20% OFF all women's tees and knits. 3 days only.

"Thanks!" to many of you, including IRL & Lizzy T (in this post), as well as Marietta, Irina, & Desert Flower, who let us know the following promotion.

J.Crew is offering 20% off on select full-priced Women's tees (click here to shop online). This offer expires August 15, 2010. The fine print of the offer includes:
Prices as marked. Offer excludes Saint James® and cannot be redeemed for cash or applied to previous purchases. Offer valid in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew Factory stores. Offer valid through Sunday, August 15, 2010, 11:59pm ET.
Some knits on sale include the Jaspé Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt (Item 21197; $150.00, now $120.00). Who wouldn't want to buy this {over-glorified} sweatshirt now that it is $30 less? I am getting two! ;) In all seriousness though, there are some good pieces on sale like the Stripe Pocket Tee (Item 29454; $39.50, now $31.60). :)

Much like the last few times (for knits & tees), I am loving that this offer is automatically applied (no need to input a code). Although this time, they are *not* throwing in free shipping with this offer. Ah well! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you planning to get. Please share! :)

  1. OT-I got a free shipping code for Banana Republic that I won't use-MK6TDY8KLTJD.

  2. I put the side-zip sweatshirt in my bag in that strange grey color. I can't look at their tees anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  3. No thank you! The tees are all the same these days, and without free shipping, it's silly of them to even ask :)

Pathos: hope you like your zip-side sweatshirt...I love mine in the darker color! It's strangely flattering!

  4. I would have bitten with free shipping but at least the fine print says that this promo is valid in stores too.

  5. Alexis, I am cracking up at your description of the Jaspé Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt. Have to admit though that I LOVE the look of it. Too bad the sequins looked inconsistent in real life, or else I probably would be pulling the trigger as we speak. ;)

  6. where oh where is a free shipping code?

  7. Nothing for me without free shipping. I'll wait for further markdowns.

  8. I have a shopping cart with a lot of stuff I need to order. I won't break down w/o a code J Crew. Hint, hint...

  9. Nothing I want right now. My shopping cart is empty!!!!

  10. OT: L.L.Bean is offering FREE SHIPPING/NO MINIMUM on any order until December 20th.

  11. Thanks, FFM. Does any one know if there are any coupon codes for LL Bean Signature? I want a pair of shoes, but want a discount :)

  12. Does anyone kow if a store would honor the lower price on an knit item that I bought online (full price) but haven't worn (still has tags)? I bought the sailor stripe open cardigan a while back and haven't worn it yet. However, with shipping factored in, in would not be worth it to return and reorder at the lower price (it would actually cost me more, even I returned the first one to the B&M rather than mailing back.

  13. Is this promotion also going on in stores? I think some of my perfect fit tees have seen better days and could stand to be replaced.

If you're on Lands' End's mailing list, check your e-mails. There's a 25% off plus free shipping promotion this weekend that is also valid with Lands' End Canvas. I already ordered three more heritage cardis in fall colors and the burgundy wingtips that were on back order but are now in stock. I love these cardis. I size down one size from my JCrew size and they're perfect.

  14. Jeanne -
What is the sale code for the Lands End/Canvas? Mine is 25% off of kids.
    Thanks!

  15. txmom - I think adjustments are within 7 days. The 7 day count begins with your ship date on online orders. I have only had one situation where it applied to me and was able to get an adjustment via email for an online order. I guess you could ask your store. I haven't tried that personally.

  16. Lizzy, I assumed everyone on the LE mailing list received the code, but apparently not. I'd post mine here but it's already used. Maybe someone else has one they aren't going to use?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thanks, Jeanne. Sorry, I didn't realize it was one per person. Thanks for the info. I'm going to contact LE and see if I can get one!

  18. How about a free ship code J.Crew? I've been trained to order only when the shipping is comped. Was definitely hoping for a different promo on things I actually want but might throw in some tissue turtlenecks and perfect-fit cardis. If I can find a free ship code, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  19. LOL, xoxo, I have also been trained to order only with free shipping.

Lizzy, I usually receive LE promtions at two different e-mail addresses, but I checked the second e-mail and nada.

  20. I see two belts I want pretty badly but they're just over what I want to pay because of the dumb shipping charges! Ugh! Grrr.

  21. Weird thing, I just called the Northpark store in Dallas, and they said they are not running this sale because website and stores don't run the same promotions so I told them that in the website says offer valid also in store, the SA was not buying it and told me that I have to print it out and bring it with me so they can honor it. Hopefuly it will work.

  22. Can anyone ID the (bronzed twig/spicy olive/golden mustard??) colored pants the model is wearing here with the lace tee?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I have the Jaspé Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt, and I love it! I got it in the metallic color, the sequins look great, and are stitched pretty solidly in place. I purchased it on promo months ago, but I do happen to think this is worth the FP.

As for the tee promo, no thanks JC. I have not purchased any of their embellished tees in over two years, they are just not my style, and the poor quality does not justify the price tag, IMO.

  24. Lizzy, I normally receive email promos from LE but I haven't received any emails from them since Aug 2. I called (looking for the 25% off) and CS turned me over to their technical group. Apparently they had an email issue and I'll start receiving promos again in 7-10 business days. I've responded requesting the 25% off but if you didn't receive anything, it might be worth your time to call since they seem to be having issues.
I'm disappointed as I have been waiting for a promotion like this for about a month now...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Caroline - Thanks for the idea for CS w/ LE. I spoke to CS via chat and they told me the only promo was 25% off kids. I'll give them a call.

  26. I went to the store today and the discount was reflected automatically at checkout. Did not need to ask. I got the stipe pocket tee and sailor-stripe always cardigan.

  28. I am getting the side zip sweatshirt after seeing all the wonderful reviews. I am also getting the perfect fit mixed tape cardi in dark rosewood to wear with my stone colored chino capris. I absolutely love that color (dark rosewood).

    ReplyDelete
  29. txmom: If you take it back to the store with tags on it you can just return it and rebuy it immediately if they won't price adjust. I have a top like that but decided it wasn't worth all the effort and driving (30 min each way) for $10.

  30. 20% off tees? I just washed one of my art tees for the first time (inside out, in a lingerie bag, on delicate cycle, did not put in dryer). HOLE. Jeez.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Rose--thanks, I was wondering the same. Does anyone own a pair of these pants? are they a nice weight or are they too thin?

    thanks

    ReplyDelete
  32. Speaking of LE-guess what I got from them today?

The dreaded "one time courtesy" line!!!

Oh no, say it isn't so!!!

Do you think maybe the CS rep was a JC customer who forgot where she was for moment??? I can only hope!

    ReplyDelete
  33. gigiofca and js, thanks for the advice. I am heading to the mall tomorrow to take advantage of the Gap 40% off coupon, so maybe I will just stop at Jc and inquire about price adjustment or the return/rebuy! Thanks again!

  34. I just bought the striped pocket tee in olive (LOVE! TTS) 2 days ago and went into the store this morning for a price adjustment. Easy peasy - no questions asked. The stores did not have any signs about the promo, but it was automatically reflected on the receipt.

  38. I just checked the website Rose provided and a code for FREE SHIPPING is WGM72A.

It looks like it will work....

    Enjoy!

  40. The Free Ship code worked for me.

Thank you Rose and Crew Cricket!! Much appreciated. :^)

  41. OT, but I found the gilded jacquard pencil skirt (26343) in my B&M this morning for $9.99! Unbelievable! I almost fainted. It was the only one, and somehow I shimmied into it ... I'm over the moon!

So I thought I'd get away with only spending $10, but alas. I was crewsin' by the jewelry case and the most gorgeous pair of Ray-Bans caught my eye. I've been needing new Rx sunglasses, and I wanted an aviator-type frame but not too big, and not so draggy-downy on my face, which is already on the long side ... There they WERE at JC!

    So they're Ray-Ban Caravans
(19363) and at $125, they're about half the cost of most frames I've bought in the past.

I am so STOKED. I just can't believe my luck. And I can't wait to get these fitted with Rx lenses! I might even go back and buy an extra pair. I have a really hard time finding frames I like.

I'm sad to let my beautiful Chanel frames go (anyone interested? they're gorgeous!), but my eye dr. said she wanted to see me with sunglasses that covered more of my eye. Yes ma'am!

Mark this day on your calendar, kids. Elaine bought something from JC at full price. LOL. Maybe now I will get some peached. ROFL!

  42. Also, DAMN, wish I'd checked this thread this morning for a free ship code. :-/ I had those belts I wanted in my cart and decided to go on and get them this morning -- I have a hard time finding belts I like too, lol -- so I had to bail out a bunch of stuff from my cart. Just could not see paying so much extra for my order due to the high ship charge.

Ended up with 2 belts and a popback slub tee, the long-sleeved one with the silk ruffled placket from last year -- I'd won one on eBay recently and loved it, so when I saw the white one come back, I snatched it up. And maybe a little too fast -- didn't realize it was $29.99. YOWZA. I think I thought it was $19.99.

Ah well. It's already been released. ...

  43. Thanks, Rose! Wish they were full length..it is hard to wear crops for too long as Fall is brief and this color screams Fall..very pretty!

Elaine--you are so funny. You bring such a great spunk to the blog and I love reading about your almost daily;) run-ins with the Crew:)

  44. Thanks tons for the free shipping code! Worked great this morning!

  45. Sweetsy -- LOL. I know. I have a problem. I wish I didn't like clothes. I'd truly be rolling in wads and wads of cash. The only thing I might like better than clothes is a good DEAL on clothes! :-)

I figure y'll must get sick of my prattle now and then, but I just got so excited about those glasses today I almost popped!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Elaine, please don't feel bad about loving clothes so much because then I will have to! It's not like I wear the trends but I follow it all. I watch the shows online and I have a stack of the September magazines that weighs as much as a car. And if you want to know what's in the shows, pay attention to the J. Crew catalog. There's Rag and Bone, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, several in fact. I'm seeing those MacAlister wedge boots made by at least five or six designers and Chloe's are $850. I have no idea why it's so much fun to read about all this but it is!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thank you so much for the free shipping code.

I was able to get some 20% off t's as well as some items that popped back in for FS.

  48. Just FYI, I took my Sailor stripe cardigan with tags still intact (purchased 7/15 online ) to my b&M this am. They were very nice and honored a price adjustment since I could have (as suggested by JS) returned it and then rebought it or return and reorder via red phone (since it was on Promotion, rather than sale). Maybe that's going to extremes, but the mall JC is only 5 minutes from my house and it was an $8.50 credit for something I haven't even worn yet! Would have been more expensive to return to the B&M and then reorder online (as they don't have them in the store any longer!).

Texas has a tax free weekend coming up next week and I have a few things on my wishlist to buy with my rewards card. Does anyone own the Bootcut jeans in the Dance off wash? I tried these on a few days ago just to have something to go with the tops I was really after....and fell in love with them! They are so soft! But for $108! So, at least my rewards card and no tax would soften the blow!

  49. Thanks ladies! The free shipping code worked for me too! So glad I checked here this morning. YAY! A couple of popbacks (hopefully they WILL arrive) that I have been waiting for!

  50. Corry,

Such a shame. I think great customer service is now going to be a thing of the past. That one time courtesy line is not a one time thing with LE; had the same experience recently....AND I have had nothing but GOOD GOOD GOOD to say about LE over the MANY years I have shopped them...something like 23 years now...Well, anyway, I think their customer service just recently took a nose dive. I actually reported them to the BBB and I thought I would NEVER do that!

LLBean is the only company that is still consistenly fabulous IMO:)

    ReplyDelete
  51. I don't think I'll be getting anything, but does anyone happen to own the washed canvas tote? I have it in black, and it gets so easily dirty I feel. How do you keep it clean?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Genny - what happened with LE if you don't mind me asking? I also think that customer service is starting to decline (along with quality) all over.

    ReplyDelete
  53. the side zip sweatshirt went from 39.99 to 52.00! how silly! anyone notice?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Trying to explain in a nutshell and not go on and on but basically they sent me several defective scarves from the overstocks section. I swear I ordered a bunch and about 5 had holes or big snags! Well, then I had trouble getting my refund from them when I returned the defective ones to the stores. It was a huge mess and they still owe me money and their customer service rep/financial rep won't return my emails or calls. So I went to a third party....

  55. I bit on the Vintage Bateau top in camel. I've been wanting it for awhile, and it was finally back in stock in my size. I really hesitated since there was no free shipping. I got a pair of pants as a ride-along to use the free shipping on $150 code. I really hope the top fits! I've heard that it runs big, and I'm on the small side of XS :/

    ReplyDelete
  56. I bought the sequined sweatshirt at FP (I had an occaision for which it would be perfect)and I love it. I can't wait until the Carolina heat cools so i can wear it to someplace other than the bookstore.

    ReplyDelete
  57. MDPA, you will NOT regret the vintage bateau top, even at full price. I have the gray and the camel and adore them both; they've already paid for themselves many times over. The top does run just the slightest bit big. I bought my usual size and it's not so huge I'm swimming it or anything like that. Just a slightly looser fit. I think you'll be fine. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  58. I agreed with Elaine's comments about the vintage bateau top. It's a great piece. I wear the dark pewter and the pink all time time (well, when it's not 100 degrees). You will love it!
