J.Crew Email: UP TO 40% OFF final sale & new styles added, in stores and online.

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Marietta, Desert Flower, & Ketan, who let us know about J.Crew's latest email.

J.Crew is announcing that even more new styles have been added to their Final Sale (click here to shop online) with prices up to 40% off! This offer also extends to brick & mortar stores. Too bad it is *not* an additional 40% off sale prices though. That would have been a-m-a-z-i-n-g. :)

This morning there was quite an update to the Final Sale section too. A lot of pop-backs from a few years ago like the Crystal Starfish Necklace (Item 95453; $75.00, now $49.99) too. Although, by the time I checked it out there was nothing but ghost-pages left (the item page showed no stock left) for those items.

Will you be checking out the Final Sale? Any new styles interest you? If so, please share! :)

  1. Same here, saw there was an uber-update but mostly ghost pages. The Neapolitan skirt does appear to be available in a 12 though!

  2. Oh drats, I thought it was an additional 40% off, but it is not. :(

  3. the funny thing is - i have been looking for the best/perfect navy blue pants suit for quite awhile now. i went to the jcrew store yesterday and saw a great suit. but i had sticker shock. then behold i get the email announcing the sale on the site. i see that they have a perfect/best nave suit on sale. not sure but it looks quite a lot like the one i saw in the store. but there are no returns on the items on the sale site. would you buy a suit without tryin it on?!?!? any reviews on the city fit pants?

  4. I'm surprised to see some new arrivals on sale already, like the pilar paisley perfect shirt (which I love). Does anyone know if this is really on sale in stores? And are stores still offering an additional % off?

    ReplyDelete
  5. What? How come I didn't get this email? Bahh. Maybe they didn't want me exploiting their discounts again, lol. Too bad, I stayed up and checked at 3am PST and grabbed some goodies, haha.

  6. Pathos,
I too thought this was an additional 40% off. Booo--to the trickery!

  7. I tried on the pilar paisley shirt and was disappointed with the sheerness/thinness of the fabric. It was not on sale at my store and I doubt it is on sale in stores. My best guess would be online only as too new to the stores.

  8. How disappointing! I thought it was 40% off additional as well and loaded up my cart, but now that I see it isn't I will not be buying anything.

  9. I picked up two of the Luxe knit zip cardigan in faded black and soft dove. Think they will be great layering pieces for summer nights and for the fall!

  10. Ladies, what time is web-site updated?

  11. Same here, I thought it was "additional" 40% off...like back in the days.
No shopping for me. This "Final Sale" is a total crap. Sizing is all over the place and I received a tank with the chiffon trim and they are already frayed.
I hate calling CS since they give me the same lame line about final sale being final sale. And the 1 time courtesy has been used up by mentioning the one time return from more than a year ago. {shakes fist!} [sorry for my rant]

  12. Dang it. They got me. After a near perfect no jcrew summer. Canterbury bells sweater, a frances cami in orchid and the khloe came in blush stone. Oy, no more jcrew. NO MORE.

  13. I won't be buying anything from the sale, but it did not stop me from purchasing the new Coddington suede pumps. Thanks to the site owner for putting up the discount code; it worked for me! Yipeee!

Can't wait to have my pretty ruby shoes. Mmmmm....

BTW, does anyone know what the B&M store is like in Syracuse? I live north of the Border in Canada and that is my closest store. Is it worth a 2 hour drive? Just wondering.

    Thanks!
    K

  14. I just don't care to buy on final sale. The sizing issue is one reason, but even if I've tried the item and am fairly certain it will fit, I don't know what I'm going to get and have had problems with worn items or incorrect items. Pass for me.

  15. Lauren, I was in the B&M on Monday night and they had just marked the pilar paisley shirt down to 49.99. No additional % off, though.

Karenina - I'm moving to Syracuse on Saturday! I know they have a store, but I haven't yet been in it. Once I try it I'll let you know! You can send me your email address if you want info. Mine is lolalovesfrank@gmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  16. I just answered my own question by calling my B&M. The pilar paisley perfect shirt is indeed on sale in stores for $49.99, but the % off sale promo has ended. I forgot to ask if items in store were final sale.

By the way, I tried on the pilar shirt last week and really liked it. It didn't seem too sheer to me and the colors were gorgeous. And for some reason, it fit me better than perfect shirts have in the past.

  17. Thanks Kat! I guess we were writing at the same time. Do you remember if sale items in store were final sale?

    ReplyDelete
  18. haha...we must have been! I don't recall seeing any Final Sale signs. I think they only do that in the B&M if there is an additional % off. Good luck!

  19. Hi Kat and Karenina - the Syracuse store is not very big. No shoes, bags, and last time I was there, almost no jewelry. They seemed to have a lot more of the 'basics'. This store seems to be divided more evenly into men's and women's than most.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yep, I got excited for second thinking it was an additional 40% off. It's just as well because I don't see a single thing in the sale section that I want or need.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't see a single sale item I'd want and I don't even see a single full priced item I'd want either.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I noticed all of the jewelry from many many seasons ago online both today and yesterday? What is up with that? Did they find an old box of stuff in the warehouse? It seems odd to me that all of a sudden we see stuff from 2-3 years ago on the site. I worry what kind of condition it is in. I did of course cave and pick up a few popbacks:)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I didn't notice any further reductions on any of the items in my cart (which I just refilled as it was emptied). Nor did I see any reductions on the other items. As for new styles, I'm looking out for the zip sweatshirt in the blue and it isn't marked down online as far as I can see. It also wasn't marked down in the 5th Ave NYC store as of last night.

  24. Yeah, I thought additional! It really should be at this time of year. They have had the same old stuff at too high prices languishing in sale forever.

Interesting they said it was in stores, because my store go rid of all their sale stuff. Must have shipped it out.

  26. I had a gift card so I finally bit on some items, including the paisley perfect shirt.

It is thin and kind of sheer, but I've been loving the fit of those perfect shirts lately and that is a good item to wear now and layer for fall.

  27. brownsugarbaby, do you have an Amex? If so, go online and see if you have the "return protection" benefit, which allows you to return (to amex) for refund anything that is not returnable to the store. It makes shopping Final Sale so much less tragic. If the Navy suit fails, you can file an online claim with Amex. A pain, but at least an option.

  28. Zoryana - the website is updated with new sale items slightly before 2am Pacific time most days. Wednesday mornings are typically a big sale day, and are the day when they send out emails about new sale items. Thursdays are the day when they add new arrivals.

  29. Hi Karenina and Kat,

I have to agree with silverlining. I went to law school in Syracuse and the B&M is not very big at all. Like she said, it is pretty evenly divided, but doesn't have any bags or shoes (and from what I remember, very few dresses). Probably not worth a drive by itself, although Carousel Center has some other good stores.

There's an outlet at the Waterloo shops, about 45 minutes west of Syracuse, just off I-90. I was last there two years ago, but it was a fairly large outlet with good selection.

  30. Just realized that this weekend is TAX FREE weekend, at least in many states. Maybe yours, too! Tax free also applies to items purchased online and shipped to you, as I understand it. Clothing items under $100 count, but no items over that amount (totals don't matter). Our state sales tax is so high that this really is like a coupon sale! I'm wondering, too, if JC will add an additional % off Final Sale b/c retailers often do that to promote the tax-free days.

  31. I saw the pillar paisley shirt just yesterday. I was so excited to try it on...but then was very disappointed by the sheerness of the fabric. I put it back straight away. The clerk asked if I liked it. I said the print yes. The fabric NO-

Maybe if it went down to $19 but definitely not worth the current price of $50. So tired of JCrew's thin fabrics:(

    ReplyDelete
  32. Glad to hear the shirt that Lauren PhD wanted is on sale for her!

I love the print but not the fabric. Too thin and sheer for my tastes. Glad others like it but have to agree with Summer.

  33. Just about gave myself a heartattack when I saw the 40% off... you mean "up t0" 40% off... LOL. Will "window shop" till I get my extra % off plus free ship.

BTW I signed up for emails but I get nothing...NOTHING from JC. They must be reading my rants on this post...then they should read "free ship with lower limit all the time please!"

  34. I keeping stocking on cashmere and picked up the long sleeve tee in blush stone. Also got the lollipop ribbon jacket. I used my 20% coupon from the in-mail catalog!

    ReplyDelete
  35. LaurenPhD: Do you prefer the store at Easton or Polaris? Just wondering. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Karenina, the Syracuse store is definitely not worth the drive. Actually, none of the stores in central/western NY are any good. Syracuse is the smallest/worst, but the one in Victor generally never has anything good (ie no purses, shoes, or jewelry case), and the one in Buffalo seems to only carry the basics. It's too bad, really... but at least we have the outlet. I was there a couple hours ago. Extra 30% off sale but it is really picked over. Alot of new fall stuff, but prices are too high for outlet quality, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Karenina: I agree with EM the Carousel Mall store in Syracuse is not worth the trip, the little selection they do have is always sold out in the popular sizes. The outlet in Waterloo is good, and there are alot of other nice stores to shop at the Waterloo outlet mall.

  38. Rebecca: Thanks for the heads-up on the tax-exempt holiday this weekend. My state (NC) does this, so I will definitely consider placing an order then. I've e-mailed JC CS to find out how they handle it for online purchases. Many places charge the tax at the time of sale (because their systems aren't set up to calculate it differently for states that do this) but then refund it at some point later.

  39. OT - Banana Republic 40% off 2 regular priced items, one-time use code, good today only:

  40. Sandy: would love to hear what you hear back from CS. I'm in NC too and would definitely place an order if I get it tax-exempt!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I got the J.Crew Starfish necklace on ebay last year and still love it!

    ReplyDelete
  42. OK, here's the scoop on the tax-exempt weekend: JC CS says their online system should automatically deduct the sales tax for clothing being shipped to states that do this (the shipping destination is key). If it doesn't, for some reason, all you need to do is call CS, give them the order number, and they will refund the tax.

I recommend that anyone interested in taking advantage of the tax holiday find some info online on the specific restrictions for their state (I don't know if they're all the same or not.) In NC, AppGal (and as Rebecca pointed out), your total order can be whatever, but the price of an individual item cannot exceed $100. And accessories are excluded. Here's a site that lists which states have a tax-free weekend, with links to more information: http://singleparents.about.com/od/cuttingcosts/qt/TaxFreeHoliday.htm

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hmm. What happened to the rest of the link? Let's try to tiny it: http://tiny.cc/fxo7r

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yeah with Heidi...where I'm in California sales tax is almost 10%. Why are we always excluded from these?
Happy shopping for all those tax free states. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Thanks to all who gave their opinion of the Syracuse store; I will probably try to Waterloo outlet at some point instead!

    Cheers!

  46. Quick question to all you ladies. A friend gave me a coupon to use online only. Can it be combined with the free shipping on $150 purchase code? Thanks much!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Whoa, I've never heard of "Tax free weekend-" At first I thought it was a Canadian thing. I live in Illinois and we are broke!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hi flixchatter - nope, it's one code or the other. This is why JCA's can't stand the 20% off codes w/o free shipping, since the s&h costs usually eat up most of the savings.

I didn't realize how many upstate NY JCA's there were here! I'd say we should have a meetup but unfortunately the B&M's aren't really that great, ha.

  49. Thanks Silver Lining, yeah that's what I figured. Oh well, I still might use it anyway :)

  51. This is totally off-topic but I am hunting down a Lexi clutch in the black ( I think it's more of a dark gray). I found one on ebay this evening. Seller is paisleypetunia...anyone have experience with this seller?

also it says new with tags...but how can it possibly be NWT? This item is from last summer...is it not the real thing? Too good to be true?

    ReplyDelete
  52. PatsyStone, Paisley Petunia has been around ebay for quite some time. I bought a pair of J.Crew ballet flats and a pair of perfect leather flats from her and they were the real deal in brand new condition. I believe this is her main source of income and the items are all "marked to prevent returns" so likely come from the clearance center.

As for the bag being around a long time, ask her why and she should be able to tell you about it. Her feedback is good and she responds quickly. If you're really concerned and still want to buy the bag, ask her if you can return it if unsatisfied.

I have the Lexi clutch in the turquoise metallic and love it. Really stylish and so pretty worn cross-body. Good luck with your ebay pursuit.

  53. Ooooh hey there, Island Paisley Perfect Shirt... You're down to $49.99? *wriggles eyebrows*

OT: Not in the FS, but anyone who is/was lusting after the JERICHO PURSETTE in blue should jump on that before it's gone!

  54. Nothing for me. I rarely even check to see what's there anymore.
