This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
If anybody is looking for a pair of long sold out red Collins patent loafers (e5049) in a size 7, my B&M (518-456-5902) has had a pair on the shelf for months.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried the Gazebo pant yet? I have managed to stay away from the wide cropped leg silhouette so far but I am obsessing over how these look on the model! I'm 5'7" so I'd probably want to go for the tall length. My closest store is two hours away, unfortunately, so I can't try them before purchase.
ReplyDelete(I should seriously reconsider $98 for a pair of pants like this - I have several pairs of knit gaucho pants I wear around the house during the summer that I bought during my pregnancies - 12 years ago & nine years ago(!) - that are the same shape but I do NOT find those flattering whatsoever.)
Taylor, I bought the Gazebo pants in white in P00 and I love them. I am about 5'4" and the regular size was too long. The petite length is perfect. I think they run TTS. The pants are well made and the wide leg is not too extreme. Perfectly on trend. I plan to wear them with my new Colette pumps in polka dot denim, but they also work well with flat sandals. They are one of my favorite purchases so far this season. Hope that helps.
DeleteThank you, Stephanie! I thought they'd be cute for an upcoming trip to Seattle next month. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet. And hey, if they don't work I can return them in Seattle! :)
DeleteThat's a great idea!
DeleteI'm 5'6" ish and tried a 00 and 0. 0 was a little loose but the 00 was too fitted. If you want them to be more ankle length I'd try the longer length but they seemed pretty good for me, just a touch above ankle length.
DeleteA review of the J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Paisley Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like how you styled it with the denim jacket. I'm going to try that with some of my much-loved but under-worn J.Crew skirts, I'm trying to style them more casually instead of dressing them up (and hence not wearing them very often).
Deleteshopgrrrl: thank you SO much!!! I have been reaching for my denim jackets more and more lately. I love the idea of pairing the jacket with pencil skirts to dress them down a bit!
DeleteI'm dying here - I've coveted the Collection blue leather perforated dress ever since it came out, and yesterday it popped back in my size with a substantial discount. FP was $598 - out of my price range, but now it would be about $260. I'm trying to cut back by buying items that I need as opposed to want (I have a stuffed closet). But I want this dress SO BAD. I guess Mother's Day is this week... :)
ReplyDeleteCousy, allow me to be the little devil on your shoulder that urges you to go for it! Especially since it's not FS so you can always return it if you don't SUPER love it. (And if you do, consider it a holiday treat!) I think it's worse sometimes not knowing what could've been...! Good luck in whatever you decide either way. :-)
DeleteCousy I have been eyeing this one up as well but I already have the perforated leather shell that i got for a great price and have worn zero times. I still love it but it just hangs in the closet. I agree that you can always test out and return and this is a dress that you can keep for years but if you don't see yourself wearing I would pass. I just don't know where I would wear the dress. It is too fancy to wear with my group of friends or to work. I guess date night but I would probably always gravitate to something else. Just my two cents. I think the dress is gorgeous just not practical for my lifestyle.
DeleteOk, so I looked and that dress is gorgeous! I agree with TM93, go for it! I'm not a fashionista by any stretch but I think this dress could be very versatile in your wardrobe. And the color is to die for!
Delete(hanging head) just took tm93's advice. Will report back.
Deletecousy - the dress is gorgeous! I definitely think you made the right decision in ordering it. Even if it doesn't work out, at least you will finally know, and can stop thinking about it. If it does work out then you will finally own that magnificent dress at a fabulous price! Fingers crossed that it DOES work out for you!
DeleteI got that dress last year in the blush color. It's beautiful: lightweight and soft. You can definitely dress it down by throwing a denim vest or jacket over it and wearing with simple white sneakers for casual occasions. Go for it!
DeleteIf your looking for a cute pair of denim shorts, I highly recommend the Dark Von wash currently on sale. They come down to just $19.99 with the current promo (plus free shipping!). I purchased them at full price with just a mere 25% off last year ;) I sized down one size...
ReplyDeleteI bit, too, on the denim shirtdress (e7781) when it popped back in my size. I've really been wanting dresses with a little more definition since everything seems to be so oversized, and this one had great reviews, so hope it ships!
ReplyDeleteNo visit to the store for me. Love the free shipping on every order, but unfortunately the items I'm stalking didn't pop back in my size yesterday, or today.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely consider ordering the stripe maxi-dress, but the recent promos that applied to full-price didn't work for me. I think someone mentioned they were able to get it with the extra 30% off. Was that in-store? Has anyone had any luck getting one of the promos applied to it online?
Even though that maxi probably will be a disaster on me, I would still like to try it with a promo.
DeleteOT: For those interested, my post of weekend shopping sales & deals from around the web, as well as my personal picks can be seen here on my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Crew ladies! TGIF! The 25% ends tonight, will there be a new promo tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else slipped spotted JCrew at Marshalls or TJ Maxx lately? I saw two items today. One was this year's Short-sleeve cotton shirtdress (still full price in store and online!) For just $30 and there was the eyelet-sleeve shirtdress from last summer's collection.
ReplyDeleteI check out TJ Maxx sometimes after people here report seeing seeing J Crew there, but so far nothing!
DeleteI found a white perfect shirt, an open weave blue merino vneck sweater, and a bright split neck, summer linen sweater from last season at my Marshalls recently. $24 for shirt and $15each for the sweaters. There were a few similar items sprinkled throughout the store but nothing else in my size. Hope to see more!
Deleteonly going for a return. the chino sailor pants...ordered the white and the navy (in different sizes). Leg is not straight as in photo ...its about as wide as the patio pant. Carolyn in Canada
ReplyDeleteReview here of the scalloped top and the stripe pom-pom top. Remember that you can sometimes find sold out items in-store. The online inventory only reflects store availability if there is a certain quantity. I don't know what that number is, but stores that are only showing a few or less are definitely not included in the count.
ReplyDelete@gigi, the scalloped top looks fantastic on you, better than the online pic!
DeleteHi Jan, thank you ;)
DeleteA review of the J. Crew Long-Sleeve Striped Maxi Dress I definitely think that this dress works well on a curvier figure!
ReplyDelete@rynetta, love the maxi dress, it is so flattering on you! I'm really getting tempted by it.
Deletejan: you're super sweet! I really appreciate the compliment!
DeleteI've now seen this dress on a few different body types, and honestly, I'm impressed. All the lovely ladies look . . . lovely!
DeleteI have one on it's way to me - let's hope it works on a more pear-shaped figure as well! As always, a million thanks for the pictures, so helpful!
carmencatalina: this dress is universally flattering in my opinion! Please let me know how you like it! And, you're so welcome!
DeleteA cdn store told me new arrivals would be in store May 18. I'm guessing online rollout would be that week too?
ReplyDeleteTwo more reviews. The embroidered linen top (pretty details...for a linebacker) and gauze popover (bought this one) -- visit this post
ReplyDeleteHappy Morher's Day to all the JCA Moms!
ReplyDeleteOT, but if you're out buying gingham this weekend - the semiotics of its popularity right now (we have T Swift to thank, apparently) http://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2016/may/02/gingham-style-the-fabric-that-owns-spring
ReplyDeleteI am in *love* with this gingham dress.

It's $$$, but I think it's absolute perfection.
