ReplyDeleteNo. I am boycotting J.Crew until the overseas price gouging is fixed.
ReplyDeleteDoes it make sense that a final sale item is waitlisted until November 29th? I ordered the Moonbeam sequined blazer and had it sent to a relative in the US. Throughout the order process there was no mention of it being waitlisted, but only on the email with the order confirmation.

ReplyDeleteNot paying for shipping Jcrew - I don't care how low the shipping charge is.
ReplyDeletewould love to know how the durham fit is in the suiting pants
ReplyDeleteWhere's the free shipping? I'm sitting this one out unless I see my elusive cashmere sweater dress pop back..
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, the MUSTSHOP doesn't work for Canadians trying to ship to a US address! I tried several times to place my order and the promo code would not work. Then, on a suspicion that this was because I was using my US mailing address, I switched it to my Canadian home address and voila, the promo code worked. This might be a computer glitch, but if it is, it stinks - and it feels like J. Crew is trying to force this price hike down Canadian's throats. I had to call CS to place my order and get it shipped to my US address!!
ReplyDeleteLouise Oh No! How frustrating. It's bad enough you have to send it to the US.
ReplyDeleteI really hope they deal with this situation and soon.
Nope. Won't be shopping this final sale.
ReplyDeletehow much luck have you guys had in the past getting J. Crew to price-adjust previous purchases? Like, say I placed an order last Thursday on a FS item (even though I KNEW a promo code was probably forthcoming, grrrrr) would they go back and apply the 30% off and give me a price adjustment since it was only a few days ago?
ReplyDeletesub
ReplyDeleteI added a couple items to my cart until I realized there was no free shipping. No thanks. Louise, that's so frustrating!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately free shipping on promos like these is probably a thing of the past with the new flat rate shipping. Makes me sad. I will definitely be sitting this one out.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if anyone can comment on the fit of the stripe breaker sweater. I'm thinking of sizing down from my usual medium to small since xxsmall is an option. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried the Heather Popover Hoodie Item 44690? Wondering about fit...does it run large?
ReplyDelete@Claire - Unfortunately I have never had luck with getting a price adjustment for orders placed more than one day ago. I have only had luck getting price adjustments for orders placed within 1 day of the promo starting.
ReplyDeleteI think there IS free shipping on $150 (after discount). I placed an order of $190 this morning and shipping was free, and after reading your comments, I just tried varying amounts and it seems that free shipping is applied with a $150 minimum. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteAudreys and fellow JCAs... The email I received states that there is free shipping on orders of $175+ with MUSTSHOP, in addition to the 30% off. I forwarded the email to Alexis.
ReplyDeleteYes, I got free shipping with an order of $188 as a subtotal, after the 30% applied.
ReplyDeleteI ended up spending way more than I wanted, but some items are on promo and I am trying the perfect fit shirt in classic stripes, the dream open cardi in black, and I got a cashmere teeshirt for myself and a white linen shirt for my son. I really wanted to scoop up dresses, shoes and jewelry but those sections are pretty cleaned out by now.

ReplyDeleteThanks Louise, I sent them an email just in case. I'm not super optimistic, but it was worth a shot!
ReplyDeleteI think there's more than one issue with the website -- quelle surprise! -- so I'm sitting this one out. I wish I could say it's 100% protest, but there's also a "just had it already" component as well. Some further thoughts on the international trade situation on my blog
ReplyDeleteJust noticed another weird issue with the web site. The dream alexie sweater from last winter is back on the web site, but at full price. Just to check availability, I put in my size and the red alert popped up that it was a final sale item. Final sale for a full priced item on popback? I'll pass.

ReplyDeleteMarietta, you are right! I entered the MUSTSHOP promo on the checkout page, and for a $153 (after discount) fake order, and shipping was reduced from $8.95 to $0, but then on the actual payment page, the $8.95 was added back. So $175 minimum it is!
ReplyDeleteYeppers, I did a decent little bundle of damage at about 1:30 am. And I didn't pay anything for shipping as my order was over $175. Will be interested to see if stock is refreshed over the next few days.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried the Maddie pant in Italian cotton (item 44073)? If they are truly worth the $295 FP (but really, what actually is worth FP?), then that's a bargain at $49 after the code. Any reviews?

ReplyDeleteMeh. Even if I weren't actively trying not to buy because of the Canada/UK situation, there's too much stuff that's been languishing in sale purgatory for too long (the Arrow is on popback for $90? Really, J. Crew?), and the promos at Gap/BR/ON and Lands End right now are better deals with free shipping available.
ReplyDeleteNah, nothing for me. The shine is off the apple for now, until they address the int'l price gouging and convince me I should give them my shopping $ vs. the other retailers who are treating their customers much better.
ReplyDeleteI ordered two sweaters from the sale section this morning for Christmas presents and now they are back up to full price. So weird, J Crew.
ReplyDeleteThe new shipping charge is $8.95 flat, free over $175. That seems like it will be the default shipping charge from now on. I don't think the free ship over $175 is part of this particular promo.
ReplyDeleteMaryMoo--I love the Durham fit in the wool gab suiting trousers. I'm a curvy size 8 and find that they are TTS with the legs skimming my hips nicely--the first time I wore my navy ones, I received a couple "have you lost weight?" comments at work. I did bite and snagged the black in the FS.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside, the 30% off also worked for the non-final sale mixed tape cardigan I had in my order cart.
Louise, I had no problem using the US address on file on my account, so it may be just a computer glitch.
ReplyDeleteClaire, I got the adjustment, and didn't have to beg! I placed my order on Thursday during the big update that morning! It's out for delivery today and I've got an extra $50 in my pocket, woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteAppGal and others: I placed an order this morning with MUSTSHOP and my total was over $175. The free ship was applied automatically. Until I got my cart above that minimum, it was showing up with the $8.95 flat rate ship charge.
ReplyDeleteNO ordering sale without free shipping. I forget who said it but they totally called it on the no more free shipping offers with this flat rate thing. Blech.
ReplyDeleteOT - but I finally started a blog. Just posted some new J Crew arrivals and some anthro try-ons. Please stop by!

I just bought the lovely mirabel shorts - could anyone do a review of them?
ReplyDeleteYay @anything_but_full_price that gives me hope! Haven't had a reply to my email yet but I'm crossing my fingers....
ReplyDeletememtex - Stripebreaker sweater Shop With M
ReplyDeleteiheartjcrew - Mirabel shorts on Audreybella.
Nothing for me. I am still waiting for a nice % off promo on non-final sale items and/or the addition of some new items to the sale section.
ReplyDeleteFrugalprepster- the Maddie pants ran HUGE on me and very long and I usually take a 34" inseam. Very unflattering and back they went. HTH
ReplyDeletememtex, I am usually always a medium in JC sweaters, but this year the smalls have been a better fit and I found that to be true also for the stripe breaker sweater.
ReplyDeleteThe only item I would order is the lady lace sweater, but it was gone in my size. If it comes back in, then I'll order and add something in order to get free shipping.
OT: If anyone has purchased the in-store only Paisley scarf (in the same print as the pencil skirt), I found a striped tee at Zara that looks really cute with it. I just posted pics here on my blog .

ReplyDelete@ LizPoms -- have the heather popover, a bit short in the length, but true to size otherwise....hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteBindi - thanks! I ended up ordering them but knew it was a gamble. Hopefully if they are too large, I can tailor them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Claire and anything_but_full_price! I, too, placed a FS order on Thursday with two popbacks in it. After reading your posts, I e-mailed and requested a price adjustment. J. Crew just responded that they are issuing a credit for the 30% difference. That is such great customer service! Guess this belongs in the 'JC Love' thread, but I was excited and wanted to say thanks ;)
ReplyDeleteWendy

Coastline-stripe tee

OT: For those who were interested in the Madewell Widelegger Jeans, they are marked at $79.50 right now with Free shipping and Free Returns.
ReplyDeleteThe new flat rate shipping is upsetting. I loved getting final sale items on the cheap with free shipping. It made it a little more palatable if something didn't work out.
ReplyDeleteI also hate how they fixed whatever the odd "glitch" was where you could enter more than one more promo code. I was able to do that several times in July/early August to get free ship and a percentage discount. Bummer.
Wendy and Anything_but_fullprice, what did you guys say in the email to get the price adjustment? I called CS first and then I sent an email and I was told no both times :( I wonder why they would give it to some people and not others...Claire, did you hear back yet?
ReplyDeleteMilly, I didn't say anything special, just asked
ReplyDeleteIf they could honor the extra % off. What day did you place your order?
I placed the order on Thursday morning, when they updated the sale section. I still haven't received the shipment. That's too bad. I was feeling guilty about how much I spent, the additional 30% off would've made me feel so much better! Maybe I'll email them again...
ReplyDeleteI just got my lemon pulp featherweight cashmere cardigan and used the fall reward card on it. I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I'm drawn to JCG's citron type colors, and I thought my skin color wasn't right for it. But I just know I feel good in them, LOL.
Well I have searched and it finally payed off...I got the Casbah bathing suit. This one is a safe bet for me because I have the exact same suit in a different pattern. I am just so in love with the Casbah that I couldn't help it :)
