use it. I stopped in the store this morning intending to use it but just couldn't find anything I really wanted. I hate to see it go to waste, so if you can use it, please email me at KMckay1017 at aoldotcom.
They need to do a percent off AND free shipping to get this stuff moving. I contemplated a tippi sweater but I am not paying 9 bucks for shipping!
ReplyDeleteMy VPS sent me an email about 25% off handbags this weekend. I bought the Tartine Satchel in Color Block. If you are looking for french hen sweater, I saw three in XXS, in black at the Boca Raton (FL) store, $59.99 plus 30% off.
ReplyDeleteMadewell code has been claimed. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOT- I was at TJMaxx In Bellingham Wa. today. They have the J Crew fall floral necklace ($40 and the bracelet ($20) also the round stone bracelet and necklace ( it was in a brown/topaz color ) which was another exact J Crew product. What the heck...the exact jewllery as I have seen the J Crew irl. What is up with this. TJMaxx prices were obviously much lower and the have a fair exchange policy. Carolyn From Vancouver
ReplyDeleteWas it actual JCrew merchandise or just lookalikes?
DeleteA few years ago they had actual JCrew overstocks, mostly from the weddings and parties line.
They have also had real J Crew shoes very cheaply priced
DeleteI saw the same jewelry, it looked exactly like the J.Crew pieces but had a different name on the tag. Can't remember what the name was. But yeah, it is strange.... they are exact knockoffs.
DeleteWow, I never see J. Crew anything at TJ Maxx, good finds!
DeleteI don't shop J. Crew online sale anymore because you can't return it and they don't have any reviews. With their inconsistent sizing and quality, it's just not worth the risk.
ReplyDeleteYes, inconsistent sizing is a bit problem and getting defective items from final sale. Good for you. I agree and do the same!
DeleteBIG not bit:)
DeleteI agree about the sizing and quality on many items, but not everything in sale is Final Sale. It still may not be worth your time to watch the sale section, but I have been pleasantly surprised how many items in "Final Sale" are not actually Final Sale.
DeleteThere was another big update today and I happened to be up - thank you dog for barking furiously at who knows what at 5:50 am! I just hope whoever snatched the multicolored flower lattice necklace from my bag isn't a reseller. Man, that necklace is the only thing I really want... I almost should have paid full price, except $228 for costume jewelry still seems too high. But it's so darn pretty!
ReplyDeleteI was up at 6:00, not sure what time the update happened but it was pretty good (1266 when I first looked). I ordered the cashmere zip-front hoodie in heather caramel. The price was not bad but not great, but I look all the time and I don't see this on sale very often so I think this price is the best I'm going to do on it. I'm still waiting on the gray one I ordered that is backordered until (I think) April.
DeleteI'm sorry you missed the necklace, that is aggravating particularly if it was a reseller.
Sorry you did not get your necklace but you could get a nice piece of REAL jewelry for $228. I am just not a fan of their jewelry and neither is my VPS. She was actually talking it down to me this week!!!
DeleteI just got an email with 20% off and free shipping on any one purchase online for our "best" cardholders before March 2. Looks like it should be good for new arrivals this week!
ReplyDeleteI just got that email too! And then I jumped on the phone with the CS because I just placed an online order 30 minutes ago. The very nice CS agreed to apply the code to my order and credit me the 20% and shipping charges. Yey!
DeleteAwesome! I wonder if it applies to anything or only to new arrivals? I wonder when the new arrivals will be on the web site.
Deletei got the same email and i'm not a cardholder.
DeleteLooks like it applies to everything in an order. Now I just need to talk myself down from some items.
DeleteIt's one time use on any order on jcrew.com. I think the new arrivals are up this week - Wednesday?
ReplyDeleteThat's great! But ugh, not until Wednesday for new arrivals?
DeleteI knew it! I called it! Free shipping plus 20% off code. Butterfly blouse? Everly Wedges? Pixelated Houndstooth? Hmm. What will it be.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just a code for 20% off and free shipping. I know exactly what I want too. Thanks J.Crew:)
ReplyDeleteI am looking for a good online VPS, an suggestions? TIA
ReplyDeleteBummer, I'm a cardholder, but I didn't get a 20% off code. If anyone doesn't want theirs and would like to give it away, I would very much appreciate a code.
ReplyDeleteMy email is holaphoebe at gmail! Thank you!
I didn't get the email either, but if you won't use yours, I'll happily take it! :-)
Deletenandass99@hotmail.com
I did not either but I usually get the emails from J Crew later than many. If I decide on something I will certainly ask for a code to use. These selective email campaigns drive me crazy.
DeleteI didn't get one either. I never get emails for cardholders.
DeleteI got a code too. It says for use with a J. Crew credit card, but it's been my experience you can use any card. Has anyone else tried that?
ReplyDeleteI reaallly wanted the leather tipped peacoat. Kept trying to put the size 4 in my shopping cart but it wouldn't go. Checked this morning and the size 4 is gone...guess it was never really there :(
ReplyDeleteToo bad, too because I got the card hold 20% email this morning and I would have most likely pulled the trigger on that one. Now, I guess I'll save it for the new arrivals. I'm really excited to see the latest catalog. The scanned pages were very pretty!
Yes the coat was there but you have to call CS to place the order for you I have had this happen multiple times where I cannot get an item to go into my shopping bag but when I call CS they put the order through no problem
DeleteReview of the tipped boy shirt in this post. The navy is still on promo online $98 and $79.99 in-store. The addtl 30% off final sale is still going on in-store.
ReplyDeleteI really hope I get the code for new arrivals.
ReplyDeleteI got the code, too this AM. Now I just have to wait when the new March roll-out arrives online so I can see what I can blow my tax return on.. :)
ReplyDeleteI mean I hope the roll-out arrives before March 2.
DeleteI would love a code if someone gets multiples and would like to feed a bit of shopping on my behalf!
ReplyDeletemusingsbyjacquelyn at cox dot net
I would appreciate a code if you will not be using yours!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the new rollout means some of the older items-butterfly shirt--will go on sale?
ReplyDeleteI didn't get the e-mail and I would LOVE a code!
ReplyDeleteI keep obsessively checking my email, but no such luck. Do they really send emails at different times?
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with item #31427 the mini medallion tie neck dress. It's a replica of a Bottega Veneta dress that I just covet but was way out of my budget! Will def be trying this!
ReplyDeleteI would gladly put a code to great use if anyone has one for me.
ReplyDeletegotdraw@yahoo dot com
I think Gigi mentioned this already, but if you are a cardholder and didn't receive the email, just call and they will apply to your purchase. I talked to a really nice lady who didn't give me any problems. HTH!
ReplyDeletenot a cardholder but i rcvd a 20% off email earlier today so all is not lost for those that didnt rcv one the other day
