Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I did go into the store. I exchanged a sz 6 stripe gauze popover in red for the 8P. It's tunic length on me in the regular size.

Visit this post for an off-the-shoulder look, incl the leopard Marlo which nets $57 thru Mon, 5/3.

  2. Returned a bunch of stuff over the weekend. Got an opportunity to try a smaller size in the cap sleeve tee... Body was better but sleeves were worse. Just not made for someone with strong shoulders. But it is a really nice tee if the sleeves work for you.

Also was able to get the gingham dress in a smaller size. Was worried everything would be too small, but it works. I'm normally a 4 in fit and flare styles but the 2 worked better for me. Now I just need some warmer (and drier) weather to wear it. :/

  5. I went to make a few returns. I tried on the off the shoulder top in yellow and the off the shoulder dress in chambray. These were both a giant miss for me. The yellow color was pretty and bright, but the style reminded me of wearing a bath towel after the shower! Same with the chambray dress, but even more so because it was HUGE - like the zero was swimming on me -- fell well below my knees, was boxy and really baggy and shapeless. I know these types of tops are trendy right now, but it just doesn't seem like a practical or particularly cute trend. Also, the elastic slipped up my shoulders every time I tried to anything except stand totally still. Oh well, its a good reminder that there's no need to fall for every trend that comes along. And I have nice shoulders, too! Oh well ;) Maybe I'll like the cutout shoulder trend better than the off the shoulder trend.

There have been a few loves for me lately -- the clip dot midi, as I mentioned last week and the Elsie ankle strap pumps in the pretty light blue color.

    1. Blakemdjohns, I have the same issue with the off the shoulder trend. And I have nice shoulders too. I might keep looking and if I find something I like at a low price point I'll get it. I think the cut out shoulder may be the way to go and you could prob even wear a regular bra (yay!). I think this one from Anthropologie is cute: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/m/product/4110348699595.jsp?#/
