This is a downgrade from the last promotion (from 30% to 25% off select regular styles and 40% to 30% off sale). I am not sure why I would get excited about this... J.Crew should have kept the same promo from yesterday.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? What item are you hoping to pick up? Please share!

  1. Why doesn't J.Crew just start their prices at 25% less?

    1. Ha! Seriously.

I'd love to do some reading on the psychology of pricing products... I'm sure there's some method to their starting price points and constant promos.

  3. I already bought a few things with the last promotion, so I'll probably sit this one out. I just wish the discount applied to all of new arrivals (check out my favorites here http://bit.ly/1I2Xa5e)

  4. Yesterday I was able to easily style the drapey twill skirt with what I already had on, so I bought it. Check out the pic & other (text) reviews in this post.

Three scarves reviewed, including one I bought, on 1060 Pairs.

  5. I will probably sit this one out as well...purchased a few items with the 40% off and also tried the drapey oxford crepe jumpsuit in the jade color and the wide leg crop jeans neither of which were on promotion. I really want to know if I can pull off the jumpsuit look or not! We'll see.

  6. My items haven't even shipped yet, and the prices with these different discounts are all over the place! Talk about whiplash. Some items in store are excluded from discount, then I find out it's discounted online...argh! I have so many returns lined up in the next few weeks!

  7. I'm going tomorrow as I've decided I "need" the cargo skirt in navy. My orders from the free shipping offer last week have shipped and I've been having better luck with prices online vs. in store lately so I think that will be it.

I had great fun today flipping through my two-foot stack of old j crew catalogs. Love doing that once in a while ...

    1. Have you seen the skirt IRL ? I ordered it in navy but have not received it yet....I orderd my pencil skirt size. Hope I like it and that it fits,,,,,

    2. Unknown, see the reviews on this blog a couple of JCAs chimed in. I ordered in my usual size of P4 and found it tight across the bum and so reordered in P6. I believe another JCA also sized up in Petite. I know they had it in my stores in the lighter colors not the navy but petite is best for me so I did not try on. Quality and style of the skirt was wonderful, I was really impressed.

    3. Based on the reviews here from JCAs I think I will probably have to size up. I'll report back.

    4. Did you find the skirt wrinkled easily? Thx!

    5. Well I'm disappointed. The skirt is so cute and I fit in my regular 4, but Cate you called it - I was a wrinkled mess in it in the dressing room and I didn't even sit down in it!

I don't do well with high maintenance bottoms but I did love it. Maybe they will make it in a more forgiving fabric in a future rollout.

    6. ruffles, shoot, sorry to hear that. I tried on the pants in the same style and loved them but they wrinkled badly just in the dressing room (without sitting down), so I was worried about trying the skirt (haven't seen it in the store yet).

    1. I have the Eaton boots. I can tell you I usually where a 9 1/2 in cece flats but went down to a 9 in the Eaton boots. There is a little heal slippage in the nine but not enough to size down to a 8 1/2. The toe box was roomy without being overly big and not too tight. The suede on the first pair I ordered ( gray) was perfect, they arrived in mint condition wrapped in plastic. So over all I'd say size down. I have to warn you though of Eaton coming from the store, on a subsequent order of the nude color ( that particular set of boots shipped from a store) I found the suede to be a matted texture that looked as if it had been handled in the store, so back they went although I really did love the color. Wish they'd ship shoes from the warehouse especially something like suede that can look worn if handled repeatedly in the stores. HTH.

    1. Hi Unknown,

I saw the linen cargo skirt today at my store. The skirt is really goregous with herringbone detail. There was a white and olive (fatigue green) and both colors are so pretty. I really liked the buttons on the belt loops.

    2. The Tidewater Blue color is on the way to me. I will post a review as soon as I get it!

    3. Unknown I commented on the skirt up thread. It's gorgeous but I need a less wrinkly fabric.

    5. thank you for the replies. Thanks Ruffles...yes I did see your comments but I was asking for new comments...as we all have different opinons I was looking for more of them ( as sizing for everyone seems to be a concern) by the way is it lined ? cheers for all the help. I have the navy still (waiting on delivery) and am concerned I ordered the wrong size . I am in Canada (up north) and shipping kills me...

    6. Is it the skirt version of the garden pant ? as in same details ...with buttons etc.

    7. Unknown-it does look like the Cargo skirt and garden pant have the same details. Just checked them out on my two laptops. Same buttons on the belt loops and same pocket style.

  13. I'm confused about the educator discount. I've been able to stack it in my store the past couple weeks but I just put my id on the counter and the SAs know me there so we didn't really have a discussion about it. Are other JCAs getting the educator discount? Are they really discontinuing it? Is there a different policy at factory (I don't often go there).

    1. Ruffles-
I used my educator's discount yesterday when I bought sale items that had additional 40% off. My purchases would be final sale, though.

    2. My PS told me months ago that the teacher discount now only applied to full price items or items with a dollar amount discount. I appreciate that JC offers the discount, I just wish they would decide on a policy and stick with it. And that all b&m's would follow through. I emailed JC about some things (my PS has been asking me to email my complaints since they listen to us more than them) and I addressed this. I was told "As far as our student/teacher discount, this hasn’t changed - it’s still 15% off your entire order. If there’s another promotion going on like the current promotion TIMETOSHOP for 30% off full priced styles, we cannot combine the two. The only other time this discount cannot be applied is if it’s a branded partnership item or a wedding item."

  14. I agree that this promo is a downgrade. Why would I pay more? OT, I am in Omaha this w/e for an event that attracts >40K attendees. My niece and I played "spot the JCA" while standing in line at Century Link. There were not as many sightings as last year - mostly prior season items. As you might expect, I stopped in at the local J Crew. The sale section was packed with a better than average selection of sale jewelry. SAs were much friendlier than at my local store.
