Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'm headed to one of our 'big cities' to do a bit of shopping, but sadly J.Crew will not be one of my stops, since apparently Mickey has decided that Montana doesn't warrant a J.Crew retail store. Anyways...many other retailers besides J.Crew & Madewell are offering excellent sales this holiday weekend. I've shared my weekly list, along with my personal picks in this post, for those interested. :)

    1. That's funny, I thought West Virginia was the only state without a J Crew store! (My husband was thinking of taking a job in WV a couple years back and that was one of the first things I checked ;D

  2. OT: J. Crew trained customers to want one thing — and now it's killing business

"Fortunately, there are some bright spots in the business. Trendy sister store Madewell saw comparable sells increase 6%, but the parent company's comparable sales were still down 7%."

    1. I noticed Crew have cut back their inventory. A lot of items are sold out at full price. When a customer sees an item that says, 'Only a few left', they are likely to pay full price. I would. If it's something I really like.

I do hope the company sees profit gains especially this coming fall, with Somsack as the women's designer. Then again, maybe it's just the nature of retail right now, not just JCrew. They'd have to produce REALLY, amazing clothes, with quality and fit to consider, to see profits again.

    2. J.Crew has to stop hoping that its customers will want to buy overpriced merch with cheap synthetic fabrics and shoddy construction first.

    3. I think this is the case at many retailers, I remember when BR was a special store for me (we never had a J.Crew here until about 18 months ago), and I bought my 40th birthday dress there for ~$140, which was a small fortune for me at the time. Flash forward 8 years, and I couldn't imagine paying $140 for a BR dress, even though I can afford it easier now. Why should I? I know that $140 dress will be on sale sometime soon....yep, I've been very well trained!

    4. Even though Anthropologie now has more sales, I never look at something and think I'll wait until it goes on sale. Things generally sell out before they do. I don't think it will be easy for J Crew to go back unless they drop the opening prices to something more in line with the sale price and improve quality. Not buying a poly top even if it is cute for some of the high prices. Fingers crossed for fall rollout, it's usually my favorite.

    5. What WFF said!! I would pay full price if the quality was there

    6. This is the first year I have held on to J Crew gift cards for so long... Usually I spend them as quickly as I get them. I just can't find anything that has the same quality I used to get at J Crew. I am eternally hopeful- I stop in all the time.

    7. I've said this before and maybe I'm wrong, but I feel as though JC isn't designing enough clothes that are in step with today's trend toward more casual clothing. I know there's a huge contingent of people who still need more formal work clothes, but I just feel as though society in general has become more casual in the way they dress - for better or worse - and JC hasn't quite caught up with it yet.

  3. OT - anyone seen or tried the JCrew Junkies shop on the Fam App? I just discovered it. Thoughts? Fee structure? Seller/buyer protection?

  4. Speaking of Madewell...I wish they offered % off on full price items this Memorial weekend. :-(

  5. So I rarely buy an entire outfit that I see in the window at J.Crew but I did this week. It's a "hook up" according to J.Crew lingo. I bought the perfect shirt in colorful plaid and the sunday slim shorts in vintage plaid, bohemian red (colorful plaid and vintage plaid are the same thing in this case) The shirt was on sale and the shorts were on promo, 30% off, and I had a $25.00 bounce back card. I really love both of them together. Had to go up one size in the perfect shirt, shorts are my usual size. I am also planning a trip to the clearance store tomorrow, so I will report back. They said they were fully stocked! The Doodle will also be traveling with me but the store is pet friendly, even with a bowl of water out for your furry friends.

    2. DD, have fun! That's so cute about being pet friendly. Do you know if the Lynchburg store is toddler friendly? I thought I read somewhere that Arden had toys for entertaining. I have convinced my hubby to stop in Lynchburg on the way to Florida so I need to figure out how to entertain him and my toddlers. :) thx!

    3. They do have toys at the Arden store. Don't know about Lynchburg.

Come see me at the Avenues of East Cobb in Marietta!!!

  9. I stopped by my local Madewell at Harbor East, Baltimore, MD. Noticed some newish things in the sale section, which was still an additional 30 percent off, specifically the embroidered indigo mercado dress, item f0811, which I think was marked down to $99.99 before the 30 percent off. it is currently $110 online plus 20 percent off, so you'll get a better deal in-store. I picked up the embroidered tie-sleeve dress, item f0152, which was $79.99 in store before the 30 percent off, vs. $89.99 online with only 20 percent off. The dress didn't draw me in online, but I really liked the embroidery in person.

    good luck shopping, everyone!

  10. I dropped by this evening and it was by far the smallest sale section I've ever seen.

  11. I continue to "stop in the store" by shopping online. Ordered Stubbs & Wooten Love You slippers that were on sale & the colorblock suede pom pom flat since a 10 popped back in my size. Ordered the linen flamingo tee from last summer that showed up in a medium and the pink orchid shorts in an 8 since they're now on sale. I love this style of short and it will pair well with the candy stripe popover. Also, tried the crew cuts version of the candy stripe shirt after seeing it on an SA. She wasn't petite so I decided to go for it. I'm a size 8 in women's and I could wear the 14; size 16 wasn't available to compare. This works on the shoulder & for about $30 with current promo may be an option for those who want another choice. You can tuck into a pencil skirt or wear untucked with jeans, etc. I've had enough candy so I didn't purchase.

  12. Review here of the patio pant in eyelet. They're white and the pockets are visible, but I still like the pants.

  14. The clearance store was a hit today...I picked up the collection long sleeve striped maxi dress, the bell sleeve striped dress in navy stripe and black stripe, fiery crystal earrings in orange (really cute), a swimsuit, some harbor shorts and a couple of midi skirts. Also grabbed a pair of white rayner jeans. The big score was 2 pair of the new sunglasses. I got a navy pair and a tortoise pair. They were $35.00 so that is why I bought two pair. They had tons of swimwear and it was 40% off. All this was about $200.00 with the promos they were running.

    1. Another win!! Believe I'll finally get a chance to go in June with my conference trip. It's going to be Father's Day weekend. Wondering what type(s) of promos they usually run in store. Also, do you know if you can use the educator's discount? TIA!

    3. Amazing finds! Especially the long sleeve maxi that was sold out and sunglasses! Are items second quality or simply returns, I thought returns just went back online as we see popbacks.

    4. @mygoddy, I should finally get a chance to visit next weekend although my only option will be late afternoon on Saturday so I'm hoping that all of the good things aren't cleared out by then. I'm a teacher and was told that they offer the educator discount. Hoping I have some of DD's good luck. :)

    8. Flats are $40.00 and sandals are $35.00.
