J.Crew Email: Covetable, collectible coats

J.Crew's sent an email today to promote their outerwear for Women (click here to shop online). They are featuring the Stadium-Cloth Winnie Jacket (Item 16729; $245.00), which has been available online and in-stores for awhile. In case you are interested, GigiOfCa has a post dedicated to this jacket that is worth check out: "J Crew - stadium-cloth Winnie jacket".

Frankly, I am not overly excited about the current selection for outerwear. I can't wait to see the next roll-out (which is expected to happen soon, like next week soon!) to see what J.Crew delivers in terms of winter coats, including the one shown in the center image below.
Incidentally, these images come from the "Sneak Peek Into J.Crew's Fall Offerings {thanks MissMasala!}" post from last week.

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's current outerwear? Are you excited or disappointed with the current items? Are you looking forward to the next roll-out of outerwear? :)

  1. I bought the yellow Winnie in August. It is so cute and one of the few things JCrew is selling this fall that is a bold color. Can't wait until it's cold enough outside to wear it!

  2. JCrew1985: Congrats on the Winnie! I have to say, J.Crew's shade of yellow for outerwear is gorgeous. :) I own the Stadium Cloth Toggle Coat (from 2007) in yellow (which I believe is the same shade as the Winnie) and absolutely love it. Never was a fan of yellow coats until J.Crew. ;)

  5. I agree with you Alexia - the current coats out there by J Crew are so blah. I got used to buying coats every year or every other year from J Crew but lately I have been on the sidelines. Given that I have a closet full of coats it has to be something wonderful to get me to add to my collection. Perhaps with this next rollout?

  6. I'd really like to know if someone has comments on the stadium cloth Lucinda coat from last year.

  7. I have so many J. Crew coats and jackets. They are one of the first things I look at when there is a new roll out. I saw some new ones on Friday, but they were ok. Nothing to jump up and down about. My heart did not race like it usually does when I see a new coat or jacket I really like and NEED! I am hoping for more styles to come out soon.

  8. My girlfriend and I are not too much a fan of the women's outerwear this year but the men's outwear has definitely improved! The authentic peacoat is a huge improvement over their old peacoat!

  11. I got the yellow Winnie a month ago, and am so glad it is finally cold enough to wear it now! The cloth is incredible. So warm and soft. I got a size 2, and it's roomy enough to fit a thick sweater or sweatshirt underneath. Layering is always good in the winter, and so many coats nowadays barely fit over a regular sweater! I am so in love with this coat. Definitely worth full price, imo!

  12. Tweedy: At least we are not alone about our feelings on the current selection. Hopefully the new roll out has something a bit more exciting for us. :)

P.M.M.: You may want to check out this post, What happened to the time????? , over at My Delightful Obsessions where she discusses the Lucinda Coat from last year. :)

  13. Hi Alexis,

I was just wondering if you knew when that pink coat from the sneak peak of falls offerings would be available? I also think the coats this year are a bit "blah", but I just moved to New York and find myself condiering them because I am really going to need one. I think that pink one is a lot cuter then the ones they currently have out. Any thoughts?

  14. Hi Candela! Unfortunately, I am not sure when that {gorgeous} pink coat will be offered. Although, I did notice a winter coat at one of my local stores (South Windsor, CT) that looked similar to it, but in grey. I wasn't sure if it was the same because I only quickly took note of it (I was pressed for time when I stopped in, otherwise I would have paid more attention to such a lovely item!) Hopefully that new coat will be available with the new arrivals online, which may be this week. :)
