This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

ReplyDeleteMUSTSHOP gets 30% off final sale thru Thu, 8/25.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the flat-rate shipping of $8.95 IS really replacing the free shipping the usually comes with the extra %off promos.. At least I can say goodbye to tag along items.
ReplyDeleteiroar - The flat rate *does* seem to be replacing the fs included w/promos. I thought I'd like it, but I'm not sure I do. Sitting out this promo for the time being. As usual, there's nothing I 'need" and nothing in particular giving me the feeling.

ReplyDelete(oops)
ReplyDelete...yeah, it used to be you had to order a minimum of $214 or to get free shipping on a net $150 or more. Now you have to order a minimum of $250 to get a net subtotal of $175 for free shipping. That is if you're ordering only final sale items with the promo code.
I have, and have reviews in 2 posts here.
ReplyDeleteI behaved ALL WEEKEND but as I suspected, there goes extra 30% off, arrgggh. I am weak. I splurged on a few items I'd been stalking for a while, including the Schoolboy in herringbone and eyelet, as well as the Playa paisley bikini.
ReplyDeleteOf note: still some lady lace popovers in stock (Large, gray and black) and a few Arrow sweaters back from the dead. Swimwear stock seems very patchy; still, I had to really control myself and try to choose carefully based on what I thought would sell out before the next markdowns.
Have fun y'all! Happy Monday. :)
I went Friday evening and finally got to try on the Hacking Jacket. Love the longer length and overall fit. This one is definitely better made than the Schoolboy. The size 0 fit me well, so it looks like I will be exchanging my size 2 that is on the way.
ReplyDeleteThe Merino pleated skirt was rather disappointing in person and not worth full-price, IMHO. Same thing with the Blythe shirt dress, although the Poppy color is very pretty IRL.
The Dream Ribbed yoga cardigan is so cute on and very comfortable, as well. I definitely want at least one, but knowing how the dream sweaters pill, I will be waiting for sale.
There was a small sale section with Ikat Perfect shirts, some tees, a Souvenir dress in size 10, and a scarf with stars on it in blue and red.
I also stopped by the Factory store since it is just down the road from retail. They had a lot of new fall arrivals, including a factory version of the Prince of Wales Schoolboy for $188 (I think or else $198) with an additional 20% off. The feel of the jacket was not too different from the retail version, and the factory one actually has a better fit. I took the size 0...same as the other schoolboys there in dark charcoal and a light beige/camel color.
The Lexington also fit me well in a size 0. It was $178 with 20% off. The fabric felt ok, not full-price ok though, and the buttons were cheap looking.
The graphic tees were marked 40% off and the Jackie cardigans were 30% off. The factory version of the double-serge pencil skirts were pretty nice. They were lined and not to far off from the quality of those at retail.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Factory version of the Stadium-cloth Milo Peacoat. I reviewed the retail version here last year. The factory version is almost identical in color, fully lined, and the fabric does not feel cheap at all. It is priced at $198 with an additional 30% off. I seriously contemplated getting it, (and I am not one to normally like the factory coats). The size 2 fit me well, and that is the same size I took in the retail version. If I needed to layer under I would size up one though.
There is also a peacoat in a camel color (which is actually online now) and the quality is not good at all. Defintely not worth full-price and even sale price is questionable.
The factory wool trousers are also nice, not to mention fully lined. I think they were $98 with an additional 30% off.
Just FYI, I placed an order this morning with the MUSTSHOP promotion and got free shipping on an order of $190 after discount. Not sure what the minimum was... maybe the $175 FS that was in place recently?
ReplyDeleteI got free shipping too and my order was a little over 175, so the limit must be 175. Got the Beaumont blazer, the Rowboat dress, the Lady Lace popover and a ride-along. Hope everything ships! Better to shop online this time around as the sale sections in stores (I went yesterday) are dismal.
ReplyDeleteI went to return some online orders. Didn't get to browse since I had my family tag along. However, I did try on the schoolboy blazer in wool flannel and as I was trying to button, the top one fell off. Poor workmanship for a $188 blazer.
ReplyDeleteIs the vent of the Hacking blazer laying flat for anyone? It doesn't for me even when I size up. I am wondering if I should give up or try the on in another color.
ReplyDeleteTIA.
@Elaine. Can you commment on the fit of the Playa? I am so confused on the swim sizing this year that I don't know what to order? I am a 4 in Minnie Pants and a 0-2 in tops. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI had to return a vintage cotton tee that developed a hole after just washing it for the 1st time - I never wore it. It was a final sale color but the SA took it back no problem.
ReplyDeleteHey Sarah, I will -- just as soon as it arrives, which should be in just a few days. This is my first experience with a JC swimsuit bottom in XL, a size that used to only be available here and there but which now appears to be de rigeur, which is great! So we shall see how that goes. Sometimes the Lg bottom is still just a *bit* too tight on me, so I took a chance and sized up. Dun dun dunnnnnnnn :P
ReplyDeleteFFM, were the factory No. 2's wool or wool-blend? And do you remember what colors they had?
ReplyDeleteFFM, I'm also curious too what colors the factory have?
ReplyDeleteI'm about done with playing this inventory game with the pencil skirts! Yesterday, the Jazzy Purple didn't even show up online. Now it is back up, but back to a ship date in October for my size and out of stock I guess for the 6p. Grrr!! The green is now pushed back too for petites.
Anyone have another place to get nice, colorful skirts? BR is mine go to, but no pretty colors right now. :(
Sorry for the rant..

ReplyDeleteBellisima and Txgirl14: I called the Factory store to check on the skirts. The CSR I spoke to said there are 2 different versions, one is a 70% Wool/30% Nylon blend with a 100% Acetate lining. The other is a 70% Wool/30% Viscose blend with the same acetate lining. The wool/nylon is item #47095 and the wool/viscose is item #46575. They are normally $89.50 but are on sale right now for $79.50. The colors are grey, a burgundy-ish purple, and a deep green, which she described as forest. She also said it's possible they will get in more colors since this is only the first part of the fall roll out there. HTH!
ReplyDeleteDeleting and reposting because of horrific spelling mistakes :/
ReplyDeleteMy local Factory store had Merino Ruffled Strata Cardis, the retail ones, in olive, light pink and black for $39.97 on the clearance rack plus 30% off. I had never given this item a second look online but after seeing and trying it, I purchased the olive and may go back for more. They had quite a few in all sizes.
Thanks FFM. That does help :)
ReplyDeleteThank you FFM! My nearest crewlet is a couple of hours away, but I now might plan a trip next month if they have decent wool-blend skirts and (gasp!) lined trousers.
ReplyDeleteI also bought a merino strata in olive at my Factory store. I was really surprised to stumble upon them! Glad to add one more as I love them. The store had multiple colors in each size.
ReplyDeleteJ.CrewJD - The ruffled strata was a sleeper at retail & online. I got one in a mist color from the b&m, irl pic. Olive sounds nice.
