"Thanks!" to IRL (in this post), who let us know that Madewell is introducing their own catalog. To request a catalog, click HERE. It's a great move for them, and I hope they offer an online version as well.
Madewell is also offering for free shipping (no min! any order!) with YESPLEASE. This offer ends Wednesday, August 31, 2011.
Will you be adding your name to the Madewell catalog list? Are you excited they will have their own dedicated catalog?
Yes and Yes! I already keep the double-sided paper inserts sent with their shipments. Any add'l styling help I can get w/o going out of my way is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI requested it; so excited! But I am trying not to get my hopes up since I NEVER get J.Crew catalogs no matter how many times I request them.
ReplyDeleteI actually haven't bought any Madewell clothes, but I'm inspired to check it out with this new catalog.
ReplyDeleteQuestion to JCAs who are regular Madewell wearers - how would you describe the line to a newbie?
I signed up for my catalog at the end of last month but haven't gotten one yet. I'm hoping they start sending them out soon. :)
ReplyDeleteYep, requested one weeks ago. I can't wait to see it. I haven't tried any of their clothes yet, but have been soooo tempted. I'd love to know others' thoughts on sizing, quality, too.
ReplyDeletea lot of madewell's shirt is oversized fit, which means you have to size down. I am a size 4-6 in jcrew, but I bought madewell shirt in XS and S, expecially their silk blouses. The chambray shirt is not well made as jcrew imo and runs huge too.
ReplyDeleteSkirt is more consistent in sizing than shirt/top, runs tts or runs large.
Sweater runs tts to large, so do tees and knits. I actually never sized up in madewell.
Shoes are tts most of the time, love the sandstorm boots, wish they had little platform though...
As a graduate student, my style is very casual, easy and comfortable and I rarely need to dress up, so I shop much more often at Madewell compared to J.Crew. I have always preferred a more relaxed/loose fit, so to me, Madewell runs tts. If you prefer a more fitted look then you may want to size down, except for in their layering Ts which I find are more snug already. Pants definitely run tts. I find the quality to be generally quite high though it varies a bit and the relative original price is usually a good indication of this. The sale prices are often amazing. Overall I recommend their Ts and knits, which are a great deal on sale and usually cheaper than J.Crew for about the same quality nowadays. Shoes are essentially the same as J.Crew. Have not experienced the denim yet (other than their jean shorts which I love because they're cool and relaxed looking without being too short), but I have had excellent experience with their trousers. The one cashmere item I recently got seems to be almost of higher quality than recent J.Crew cashmere.
ReplyDeleteQuick note on customer service: it's great! Recently an item in my order was cancelled (first time that happened) and someone from customer service called me to apologize and ask if there was anything else I wanted at no shipping charge.
Sorry for the rant, hope that helps somewhat! I may be able to answer any more specific Q's if there are any.
Thanks, Rebekah and Jessie. The info on sizing is really helpful. I'm considering trying the Paisley Moon top. I see the smallest size they have is xs so I can't size down, but I love paisley prints.
