This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
I won't be visiting a store this weekend, but it does appear as if I will be packing up the two pair of Teddie pants I ordered to ship back to the warehouse. The fit is fine in the waist and thighs, but the bottom hem hits at an unflattering spot on my calves, making my legs appear much shorter than they are...not a flattering look at all. Very sad, as the pants appear to be well made, and seem like they would be quite comfy to wear, too. The leopard marlo crossbody will probably be a keeper. It's very cute, and a nice size. I just need to try it with a few outfits to see if I like the way it looks.
ReplyDeleteIn other shopping related news...for those interested, my weekly list of sales, deals, & personal picks from around the web is posted on my blog right here. Enjoy your weekend everyone! :)
DeleteOT: I had a great experience with J.Crew customer service this morning. I sized up on that infamous gingham cashmere cardigan based on the website review at the time, but it turns out I should have stuck with my normal size. I called CS and asked if I could exchange it for the same price. They agreed to honor it AND waived the shipping fee!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was TTS too... if anything I thought it ran a bit large, not as fitted as my other JC cashmere cardis. Very pretty color and pattern though.
DeleteFinally got my cashmere gingham cardigan...Not the one that I originally ordered but the one I tracked down myself. The original one has never shipped. Glad I got one.
ReplyDeleteMy order was cancelled. I had a feeling it would happen. Oh well.. :)
DeleteThat stinks. I would watch the website for a pop back and then call CS, reference the cancelled order number and then ask them to reorder. Also, sometimes they will let you order a similar item for the same price.
DeleteThanks for the tip, DD!
DeleteJSR, I managed to snag an XXS and a S and neither has arrived, but given what you ladies are reporting, the XXS may work. If so, I am happy to mail you the S. I can email you when I get it!
DeleteI believe the sweater runs a touch large if anything. XXS was a smidge big on me, but still gorgeous.
DeleteThanks Anthro Blogger. At this point, I'm kind of over it. As I have my eyes set on other things I ordered a few days ago, like the Rati tulip skirt and Deconstructed Regent blazer. :-D
DeleteAnthroblogger, since JSR isn't interested, you can email me about the small (mygoddy@gmail.com).
DeleteDarn.... Mine was cancelled too. Got the dreaded "wish we had more" email. Maybe I would go to the store and find one as DD suggested.
Delete@AnthroBlogger- I bought a dress at Anthro yesterday for 89.99, but I'm wondering if I should have waited for a promo...Do they run promos often?
Delete@Mygoddy, I'll email you as soon as I get it.
Delete@Sara Lee They didn't use to run promos often but now they do. I believe they have 15% off dresses today. They do PAs within 14 days. HTH!
@Anthro Blogger, thank you!
Deletestill no word for me. I ordered the small and just emailed cs about it. I'm going to try a store today...
DeleteI'm a new commenter, but at my local store yesterday they had a promo for a free $25 gift card with every $125 purchase. The gift card didn't have a minimum to use (I.e. Spend $100 get $25 off, etc). Worth checking out!!
ReplyDeleteYep, got one day before yesterday. Nice promo.

DeleteDD....you must be the luckiest JCA ever. LOL
DeleteI got an email with $25 off next purchase of $100+. Anyone else got this?
DeleteStopped in for the first time in 6-8 months. Not a lot looked interesting....well, some things looked good but too short, sheer or otherwise not right for me. I did buy that skirt with the clip dots on it. It was surprisingly chic in a laid back way. I got the orange and ordered the white from the store. Also picked up the pink/orange cat bangle (harkens back to the days of good JC jools) and the olive seed bead dangle earrings. Tried on the Regent jacket in hopes I wouldn't hate it (hoped to get the madras plaid one)...but as I thought that collar is just contrived and like most other folks I don't have skinny arms and no shoulders. I'm built like a line backer apparently....according to the cut of that jacket. Then came home and on a whim checked to see if any med/large gingham bucket hats came back in and yah...grabbed one but had to throw a couple other things in my cart to get free shipping. Threw in a green vintage tee and the straw bag with the dots on it. Oh the games we play....ha! That bag might be a keeper though...I do love a cute straw bag!
ReplyDeleteI visited on Thursday and was thrilled to find 50% off sale. I scored the Uptown bag in yellow for $65 CAD, and the gingham scarf in red/purple for $29 CAD. I've wanted a yellow bag forever, but always talked myself out of it as I know it will be hard to keep clean. But at that price, I decided to go for it and hope for the best, I just couldn't resist the amazing leather. My friend grabbed the blue Uptown for only $60. As for the gingham scarf, it's really beautiful, light and gauzy, yet cosy too, I hope they do more scarves in that fabric.
ReplyDeleteReviews of the Collection Thomas Mason for J. Crew Gingham Dress and J. Crew Wrap Dress in Cotton Poplin Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey both look great, but the gingham one is really stunning. I love the pattern, the length and the fullness of the skirt. If you are deciding which to keep, I like that one.
DeleteI bought the clip dot midi finally got to try it after all the great reviews. I did size down one. I was so happy to find the white in store as it has been sold out for awhile in Canada.
ReplyDeleteAlso bought the Pintucked Midi in morning floral in my usual size. I agree with others who said the waist is a bit small, this worked ok on me because I have a defined waist but if you're more straight I think you may need to size up. It is def high waisted on me. After seeing it on rynetta I had to try it, she looked great! It's a beautiful piece, the pleating doesn't puff out at the waist and the length worked on me at 5'7". The only thing is that I wish the pattern lined up at the seams. FYI for cdn jca's the skirt is cheaper in store ($136) than online which is the only price diff I've noticed for a long time.
jan: you're super sweet! I am so glad that you like the skirt. It's a great piece!
DeleteThank you, rynetta!
DeleteI'm curious to see how the pintucked midi works on me. I'm 5'8" and I like high waisted things. The only thing that has me curious is that pleating in the front. I ordered the blue t-shirt with the sail boat on it to wear with it, if it is a keeper. The skirt color combination is unusual for me and I thought it might be a nice change of pace for once. If it doesn't work, maybe the tulip skirt will still be available to try out.
DeleteHi Vava, I hope you like it as it is a really well done skirt imo. The pleating didn't add any bulk for me. It def looked better high waisted on me, I tried one size up in store since the waist was a tad snug but it didn't look good. I think getting the right size is key with this skirt. Let us know when you get it! I like your idea with the t-shirt.
DeleteTwo new arrival reviews in this post - striped popover sweater & mini skirt in nautical stripe

ReplyDeleteMy St. Bart and Bermuda tees arrived and they're great! Nice material for t-shirts. The colors on the "sunset" colorway are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI visited J Crew..........online. I decided to try the so-called pintucked skirt, a couple of coordinating tees, and the flashy hologram clutch. Time will tell what the reviews will hold, but hopefully they will be good. They all have potential for being fun additions to my wardrobe, not only now but for next winter's warm weather vacation. :-)
ReplyDeleteOT- for all the JCA mid Atlantic east coasters experiencing this incessant spring rain spell, has anyone been out in the rain with their chateau trench? Is it really waterproof and how has the fabric held up in the elements? Thanks for your feedback!
ReplyDeleteI've been out in the chateau trench in moderate but not drenching rain, and it held up great.
DeleteOn the other hand, the convertible zip anorak jacket is totally not rain-proof. It's soft cotton, like a light fatigue jacket. Very cute and easy (and large, definitely size down), but JC should not describe it as a "rain jacket".
Hi, does anyone know how metallic mirror kitten heel fits? Thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was in the store yesterday. Sale section was 50% off, while the rest of the store was 30% off.
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteWhat store location had the 50% off?
Thanks!
Sooswan, the stores in Canada are offering 50% off sale. I think (most) stores in the US are offering 40% off sale right now. Maybe someone else will chime in with their experience...
DeleteI received 50% off my sale purchase last Thursday in Chicago. The signs in store said 40% off sale. Looked at my receipt at home and noticed it said 50% off final sale. Had I known that, I would've purchased a necklace and a few other sale items. Oh well!
