"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. the soles of all my J Crew shoes....look terrible after one wear. I know most people do not see the bottoms of your shoes but its the light color I think that show off every little sign of wear. I wore one pair only a few hours and the soles looked like I had had them for years. Am I the only one who this bothers ????

    1. That doesn't bother me so much but you know what does, in terms of J Crew footwear? THE SQUEAKING. I swear, every single pair of shoes I own - whether they're flats, heels or wedges - from JC are so darn squeaky! Including the mirror metallic Sloane pumps I am wearing today. I almost dread getting up from my desk at work, they make so much noise!

    2. I agree Taylor, especially find the ballet flats make lots of noise maybe because I don't wear socks with them. Really embarrassing as you said at work.

    3. JRSConifer - I only have one pair of the ballet flats and I don't wear them much so I can't remember if they're loud - but my plaid Sophie loafers are the worst! I also have two pairs of the Cleo suede loafers and they're just as bad. I think the only ones that don't do it (contradicting what I said earlier!) are the Ceces & I guess that's because they have rubber soles?

  3. I ordered four items in one order and yesterday I received four separate boxes with one item in each box. One from the warehouse, one from 5th Avenue store, one from Bethesda store and one from LA......this is crazy....

    1. I am now ordering on the phone so I can ask where items are coming from...if they are not from the warehouse ....I cancel the item.

  4. Venting in regards to final sale items. Anyone recall when FS goes away? My own fault for buying as I got sucked in because I had some money left in my Feb. Shopping budget. I should have learned by now not to purchase items that are final sale that I have not tried on in real life. Now I am stuck with them or have to take the time to sell them. I guess none of the four items are complete losers but I would definitely return three if not final sale. Never again or at least that is what I tell myself.

    1. I agree....I have been very good about avoiding final sale. I have given away to the thrift store more than I have kept. I do not bother reselling as I find at least giving it to charity to sell makes me feel better. When will final sale go away ?

    2. You can always try asking CS for an exception, they allowed me to return one final sale item before. But I agree, final sale does not seem like a great practice!

  5. What happened to nice jewellery? some of the newest pieces look like craft class. The statement necklace shouln't make the " I made it myself from scarps" look. Its gaudy and really cheap looking. Lets have some pieces that will look still wearable next spring...or is that just the point J Crew.
