This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the WINTER sale, or to see some new SPRING
arrivals {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
It's highly likely since I need a gift/ gift card.
ReplyDeleteSome reviews, including that of the Charlie fatigue jacket here.
Probably on Monday since I'm I won't be working. Would like to check out the sale sections and have a couple of returns.
ReplyDeleteI have about a million items to return so I'll be checking in. Plus my rewards card is burning a whole since I completely forgot to use it when I pulled the trigger on several pop-backs.
ReplyDeleteI knew it was just a matter of time--Blair at AP has the pixelated houndstooth skirt on today.
ReplyDeleteI purchased the pixelated houndstooth skirt but I will be returning the skirt today. The main issue is with the material of the skirt. The red/houndstooth part of the skirt have begin to fray and I have not even wore it! The fabric care guide inside say the skirt is hand wash, but I'm afraid the houndstooth part of the skirt would not held up in the wash at all. Be very careful when you inspect the skirt as it might be a one or two season max item.
DeleteI'd like to see some of the new arrivals in person, so I'll stop by if I get the chance.

ReplyDeleteWhile making some returns Wednesday evening @ the Burlington, MA store, I saw one navy Excursion Quilted Vest, size small in the sale section.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's still there?
If anyone sees an Excursion vest size small please have let me know!
DeleteI have to go into NYC for my local store, or drive to one of the NJ malls on a Saturday (ugh) so I will probably not be hitting up a store this weekend. I did get my box of goodies from the 30% sale, a few items in an outfit here.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone please tell me how the most recent rewards cards were mailed out? I did qualify but never got it in mail. Glad they send out email reminders though:)
ReplyDeleteI got mine via snail mail about a week and a half ago. I didn't get the code via email beforehand like some JCAs did.
DeleteI got one in the mail as well.
DeleteWhat did the envelope look like? How did ot come? Thanks.
DeleteMine came in a large white envelope since it had the rewards card and the foldout styleguide/collection booklet for 2013. HTH.
DeleteSame.
DeleteIf someone spots a bow coat in vibrant fuschia, in a size 0 or 00, in stores this weekend. Can you please let me know?
ReplyDeletethanks so much!!!!

I stopped in and ended up loving the linen Midnight Floral tee, which I didn't expect. The polka dot schoolboy blazer is very cute (though lined in polyester), as is a new textured cotton dress in tan/black polka dots (though short, like a short-sleeved Jules length).
ReplyDeleteI ordered the Midnight Floral tee so I am glad to hear that it might be a keeper!
DeleteYep, I tried on that tan/black polka dots dress in the textured cotton. Although I'm usually a size 0, I tried on a size 2 since there wasn't a size 0 on the rack but I think the 0 would have been a better fit. It was ok-but I thought it made me look wider and I guess I preferred the more casual scatter dot dress from last year.
DeleteI also saw the midnight floral tee but didn't have time to try it on. It did look like linen but on the online description it says cotton. I'm not sure if this floral tee passed the F21 test for me as a FP purchase, but if it goes on sale, I would consider.
The dress was cute, but dressier in that heavier mayerial, and that poly lining really bugged me, especially for a warm-weather item.
DeleteFunny about the Midnight floral. It definitely said 100% linen, but it's described online as a soft jersey cotton. Nope, it's a nice slubby linen! CFS phoned it in. I liked that it had both blues and blacks in it.
I'm intrigued about this tan/black dot dress. Is the material like the embossed cotton dresses of yore?
DeleteNow that I'm looking at my fitting room pics, the dress makes me look wide cuz I think I needed a smaller size or a size that was more fitted. It was definitely cute enough for me to try it on and I think maybe if it was belted, or styled, it would look nice. Yep, definitely dressier in that heavier material. The texture is not embossed but more "tweed-like?", like a potato sack texture? (Not that it looks or feels as rough as a potato sack).
DeleteAppGal-I don't have a blog but can send some pics from the fitting room for you if you reply with your email. I don't have a closeup of the texture, but you can see the dress.
I called my store, and they are having a few promos. So I'll probably stop by to see what they have.
ReplyDeleteMade it to the crewlet this morning for a quick power shop before picking up my son at preschool. They were running 40% off the charley intarsia lobster sweater, 50% off denim, 30% off perfect shirts and 25% off jewelry. They had a city mini in linen in festival green for 40%. I grabbed it off the rack so fast, since I love the city mini and festival green is one of my all time favorite j.crew colors. I got my normal size 2 and feel it fits true to size. It is very nice and lined in cotton, absolutely identical to the retail city mini from last year. It came to 35 and change. Other than that, I did not see any other new arrivals, but I was in a bit of a rush.
ReplyDeleteI ordered the lobster sweater & even though I paid shipping it was much less than my gas + bazillion in tolls in driving to the outlet. The SA told me that they were selling very well. They've been sold out on the web site for a few weeks.
DeleteOooooh, thank you for the heads up! I am loving that lobster sweater and would love to do a charge send (no crewlet nearby). Has anybody seen it in XXS?
DeleteI saw a xxs as of Wednesday at the Arundel Mills crewlets store 4105792102. Good luck!
DeleteThank you, cuckoo! I am going to try calling as soon as they open!
Deletecan anyone please comment on the Thomas Mason items a la J Crew thanks
ReplyDeleteI am a petite and cannot wear them, but my friend has a couple. They are beautifully tailored and make her look like a million bucks.
DeleteRosie... thank you for responding. I have asked for comments three times now. I guess I am the only one interested in trying them out at the sale. J Crew seem to always charge alot for any collaborations with other sources...I am wondering if they are just overpriced shirts...I am also eyeing the housecoat ....Thanks so much for your comment...
DeleteHi Unknown - I second Rosie. The TM shirts are great value on sale. My personal favs are the white tuxedo ones... But all of them are great & long lasting. The fit is impeccable on the tuxedo shirt.
DeleteI called a Madewell store to see if they have a scarf in stock and the SA said that while the item is full priced, there is a 30% off promo going on right now which would bring the price down. So it sounds like there may be a promo at Madewell stores right now, perhaps on everything or just accessories or scarves?
ReplyDeleteShopaholic: Yes, Madewell has 30% off final sale styles (and promo-priced items) plus free shipping on all orders with code LOVEIT at checkout until 2.18.13. I blogged about the sale along with the Madewell promo-priced items list here on my blog today.
DeleteTheir scarves are often on promo!
DeleteI have to return some pants I ordered, so I'll be in there. I was just at the 5th Avenue store on Wednesday and was kind of underwhelmed so I might go to Columbus Circle just to see if their merch selection is any better right now.
ReplyDeleteStadium cocoon coats in heather stone and graphite and black on sale at Yorkdale for $211 with additional 30 off
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees a fushia bow coat in 0 or 2 please let me know ;) thank you so much!! Jolinda.moreno@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the factory embroidered lace top in their store (item 92042), could you please provide a review on it? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOT: There are a lot of new Promo-Priced items online again today. I've updated the list here.
ReplyDeleteThanks FFM, so helpful to scan through and see the new promos. I decided to buy the BIENNIAL MEDIUM SATCHEL in Black since it went on promo, I have admired this bag for a long time. Also a No. 2 Pencil showed up in MARRAKECH PURPLE in my size. I was in my B&M yesterday and they did not have the TOOTHPICK JEAN IN YARN-DYED DENIM in Timeless Turquoise yet but they were on sale online, so threw them in bag too to try. Nothing final sale which is good.
DeleteHi Ladies:
ReplyDeleteAnyone see or tried on the Sosie top/blouse in stores yet? I love the purple color.
I'm wondering if its running as big as the Sera top (which looks to be the sleeveless version of it), which a few reviews around blogland have mentioned.
Hi Michelle. The Sosie runs TTS. I bought the white - it is well made but very sheer.
DeleteTo Unknown- the Tohomas Mason shirts are great! I bought one on sale and am very pleased. IT is 100% cotton but washes like a "no iron" shirt. I don't like the " no-iron" shirts b/c the fabric ( probably b/c of the poly content) feels itchy. These have a nice, somewhat crisp hand and seems to hold their shape better than any others. They still look crisp and not wrinkly by the end of the day. Definitely worth it
ReplyDeleteOT - I was cleaning out our storage and found some old purses. In one of the purses I found a NWT Crewlet camel/gold herringbone Aline skirt from holiday 2005! Funny thing is my SIL gave me her exact skirt (exact same size!). :)
ReplyDeleteOn another note, thanks to those with chimed in on the stadium duffle in deep violet. I received it and love it! :)
Has anyone tried the Tybee sandals?
ReplyDeleteI'm not planning to head to a B&M store but was going to place an order online today. Should've done it yesterday. Apparently, several of the Spring 2013 Tippi's and Tippi Cardigans that applied to the 30% off the last two days now no longer apply today so J.Crew just lost my sale. I am not ordering any of the sweaters I wanted until they are at a sale price. Bummer for me but I guess more money in my pocket...for now at least.
ReplyDeleteYes, I noticed that too. I got the heather turquoise and navy tippi the other day on sale, and when I went to look more more colors today I noticed both are back to full price. I hate these sale games.
DeleteWent to the factory store today and got the lobster sweater for 40% off original price plus 10% everything in store for the President's day weekend.
ReplyDeleteWoo! Scored the Everly Calf-Hair pumps for $250 - 30% off, grabbing them for under $200! Thanks Gigi and FFM for your updated promo lists, they are super helpful. :) And thanks Alexis too!!!
ReplyDeleteGo, Roxy! Deals feel so good ;)
DeleteI was in the NYC Rockefeller Center store on Friday and there were quite a few of the Jules dresses in the scroll and botanical print. I didn't get a chance to look at sizes, but there were so many of them I'm guessing there had to be a nearly full size run of each.
ReplyDeleteSaw the botanical Jules at Michigan ave. Chicago but it was not on sale.
DeleteIf anyone is looking for the Wide Cashmere Scarf, Michigan Ave in Chicago had them in black, white and nickel. Sale section location. Hth!
ReplyDeleteBought double cloth funnel coat in bright purple, tippi cardigan in lemon pulp, and boyfriend shirt in strawberry mint. Any one have the funnel coat? How do you like it? I bought it sight unseen so I am a bit nervous, especially since it was on final sale.
ReplyDeleteP.s. anyone have or seen the bright purple funnel coat? How is the color? Is it more blue or more purple? Keeping my fingers crossed that I like it.....
DeleteMuch love for the Funnel coat over here. Got in it the mint color a few weeks back and now my sis, mum and aunt all own one. There is something about this coat that makes me feel instantly more sophisticated. Could be its streamlined silhouette. I usually wear mine sans belt. And the mint color works wonders with my skin tone. Every time that I wear this coat I get tones of compliments. The best part?, the amazing price that I picked it up for. Do review the purple when you recieve it. I've been contemplating getting that color too.

DeleteJust saw that too. Of course, I placed an order today maybe look to re-order for the additional discount.
DeleteP.S. Sale is now 40% off AND Free ship on any order.
DeleteI'm re-ordering some stuff now too. Jeez shopping shouldn't be so frustrating.
DeleteI called and got a PA for the difference, they were very nice. Hate to have to get the shipment and then do the returns so this was easier.
DeleteI just called now and they agreed to do the price adjustment as a "1 time courtesy." They were nice but why do they need to note that it is a courtesy? Isn't it better for them to do the adjustment instead of dealing with all the returns?
DeleteI just re-ordered my item, and will return the one that's already on its way to me. Just didn't want to hassle w/calling CS and begging for an adjustment.
DeleteD*Ska
DeleteThanks for your input on the funnel coat. Mind my asking what your skin tone is. I always wondered how mint color would look on most people since it looks so washed out. I have yellow undertone so I have a hard time finding pastel colors that work.
Also, I've seen many of your posts on this blog and I think you should start y our own blog. You have great ideas and seem to have flawless style. I would definitely follow you.
Sure bella. I'm black but since I too have a serious yellow undertone, I'm hard pressed to find colors that match me. Think somewhere between Beyonce and Kerry Washington, only yellower. The joy of being from a Caribbean island I guess. Yellow is my favorite color and I can barely wear it. That said, I think my more olive complexion works well with the pastels, especially that mint tone. I'm sure a fashion know-it-all will tell you about contrast and what-not but I just know what works for me through trial and error. A lot of errors in the neutral department. lol.
DeleteAs for the blog, I have entertained it at the insistence of my friends and family but I'm still in the just contemplating phase. Thank you for the kind words. Though I consider my style far fom flawless, I always try to have fun with it, otherwise what's the point?!
had some trouble with the free shipping part, called the order in & they honored it. Yey!
ReplyDeleteAnn Arbor,MI had 2 excursion vests today. Red (XS) and pink (S). One black bow coat (0 I think).
ReplyDeleteGood morning from Oslo! J Crew has increased from 30% to 40% off final sale (code: style40) on their website. Not sure if there has been/will be en update to the inventory but worth checking out!
ReplyDeleteShop with the Sale Irl Pic Guide. I have some measurements on there as well, incl the denim vest that's on promo.
