Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. I made a return, with receipt and within a month of purchasing the items, at Anthropologie and it took half an hour. I'm avoiding that place for a while, what a waste of time. It's not the first time I've had a problem there, but it's the longest it's taken.

  2. I posted a couple of Old Navy finds that I especially like here.

  3. Looks like Lands End has a new partnership with Zana Roberts Rossi, stylist and senior fashion editor for Marie Claire. New feature on the website with Zanna's Picks, which looks an awful lot like Jenna's Picks editorially. Some very cute stuff actually.

I know it's not for everyone, but I continue to have good luck with very well made stuff in natural fabrics at Lands End if I steer clear of the frumpy styles.

  4. Talbots and Anthropologie have been offering great dresses (non-poly) and skirts lately! Definitely recommend to stop by and take a look.

  5. Loft - Review here of the metallic foil tee. I prefer the fit of it over J. Crew's metallic tee from early spring of this year. The Loft tee is currently on promo for $15.

  6. Has anyone had any purchase experience with Cuyana? I received a catalog from therm and like some of their items and their philosophy. They appear very similar to Everlane, but I have been disappointed in my last orders from them with regard to sizing. Cuyana offers some leather tote styles, good prices and Made in USA.

    1. I have had great experiences with them. I have a leather tote and it is far superior to any of the J.Crew or Madewell offerings. It holds a lot, the leather is buttery, and it is really easy to carry (the J.Crew downing tote I have is really awkward to carry and the leather doesn't seem so nice). I've also purchased one of their alpaca infinity scarves, a travel case set and a panama hat- all of great quality. I do not regret any of my purchases from them. Their customer service is also very responsive should you have any questions before/after ordering.

    2. Thanks Ramblin Can. I love the look of their totes so glad to hear they are good. I found the Downing Tote too big and like you said not great leather.

    3. Sure thing! The Cuyana tote isn't going to stand up on its own on the floor or anything, it's more a soft buttery leather. But, I've been really happy with it and it holds so much (if you need it to).
