Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the FALL sale, or to see some new HOLIDAY arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Wardrobe Review has J. Crew's Spring Look Book posted. I never get these look books! At first glance, some interesting things, like the pale yellow tweedy jacket, the Oxfords and the powder blue jacket.

  3. Just in case someone runs across one while shopping.

    Non-JC item:
I won't be able to take advantage of black Friday shopping. I'm looking for an h&m faux fur coat as seen in link below:

  4. Iridescent thanks to Laura for the Spring Look Book heads up! {Nothing like a new Look Book to bring my J.Crew spending to a slow hault, in anticipation.}

  5. I don't get the lookbooks either! I barely get catalogues. The preview looks interesting!

  6. No additional JCrew shopping planned this weekend, but I did order the Sorel Caribou boots that are on the JCrew website. I ordered them for $71 from Shoebuy using 25% off F&F plus 10% frequent buyer discounts. Unfortunately I doubt I'll be able to pull off a quirky and adorable look like the JCrew models. I suspect I'll have more of a dowdy peasant woman look.

I also ordered a black cashmere cable cardigan from Talbots. It's on sale, plus I used a 20% off and free shipping code that I received in the mail. I really wanted to wait for a bigger markdown, but I was afraid it would sell out. It's a good thing I ordered when I did because the black is completely sold out now in "regular" sizes.

  7. I still have my Sorel Caribous from 1987. They were all the rage when I was in high school (along with duck boots), and apparently when Jenna was, too! Seeing them in the catalog made me laugh. Not that I don't hope others enjoy them this time around!

  8. Went to the J. Crew at Market Street outside of Houston. Apparently regular J. Crew (non-factory store) is too good for Black Friday. There really wasn't anything extra on sale. On the plus side, Market Street was extremely quiet. The Woodlands Mall next door was busy but not nuts. Thanks to Ann Taylor for the 40% off!

  9. I'm envious of Yowza and others who shop at AT. They have lots of cute clothes, but they never fit me properly. And I don't usually have fit problems, but AT is proportioned all wrong for me. AT makes me feel like an Amazon woman. Everything is too short and way too tight in the shoulders.

  10. I called my ps this morningto find out if there were any deals worth driving downtown for, and no black Friday specials! Unbelievable! At least last year they did 30% off outerwear - this year, we get nothing?

  11. Math Teacher,

I went to the Charleston store this morning and was underwhelmed. I picked up a few crewcuts, then went across the street and bought some very lovely (and seemingly well-made) items at Ann Taylor for 40%. Some of their new items (as well as the Loft's) are really great!!

  12. Leader Girl, I'm glad I didn't make the special trip downtown. I am loving the Loft right now. I wish there was another Ann Taylor besides downtown.

  13. I stopped by J.Crew yesterday, and was very disappointed that there were no Black Friday / Saturday specials - not even an additional % off the sale section. I think that was a mistake on J.Crew's part -- I took my holiday shopping dollars elsewhere, and I'm sure many others did as well (there was no line at checkout the entire time I was in the store).

  14. Math Teacher, I stopped by J. Crew in NYC today and there is a 30% off on outerwear. Actually, the salesperson told me on "wool coats"-- not sure if there's a difference. I tried on the duffle coat, it's super cute and on my list for the next sale.

For anyone interested in the duffle coat, it's in wool-- not scratchy, yet not as plush/soft as my older Plaza-- covers my bum and falls to about high-thigh (I'm 5'10", might be mid-thigh on some of you). The hood is button-on and it closes with a zip; doesn't have as much of a shape at the waist like the Lady Days but it's different from all my other coats. Not sure about how warm it'll be for NYC winter, it does have Thinsulate though. I feel like it is TTS to possible if you size down one, I wore a shirt and cardigan and could still zip up in one size smaller, although the shoulder was wrinkly (but not tight).
