This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopped
by a J.Crew store this past weekend
to see what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS
{sigh!} in person, maybe you
might be willing to
share that with us in this post. In
particular, if you could share
with us a few of the noteworthy items
that are available, at what
prices, and potential sizes the
store is carrying (as well as the
store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also, please
let us know if your local store
was/ is carrying an additional
percent off sale. Thanks in
advance!!! :)
Yes, I visited. I didn't buy anything and returned the stripe popver in red (review). I exchanged it for petite and it fit better, but I have sooo many collared, button-front shirts. I need more flow. Will probably re-buy if I can get it on sale.
ReplyDeleteAlso -- learned that petites will be removed from stores. It will be a process, of course, but is said to be completed by July. Sounds like just in time for the first fall release.
Oh, that's a bummer about Petites. It's been nice to occasionally be able to try on certain items, but the limited detention they offer (at my store anyways) hardly seems to make a difference in terms of being able to try on things. Still, a bummer. It was nice to occasionally be able to try on an item, at least for fit, even if it was in a different color.
DeleteNo more petite sizes in stores? Phooey. My local BR stopped carrying petites in store last year, and I've bought very little there since. Such a hassle to order online, discover sizing is off, return, re-order, lather rinse repeat.
DeleteI noticed the SF store carries mainly office attire (suits, slacks, button-up shirts). I won't be that bummed that they take it away.
DeleteTM93 - I had the same issue. The things I wanted to try in petites weren't always in-store. I can usually gauge from regular size if that is ok or I need to order petite.
Deletecobalt - My BR still carries petites, but I don't think it's doing well. I wonder if my store will go the way of yours.
JSR - I noticed that, too, about SF. I wouldn't peg suiting doing well with so many tourists. Not sure that those who need suits are buying them at that particular J. Crew store.
My local JC and BR stores have never carried petite sizes, as far as I know. Loft does have some, but it's a small area of the store. I guess petite sizes aren't in as much demand as regular.
DeleteMaybe petites didn't sell well? I am pretty sure they only came to stores within the past year or two.
DeleteWell, it's always been that way for tall people. You have to order tall online. The stores can't have everything.

DeleteHas anyone seen the Happy Cat print? It doesn't look like cats. Is it? thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi cate - I think they mean cat in the sense that it's an animal print (like leopard spots) as opposed to actual cats. Although, it could also be the Copywriter from Space hard at work again! ; )
DeleteOh that makes sense, thanks! I was hoping it would be actual cats. Maybe the Copywriter from Space needs glasses :)
DeleteI had to zoom in on the stock photos online, to see if it was an actual print of cat heads. :-)
DeleteIs the online roll-out tomorrow or Wednesday?
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the new guide will be in my mailbox today, not likely, but I'm really looking forward to it. The few pics I've seen look very promising.
@maryeb, the style guide has loaded on jcrew's pinterest and it says may 17 for new arrivals (I believe they mean online). Hth
DeleteThanks @jan!!
DeleteI picked it up in store. Calgary..... Don't want to rain on your parade.... But I really hope there is alot more than what is in the style guide this time...I thought it was pretty awful
ReplyDeleteThe market mall store told me they are expecting to get a lot of jewelry this week. Most of the women's rollout should be on the floor by Thursday.
DeleteHi - got the June style guide today and posted on Instagram "ymous1975".
ReplyDeleteIt's rather thin. Enjoy!
That was nice of you! I got mine in the mail today. I don't know if I like all the sandals that tie or fasten up high above the ankles. They seem really fussy and I think I'd be annoyed having things tied onto my legs. Some of the jewelry looks fun. I might try the eyelet dress.
DeleteThanks a lot for posting!! The long sleeve top with the windowpane looking pattern on the sleeves is interesting. I can't tell if it's a blouse? sweater?
Delete@maryeb it is a sequined cardi $298 F2052
DeleteThanks, Ina! I just took a look at it on-line. It's really pretty.
DeleteThe long oval link necklace comes in some great colors.
DeleteYes, thank you for posting pics!
DeleteGot the style guide in the mail today. Wow that's a lot of gingham! I'm interested in seeing the anorak in vivid lemon IRL.
ReplyDeleteJ. Crew took gingham and ran with it. Honestly, it's kind of ruined it for me. It's enough already. One or two pieces is preppy-adorable. Everything in gingham including fabrics and fussy silhouettes is just silly. Gingham is supposed to be fun, summer, cotton casual. Not leather, motorcycle jackets and pouffy, taffeta skirts.
DeleteI actually visited Madewell and went back a second time on Monday. They're getting some great stuff in and also putting a lot on sale.
