This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for some kind of bralette top to wear in place of full tanks under some of the sheer shirts or shirts with the lace shoulder details. When the weather gets hotter i don't want to wear too many layers, obviously, but i do need something that isn't so bra looking. If that makes any sense.
ReplyDeleteMiss JR. I highly recommend M. Rena. They have different styles, bralettes, camis etc. They come in one size, lots of colors. I like that they have wide straps so you can actually wear a bra underneath if you choose without lots of straps showing. I have found them at smaller boutiques but maybe try a google search for stores in your area or a website for them. HTH.

I love it....very fancy Pj's. love her new hair and no glasses ! Compared to all the other attendees...I guess she looks over dressed ( Kim K and Queen B wore nothing....)
DeleteJust one review today.
ReplyDeleteWooden disc tassel necklace (c7547)
Currently, this is sold out online, but there may be some left in stores. I ordered this necklace from a store after a JCA (thank you again, Ina! :) let me know it was available in her area.
Although personally I prefer daintier jewelry, I wouldn't mind owning this stunning piece. Alas, I bought the necklace for my MIL and unless she absolutely hates it I'm out of luck. :)
Initially, I worried about it being too overwhelming but the scale of the necklace is perfect. The unique combination of materials, textures, and movement (from the tassels and brass beads) is what makes JC jewelry stand out above the rest. The individual components are set in solid/cast brass plates that make the back of the necklace very smooth and therefore super comfortable to wear.
I'd say the overall quality is on par with the price but I admit to being conditioned over the years to wait for promos or add'l discounts, and I have done so here as well. One thing I've noticed, and I'm not sure if it's just me being too picky, but it just seems to me that the clear stones don't sparkle as much as they do on my older JC jewelry. I'd love to know if other JCAs have noticed that, too. However, this would be too minor to stop me from buying the piece.
My other complaint is the black plating on the back chain. Again, this would not deter me from purchasing as that part of the necklace is often covered by hair or a shirt collar, but IMHO the black color just doesn't make much sense other than making the chain "different" from everything else. Also, the black clasp feels cheaper (smaller/thinner) than on the other JC jewelry I own and it was hard to open the few times I put the necklace on and off.
Still, this is a great piece of jewelry that I will now be stalking for myself.
I hope this helps someone. Have a lovely day!
Two J.Crew Factory reviews here.
ReplyDeletePSA - the lovely black wool crepe dress is back in stock - C1063 - looked like all sizes earlier today. It's backordered until sometime in August (!!!) but who wears wool dresses then anyway, it'll be safely in my closet for fall/winter.
ReplyDeleteA review of the Collection Tropical Floral Pant And, a review of the Striped Eyelet Dress HTH!
ReplyDeleteVintage PJs #31314, long sleeve or short sleeve, cotton, very comfortable and with proper accessories, can be worn to the Met.

DeleteROFL! I almost spit out my coffee all over my laptop screen when I read this!
DeleteCouple of reviews. Palm Tree Dress, I ordered in a P6 and 4. WOW, crazy difference in lengths. I even chatted with specialist online that was even more confusing. P6 measured 32" for me, 29" according to specialist. 4 - 35" for me, 32" according to specialist. The length on the 4 was better, the widest part on the P6 hit too high and it was too short. I may try a regular 2 and see what that is like. I ordered the Marbella sandal in Navy, like the style, they were comfortable, sometimes that angle strap, high back can be annoying. I felt they ran a little big in length and the back part did not seem as fitted as I would like. I will see if a 1/2 size smaller helps.
ReplyDeleteOh and I just called my local store for a size 2 and it just went on sale for $99 with additional 40% off.
DeleteReviewed the scattered floral top; runs a little big but would recommend to stick with you regular size for room on the shoulder area; love love the rustic mint (a pale green color with orange flowers). Just too cute!

ReplyDeleteA review of the J. Crew Sleeveless Drapey Popover HTH!
ReplyDeletePics of the drapey beach sweater in pale petal and the corsica wedges on my IG @inawonderland5.
ReplyDeleteLove both!
Received my linen cargo skirt, reorder in a larger size and as feared it is too big in the waist. I found the P4 tight across the bum but the P6 is huge in the waist, so back it goes. So from all my new arrival orders, I am only keeping (so far anyway) the Marbella ankle sandals in Navy. My Vintage Cotton Tee in Metallic finally shipped, I am hoping that works out.
